#Hibari does have good relationships with his family bar Fon

Hibari headcanons?
1. Hibari is an oops child, later in his parents marriage. By this I mean at least a decade age difference between him and his siblings.
2. This does mean he is the youngest and spoiled, but not absurdly so. He was raised to be disciplined and maintains and enforces it. His father taught the basics of how to fight, but his mother pressed the tonfa into his hands.
3. The thing parents do when they have older children? They put them in charge of the younger ones. Hibari is fond of his parents but his siblings raised him… mostly-ish.
They probably shouldn’t have been left with an impressionable child and minimal supervision from more distant relatives. Hibari’s had his catchphrase of ‘bite to death’ longer than he’s been potty-trained.
4. He had two older siblings. The older brother that ended up abandoning Japan for the Triads and an older sister who picked up the duties that their older brother left as heir to the Hibari.
Incidentally, he completely blames Fon for ‘taking’ his older brother, bringing shame to the Hibari name and also blames Fon for his brother dying. I-pin is his cousin. He knows this, for all Fon has never said such.
5. Hibari overcompensated for the shame of his brother’s actions when that happen as a child. Add in sending him to school, the difference in environment and people… Hibari created the foundation of the disciplinary committee before he was even in double digits.
Incidentally, his older sister was delighted and found it adorable. She started to use the Hibari influence to uh, bend Namimori to her brother’s will. Because he was obviously Heir, she’s just standing in but she’s not weak. Just low-key terrifying.
Also again, she should not have been left alone with an impressionable child and minimal supervision.
6. The Hibari are the local power of Namimori; old money, old connections. You know how people say that so-and-so built/founded this town? You can say that the Hibari did that to Namimori.
Incidentally, everyone seems so surprised to learn that Hibari’s father is in charge of he local hospital. But it does explain much about how those ‘bitten to death’ have never pressed charges against Hibari and made them stick.
Hibari takes a lot after his mother and sister. To everyone’s horror except the Hibari Clan who find it cute and the Kusakabe who are mostly immune to Hibari-crazy by dent of long exposure.
7. His sister taught him how to drive, illegally when he was tall enough to reach the pedals and arranged for his ownership of his motorcycle once he passed the driving test. His mother taught him how to race, how to pursue and the limits of the bike after. Incidentally, this is when Kusakabe learned how to fly a helicopter.
Hibari doesn’t see the point in ‘stunts’ in front of a crowed, but a race? It fires up all those predator-chase-prey instincts. Hunting down prey was an excellent bonding experience, as was ‘how to get rid of corpses’ and ‘how to make unruly herbivores wish they were prey.’
8. Dino is an idiot herbivore with delusions of grandeur but he’s strong and does know what he’s talking about. Mostly.
Hibari’s proud, but he’s not so proud to ignore good advice when he recognizes it.
9. Hibari spends more time behind a desk than people think; between school work, Hibari business and the Disciplinary Committee… his relatives were so proud when he graduated with honors while being in charge of Namimori.
Everyone at school was quietly relieved when Hibari graduated… until they realized that Hibari had so much more free time now.
10. Hibari is a lot fonder of the Varia than is obvious and not because they’re a pack of carnivores.
But that helps a lot. Compared to the small animal, the herbivores and Vongola annoyance he’s supposed to be part of, a pack of carnivores at least doesn’t have to deal with herbivore nonsense

Dino, Fon and Colonello for the character breakdown?? Takeshi as a fourth if that's okay??
Dino
How I feel about this character:
I’m fairly neutral with regards to him. He’s not my favorite character, nor is he my least favorite. Part of that is simply that he never left a particularly strong impression on me? He was just the clumsy goof that grew competent around other people, and that kind of character has never really appealed to me much. Idk, maybe if I got to see more of him I’d like him more.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
... Um.... No one? I see him shipped with Hibari a lot, but I honestly don’t like that ship very much. If I had to pick someone, then it’d be the rarepair ship @onceabluemoonwrites introduced me to, DinoXanxus.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Tsuna. They’re the best of brotherly friends! Other than him? Squalo.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
Like I said before, I’m not a fan of D18. Crazy, I know, but that’s how it is!
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
I wish I could’ve seen more of his past. I say that about a lot of characters, but it’s true! He lost his father and had to take up a mafia family. I want to see that. How did he meet his guardians? What troubles did he face when he first became boss? How did he become as good a boss as he is while dealing with the grief from losing his father?
Fon
How I feel about this character:
I love him! I honestly think he didn’t get enough screen time, and if you go through my KHR ideas, you’ll see there are a lot of ideas that have Fon involved. Out of the arcobaleno, he’s easily one of my favorites
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Viper maybe? I’m not sure. I don’t actually ship very many things in KHR, mostly just rolling with what I do see, with the only real exception being 1827. I’ve also shipped Fon with Tsuna before, which is something I rarely see anyone else doing. That makes me rather sad.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Kyoya. Just--Kyoya being a tiny terror and attacking Fon at every opertunity to prove his strength and Fon being the long suffering uncle who fondly defends against the attacks and gives Kyoya tips so he can do better next time. Kyoya pretends he hates him, but secretly Fon is his favorite relative. This. This is my favorite Non-Romantic OTP for Fon. Other than that? Reborn. I can see them going out for coffee in between hits or something. That, and Viper and Fon are spicy food friends. They both adore supremely spicy food, and when their curses are broken and they finally are able to return to their true ages, they celebrate by eating a buffet of super spicy food.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
Fon was super violent as a young kid. He only found the “Eye of his Storm” after he started learning martial arts. Before then, he was a right terror and everyone was terrified of him. It’s one of the reasons why Fon is so indulgent of Kyoya. He sees himself in Kyoya, so he helps to temper the blood-lust Kyoya revels in.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
I really want to see more interactions between him and I-pin, as well as see more of the relationship between him and Kyoya.
