my love for arctic monkeys seems so normal to me and then I start talking to my family and I’m like ‘wow I sound fucking insane’
#I’m at dinner with my cousins and our parents and I’m trying to explain them and their music and I sound like a mad woman#my dad was like ‘yeah she played me some on our drive down to NJ’#he said their early stuff was ‘rough’ but their later stuff was nice#he liked more of it than he thought he would#and like WOW PAPA#you keep this to yourself but now you are giving your whole album review to the family#and he’s like ‘yeah and she’s explained all the songs to me as she’s playing them and talked about how their sound changed’#like yes of course you need the LORE you need the back story#I can’t play you something from WPSIATWIN and then play The Car without giving some context#it’s actually wild#it’s like that scene from mean girls where Cady is like ‘I can feel people getting annoyed but I can’t stop talking about it’#it’s like word vomit#LIKE IT REALLY IS#an entertaining evening overall
