The theatre play “We Didn’t Cook, We Will Eat Again ” was staged at the Girne Municipality Chamber Theatre.

The play staged by the Aegean People’s Theatre was the last performance in February within the scope of the Theatre Days Events of Girne Municipality.

Approaching the inequality of women and men through a critical window, the sensitivity of a woman’s right to life was explained in a tragicomic language. Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü presented flowers to the actors and the director, who came onto the stage at the end of the play, which was applauded by art lovers.

The theatre play “Pleasant Arrivals”, was shown within the scope of Theatre Days organised by Girne Municipality.

The two-act play entitled “War of Independence” was staged by the founder and actor of Theatre Someone, Utku Erişik, with the theme of information which sheds light on a historical process which has not been brought up to date, using some 250 photographs and presented in theatrical language.

Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü spoke at the event and thanked everyone who had contributed to this production.

The play, which was applauded for several minutes, was watched with great appreciation and interest by theatre lovers.

Theater Days will continue on 13th February with the play ‘Letter K is Enough’.

Girne Municipality Autumn and Winter Culture and Art Activities will be opened with the play Olmak Is it Easy to Be a Star ?

The Culture and Art Events of the Autumn and Winter Period, organized by the Girne Municipality, start with the play “Is it easy to be a star?’ On Thursday, November 7 at 20:00pm. Within the scope of the activities to be realized in Girne Municipality Theater; “Prisoner of the Second Street ”, “Seven Kocalı Hürmüz” and ” There is a danger of collapse” will be put on stage. The activities will also include Classical and Turkish Art Music concerts, as well as an interview with Letters to Children of the World. Tickets for the events listed are 20 TL and can be obtained from Girne Municipality (0392 8152119/101) and Girne Municipality Theater Theater booth (0533 821 21 44). Bookings for the events must be purchased by tickets two days before the event starts.

Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü said in a statement about the autumn and winter season, there will be a comprehensive event program consisting of theater, music and interviews said. He also said that Girne Municipality Theater Studio, Girne Municipality Chamber Orchestra and Girne Municipality Turkish Art Music Ensemble will organize 13 events with the participation of Çatalköy Municipal Theater Water and İzmir Çiğli Municipality.

Güngördü said that they they look forward to our people participating in the events that will include artists from all over the country.

  Samsun Art Theater staged a theatre play entitled Kuvayi Milliye Destani (National Forces Epic) which took place at the Girne Municipality Chamber Theatre.

The epic was written by Nazım Hikmet and directed and acted by Yaşar Gündem The event was attended by the Commander of Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces, Major General Yılmaz Yıldırım, Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü and theatre lovers.

Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü in his speech at the end of the performance said that during the War of Independence it was a very difficult period for the people of Anatolia, and Nazim Hikmet had written his epic very well.  He congratulated Yaşar Gündem for his spectacular performance.

The Mayor pointed out the importance of solidarity, and said that hard days can be overcome only in this way. At the end of his speech Güngördü expressed his thanks to the Samsun Art Theatre for staging the play.
