@kiralushia replied to your post “A question about your Luce post. I thought the...”:
I'm not sure Sephira was an arcobaleno, unless she turned into an arco way later. In that panel, Check Face says that the Arco are human sacrifices, but it goes against the fact that Sephira is not a human nor a sacrifice, since she's alive for centuries and we had different arco generations already before the creations of the rings (Giotto met Bermuda who was already a former arcobaleno, and he already was wearing the ring that he got from Sephira herself).
fair points! and i agree that panel is ambiguous and leaves room to different interpretations. but i think it's, like, 99% safe to say sepira was an arco at some point. here's a clearer version of that panel i zoomed in on:
Tumblr media
[ID copied from alt-text: Screenshot of a panel from the manga Katekyo Hitman Reborn. It's zoomed in on Sepira, showing her wearing the Giglio Nero hat and cape, as well as holding onto the round-shaped necklace around her neck. /End ID]
like, you still can't make out the pacifier 100%, but this is obviously a pacifier she's wearing. like, from context, you know? and it might or might not be the sky pacifier, but again, knowing all else that we know for a fact, it very likely is.
that said, that in itself still raises questions too, for sure. and i agree it seems counterproductive and/or illogical for sepira to have been an arco too, but i explained here how and why i could see it happen. as for the fact there were multiple generations of arco between the creation of the pacifiers and the rings, you're right and i had never actually realized it before!!! but i don't think that her long lifespan as an earthling necessarily goes against her having been the sky arco?
like, we already know thanks to luce, aria and uni, that the same generation of arco can and has to have different sky arco because of the short lifespan of the sky arco. so i don't think it's a stretch to assume the reverse can just as easily happen, the same sky arco for different generations of arco. on the other hand, we know that sepira, as an earthling, had naturally a long lifespan. and they were still five of them left when they created the pacifiers, but only two of them left (sepira and kawahira) by the time they created the rings too (which they had to because they were only the two of them left anymore by that point).
looking at those facts together, i can personally explain and make sense of sepira having been the sky arco in two different ways: 1) she's an earthling, a species with a long lifespan who are meant and are naturally suited to look after the trinisette. so to me it isn't a stretch to think the short lifespan curse of the sky pacifier wouldn't have affected her, which means she could have been the sky arco of all generations of arco from when they first created the pacifiers and until her long lifespan naturally ran out and she died.
or 2) she wasn't the first sky arco nor was she an arco at all at first, but then the five of them remaining kept dying one by one too until only the two of them were left, and before they resolved to create the rings too, the weight of the pacifiers became too much for humans to bear it alone, and so they added earthlings flames to the mix to sustain them a generation more until they created the rings. and then she does go on to die because of the short lifespan curse or it's coincidentally by the time her long lifespan will run out soon, but either way she had the time to first give the vongola rings to giotto and create the giglio nero to look after the mare rings. (and then the sky pacifier may or not have been passed down strictly through sepira's bloodine depending on your headcanons.)
was that clear? i hope so rsgdfgdfg.

HI? HELLO? THIUSDSTJK???? I DON'T DIVE INTO THE CROW TAG SO MAYBE SOMEONE HAS BUT WHY DON'T WE TALK ABOUT THIS???? Crow's profile is SO recent??? like Robo-Ky's profile here doesn't mention ANYTHING beyond what he was like in Accent Core.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ ID in alt text ]
No mention of XRD. One would think that's the same for Crow (where they're exclusively talking about what he was up to in Accent Core), but in Accent Core Crow was trying to decommission and scrap Robo-Ky. Absolutely not 'considering himself one of the few friends he has'. And the last line 'His current research is dedicated to finding the whereabouts of Robo-Ky'.....
I know this is absolutely not going to happen. But. What if the next 'Another Story' (if that's how they work? They're released every couple of dlc drops, right?).... Has Crow in it. And Robo-Ky. Or at least one of the 'Another Story's that gets released. Because I don't know why Crow's profile would talk about what he's currently doing when he hasn't shown up for so long.... Hmm? Hmmm? (I don't know why they say he's currently cloning Justice. He WAS making copies of Justice in AC, but to say he's CURRENTLY attempting to clone her.... Well, actually, that works. He wasn't really cloning her in AC, just making weaker copies. Maybe CURRENTLY he's trying to clone Justice. Hehehe.)
