#I have drawn so many 2003 turtles at this point

It's official! I love the 2003 turtles SO MUCH! Like, just look at him! He got excited and jumped into this goofy pose and I love it so much! He looks so happy, and it's making me happy!!

Also I kind of just took a really low quality picture in the moment and then decided to try and see how close I could recreate it. So sorry this screenshot is so grainy. Someday I'll figure out how to take good screenshots without just taking a picture of my computer screen

2003 Alternate Caravaggios✨✨✨✨

Watching 2003 they gave.. four or five episodes..? That showed many different dimensions, two including alternate versions of the Turtles and their world basically✨ (The Leosagi can wait until later, heh). To get to the point, I have drawn my OC Gio into the 2003 universe, and now he's drawn into these alternate universes✨ (including one I made up that Gio goes to in that string of episodes✨) -Info-Dump Beyond This Point-

Going in order I suppose, first up is the Super Turtle Team's own: Nano-Turtle✨✨ ..Ahem.. His power is that he can manage technology with his mind, some techopathy✨ He isn't that knowledgeable of HOW to operate some technology... but one day he found Nanites, being the hive-mind sort of technology that simply needs to be told what to do, was manageable✨ Not like that first bit would be brought up in conversation of that episode, but ye✨ He simply told the nanites to make him a suit to protect the parts that weren't shell✨ Not a real tech suit really just for protection because it's not Nano-Turtle's area of expertise. He uses tools for most fights because he'd need the materials to tell the nanites to make something (which there is no time for in a fight), and sure if they fight a robot Nano-Turtle could be VERY helpful. But other than that he needs a quick and easy way to battle, that being pre-prepared tools and weapons✨ Since Sliver has all the same powers he could also just make Nano-Turtle's nanites stop working, which is another reason Nano-Turtle sticks with tools for a fight. I dunno, I don't normally make comic-book heroes, but he's good✨

Take a Wild Guess where THIS Gio is from? ..W-Wrong. He's from the Bad Future Donnie was sent to. This episode was definitely one of THE DARKEST episodes, and I can only imagine how Donnie feels about his family knowing what happens when he, or any of them, would disappear. But this isn't an info-dump about Donnie, it's an info-dump about Gio Call it being lazy, but I decided that this drawing of him is the last thing anyone even REMEMBERS of him. Nobody knows where Gio IS. Basically, with all the death and Leo and Raph fighting, and everything going on.. Gio was going through a LOT of emotional turmoil and struggle. He was constantly stressed, sleep-deprived because he was still worried about where Donnie was.. His family was his comfort during change, and in the changing world as his family left and fell apart.. just took its toll on him. He did good fighting while he was there, it was one thing to take out his turmoil on. He was more reckless however, not thinking about anything but destruction of the enemy for causing all this pain. He never was good at handling his emotions, but now there was no reason to push them to the side. It could be a thing where Mikey just talks about Raph and Leo and Splinter, then Donnie asks to gather their brothers to defeat Shredder, Leo and Raph arrive. Then Donnie turns to Mikey and asks about Gio. Mikey explains how nobody knows where he is, or if he's alive. He just left one day, walked around grabbing some items and left. Donnie's still able to stop Shredder and such but ye. Gio just cracked and nobody knows where he went. Or if he's alive. If he's dead then his brothers can tell him Donnie came back in heaven. If he's alive and just somewhere else.. well unless April can find him he doesn't know his family is dead, or that Donnie was okay. *pats pats for Gio*

There isn't much to this one, visually and in story, but basically this is the universe Gio was sent to: Genderbent. ..It was that or a universe where they were never mutated but.. what would he even do? He meets.. *tries to remember the names* Levina, Diana, Rachel, Marianna, and Catarina in a universe where the genders are.. bent obviously. Gio doesn't like being plopped in a new place without his family or at least a comfort item, so he's on edge and maybe the female TMNT just take him as some rude guy. He does explain he's from a world where he and his brothers are just them but, obviously, male. Gio maybe helps them fight or something, I dunno, I didn't put much thought into this universe. There could be some dialogue when he returns and explain where he was maybe Mikey chimes in all, "Which girl version of us was the prettiest? Me?✨" And then Gio just goes to bed because he did not like his adventure. And he envies Donnie for going to a miserable world instead of where he ended up.

