Best of 2022 TV Shows #3: Yellowstone (Paramount Network)

While not pulling what RWBY did six years earlier, Yellowstone continued its rapid expansion of both quality and aesthetic with the first part of its 5th chapter.

That somehow saw patriarch John become Montanas newest Governor.

All the while he continued prioritizing his ranch over the populace.

While day to day operations sees Jamie Beth and Kayce continue with all matters of business including run ins from Tom Rainwater and the local residents of the reservation.

Nothing but intrigue fills this as Kevin Costner brilliantly moves with his well defined style.

Now we await as he gets his likely comeuppance from within.

SUM 22: The Dutton Family Gains more and more clout with The 5th chapter of this amazing story.

Gillion(real)

-since his lay on hands wasn't an immediate reaction, all of his missing skin and the holes in his hands became scar tissue.

-once they got back to the ship and everything was calm again, his hair was soooo ratty and knotted. The crew spent ages combing it out, washing out the blood and grime, and making sure it was tied up next time they did something like that.

-when doppelgilly was voided and became a husk, Gillion felt bad. He knew that he shouldn't, he knew that doppelgilly was some evil copy of himself but doppelgilly looked, acted, and felt like himself. It was like looking in a mirror.

-to chip, Jay, and the rest of the crew, he has literally never looked worse. He looks exhausted, he looks beaten. To gil thoigh, he thinks that hes seen worse. He hasnt. The moment he was healed, they sent him to the tub.

-he nearly fell asleep in the elevator, and then while Jay and Gryffon helped with his hair.

-Gillion WILL have lasting trauma and you are NOT changing my mind. I mean no chance he doesn't right?? A Triton literally said to him, WHILE CHAINED, "YOU ABANDONED US." COME ON BRO THATS NOT EVEN THE WORST OF IT

-when Gil was first taken, his neck literally broke. It's verbally stated that if he hadn't casted death ward, he would literally be dead. And he was yanked upwards, as if he were hanged. That bitch should be DEAD AF DAWG. DEAD

Jay

-Jay is second guessing herself like the sky literally fell and it's her fault. She's questioning her role, her right to be a leader, even her life. She spends that night crying as quiet as she can. It felt good, she hasn't had a good silent sob session in a few months. She needed to let it out.

-When Jay put together that Gillion was actually doppelgillion, the loud noises started happening and she fuckin BOOKED IT over to the leviathan room. She got them into this mess, if she didn't get them out she'd never forgive herself.

-when gillion was sent to the tub and the rest of the crew left to do whatever they pleased, chip held Jay back. He told her that it wasn't all her fault. He said that he doesn't blame her for indulging on information about her sister, because why else are they going to the hole in the sea? For laughs? No, it's for chip to do the same thing. They hug then. And then they go about their day/night.

-Jay's hair is singed. When they finished with Gillions hair, they turn to Jay's and cut it as short as she'll let them. Her hair used to be around waist length, as she'd ignored it for a while, only doing so much as to brush it every morning and night to prevent knotting, and goddamn that shit was greasy. She wasn't the only one though so they didn't put it past her. Her hair after the cut is probably upper back to shoulder length. Queen comes along and helps her style it so she doesn't look stupid like she thinks she does.

-she denies that she likes it at all. She's lying and they all know it.

Chip

-im gonna be so fr with myself and say I haven't paid the most attention to chibo so if I get anything character-wise wrong, mercy 🙏

-chips bones are weaker now, some even broken from when he opened the drawer and the ringing rang. Griz said it splintered through his bones, I'm not letting that go

-anyway think like Hector from coco. Some bones are split and broken, some are being held together with medical tape, etc. Basically he's more broken than ever.

-in the fight with the holloweds on the ship. One of them managed to get a lucky shot right on the hole in his chest where his heart should be. Later that night, it burns. He scratches, he rubs, he does anything he can to make the burn go away but nothing works. It seems to have lessened the next day though, so he's not worried.

-theres discolored bruising around his neck where the slimy tongue is.

-on the same note, chip was being dragged much slower, so his neck didn't break, but he was held much tighter.

-when chip told Jay it wasn't her fault, it was all he could do to keep from crying. Because deep down, he thinks it was his. He's the one taking them to the hole, he's the one that brought them into this mess in the first place. He wished he'd never met anyone on this ship, so at least they'd be safe, home, and away from this. He's disappointed in himself. He's angry and sad and he's so upset that he's putting his crew through this nonsense.

-chip thinks the fact that doppelgilly pulled some of the worst cards back to back was hilarious. Then he looks at gillion later on and sees how he's contemplating and he rethinks. He doesn't really change his mind, but he rethinks.