Also it's not important at all but the careful statement of 'some have theorized that he is of Japanese descent' is SO interesting to me. Wdym some theorize it? We don't know for sure..? Even though it was Baiken who threw that idea out there, there's the potential that she was wrong? Please tell me more. I'll be so normal
Anyway. Uhm. Who else is a Robo-Ky joining Strive this or next season with Crow as an important part of the next 'Another Story' truther.
This is so unorganized I might make something better later. Come. Take my hand. Be bonkers with me.

Well over a year ago I started a woodcut printing project with Matsu, Masa and Yaichi and it never really went anywhere. The fact that it maybe way too detailed wasn't even the main issue - I've completed overly detailed woodcut prints before - there was just something off about the drawing itself to begin with.
But a week ago I started my new job at the local Graphic Studio and I have to learn new techniques (I know, isn't it awful) because I'm gonna have to be able to explain it to people coming in to learn themselves. And one of those techniques is screen printing!
I've only observed and assisted so far (and learned so much already) but the plan for tomorrow is for me to do it myself, start to finish!
So I re-drew the aforementioned drawing and now I like it much, much better. I made two versions - The first is just line art, and the second is shaded with tiny dots and stripes - because I want to be able to go as detailed as possible.
(For the record: I am actually so psyched that I have to learn new techniques for this job!! Honestly cannot believe my luck.. About two years ago I was shown how to make a lithographic print by my now-colleague, but I'm gonna have to take a refresher course on that one. Those are the main two for now, but I'm sure I'll learn much more along the way.)

☆☆☆
(Spoilers in last two paragraphs)
Like most YA thrillers I read, this is on the more campy side, so if you're looking for something like Sadie by Courtney Summers, this isn't for you. I really like YA thrillers for that campiness, similar to why I love reading cozy mysteries. This one delivered that well, though the "woke" dialogue that popped up now and again took me out at times, though at least some of it is believable.
The narrator, Olivia, is a white, (presumably) straight scholarship student from Maryland attending a school full of the 1%. She's 18, so she's learning about social justice and believes she knows more than many of her classmates, having more real world experience than many of them will face, and she grasps this to give her a feeling of superiority. She needs to be a good person, especially when she helps her friends, The Ivies, sabotage their classmates to get a leg up in the competition to their first choice schools.
It could make Olivia grating to read at times, but for the most part, she was an easy protagonist to sympathize with. She'll need to learn not to babble and keep on a good poker face, though, if she wants to go into investigative journalism (granted, I'm not sure if it was specified what in journalism Olivia wants to focus on).
It was pretty easy to whittle down who the killer was. It wasn't Sierra or Margot, because I was very sure Donne wouldn't make a WOC kill the white girl. If Avery's sexuality had been revealed earlier, she would have been knocked out of the suspect pool also. I wanted it to be Ethan. It would have been more interesting if it had been Ethan, even if I usually hate the "one of the investigators was the killer all along" trope. It would make sense given his backstory, and it could have been an accident he made worse by trying to hide evidence, accidentally incriminating Olivia and helping her to both keep her from suspecting him but also having this internal war for possibly pushing her under a bus meant for him.
After its revealed Tyler did it, I just shrugged, and his speech made me laugh. Like I said, I enjoy YA thrillers for the campiness, but this seemed much. It would have helped if there'd been more hints of his utter disregard for human life. The closest I remember seeing of that was close to the end, where Olivia learns he'd written his college essay about how quarantine had given him time to learn more about himself, help delivery drivers by tipping them, and gain TikTok followers, and that's pretty generic "blinded by his own privilege" stuff. I did like how smug he is through the trials, safe in the knowledge people with his kind of money can easily get away with murder with little more than a slap on the wrist (though it's a bit different in this case, since while not as rich as the Monteforts and St. Clairs, Emma's family is rich, too, so they can play the game of media too, if they'd wanted, but it sounds like they'd pretty much disappeared after cleaning out Emma's dorm room).