Now these aren't alternate universes, BUT.. I watched a video compilation of the Dark Turtles and initially drew just Dark Gio because I liked the Dark Turtles✨ But ultimately caved and drew Gio in the future outfit and.. the style change.. I don't like this style. But it's better than when the teetlez have EYES. They look cursed in some way (the redrawn tots look very cursed too, I've seen clips), and if they all have the big shiny eyes it takes away from their personalities. Mostly Raph because how can he be angry tough boy with big shiny baby anime eyes? Hate Rant aside, Gio doesn't like being in 2105, he never liked travel of any kind. It's unfamiliar, uncomfortable. But his brothers are there and he spends the first few days stalking around, and familiarizing himself with where he is. Dark Gio is fun for me✨ His jaw can unhinge like a snake, not really a controlled thing however, when he talks his jaw just opens and ye, so he wears that thing on his face to hold his jaw. It may also serve as a device Darius uses to shut him up. Because Dark Gio inherited the curiosity genes and also speaks his mind without think, and Darius doesn't like when Dark Gio suggests, "Did you create us for destroying the turtles or to deflect your failure?" and remarks such as, "Ah, of course, because losing to the turtles was done on PURPOSE. Maybe next time design clones who will lose on ACCIDENT." Dark Gio just also spends a lot of time thinking to himself. He meets Gio and is suddenly VERY curious about who Darius had cloned him from. But he also just wants to destroy Gio because his existence is the cause of his miserable existence. While fighting (either with his brothers or the turtles), he will just take off his face thing, unhinge his jaw, and begin eating his opponent✨

Gale’s Top 5: Best Animated Reboots

Rules:

1. One per franchise (Like for example, if its Batman cartoon. I can’t pick another batman reboot. But I can pick a super man reboot)

2. I have to have Watched the series, Both the Original and the Reboot before I can make any judgements on it. ( So Spoiler, She Ra will not be on the List. because I have seen the Original She Ra, but not seen the current one.)

3. It has to be a complete reboot, it cant be a sequel series or simply the same show with updated animation. It has to be its own thing. (I.E Dragon Ball Z Kai is not a reboot, it is still the exact same plot wise as Dragon ball z, just cut out a lot of filler and updated the animation)  I cant pick Batman Beyond, because that is technically a Sequel to Batman the Animated Series.

4. To be considered a Reboot, it needs to have source material to reboot from.

5. Voltron: Legendary Defender

This is a very Divisive pick for me. Especially with how the last season went. But Despite the... Ball drop in that season. The show was very captivating! Gorgeous animation, wonderful universe building, interesting plot developments. The revamps to characters like Lotor and Pidge are my personal favorites in comparison to the original series. I found myself drawn in to the intense space battles as well as the fun filler episodes. Sure it cant beat the original in its cheesy dialogue and its initial impact on the giant robot genre. But it does develop the characters in interesting ways... until the last season. Which I am just going to say. If you get into this show. Stop just before starting the last season. Just do yourself that favor.

I still like the reboot and it did a lot right... It also just did a LOT wrong too...

4. Sonic Boom

I know this is quite a shock to see this higher then Voltron, but hear me out. This show is really f***Ing funny. This show is as good as the game it is based off of was awful. 

Sonic and his friends play off each other wonderfully. Season 2 really shows off the best humor. Eggman steals the show whenever on screen. Its hilarious.

Though technically it is a reboot of Sonic so it counts.

What really sells the show is the witty dialogue. The show doesn't take itself too seriously and will make amazing jabs at themselves, the fandom, the games, etc. This show’s 4th wall breaking antics are something to behold, dead pool himself would give this a thumbs up. 

People will argue that Sonic X or Sonic SatAm are superior. Sonic SatAM was only good because Eggman was so evil and really it was competing with that wacky other sonic cartoon.

