Made these for a friend from the USA I met on Discord, he leaves for OSUT next Monday, so I felt like I could do something nice for him. And since I met him in a Pokémon server. Well, I made it featuring the Pokémon I associate the most with him!

Some Things to Know for the “Army Life"
1. Know your SO’s MOS and leave date! A POA is helpful.
2. Their first paycheck takes 30-45 days. (One paycheck will be $350+ less than usual because they get an eagle card during reception with money to buy things there)
3. TriCare starts as soon as he goes.
4. BHA (basic housing allowance) goes off of your zip code and should start first thing but sometimes it doesn’t and your SO will have to talk to them about it. (May all be in the first check or split between both checks).
5. When they ship out, they do not go straight to Basic.
6. First is reception. (This is 7-10 days where they get processed, haircuts, gear, etc ready for basic.)
7. They then ship out to BCT. You may or may not get a call.
8. There are 3 phases: red, white, and blue. (All 3 weeks long)
9. They have 3 PT tests in order to graduate and go on to AIT. (Also to get family day).
10. AIT length all depends on MOS!
11. OSUT means all the training (BCT & AIT) are together.
12. Phone privileges are ONLY dependent on the DS.
13. After AIT your SO either ships off to their FDS, or to another training station if they have more training. Ex: airborne, rasp
14. At their FDS they have (usually) 2 weeks of processing. (They May also get 10 days to house search for their family).
15. WRITE WRITE WRITE. They want to know the good, the bad, and the ugly. They do not care if it’s a sentence or 5 pages.
16. Yes you can send pictures. As many as you want. I usually send 4x6s.
17. Do not send any packages unless requested by your SO.
18. Snail mail is an understatement. You may get letters saying they haven’t received any mail even after sending 2 weeks ago. They will get it!
19. Keep your phone charged and glued to you. You never know when you will get “the” call.
20. During family weekend they will be tired and hungry. Don’t be upset that all they want to do is relax, let them. They don’t get to often.
21. Keep yourself busy. Go visit family, work, make new friends, binge watch Netflix, etc. The time will eventually fly.
22. The haircut is not free!
23. You will have to pay for going to see your soldier for family weekend and graduation.
24. The army can move you for free (will only pick up from one location) or you can DIY move and they can re-inverse you.
24. You can move for your SO’s AIT if it’s over 22 weeks long and you our on his orders. But they only pay for one move the other is on you.
25. Last but not least, we are all going through the same thing. We are family now. We are Army strong. 🖤💛
