HOW TO CHECK YOUR OIL TANK FUEL GAUGE?
An empty car tank could end up stopping you in the middle of nowhere. An empty oil tank on the other hand, could leave you stranded in the middle of your cooking, washing or even that relaxing hot bath you look forward to, at the end of a hectic day. Keeping your oil tank stocked is requisite to keeping your home warm and functioning without inconveniences. If you have recently installed an oil heater and need a few friendly directions to know how to measure its oil level, this blog will prove useful. In fact, it will also show you a great way to skip the process of checking your tank’s oil level altogether, for good. Read on to know more.
Know where your tank is
The first step to checking the oil level in your high-efficiency oil boiler begins with finding your way to the tank. Oil burner service companies typically place oil tanks either in the basement of a home or externally, towards the rear or alongside the property. Check if your tank is above or below ground.
Check if your Oil Tank Gauge is working
The reading on your tank gauge will matter only if your tank gauge is in proper working condition. Here’s a simple test to find out. Oil gauges are cylindrical in shape and have a float inside. You will find the gauge at the top of your oil tank – that’s where all tank gauges are placed to make the reading a convenient experience. Remove the outer case of your tank and when you see the float, proceed to press it downward. If it rises back to its original position, your gauge is functioning properly. If it fails to retain its original position, you will need to get a professional inspection of your oil burner fuel filter and other components by a qualified oil heater service contractor.
Read the gauge
As with a measuring jar, your oil tank too comes with markings to help you understand the oil level at any point in time. The standard markings on any oil tank would include the following: F – full, 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and E – empty. You may wonder whether to use the top of the float or its bottom – as the basis to take your reading. It’s advisable to use the top of the float, as this will give you a more accurate reading. The next best way is to see where the middle of the float is positioned along the scale of markings. You can also approach your local oil heater service or oil burner service company to get the job done without any uncertainty.
Check the gallons left
You can use your oil tank’s fuel gauge to know the fuel level but not the exact volume in terms of gallons. Here, a little math will come to your rescue. Divide the total fuel capacity of your tank by the float’s current reading. For instance, if your tank’s holding capacity is 240 gallons and your float gauge gives you a reading of 1/4, then the volume of oil left in your tank will be 240/0.25=60 gallons.
Manage your oil level without checking the tank gauge
While the steps outlined above will help you keep track of the oil level in your tank at any point in time, we’d like to recommend a simpler way to get the job done. It’s called Automatic Delivery – a service where you leave it to the experts at Boyle Energy to determine your average oil consumption and then refill your tank at just the right time. You will experience all the comforts of an oil tank that never runs empty without ever turning to look at your oil tank gauge. If you’d like to know more about this service, call us at 610 595 4696 or 215 709 9196. It’s your first step to maintaining both your oil level and peace of mind, automatically.

Live at the Nail: A Great Night for #Tweetcore!
Just a quick post to share some cool music and say thanks to Scoopski for inviting me and a few other #Tweetcore favorites (and soon-to-be favorites!) to perform at The Nail with him in Ardmore, Pennsylvania last night! The Nail (also known as the Rusty Nail) is a great venue that champions indie music from local and touring and bands. It’s where I saw Scoopski for the first time, along with Phil…

Protecting Your Haven: A Comprehensive Guide to Home Break-In Avoidance
Break-In Avoidance
Tumblr media
In an ideal world, our homes would be sanctuaries of safety and security, shielding us from the dangers of the outside world. However, the unfortunate reality is that home break-ins are a prevalent concern for homeowners across the globe. According to statistics, a burglary occurs every 26 seconds in the United States alone, with intruders often targeting residential properties when occupants are away or vulnerable.
While the thought of a home invasion may be unsettling, there are proactive steps you can take to fortify your home and deter potential intruders. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll explore effective strategies for home break-in avoidance, empowering you to safeguard your haven and protect your loved ones.
Assess Vulnerabilities: The first step in preventing home break-ins is to conduct a thorough assessment of your property’s vulnerabilities. Walk around your home and identify potential entry points such as doors, windows, and garage doors. Take note of any areas that are poorly lit or obscured from view, as these can serve as hiding spots for intruders. Additionally, consider the landscaping around your home; overgrown bushes or trees can provide cover for would-be burglars. By understanding your home’s weak points, you can develop a targeted approach to strengthening security.
Invest in Quality Locks: Strong, reliable locks are your first line of defense against intruders. Upgrade to high-quality deadbolts for exterior doors, ensuring they extend deep into the door frame for maximum security. Consider installing smart locks equipped with keyless entry and remote access capabilities, allowing you to monitor and control access to your home from anywhere. Don’t overlook the importance of securing windows as well; reinforce them with sturdy locks or install window bars or grilles for added protection.

Masonry Media PA
Masonry Media PA focuses on three main pillars: Carefully listening to customers’ needs and making them a priority, providing high quality craftsmanship and keeping the customer directly involved through regular communication.
Stucco Repair & Stucco Remediation
Stucco is a beautiful form of siding for a home, offering a wide variety of colors and textures to fit your personality. It is more expensive than other types of siding, but it’s worth the investment if you want your house to be truly unique and beautiful.
However, stucco can be problematic if it’s not taken care of properly. Moisture can get behind the wall and start to rot it, causing serious problems for your house and the health of your family.
This fake stucco may be composed of space-age foam insulation board or maybe cement panels secured for the walls. While this material may look authentic, real stucco is usually heavier. Moreover, walls made from genuine stucco sound solid when tapped and will be less likely to suffer damage from a hard blow. Likewise, genuine stucco supports well in wet conditions.
Brick Repair & Brick Remediation
When mortar begins to fail on your home or you notice deteriorating bricks, it's important that you hire a masonry contractor that has the experience to repair it properly. Otherwise, you could end up with sloppy work that will not look good and may cause further structural damage to your property.
Helical masonry beaming is a highly efficient method of reinforcing areas of masonry that have lost their load-bearing capacity. Using PROSOCO Stitch-Tie Bars embedded in SureGrout S, the system produces composite brick beams and can be used to span openings or to strengthen multi-wythe walls.