Sonic X would have beaten this if Chris thorndyke had died at some point in the series but he didn't so it fails.

3. Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated

Scooby doo has so many f***ing reboots that you could argue it has had one every year for the last 20 years.

But let me tell you, Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated is head and shoulders above the rest.

The way this show went about character building, The comedic jokes, the tightly knit canon, the ever changing status quo, yet staying true to all of the characters. The ongoing mystery in the series, building up to by far, one of the most BAT S*** INSANE  climaxes I have ever seen. It is so amazing the amount of callbacks and developments that occur in the show. It is hard to nail down. With how lack luster the other Scooby doo reboots were, this one just went bananas and took it to a full untapped level, and I love it.

Seriously, please check out this show if you love Scooby Doo. Even if you don't, just watch it for the amazing mystery.

2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)

As someone that grew up with the 2003 Reboot on 4kids. Picking this one is no small feat.

I ADORE TMNT, It is one of my favorite Franchises of all time.

The 2012 reboot of the series gives us the most fleshed out versions of the turtles, re-introducing old characters and New characters. The intimidating performance of the Shredder. 

I remember watching this and thinking that there was no way they could beat the series that was so good, it got 2 sequel series. (which both sucked) but still.

The show goes to great lengths to give character to each Turtle, and really shows the feud between Splinter/ Hamoto and Shredder/ Oroku.

The plot twists this show did were also quite incredible. I also feel this show captured the spirit of the original 1980′s cartoon while giving a much more modern flare to it. The 2003 version just couldn't balance as much as the other series could. 

This one was consistently amazing all the way through and a perfect way to introduce people to the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

Andre from black nerd comedy  ( a personal fav Youtuber) did a lot of reviews on the episodes. Would recommend watching.

1. Ducktales (2017)

I say this without even a shadow of a doubt. Ducktales 2017 is by far, the greatest Reboot of an old tv series to have ever been created and potentially will ever be created.

I could write research papers about how each and every character has been improved. The inclusion of DELLA DUCK! Donald Duck’s best written interpretation to date.

But what sets this apart from all other reboots is the fact that this is an expanding universe of the Disney afternoon. This show is a Disney afternoon Reboot. It is a love letter to that time when kids would rush home to watch Disney.

Never has a reboot been so lovingly crafted. There is not a single thing wrong with this show. I can not feasibly think of a single fault in the show. The amount of heart and soul in every frame of this show is the equivalent of a Disney Renaissance.

Even if you have Never seen the Disney afternoon in any form. I would recommend this show, because it is still a really great show. it changes and grows, there are consequences and GOOD lessons learned.

I do my damnedest to watch every episode when it airs.

I seriously can not recommend this show enough.

ALRIGHT, BUCKLE UP EVERYONE, I JUST WATCHED THE TMNT 2003 EPISODE “The King” (introduces Kirby, the artist guy that was living in April’s basement apartment) AND I HAVE MANY FEELINGS ABOUT THIS EPISODE!!!

SO IT STARTS OFF GOOFY, THE GUYS HANGING OUT AT APRIL’S APARTMENT BECAUSE OF THE FOOT SEARCHING IN THE SEWERS FOR THEM, AND DONNIE HAS TO FIX THE WATER HEATER, APRIL TELLING HIM TO AVOID HER BASEMENT TENANT. (And Donnie, we saw in the episode how you can avoid being seen, you could have hidden from him, but you were too curious you goof.) SO WE MEET THIS GUY, KIRBY, WHO IS VERY CHILL ABOUT MEETING A GIANT BIPEDAL TURTLE.

AND THE THINGS HE DRAWS COME TO LIFE BECAUSE OF THE CRYSTAL ON HIS PENCIL, BUT ALL BUT THIS PORTAL HE’S DRAWN HAVE DISAPPEARED. 

