Which Spanish tracks do the Spanish riders consider their home GP?
Hey anon, thanks for the question.
This actually an interesting subject. So their home GP is the closest or the one in their same region as they were born/live or have close relationship. Some riders will wear special helmets for the occasion, such as Marc (Fermín have a special on because tomorrow's is the Mother's Day in Spain. He also had several helmet designs last year). Some riders do have more attachment and ties with the circuits than others.
Anyway, it's not as important as it may seem. Spanish media call all 4 GPs as their home GP, and some riders have attached to more than one circuit. Marc and Álex live close to MotorLand and Álex has expressed his liking and 'feeling at home' in the circuit.
Catalan GP: Joan Mir, Maverick Viñales, Pol Espargaró, Aleix Espargaró, Marc Márquez and Álex Márquez.
Spanish GP: Raúl Fernández and Jorge Martín.
Álex Rins is a study case. He was born in Barcelona (city) and his home circuit is Montmeló. At the same time, his whole family is from Aragón (I think they live close to the track), so he considered both GPs the GPs of home.
Martín has been spotted wearing a 'new' helmet design for the Aragón GP, and some people call Valencia the home GP for Raúl.
I hope this helps
