Satan Bound

1 I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key to the bottomless pit and a large chain in his hand. 2 He overpowered the serpent, that ancient snake, named Devil and Satan. The angel chained up the serpent for 1,000 years. 3 He threw it into the bottomless pit. The angel shut and sealed the pit over the serpent to keep it from deceiving the nations anymore until the 1,000 years were over. After that it must be set free for a little while.

4 I saw thrones, and those who sat on them were allowed to judge. Then I saw the souls of those whose heads had been cut off because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They will continue to be priests of God and Christ. They will rule with him for 1,000 years.

7 When 1,000 years are over, Satan will be freed from his prison. 8 He will go out to deceive Gog and Magog, the nations in the four corners of the earth, and gather them for war. Comics this week ?

Superman #9 - I am a huge fan of Metropolis being moved to the West Coast, the pearl clutching from those shrieking about the sacred continuity is hilarious. Redondo is great at these smaller scale character interactions because of his talent for facial expressions, but he handles the fight scenes well too. Cowboy Superman vs. Terra-Man next issue has reinvigorated my excitement after the Chained arc dragged a bit.

World’s Finest #22 - Rules, Mora offers a feast for the eyes with the fight scenes. Gog likely is trying to recreate the Death of Third World with one glorious battle of good vs. evil where this time he can participate and rejoin his people in Valhalla. His unyielding sense of right and wrong does cast him as an interesting foil to KC Superman, who we know suffers from the same character flaw.

GL: WJ #4 - My favorite PKJ book of the week, one thing he has a talent for is giving you one page an issue that summarizes what the lead is all about. Here Stewart gets two: the first when he bends the corrupted ring to his will, and the second when he tells Shepherd that a Lantern must be more than their ring. You need a plan and you need support. Great stuff that does a good job summing up Stewart’s mindset I felt. Also Irons got a page like that too - when he analyzes the ring he acknowledges it’s basically magic-tech, but is confident enough in his engineering ability to try and tinker with it anyway.

Wonder Woman #4 - Superheroes hanging out with sick kids is pretty cliche, but what I liked about this is how it keeps pushing King's take that Wonder woman is a rebel. She rebels against the norms of her home just as much as she does the norm's of "Patriarch's World", as seen with how she's willing to take a sick boy to Themyscira even though America and Themyscria are poised for war. Oh and Sampere's art is a joy as always. Small detail but I liked how Jon and Damian were introduced as the sons of their mothers in the backup, that's very fitting for Amazon society.

JLvGvK #3 - Expected Batgod wanking (he’s the only one who takes down his monster) and Superman jobbing aside, this continues to be a fun romp.

Dr. Strange #10 - Predictable resolution but executed compellingly enough that I don’t mind.

Incredible Hulk #7 - Amazing Klein art but otherwise not much plot. PKJ needs to start moving on the Eldest plotline before long, the monster of the week format is beginning to wear thin.

The First Sign of the End Times

Daniel 7 describes this “abomination” and how to recognize it.

God told the prophet Daniel that when the end is near, many seemingly enigmatic verses will become clear. Probably because as the events prophesied are increasingly fulfilled, the more clear other signs will become.

As Daniel concluded his prophecy in chapter twelve, he asked God to let him in on the timing of the end-time events. God deflected his request in verse four: “But you, Daniel, close up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end…” (Notice that when the end is near everything will become more clear).

Daniel then asked the two angels standing nearby, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?” An angel replied in verse seven, “It will be for a time, times, and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”

The terms, "time, times and half a time" and the corresponding 3.5 years and 1260 days and 1290 days, are explained in the Book of Revelation. Daniel confessed in verse eight that he still did not understand so once again He asked the Lord, "My Lord, what will the outcome of all this be?"

God replied in verse nine, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are closed up and sealed until the time of the end…. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand."

So, rest assured that discerning spiritual men and women in the Body of Christ will be able to read the signs—and will be happy to share what they see with you. Notice I said, “spiritual men and women.” Jesus predicted that near the end of time many false individuals will confuse many (this, of course, is another sign in itself).

But, don’t stop by depending on the insights of others. Do your own homework. Be a biblical “self feeder” and check these things out for yourself.

So that you won't have to go searching to get started, I've listed below the basic prophetical books and passages in order to help make your study a little easier.

The Divine Names

The Divine Names are only those that have been revealed; hence, one cannot ascribe a name to Allah (Glorified and Exalted) unless it has come to us through revelation and the Sacred Law (shari'a).

It is permissible to refer to the Truth [i.e., Allah] (may He be Glorified) with the terms "thing" (shay) or "existent" (mawjud), whether in Arabif or another language (farisiyya). Similarly, one may use "self" (nafs) to refer to Allah. He Most High is a "thing," yet like no other thing.

