I LOVE ANDREW SO MUCH I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ABOUT HIM

I ramble a lot about his past mostly sorry-

Andrew actually comes from a pretty big family, he has several siblings and he was one of the middle children. He doesn’t speak to any of them anymore nor does he speak to his parents. Despite having no contact with any of them he still feels his eldest sister was more of a parent to any of them than their actual parents.

Simply put Andrew was kind of an asshole growing up. He was not a good kid. He was not very pleasant to be around. He was constantly in trouble. He stopped speaking to his family after getting kicked out as a teenager. He’s chilled out quite a bit since then.

He met his wife Hana when they were in high school. He thought she was the nicest person in the world and he couldn’t bring himself to be rude and snappy with her like he was to most people and she was one of his few close friends. Her family let him stay with them after he got kicked out and that was when he finally started to get his shit together. Andrew and Hana wouldn’t actually get together until after they graduated but he was always interested in her and the main reason he decided to become a doctor was to make sure he had a good job and would make decent money in case they actually worked out, he wanted to be able to support her so she could choose whatever career she’d be happiest with. (Hana’s parents absolutely love Andrew too, they’ve heard what he was like beforehand but they just find that hard to believe as he’s never been anything but kind and respectful towards them and their daughter. They’ve never met his parents but they assume they must be terrible people to not love him as much as they do.)

Andrew nearly worked himself to death to get through medical school and this job. Was not what he was aiming for. But when he was looking for a job he was contacted by Mr. Whitaker and he didn’t really know what he was getting into until it was too late for him to back out, and Mr. Whitaker was absolutely not above threatening his family to keep him quiet and in line. Around that time Hana would’ve been pregnant with their daughter Hiyori so he didn’t have much of a choice, he did what he had to to make sure they’d be safe and he could take care of them.

There are a lot of medics there who are in a similar situation to him, and he’s not the only one who feels this way, but he cannot bring himself to see the pets as less than human. He is patient and gentle with all of them, and sometimes he gets hurt working when they get scared, and he does his best not to get angry with them. However he is very angry with all of their owners. Since Cain took over he would even work more than he had to just because he wanted to make sure they were well taken care of.

Speaking of which, as difficult as Cain could be, Andrew also thought he was the best person to have to answer to. He might’ve spent most of his time at work but Cain worked with him and made sure he never missed a single one of his daughter’s birthdays, his wife’s birthdays, Christmas, first days of school or other events. He knew how important Andrew’s family was to him and Andrew was always incredibly thankful for that.