DONNIE, BEING DONNIE, JUST WALTZES RIGHT INTO THIS UNKNOWN PORTAL, CONVINCES KIRBY TO COME ALONG, AND FIND THIS AMAZING LOOKING PLACE WHICH IS FILLED WITH ALL THE THINGS KIRBY HAS DRAWN.

IT’S ALL COOL, YOU’VE GOT MONSTERS ATTACKING THIS CITY FILLED WITH PEOPLE, AND DONNIE AND KIRBY HELP OUT WITH KIRBY DRAWING COOL STUFF LIKE THIS!

IN THE END, KIRBY SAVES THE DAY, THEY BEAT THE MONSTERS, EVERYONE’S HAPPY AND EVERYTHING! GOOD WAY TO END THE EPISODE, ON A HAPPY NOTE, RIGHT??? I GUESS FREAKING NOT! BECAUSE THEN, AS DONNIE AND KIRBY WHO ARE NOW BUDDIES ARE WALKING BACK TO THE PORTAL, IT STARTS GOING HAYWIRE!

SO DONNIE GOES THROUGH FIRST SO HE CAN PULL KIRBY THOUGH, SO THEY CAN BOTH GET HOME SAFE, BUT THEN DONNIE GETS STUCK AND CAN’T PULL KIRBY THROUGH BEFORE THE PORTAL SHRINKS OUT OF EXISTENCE!

LOOK WHAT YOU DID!!! LOOK HOW DEVASTATED HE LOOKS!!! WHY WOULD YOU HURT HIM LIKE THIS!?! AND THAT’S NOT EVEN THE END OF IT! KIRBY, KNOWING HE WOULDN’T BE ABLE TO GET THROUGH IN TIME, IN THE LAST FEW MOMENTS OF THE PORTAL BEING OPEN, SENDS THIS THROUGH TO DONNIE.

ONE LAST EMOTIONAL PUNCH TO THE GUT! A NOTE ADDED TO THE DRAWING OF DONNIE THAT KIRBY DID! I CAN’T EVEN THINK OF ANY WORDS BECAUSE I’M JUST SCREAMING SO MUCH ABOUT THIS! FREAKING HECK, WHY’D YOU HAVE TO DO THAT TO KIRBY WRITERS, WHY??? 😭😭😭

Edit:  Ok, @sehowlawoods​ pointed out that this was a tribute episode and Kirby represented a comic book writer that passed away. So I feel really bad about ranting about the episode now, they did a really good job of making a really good character and I was sad to see him go, which was probably their intentions. So sorry.

More TMNT Junk (this time 2003 post-canon!)

Soooooo I was vaguely thinking about posting this, and then I saw shit that the soggy cheetoh’s doing on my dash, and decided screw it-- to temporarily shove aside that unpleasant BS here’s some more TMNT stuff.

(Full disclaimer, most of this came from me babbling to @sounddrive about this concept. Plus a couple added things thanks to @babblingweirdnonsense. Because why the hell not?)

Just imagine the 2003 turtles living a ridiculously long time. I mean ridiculously long. Like still going strong when they’re around 121. (You can’t really tell me that it couldn’t happen when the Ninja Tribunal are thousands of years old and still look like they’re in their 30s-40s. If they can do it, so can these boys.)

It might be their mutation or it might be their level of chi control (or it might be both), and somehow Usagi's hanging on as long as they have (because separating Leo from his husband after that long would be cruel).

Yes you read that right, we’re going full-on Leosagi/katanashipping for this.

Of course with them being so old that brings up the question of why they wouldn’t have been present for the events of season 6 (since most of it takes place 100 years after they were 18). But I’ve got an explanation for that!

20 years prior to those events they got caught up in a war in Usagi's world and got stuck there. It wasn't supposed to become a war-- it was probably originally just supposed to be a vacation, time away from loud city noises and all that-- but nope! One thing led to another and escalated out of control, and they couldn't turn their backs because that wouldn't be fair-- and then some pain-in-the-ass magic user tried to trap them in that world (maybe to make sure they couldn't get reinforcements).

- Needless to say, they weren’t happy about that.