Collonello
How I feel about this character:
I’m not overly fond of him, but I don’t hate him. I do, however, hate writing him. His personality is a pain in the ass to get right and I despise OOCness in my characters.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
I ship him with Lal Mich, but like I said in the ask I got about Lal Mich, I ship him with her more in a platonic manner than romantically. Other than Lal, I ship him with Reborn.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Lal Mich is the top of this particular list, but Reborn comes a close second. I know I said I shipped them romantically, but they could be really good friends/rivals too. Most of my ships are like that, really. They could be good friends or rivals or lovers and I wouldn’t care. My favorite kind of ship is a healthy ship were your lover is your best friend as well.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
I’m not fond of his speech tick. It doesn’t sound bad when it’s in Japanese, because I don’t speak it and “Kora” doesn’t mean very much to me, but if you translate it into English, a language I actually speak, then things start getting uncomfortable for me. I’ve never liked bullies, as I was bullies myself once, and when I find someone with a speech tick that is literately him calling everyone he speaks to “Maggots”, I just... Idk. Stuff like that is the root for my dislike of a lot of characters. I didn’t like Reborn much either in the beginning for much of the same reasons. He felt like a bully to me, and it took a while for that opinion to change.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
I’d love to see more of his army days with Lal Mich. More than anything, I’d love to see that.
Takeshi
How I feel about this character:
I adore him. Everything about him. Even if he’s a pain in the ass to write sometimes. I love him, and I empathize with his plight. One of the hardest chapters I have ever had to write was from his POV, and it was his suicide scene and I just--I was suicidal once, and while I’m not anymore, I can still remember what it was like. Seeing how his suicide scene was written in canon gave me chills, and how it was resolved and then kinda brushed aside never felt right to me. It’s one of the reasons I wrote that suicide chapter from his POV. I wanted to make it real. And, according to the reviews I got, I succeeded.
All the people I ship romantically with this character:
Hayato, because they would be super cute together. Hibari, because whooaaa I didn’t think of that before “Stranger with a Gun” introduced it to me, but wow that pairing can be powerful. Tsuna because I ship Tsuna with almost everyone.
My non-romantic OTP for this character:
Also Hayato, following the trend of characters being either friends or lovers or both. I like their dynamic. Other than Hayato, there is Tsuna. Tsuna is the one he’d go to whenever his depression gets too bad, or when he needs to feel at home, or when he needs someone to listen. Because that’s what Tsuna does best. He listens.
My unpopular opinion about this character:
I really don’t like his reaction to seeing Tsuna again in the future arc. He thought Tsuna was dead, and he didn’t even seem surprised at seeing Tsuna again?? It was like that for all the guardians, really, bar Hayato. Hayato was the only one who reacted with any form of shock or grief or anything. Isn’t Tsuna supposed to be their sky? Isn’t he supposed to be their boss? An “Oh! You’re alive! Hello, I guess!” isn’t how I would react to seeing my good friend suddenly coming back from the dead. I would be crying, bawling my eyes out. There would be screaming and hugs and I’d refuse to let them go for fear they would disappear or go back to being dead. There was none of that, and that’s always confused me and disappointed me. Other than that, there’s how the suicide thing was just kind of brushed off to the side and never mentioned again. That’s not how being suicidal works. It clings to you, refuses to go away. It’s a dark cloud constantly hovering over your head, hiding behidn your thoughts, sneaking up on you when you least expect it. But we never saw any of that.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon:
Imma cheat and say a few things instead of just the one. I want to see Takeshi struggling with depression and the guardians pitching in to help him stay afloat. I want to see him attending therapy and talking about his problems. I want to see him considering it, considering dying, and calling Tsuna at three AM and just talking. I want to see him deal with his depression, deal with being suicidal. I want to see Hayato going out of his way to make sure Takehsi feels involved, and pretending he isn’t doing just that. I want to see Chrome make him little crafts to cheer him up when he’s feeling down. I want to see Mukuro writing tiny poems and leaving them to cheer up his day. I want to see Hibari offering to spar to help Takehsi work through his issues. I want to see Lambo--sweet, tiny, five year Lambo--climb into Takehsi’s lap and demand to sit there just because he can see--can tell because he’s felt it before, before he met Tsuna, before he came to Nanimori--Takeshi’s loneliness. I want to see Ryohei coming up and shouting encouragement, Haru talking with him about baseball themed costumes, Nana cooking his favorite food--
Just. I want to see people helping Takeshi. I want to see him deal with his issues. I want his suicide attempt to not be brushed aside like it was.