Overall it was a fun read, and I added Donne's other YA thriller book to my TBR to see how she'd grown as a writer, since the skill is there.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that people often put image descriptions under an image instead of using alt text because not everyone who uses image descriptions uses screen readers, so alt text is actually less accessible in many cases. Separate descriptions might annoy you personally, but they are helpful for a lot of people. I know you mean well, but telling people not to write image descriptions isn't really helpful advice. I don't mean this as an attack on you, I just wanted to clarify that. Thanks for your time!
hey yeah no you're right.
I've made a few addendum reblogs highlighting and acknowledging corrections from when people who knew more than me informed me of this stuff and other things. there's just no way to like go back and edit posts after they've been thrown into the tumblr ether that affects the ones already out there unfortunately. which Iike....tbf this website would abuse the fuck out of that feature so...i can't say I blame them for not letting us.
to clarify, I wasn't annoyed in like a "this text underneath is annoying and obnoxious and I don't want to see it" way ever it was like "but there's a cool feature called alt tags why aren't we using it/it's frustrating that we're not using this cool thing" bc I thought I knew something others didn't and was formerly under the impression that alt tags would likely work better for screenreaders as I believe it was made to be used with them and was formerly not aware of other uses of ID tags/how people benefit form them. but like I also more than understand that I worded it like shit and I'm sorry I didn't look into it more before posting from a place of ignorance.
basically I didn't look into it enough and didn't know what the hell I was talking about and I'm not sure what else to do to rectify it but I'm open to ideas.

Sportsmail’s experts pick their award winners for this amazing season
It's been an amazing Premier League season, with the title race between Liverpool and Manchester City going down to the wire.
Records are broken, and we've also got four English teams in the two European finals, the first time any nation has achieved such a feat.
So, what did Sportsmail 's experts Danny Murphy and Jermaine Jenas think of the season? Read on to find out their picks for best player, best manager, and many more.
It has been an incredible Premier League title race between Manchester City and Liverpool
Best player
Murphy:
Virgil van Dijk
Not only have Virgil van Dijk's own displays been outstanding, has improved everyone around him in the Liverpool defense as well.
Jenas:
Raheem Sterling
Virgil van Dijk has been brilliant. But we knew that Liverpool had defensive issues. It was always going to be easier for him to stand out. For Sterling to do that in an already magnificent City attack shows just how phenomenal he is.
It's coming down to City's Raheem Sterling and Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk for player of the year
Best manager
Murphy:
Jurgen Klopp
You could make a case for Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola or Mauricio Pochettino if he wins the Champions League. But for Klopp to mount a title challenge and get to a European final is amazing.
Jenas:
Pep Guardiola
A close call between Guardiola and Klopp. But the consistency shown by City to Claw back that gap to Liverpool at the turn of the year has been relentless. They've beaten Spurs, United, Burnley and Leicester. Such pristine football.
There is no doubting that Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have the best managers
Best match
Murphy:
Man City 2 Liverpool 1
In the Premier League, it's Manchester City's 2-1 win against Liverpool at the Etihad. The quality allied to the intensity made it a brilliant watch. The most astonishing moment or drama came in the Champions League when Spurs scored their winner against Ajax deep into injury-time.
Best goal
Murphy:
Vincent Kompany v Leicester
I loved Arsenal's team goal earlier in the season scored by Aaron Ramsey but in terms of brilliance and importance, the incredible strike by Vincent Kompany against Leicester on Monday night takes some beating.
Jenas:
Andros Townsend v Manchester City
I know Kompany's strike was probably the one that won the title but the goal of the season, for me, comes down to technique. Andros Townsend will never hit a ball like that again. The way it moves, the cleanness of the strike.
Will Vincent Kompany's stellar strike be the goal that grants Manchester City the title?
