Did Grand Island, Nebraska's Yudierquis Reyes-Merino stab her husband?

Yudierquis Reyes-Merino, 38, of Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, United States is accused of physically assaulting her husband, 40. At around 5:00 p.m. on May 26, 2023, she allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab him in the leg.

Conspiracy to Commit Robbery

In August 2024, two 18-year-olds were sentenced for their role in a Lincoln man’s death at Fonner Park.

Austin Kelly got 18 to 38 years in prison for conspiracy to commit robbery. He could be eligible for parole in nine years.

Another man, Lane Harris will spend 90 days in jail and four years on probation for aiding the consummation of a felony.

Both had their charges reduced under plea deals.

On March 9, 2023, Todd Scherer of Lincoln was found dead in the stables at Fonner Park, the horse racetrack in Grand Island, Nebraska. Police said Logan Hunts Horse, now 21, shot the 62-year-old in the stomach.

Hunts Horse, Kelly and Harris then left the stables but later returned to find that Scherer was still alive. Court documents say Hunts Horse hit Scherer in the head with a baseball bat, then Austin stole his wallet.

The three split Scherer’s money among them, police said.

Logan Hunts Horse (Nebraska inmate 218892) was sentenced earlier to 88 to 134 years in prison for second-degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
