Wildmoore Week, Day Three: when you started shipping them...

I'm still in between on whether I'll post something new, but I will re-share three things. and get just a little emotional on main. I started shipping Ryan and Sophie around 2x05 because I loved the way they worked together. But once we hit 2x13, I knew I had to write about them.

so, the first fic I wrote for them was in May 2021, and it spun the couch Never Have I Ever scene into a moment for our girls. That was you thinkin' about me? and it was the fourth Wildmoore story ever posted on AO3. (you can read it here.) there are now 332 Wildmoore stories on AO3, at the time of me posting this.

my notes for it read:

Who would’ve thought I could write a fic with two canon Black lesbians in a CW superhero show? Not me. Do they make out in this? No. Is it considered? Yes. There's a long road from enemies to besties/lovers, and I personally am on board for however it shakes out. Love both Ryan and Sophie so much.

I'm so fucking grateful for how the last ten months have shaken out.

now again, I posted the fourth ever Wildmoore fic, and I immediately was like, oh, we need a five times fic. So I started writing one, but I ended up scrapping it. I did, however, post two of those five times later.

the first was in the beginning, which is a Crowphie meets Ryan moment. I posted it as the 100th Wildmoore fic in late November. (read it here) it's a pre-canon moment with talk of Angelique and jabs about Sophie wearing the wedding ring Tyler got her; it's a grumpy but playful Ryan and a still closeted Sophie, and it's a version of the two of them that we only see echoes of in canon.

and the second was The Mile Don't Die Club, a 2x08 continuation where we're on the plane with Sophie and Batwoman after Coryana and at the clinic to follow. (read it here) it's angsty, it's cute, it's flirty, and it's everything we know our girls to be.

this probably hasn't been a great retroactive post, but I just wanted to share how fucking proud I am of all of us, particularly those of us who've been in the fandom for a while and who've been with Ryan and Sophie since "Hey Soph, love the hair," or "the chick who just saved your life," or Javicia's casting announcement and all the BTS footage of how genuinely happy everyone seemed filming s2. this show means a lot to me. so, thank you, thank you, thank you for being a part of this journey, this fandom, and my life.