Best signing
Murphy:
Joao Moutinho
For £ 5million, Joao Moutinho at Wolves has been an outstanding piece of business. He is calm, experienced, left-up play, controls tempo and has helped younger team-mates such as Ruben Neves. He's so reliable and a major factor in Wolves' wonderful season.
Jenas:
James Maddison
He has been outstanding. He was a good player at Norwich but what we have seen from his first Premier League campaign – from his creativity, his free-kicks – he will kick on again at Leicester.
Greatest flops
Murphy:
Manchester United
It will make people laugh because of my Liverpool connections, but I have to go with Manchester United. It has been a disastrous season – they have completely failed to deliver. People can debate who is to blame but the bottom line is they are well below what's needed.
Jenas:
Manchester United
Everyone can see a poor season but the biggest failing for me was how they slipped back again after winning all those games under Solskjaer. How they have allowed it to get back to where it was before? Where's the heart? It feels like proof it was not all Jose Mourinho's fault.
Manchester United have had a woeful season, proof that perhaps it wasn't all Mourinho's fault
What made me angry
Murphy:
James Maddison and Patrick Bamford
Players trying to get others sent off makes me mad, whether it's simulation or waving imaginary cards at the referee. James Maddison, a great talent, didn't cover himself in glory getting Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Arsenal in bother. As for Patrick Bamford against Aston Villa, embarrassing.
Jenas:
Racism returning
Racism in the stands which has not been dealt with strongly enough. On an international level, they've got to start banning countries from competitions. The great thing Sterling has done, in questioning the media's role in the perception of black players, is to force everyone to have that conversation. That is a huge positive. The issue is outside of football. In the streets, in schools, in local communities, in homes. That's where you need to hit it head on.
What made me laugh
Murphy:
Very sorry Trent!
At my own expense. I spent 10 minutes on the radio referring to Liverpool's great young full-back as Alexander Trent-Arnold. Boy, I've had stick ever since. Nothing I've said has been picked up so fast. Sorry, Trent!
Jenas:
Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham's Champions League win of Man City
When Sterling scored what looked like a late winner for Man City, I had my eyes on Pochettino. He ripped off his jacket, his jumper, his tie. He couldn't take the layers off quickly enough only then to realize it wasn't all over!
Mauricio Pochettino had a wonderful reaction after beating Man City in the Champions League
Best home fans
Murphy:
Newcastle United
I like the way Newcastle United fans backed Rafa Benitez and the players during difficult times. I'm sure it was one of the reasons they were able to turn their home form around and survive quite comfortably.
Jenas:
Tottenham
It's hard not to go with Anfield and the support they bring to the table – but I have to take my hat off to Spurs fans. They kept being told they were getting their new stage and could have spent the season angry and annoyed. But now they are home, the atmosphere is incredible.
Surprise package
Murphy:
James Maddison
I didn't know a lot about James Maddison at Norwich last year but he's duties to the Premier League like a duck to water. Quick-thinking, intelligent on the ball, a genuine prospect. Just cut out the simulation!
Jenas:
Watford
Wolves have been impressive but Watford have been even more of a surprise. They are on a course for a top 10 finish and have reached the FA Cup final. Javi Gracia has done a superb job.
James Maddison has done an outstanding job playing for Leicester City this season
Must do better
Murphy:
Alexis Sanchez
What has happened to Alexis Sanchez. It is very strange. He's one of my favorite players but has been so disappointing at Manchester United. I think they should keep him, if he stays he will have a big point to prove.
Jenas:
Brighton
I worry a bit for Chris Hughton. The fans are getting restless with the style of play at the Amex. He's a pragmatist, but he's got to get that place lifted.
Watch out for
Murphy:
Morgan Gibbs-White (Wolves)
The England Under 19 international is versatile and has the vision to play in midfield or off center-forward Raul Jimenez. He's a real talent and Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo will give him more football time next year.
England U19 international Morgan Gibbs-White is definitely one to look out for next season
Jenas:
Leicester City
I was watching Leicester play against Man City and I kept thinking: "This team are better than United '. The front three of Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial is possibly better than Leicester's but look at the players in Leicester's defense and midfield: Ricardo Pereira, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell, Wilfred Ndidi, Maddison. The way Brendan Rodgers has them playing, you can see Leicester breaking into that top six.

