ever think about how in tnp bramble is suspicious of hawk until the /moment/ they visit tiger together? and then gets mad at squilf for expressing an opinion he used to agree with?

Actually! The moment Bramble stops being suspicious of Hawkfrost is when he's jealous of Squilf's magical telepathic bond to her sister. It's like spite. It fascinates me that you can read it as though Brambleclaw is being consumed by jealousy, trying to have everything that Squilf does, as though his "hatred" of her is coming from envy.

Are there any things you wish you could add or change for your rewrite but can’t because you were caught between two ideas that just can’t work together?

Probably StarClan Mapleshade, it fits best for her to be a Dark Forest Demon but I'm still fond of my old Better Call Mapleshade AU. If she was the StarClan defense attorney I wanted her to be, she would take screentime away from cats who are more relevant to the 'defendants.'

On a more technical level I'm having a pacing issue in my TNP notes that might end up eliminating a scene I REALLY like. In summary, the Sundrown Patrol re-converges to parley the state of each Clan, and how ready they are to move. It's Brambleclaw's POV.

During this scene, he swoons about Stormfur a bit, and takes a very simple statement from Tawnypelt as an insult. She says, "ThunderClan, where do you stand?" and he thinks she's trying to avoid calling him, her brother, by name. He wonders if this is about how he brought up TigerClan during the trip, if she's mad at him, how different things have been since Feathertail--

And his thought spiral is interrupted by Squirrelpaw reporting, "we're ready to rock and roll!!" Wrapped up in his own head, he'd forgotten that he isn't the only cat representing ThunderClan, and interpreted her statement in a bizarrely specific way.

BUT I'm having trouble saving it, because I need RiverClan to agree to the Cat Rescue Mission. It may get cut and replaced with a gathering so the Clans are all in one place... but then I had another idea that Reedwhisker stumbles onto the meeting and begs for help, because Hawkfrost just got taken in a human trap.

Soo basically something might get lost in the shuffle