- So much inventive swearing from Raph. SO MUCH.

Plus Mikey probably adopting who knows how many kids. Because it’s Mikey and he’d hate the idea of leaving any orphaned kid behind when he can do anything about it.

- Though of course this is in addition to any kids he had already adopted over the decades who were spread out over their world and Usagi’s. So he just ends up with even more kids even though he’s already a grandpa... and a great-grandpa... and very likely a great-great-grandpa.

- Mikey will not be stopped.

- Leo and Usagi probably also have their own gaggle of adopted kids/grandkids/great-grandkids (although some actually related to Usagi through his son Jotaro, which is the family secret everyone pretends not to know, at least in Usagi's world), but they've got nothing on the sheer number of children and babies Mikey has taken in. There've been jokes that Mikey alone is going to completely rebuild the Hamato clan just through the number of kids he takes in.

Donnie in Usagi’s world mourns his lack of access to the tech he's used to, but he's been figuring out work-arounds. Mainly because sometimes when he's out in the field he wants nothing more than to just electrocute someone in a fight. What scares others is that he's got several nieces/nephews/etc. who have taken an interest in his inventions and tech to the point that they're sometimes referred to as a specific 'sub-division' of the Hamato clan (which can 'command lightning' and other such claims that most of them scoff at).

Raph's also got parts of the family that will happily glom onto him and follow him around and gleefully switch into 'coordinated ninja mode' when he gives the signal. People outside of the family tend to see Raph as one of the most terrifying of the family, but everyone in the family see him as a big old teddybear.

- Raph tends to lean on the 'scary' facade to keep people at a distance, because by that point he knows that if he doesn't then he's going to end up with a fan club. Again. And people are going to be throwing themselves at him. AGAIN. And he learned his lesson the last time (mostly).

- Though not being able to go anywhere in Japan in Usagi's world when he was about 50 without having people trying to throw themselves at him in increasingly desperate attempts to court him or while pledging their undying love to him was enough of a nightmare that he's amazed that sometimes he still forgets about trying to maintain a distance. Even worse, he still has a few diehard hangers-on that have yet to give up even though they've been trying to chase him for decades. (Usagi thinks this is absolutely hilarious and routinely ends up in cackling fits with Leo over it.)

- Mikey sometimes helps Raph dodge his fans and plays innocent if they spot him.

- (Raph was not counting on being seen as so attractive the first time he went to Usagi's world. For several subsequent visits he still wasn't prepared. When he found out about the first 'fan club' the poor man almost fainted, only to end up hiding for about five hours instead.)

People in that world are reasonably unsurprised by the fact that the turtles are still around (because I can easily imagine turtles in that world on average probably being a little longer-lived), but the surprise comes in with the fact that Usagi's still alive.

- He has made vague comments that maybe living with turtles for so long has affected him.

- He's also made vulgar jokes of varying levels of subtlety that have led Leo to facepalm, blush, clamp a hand over Usagi's mouth, or deliberately interrupt so that he won't have to hear one more comment about how sleeping with Leo has 'magically extended' his life.

- Mikey is terrible and cackles every time. Naturally he encourages Usagi's comments just because Leo is 'Too Old For This Shit™', and therefore it's all the more hilarious to him.

- Usagi’s comments may have drawn them more attention than Leo would prefer.

Usagi: "The true secret of immortality is to worship the flesh of the Kappa Ninjas. I have bedded the leader, and he in turn worships my flesh and gives me life."

Leo: "Stop telling people that sleeping with me will make them live longer."

Usagi: -winking- "I'm trying to make our bed a bit more fun."

- Leo: "...Look what you did. I bet you're proud of yourself."

Usagi: -smirks- "I am indeed. After all, I know all about the magic of a skilled turtle."

Leo: ". . .I love you, but please stop saying words.”

- Raph and Donnie have mastered 'tuning this shit out for the umpteen-millionth time™'. (The kids still have various levels of shrieking about it though, which is part of what makes it so hilarious to Usagi and Mikey both. They both have a terrible sense of humor.)