I assume if you’re here that’s because you’ve read my previous posts about my glorious, wondrous, amazing trip to Los Angeles recently.
I still have a few more days to cover, so let’s jump right into the fun, shall we?
Day 5
As is usually typical for L.A., it was a beautiful sunny morning. I decided to take a stroll around Hollywood, just take some photos of whatever, or whomever, I saw.
Sunset & Vine
On Vine Street
On Vine Street
Amoeba Music
Old Nickelodeon building
The Palladium
Paley Center (front), Viacom (rear)
Sunset Gower Studios
I mainly kept to Sunset Boulevard as I walked — yes, y’all, walked — east, passing familiar spots such as Amoeba Music, the Hollywood Palladium theater, the Paley Center (which also houses a bomb-ass restaurant), and Viacom.
Morgan Camera Shop
Morgan Camera Shop
Morgan Camera Shop
Morgan Camera Shop
And obviously if I was headed this way, I was gonna stop and photograph on my favorite L.A. subjects, Morgan Camera Shop.
Not really sure why I’m so obsessed with Morgan, or why it stands out to me, but it does, and clearly I’m not alone.
Finally, I arrived at Roscoe’s House of Chicken n’ Waffles. I’d actually thought about going across the street to Denny’s and saving Roscoe’s for later, but then I thought, Why not?
Roscoe’s House of Chicken n Waffles
Roscoe’s menu
Roscoe’s House of Chicken n Waffles — back room tho
Roscoe’s artwork
Dat dark meat combo
Dat chicken tho
Rice & gravy — yum!
Dat biscuit tho
Funny thing about Roscoe’s, I’ve never had their waffles. I tend to not get waffles at waffle-themed places. (Remember this as it will come up again.) But I do love the chicken at Roscoe’s. Oh my, oh my.
Since it was pretty close to lunchtime, I opted to not get breakfast but something more … lunchy. Just their leg and thigh combo, with a biscuit and rice & gravy. Lawd. Lemme tell you, the rice & gravy, simple as it is, is a complete joy to behold. And the biscuit? So soft, so buttery. And of course the star of the meal was the chicken — juicy, crispy, flavorful.
There’s a reason why Roscoe’s is so beloved. Believe the hype.
Waiting on the bus … in Los Angeles. A concept, I know.
After chowing down and doing a little more walking around, I got ready for the day’s main event. First, I was going to take a bus to my destination.
The bus in L.A. wasn’t so bad. Helluva lot better than NYC buses.
Yes, that’s right. The bus. I wanted to see how Los Angeles public transportation compares to New York’s, which sucks. (Spoiler alert: It’s not as expansive nor does it run 24/7, but it’s cheaper, cleaner, and a hell of a lot nicer than the MTA.)
Anyhoo, after a pretty quick 30-minute ride I found myself at the corner of Fairfax and Third, which is right where I wanted to be.
Writers Guild of America, West
Which was the Writers Guild of America, West.
Writers Guild of America, West
Writers Guild of America, West
Writers Guild of America, West
Writers Guild of America, West
Reading the “Girls Trip” screenplay at the WGA
Reading the “Girls Trip” screenplay at the WGA
And that’s pretty much where I spent my day. I was mostly in the Guild’s Shavelson-Webb Library, which houses more than 25,000  scripts that are available to read, for free — as long as you remain in the library.
And they have everything: film, television, radio and video game scripts, plus writers’ personal papers, books, periodicals, and more on the history, art, craft, and business of writing for entertainment.
As you can imagine, I was in heaven.
Now, it takes a while to read a screenplay, so I only had time to read three, but the three I read (for films I’ve already seen, natch) offered an eye-opening look into the creation of the eventual films.
(By the way, I read the screenplays for Iron Man 3, written by Shane Black and Drew Pearce; Thor: The Dark World, by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely; and Girls Trip, by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver.)
You already know!
Happy Birthday, Abby!