As for the terms nur (light), wajh (face), yad (hand), ayn (eye), janb (side), and the like, they may not be used to refer to Allah Most High in a language other than Arabic without being interpreted [nonliterally], because they are from the Vague and Unclear Terms (mutashabihat) [used in the Qur'an and hadith], as opposed to the first two terms [i.e., "thing" and "existent"].

Some words may be used to refer to Allah Most High when used in compound constructions, but not otherwise, such as "Raiser of degrees," "Fulfiller of needs," "Destroyer of legions," "Remover of worries," and "Fierce in punishment." This is because, with regard to the Names of Allah Most High, we do not exceed the limits set up by the Sacred Law, whose texts do not mention these names other than in compound constructions.

It is not permissible to refer to Him as "the veiled" (mahjub). Some scholars, however, did permit the use of "The One who veils Himself" (muhtajib). This is because the first name suggests being overcome by another, as opposed to the second name. And Allah knows best.

Some terms are such that neither they nor their opposites may be used to refer to Allah Most High, such as "the still, "the awake," or "the intelligent," since the Sacred Law does not mention them or their opposites.

Likewise, one may not use the terms "the one who enters" or "the absent" to refer to Him; it is permissible, however, to say "He (Most Glorified) is hidden from creation."

The events that unfold at the end of time, as reported to us by the Prophet (pbuh), are realities. These include the emergence of the Anti-Christ (dajjal); the Beast of the Earth (dabbat al-ard); Gog and Magog (ya'juj wa ma'juj); the descent of Isa (aspbuh); and the rising of the sun from the West.

We do not give credence to any diviner or soothsayer, nor one who claims anything in opposition to the Book, Sunna, or scholarly consensus.

This, then, is our religion and belief, both outward and inward. We are absolved, in front of Allah Glorified and Exalted, of anyone who opposes what we have mentioned and clarified above. We ask Allah Most High to make us steadfast in faith, and to end our lives upon it. We ask him to safeguard us from whims contrary to the aforementioned, and from vile opinions, such as of those who liken Allah to His creation (anthropomorphists—mushabbiha); who deny any of His attributes (mu'attila); who allege that the servant creates his own actions (qadriyya); who deny the free will of servants (jabriyya); or others who contravene what is agreed upon by the community and who side with deviation. We absolve ourselves from them, and they are, according to us, misguided.

We believe in the noble angelic scribes, as well as the appointed guardian-angels—while we consign their number over to the Lord of all the worlds—just as we believe in the prophets and messengers. May Allah's blessings and peace be upon them all, forever into eternity, as many blessings as the number of all that ever existed and all that exists, in this life, the next, and the Day of Judgement. All praises are for Allah, the One who guided us to this, and we would not have been guided had Allah not guided us. We ask Allah for pardon and well-being, in our religious and worldly affairs, for us and our parents, children, teachers and brethren in Allah. And Allah knows best.

glad to see another gog fan! for a question, which is your favorite section of the series? as far as dividing it, i feel like books 1-6 are their own series, 7-8 and 12 to 15 another one, and then all the prequel ones on their own.

also, which one of lasky's non-owl series do you like the most?

When I was a kid, my favorite part was 9-11; I absolutely ADORED the prequels and how crazy they got! As an adult, I've gotta say that 1-6 are my favorites! Especially book 5, I loved seeing things from Primrose's POV!

I remember really enjoying Wolves of the Beyond, but I also recall reading the first Horses of the Dawn and that was really neat since I was a horse girl growing up LOL. I just never read past that first book and honestly, I'm not sure whether there even are any more. I remember refreshing the kindle store every single day to see if she'd published the next one yet!!

Welcome back to another retrospective on the books I read, games I played, and movies I watched! Additionally, I tracked shows, although there weren't many. Last year was insane so let's see how it stacks up! Full list here

I watched 75 new movies this year! That's 6 less than last year, but still a lotta movies! I saw 3 movies in theaters, up from 2 last year.

I played 37 games this year. That's FORTY-ONE LESS than last year, which is mind-blowing. TBH I got really obsessed with Neopets this year and I didn't play anything else for a few months. D:

Games I'm still playing that aren't on the list are Lethal Company, Baldurs Gate 3, Mario Wonder, and Stardew Valley (because it's on the 2016 list). Interestingly, despite playing way less games this year, I got more 5-star games. Probably just luck, I don't play bad games on purpose lol

The Book of Revelation is a very difficult book to understand that, with the description of the visions of the apostle John, follows the literary style of the Books of Daniel and Ezekiel. This mysterious book is basically the resolution of the problem of evil that began according to the Bible with Adam and Eve in paradise with the original sin. This book, among other things, tells of the clash between the forces of good and light against the forces of evil, which are the diabolical trinity, that is to say, the antichrist, the beast, and the false prophet. The Book of Revelation contains many similarities to many prophecies about the future from more modern seers than John, such as Nostradamus and Saint Malachi. Almost all of them speak of the arrival of a last antichrist, the third and most destructive, and despite the actions of this character, his tragical end will only serve to give rise to a new era of light and knowledge, like the era of the renaissance that was after the medieval era. With these words, the Book of Revelation prophesied the actions and end of the last antichrist, called Satan: "Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown" Revelation 20:7-10.