Mikey's go-to excuse for why he won't settle down with someone while they're stuck in that world for those 20 years is that he's "married to being a parent" and doesn't have time for a partner. Considering the number of great/grand/kids he has, no one's going to disagree.

- It’s mostly because he doesn’t want to end up in the same situation as Raph.

Then there's the perpetual argument over whether Mikey trying to refer to their family as a clan of 'ninjurai' or 'roninja' is remotely acceptable. He insists that both mashup terms fit perfectly since their family is made up of so many ninja and samurai/ronin. Most of the family disagrees on the principle of 1) those aren't real words, and 2) as old as he is why does he still insist on butchering Japanese as much as possible? (He insists because even as an old man he gets a kick out of being a little shit.)

- Other contenders for mashup terms Mikey’s gotten his family to shoot down are: samuninja, shinorai, ronobi, shininja, and rinjarai.

- Even his great/grand/kids have jokingly threatened to disown him for that.

- The argument has had various iterations going for decades

Everyone who knows anything about the family knows that if they want to interact with anyone who gives a sense of being calm, respectful, polite, and so on to go to Leo. And yet despite this everyone also knows that the five old men are possibly the best fighters in Japan; that all five of them are skilled, resourceful, and responsible. It still doesn't change the fact that at times Leo seems to be the only one who cares even a tiny bit about formality anymore.

- It also doesn't help that Leo probably knows entirely too many secrets from too many high-ranking officials scattered throughout that world's Japan.

- 'Oh yes! The responsible one! The leader! Now we can get some proper negotiations out of the wa- Oh no. It's him.'

- Old man Leo keeping a polite face even while the barest hint of a smile is on his face and amusement is dancing in his eyes-- because he knows.

Donnie's gotten so used to saying outrageous things in a deadpan due to having to occasionally explain his tech as 'magic' that there are times where he'll say something like, "No, it's intended to make an entire wall of a building explode if you sneeze near it," without even giving a hint that he knows he said anything that doesn't make sense.

- Raph may or may not have scared off some obnoxious would-be trouble-makers by telling them that if they didn't straighten up that he'd tell Donnie to just go ahead and summon the demons already.

- Leo's given up trying to tell the two of them to not say things that imply they're sacrificing people in some sort of twisted blood ritual. He's just grateful that their reputation is so wide-spread and they're so well-thought-of (if regarded as very strange) that most people seem to know not to take those comments seriously.

- Usagi may have once claimed that he was sacrificed and brought back from the dead several weeks in a row. Leo just rolled his eyes and pretty much told him to stop telling people that he'd let his brothers ritualistically kill his husband on a regular basis.

When Mikey wants to be lazy or a pest at the kids, he absolutely pulls the 'I'm old, I'm so achy and tired, I can't possibly get to my feet and walk that short distance to get (insert whatever here)' card. No one buys it. They've seen him in a fight, during training, etc. They know he's not 'frail', 'weak', or 'fragile' no matter how much he plays it up.

- Which at least once has resulted in a bout of--

"I can't possibly go on! I'll just stay here. And die. Of thirst. Because my grandchild who I thought loved me won't help dear old Grandpa."

"Grandpa. You were running across rooftops an hour ago. I highly doubt that you 'can't' get up."

"Dying. Of thirst. Leo! Leo, are you there?! Everything... going... dark..."

Leo just shaking his head. "No one in the family believed it when we were kids, no one's believing it now."

"I... can't possibly... move..." Over-exaggerated theater gasp.

"...Grandpa. I don't believe you. That didn't even sound close to a death rattle. And you can see the tea kettle from where you're sitting."

"...Too bad I don't have a good swivel-chair here."

"Mikey, no."

- (This is another sub-point you can thank @babblingweirdnonsense for.)

Mikey: “Child! Please give me that plate of food one foot away from me. My knees hurt.”

Child: “Father, I saw you beating an enemy ninja not two hours ago.”

Mikey: “I am sore from the fight.”

Child: “You were doing a handstand five minutes ago.”