After all that reading, my eyes were tired, so I ventured to a place where I could wash away the strain of the day: BIG WANGS, dawg. (This should really come as no surprise.)
As you can see from the Snapchat-filtered photo above, somewhere, someone named Abby was in the area celebrating her 30th birthday. Whoever and wherever you are, I hope you had a very happy birthday, Abby!
Jay, Jamie, and Kat — new friends!
Not only that, but I also met two new friends, Jamie and Kat. Both are actors — Jamie’s done stuff for the Harry Potter films, and Kat for the new Star Wars trilogy — and we had a great time talking movies, L.A. neighborhoods, dating, and the pursuit of dreams.
I love making friends with folks who live in different cities, and I’m definitely gonna keep in touch with these two crazy kids!
The three of us ended up shutting Big Wangs down. You know shit closes mad early in L.A. (it was only 2 o’clock in the morning), but it was just as well. Folks had things to do in the morning, so my new friends went about their way and I retired to the telly.
Day 6
Since I had Roscoe’s the previous day, I thought that this would be the day I’d dine at Denny’s. But then I spotted a new place — I mean, really new.
The Waffle menu
Steak & eggs at the Waffle
“Double” mimosa in a jar
Damn, bruh dropped off my check before I finished my meal.
The recently-opened Waffle, a self-proclaimed “big-rig style diner offering comfort food.” I perused the menu and came thisclose to ordering one of the many varieties of waffles — but then I got steak and eggs instead. (I told you.) Womp, but not really.
I’ll be honest: the steak was damn good, cooked to perfection (medium-rare, thank you), and the eggs were solid, but the hash browns left a lot to be desired. And the biscuit, while good, just wasn’t as soft and fluffy as Roscoe’s. Adding insult to injury, the server dropped my check before I’d even finished my meal. What if I’d wanted dessert, or a refill of the “double mimosa” in a jar? Ah well, it wasn’t a completely horrible experience, so I will give the Waffle another shot someday. (Y’know what, I’m gonna post this as a review on Yelp.)
After breakfast, I had some business to conduct, and that took up most of my day. When I was finished, however, I hopped on over to Amoeba Music for some souvenir shopping.
Amoeba Music in Hollywood
Lemme tell y’all something: Amoeba is huge. If you’ve never been, you will be left gob-smacked at the enormity of the place as well as the wealth of music, movies, books, clothes, toys, and whatever else you can think of that’s related to entertainment and pop culture. I mean …
Amoeba sells it all.
Amoeba Music is MASSIVE
Amoeba has integrity
Old-school concert posters
“Folk what you heard.”
I picked up several T-shirts (I am, after all, the Undisputed King of Tees), books, and DVDs, then I carried my booty (I mean my treasure, not my actual booty, pervs) to — you guessed it — Big Wangs.
Quelle surprise
But I couldn’t stay there all night. I had dinner to think about. And so I hit up one of my favorite restaurants, not just in Los Angeles, but the world —
Dass right! Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa is hands down one of the best culinary experiences I have ever had the pleasure of indulging in.
I’m gonna tell you right now: Sugarfish is high-quality, no-frills, traditional sushi. And it is amazeballs.
I ordered the Trust Me, which is the restaurant’s take on omakase:
Edamame @ Sugarfish
Tuna sashimi
Albacore and salmon
Yellowtail, halibut, and snapper
Toro hand roll
A second helping of tuna sashimi
Sapporo beer
Smashed, son
My meal consisted of organic edamame, tuna sashimi (I got two orders because one just wasn’t enough!), two pieces of albacore sushi, two pieces of salmon, two pieces of yellowtail, a piece apiece of halibut and snapper, the Toro hand roll, and a blue crab hand roll. Washed it all down with a bottle of Sapporo.
So good. So, so goddamned good. Truly, the best sushi on Earth, along with some of the best service ever.
And then, yes, I went back to Big Wangs to end the night.
Here’s the song for this post, and I gotta admit that I was even surprised by how much I dug it when I first heard it: “Perfect” by One Direction. 😮