It felt like a lot of the songs got lost in time. I can definitely see the pop scene loving this album when it was released in the 1940s, but for a 2023 crowd, it falls a bit flat. Although, I may have a bit of a bias, having only listened to this album for Frank Sinatra (who’s two tracks were some of my favorites off the album!)

Will You Still Be Mine? -> 8/10 It’s very cute, but dragged on just a biiiit too much for my personal liking. Still a sweet song though!

Everything Happens to Me -> 8.5/10 He is so me. I absolutely LOVE when Frank Sinatra sings a more somber / “blue” track.

Swing High -> 6/10 Sure is a swingin’ track!

Oh! Look at Me Now -> 7/10 Gog I wish that were me… manifesting song for sure.

Little Man With the Candy Cigar -> 1/10 Slow, and felt like it dragged on without any direction.

Swingin’ on Nothin’ -> 4/10 I’ve heard better.

Not So Quiet, Please -> 3/10 It fell kind of flat for me. It felt like it had 20 places it wanted to go, and didn’t even book a ticket.

6 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.

5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds[a] of wheat for a day’s wages,[b] and six pounds[c] of barley for a day’s wages,[d] and do not damage the oil and the wine!”

7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

So as Christians we’re not supposed to skip, or omit, any part of Revelations. So I encourage everyone to read on their own time the whole of the book.

According to Jesus Christ, the end is supposed to come after an event at the Temple. I believe, and it is only a belief, that it will somehow be related to the red cows and a pushback by the world politicians and Islamic community.

But it could also be tied to Ezekiel 38:

17 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: You are the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel. At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them. 18 This is what will happen in that day: When Gog attacks the land of Israel, my hot anger will be aroused, declares the Sovereign Lord. 19 In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel. 20 The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground. 21 I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Sovereign Lord. Every man’s sword will be against his brother. 22 I will execute judgment on him with plague and bloodshed; I will pour down torrents of rain, hailstones and burning sulfur on him and on his troops and on the many nations with him. 23 And so I will show my greatness and my holiness, and I will make myself known in the sight of many nations. Then they will know that I am the Lord.’

We don’t know what the desolation could be. I still think nuclear of some type. But it could be anything.

And there has been a LOT of discussion on the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Literature, books, movies, the Supernatural series. Who they are, whether a human form, a metaphor, has been explored many times. They’ve been named: Famine, Plague, War, Death. In Good Omens, in many different franchises… people like to return to those four ideas. And they’re interesting, as ideas. And smarter people than I, more learned in scripture, have analyzed these passages, wondering whether it’s of note that the white horseman Carrie’s a bow with no mention of an arrow.

I think.. and this is my personal thought, I do not know or claim to know the truth, that the white horseman is different than we’ve made them out to be. A conqueror bent on conquest? I don’t get “pestilence” from this. I know it’s mentioned in a later line. I know. But to me.. I think this horseman represents an affliction of minds. Crimea was invaded in 2014. We’ve seen a rise in unrest. Corporations wanting more and more profits. House values skyrocketing, suddenly preventing many from buying a home. I think the white horse means that people more than ever, are putting themselves and their expectations above others. Cancel culture, where people hound and pester for an apology, just for someone to be “cancelled” regardless, with no room for redemption. Alternative ideas are pushed down, a strict divide between that which is liberal and that which is conservative, with any action or belief that crosses that kind being “wrong” and shunned by the respective party of origin. Home prices don’t have to be this high. Hatred, pure hatred for people who are “other” doesn’t have to be like this. “Karen,” “terf,” are words used by the left to silence and to subjugate just as much as “woman,” “word of God,” are used by the right. Dialogue isn’t open anymore. “Gay rights are human rights.” Say that as a gay person, and any reaction, any, from anyone else that isn’t 100% supportive and respectful, is seen as a personal attack. If someone tries to discuss it, you roll your eyes, your heart already cut off from the conversation.

Gay-ness isn’t a choice, people are born that way. But it isn’t that I support that particular talking point, so much as I’m demonstrating the lack of an ability to discuss with open dialogue. Did you read that line and immediately shut down and think me a bigot? That “because it IS a personal attack.” What about abortion? Can we even discuss it without it being a hardline “women get to choose,” or “abortion is murder,”? For most of us? No. And we don’t WANT to discuss it. We want to be RIGHT. To have the people around us accept that they’re wrong, super duper wrong, and need to apologize and atone, and also, we have the moral high ground.