Mikey: “I can no longer walk on my feet! Only my arms work now.”

When they’re finally able to go back to their world (a year after their younger selves return to their time) the media almost has a meltdown. Especially since Cody is able to confirm that they’re them. (Because realistically you can’t tell me that Donnie isn’t a famous scientist in that time. All four of them probably ended up in history books.)

Donnie keeps his deadpan semi-nonsense explanations. (Explaining to family or someone who gets what he’s talking about or doing is one thing. To others? He’ll still say things like “It’s magic” and leave it at that.)

- "No, really, how does it work?"

"The power of jesus."

- It even carries over to Donnie talking to reporters.

Reporter: “Where were the four of you for all these years?”

Donnie: "I could tell you-"

Raph: "-but then he'd have to kill you."

Donnie: "-No I wouldn't. But it'd be difficult to answer."

Reporter: "Could you try to explain?"

Donnie: "...Somewhere over the rainbow and in another dimension."

Raph: "Don, we weren't in frickin' Kansas."

Donnie: "Close enough."

Raph: "No it wasn't. Wasn't even on the same side o' the planet.”

Kimiko Hamato, my precious ninja turtle girl <3 created her in fourth grade, which was when I started getting into art. But because I was a child and did not like losing nor did I understand the purpose of storytelling or making sense, she so DISGUSTINGLY overpowered. Always needing to win, had magic powers with a magic orb, and a Phoenix dragon hybrid thing spirit that would let her go full Avatar/ Super Saiyan destructo mode when reaching a level of enragement...yeah it was horrible.

Kimiko originally started off as the baby sister of the turtles, aside from her 2007 movie incarnation where she was in love with Leonardo, which I scrapped some time after because I again, I was a stupid child and thought Renoir and everything MNT Gaiden was actually cannon to the 2003 series...and I paired her with Renoir not knowing he was a simple OC who belonged to someone else...trust me, I STILL hate that.

I officially posted the original drawing of her (I sadly lost the picture and you can't see it very well) around 2008 when I discovered the internet and fanfiction and the TMNT fandom and deviantart and roleplay. Needless to say, I was HORRIBLE at everything I did, that and I was a brat xD

The first time I showed her to someone, an old friend and the first person I ever met in the internet, Erika, who also went by NinjaDoodler/Donnies-lil-Ninja, she liked my character a lot, though I thought it was silly myself..she even drew her too!

That was also when I started drawing digitally with good ole' MS Paint! I used to use bases because I was terrible at free hand, later, one of the TMNT artists (Pinkstickerz) I greatly looked up to started making tutorials when it came to making OCs with bases, she kind of issued a base challenge which I tried, and thus, Kimiko was given a makeover and hair. At some point, I tried moving away from using bases, then stuck with pen and paper for a while.

At that point, I was having a dilemma when it came to Kimiko's weapons and was trying to limit the magic she wielded. I gave her many different weapons, from a bow and arrow, to daggers, eventually giving in and giving back her swords because I felt like they were apart of her character.

I wanted to make her more unique as well, so I sized down her shell as a side effect of the mutagen that mutated her.

I roleplayed with her some, but eventually stopped as I felt it was better for her to be a story character than an RPC. That moment, I started to like writing stories more than roleplay. I love to roleplay, but I really only stuck to only very few people because I was super shy...

By 2015, I started using Paint Tool Sai after relying on Paint. NET for a large period of time, I redesigned Kimiko again as I had gotten better at character design and was starting to get into writing fanfiction. I completely took off the magic powers and gave her more personality and ultimately paired her with Leonardo again because I felt they were perfect together. She's dark and edgy but also bubbly and carefree.

There were also two different stories for her, one for 2003 and one for 2012, and I am currently in the middle of writing both.

My friend Erika, from before, had drawn her with these markings on her arm and leg, which I really liked, but younger me forgot about them, but later I ended up using this idea for her Ninja Tribunal markings.

Sometimes when I think about it, Kimiko shows just how much of an artist and a person I've grown into..I love her so so much <3