Gil-galad was filthy. There truly was no better term for it – he was covered in mud and orc-blood and other substances he did not want to think about too deeply, his hair was matted and tangled, and he was fairly certain that the smell of blood and smoke and decay had seeped into his very skin.

As he slowly dragged himself towards his tent, he wished for nothing more than a bath, but he was beyond exhausted and even had he found someone to draw it for him he was not certain he would have the energy to stay awake, let alone wash himself, and the High King of the Noldor drowning in his bathtub was the last thing anyone needed, while this horrible war dragged on and on.

Finally he reached his tent and pulled back the flap, intending to simply collapse onto his furs and not move until he was needed again, but instead of a cold, empty tent he was welcomed by warmth and the sweet scent of roses and soap.

Celebrimbor was inside, stoking the fire, and looked up when he entered.

“What…” Gil-galad muttered, too tired to make sense of Celebrimbor’s presence in his tent.

“You look tired, Ereinion,” Celebrimbor said softly. “I had thought you might be, so I have taken the liberty of drawing you a bath. Come, let me help you out of your armour.”

Gil-galad had not the strength to refuse, and if he was entirely honest with himself he had to admit that the thought of being cared for, just for a while, was too lovely to resist. He allowed Celebrimbor to remove his bloodstained armour and grimy underclothes and help him into the tub. The warm water felt heavenly, and he could feel his sore, aching muscles relax as Celebrimbor fetched the soap and gently lathered it on his skin, cleansing him of sweat and grime, washing the blood from his hands and face, mindful of the half-healed wounds littering his body.

When his skin was clean Celebrimbor moved onto his hair, washing it thoroughly, then taking a comb and beginning to untangle it, slowly and carefully, until it fell smoothly down his back once more. Gil-galad felt the last of the tension draining from his body as Celebrimbor rinsed his hair again and worked a sweet-smelling oil into the roots, gently massaging his scalp.

Celebrimbor hummed softly as he worked, and at last Gil-galad could no longer keep his eyes open, more comfortable and at peace than he had felt in a long time.

Celrond fic

Celebrian rolled her eyes as she retreated to the corner of the room to watch all the attempts at subtle diplomacy in front of her. Absolute amateurs. All dressed in their best silks to try and disguise the intent to stab the people they were talking to in the back at a second’s notice. Valar, but she hated these things. She hadn’t even made an attempt to participate, simply coming back from her patrol, washing most of the grime off and getting into slightly more formal military garb, with her tunic and cloak and long hair in a simple loose plait down her back.

She’d just been planning to slip out a window or something when she noticed a figure walking through the crowd. The word Tinuviel on the lips of every member of the room as all the starlight of the night seemed to be drawn towards the void black hair swinging around a deceptively delicate looking body, wrapped in soft sea-green. It was of course Elrond Peredhel.

Elrond appeared to notice her and managed to weave their way towards her side, leaning against the wall. ‘What are you doing here exactly? You haven’t left Imladris for years, I hardly think something this trivial is a good enough reason.’ She offered him some wine as she spoke raising an eyebrow in the process. ‘Gil Galad said that my presence would ease negotiations with the Sindar. He could simply be vastly misunderstanding their view of situation with the Feanorians but…’ Elrond broke off, the end implied enough for Celebrian to grasp it anyway. ‘But Gil Galad rarely makes such miscalculations and my mother never.’ ‘Precisely.’

‘So they’re hiding something from the both of us.’ A statement rather than a question. They were both already perfectly aware of the situation and were simply amusing themselves with their sparring of words. ‘Always a wise assumption where your mother is concerned.’ They smiled at each other in mischievous acknowledgement that the two of them were engaged in chess while all others in this room were playing checkers. A familiar enough sensation, to both of of them but even more so at these events that often found them seeking each other’s company for lack of good conversationalists.

As in all good conversations the bulk of it went unspoken. This was a dance they were well accustomed to. ‘In fact,’ Elrond said, drawing herself up to their full height, ‘I expect to be called aside to a “secret” meeting in three.. two..’ a servant signalled from the door to the room. Elrond shot Celebrian a smirk. ‘If my parents neglect to tell me what’s going on you’ll fill me in won’t you?’ She said breezily, well used to such arrangements with this particular half elf. ‘I’ll summarise tomorrow, over a spar perhaps, oh valiant warrior?’ ‘Sounds perfect, my fair maiden,’ she laughed kissing Elrond’s hand as they walked away with one last smile.