So I think Conquest is just that, Conquest. A hardening of hearts to all discussions, thoughts, and presentation of ideas that are “other” to our way of thinking and living.

The red horseman? Peace taken from the earth and people killing each other? Unfortunately it’s not a new concept. The world has been embroiled in conflict for decades. The Middle East is a mess, Ukraine is Ukraine, and oh! If global conflicts aren’t obvious enough? Look at our own streets at home. Rising housing costs? Homelessness. Drug addictions? Homelessness AND suffering. And what do people do when they’re backed into a corner? Hurt each other. Peace from the earth doesn’t even need to be in a war (though we have those), it just needs to be where someone isn’t getting what they need to live. Look at Haiti. Sudan. And then look at your own city. You’ve seen those people. Asking for money. You think they’ll spend it on drugs. So what? What’s wrong with wanting to be somewhere, anywhere, than where you are that very moment? These people need support. Housing. Food. Their needs have to be met before they can live. And yes, sometimes these addictions hurt the lives that depend on them. Children. How many times have children ended up at homeless shelters, or living with grandparents, or in foster care because of their parents not being there physically, or mentally for them? We need social programs for these people. We need HOUSING. To brush off this horseman as simply War.. the war is at home.

The Black horseman is riding. Grocery bills are sky high, and will only go higher.

Why? Because our timelines are not God’s. Everything has to be laid out ahead of time. The seeds for the beginnings must be planted so that they can grow and fruit. I remember a discussion in church, whether it is true or not, that wine and oil were the goods of the rich when this was written, and that this means that while the poor will be paying a ridiculous amount for the bare necessities, it is not that the oil and the wine will actually not be touched, but that the rich will not. I don’t think that this is true, because I’m fairly certain wine and oil (regardless of their quality) were not restricted only to the rich. But I do think a famine is coming.. a food shortage. And I think it’s been coming for a while, with nations stockpiling their food. There isn’t much to speak of further here.. either food will jump in price, or it won’t.

Now I think this is where my pessimism struggles with what is in the text. I think world war 3 is coming. I think a massive recession is here, though it hasn’t hit us full force yet. I see it in the amount of food people get at the grocery store.

But the horsemen rising out and being given power may have a bit of time between them. Or they may not get their power at all until after the desolation of the temple. I think they’re the seeds of behavior in humanity, rather than outright catastrophes unto themselves. So perhaps they are riding now, and their full force won’t be felt for sometime. But a fourth of the earth is… a massive, massive number of people. Covid-19 didn’t come close to that. War, murder, manslaughter, femicide.. wild animal attacks. We see those now so regularly that we’re desensitized to them. But it would take.. I think.. a world war to reach those numbers. Famine? Plague? A new strain of covid? People die by famine now, we just don’t care as a global population because of WHERE those deaths occur. I think…

We just need to prepare.

That these atrocities will not happen until Israel is attacked.

The day that happens? Then we need to truly be prepared.

GOG AND MAGOG

Revelation identifies Gog and Magog as the nations from the four corners of the Earth that attack the saints. 

The prophet Ezekiel received a vision of an invading army composed of regional nations that attacked Israel from the north. The force was led by “Gog of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal” - (KJV). But before it succeeded, this army was destroyed by Yahweh “on the mountains of Israel.”

Ezekiel’s vision identifies several of the nations that attacked Israel, including ones known from history, but also several whose identities remain uncertain, possibly including “Rosh” - (Translated as “chief” in the King James Version) - (Ezekiel 38:1-9).

Several interpretations identify this ‘rosh’ with modern Russia because of the perceived similarity in pronunciation. Regardless, the book of Revelation identifies “Gog and Magog” as the “nations” from the “four corners of the Earth” - (Revelation 20:7-10).

TABLE OF NATIONS

The nations listed in Ezekiel are derived from the “Table of Nations” from the tenth chapter of Genesis, the descendants of Noah’s three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth - (Genesis 10:1-32).

The geographic ranges of the nations listed in Ezekiel are from the north as far as the Caucasus Mountains, south to the Arabian Peninsula, east to the Iranian plateau, and west to the Aegean Sea and possibly Spain (Tarshish).

Genesis places Japheth’s descendants in the regions to the north and west of Palestine (Asia Minor, Aegean), the offspring of Ham in Africa, Mesopotamia, and Arabia, and the descendants of Shem in northern Mesopotamia, Syria, and Arabia. The “Table of Nations” includes seventy nations to symbolize the totality of human civilization.

Satan is not 666 in revelation 13 that is actually the beast:

This proves that the devil is NOT being worshipped by the entire world and it also proves that the actual devil doesn't run the world.
