So i've been a longtime rock climbing fan and recently have become obsessed with crack climbing (where you jam your hands, feet, arms, etc in a crack in the rock and use the fruction to pull yourself up, see pic below) and between this and the fact that every single recounting of a caving incident i've ever seen just makes me want to go caving more, I think that the universe put me in The Netherlands, a country with zero mountains or natural caves, on purpose because otherwise i'd be dead.

#Climbing #Caving #To be clear whenever i hear of people who got stuck in caves i'm not SO filled with hubris that i think i could do better #I'm just like 'ok so i wanna do the ONE level of danger below this where i don't die'#People always react to those stories like 'i can't imagine what would posess someone to shove themselves into these inhumanely tiny holes'#And i get it completely. Whatever posesses them it's posessing me too #I did do caving abroad once when i was like 12-ish with my dad who did NOT enjoy it. But i did. Only downside is it's very cold and wet.#But that comes with the whole being in a dark cold wet cave thing. Gotta take the good with the bad.#I have whatever the opposite of claustrophobia is.
