It's way past midnight where I am and I am sitting in a church attic with the rain pouring outside, airpods in streaming Blue Bucket of Gold by Sufjan Stevens, staring down a painting of Jesus as I'm writing. What if heaven was a small wooden attic surrounded by motifs of God? What if serenity was peaceful solitude without the gnawing fear that you're alone?
