What kind of clothing do you think Wash would wear? I'm thinking of cosplaying him but I don't want to make a full set of armor for my third cosplay lol
Oh wow that's a really interesting question! I'm a bit surprised, because I wouldn't say I'm specialized in this kind of stuff, but I hope I can give you some ideas! Not going for a full armor without tons of experience is understandable, but it doesn't mean you need to compromise on the aesthetic. Yellow decals are pretty telling when it comes to his armor, so slapping them in seems like a good option in general! As for the clothing, that depends what are you going for. My general HC choices of characters' outfits are a simple variation of pretty standard tactical gear like cargo pants , combat boots and different kinds of Under Armour-ish tops. If I were going for something really simple I'd just choose the colors of the base and paint/print the decal on top of it. Maybe add a little tag with a name. To answer more in detail when it comes to my thoughts of what he'd wear on daily: I think hoodies are a safe choice for Wash. It's a flexible clothing and fits him as he's active and training-focused . It's also very simple to customize. If you're making a PFL era Wash you could slap yellow logo of PFL on with huge WASHINGTON on the back and make some parts of it yellow (maybe add stripes?). Keeping a color scheme while adding some kind of working gloves could be nice too. Either training/frequent gun usage is involved, so I think it makes sense for him to have those!
I think actual Halo concept art for standard troops could be a pretty good reference too. It's a base that you could modify and it's less complex than the full armor. Clothes that York and North are wearing in the Carolina's training spree flashback might help with casual angle- just tees with sweatpants and some logos (Mother of Invention was one of them I think, Blue Team insignia could work too- I think there's a lot of stuff to choose from!).
If you're looking for a sophisticated angle though. He was a sk8r boi- do what you will with this information.
