They were seniors now. Graduation was coming closer, if they managed to pass those pesky finals. Since Chie often needed a helping hand, he invited her over to the Dojima residence so that they can go through the material together and work more efficiently. The plan was set in motion and the two were in the Wild Card's room, studying as much as they could.

Hours passed without them noticing until she called for a bathroom and snack break. Yu had gone a little earlier, so he nodded and waited for her to return. Stretching out his arms, he rolled his neck, still sitting at his desk. A few minutes later, he saw the door open and as he looked up, the Chariot had made herself comfortable on his lap, pulling him into one of those hugs he so craved.

"Mm, you're so warm..." He gleefully hugged her back just as tight and left a few kisses on her cheek and jawline. "If this is your idea of distracting me, it's working.~ Now, do you want me to pamper you?"

Tonight, since they had nothing important to do, the Fool was invited over to Chie’s place to watch the latest Trial of the Dragon movie. Frankly, he thought the series was over, but it seems that its fanatics keep wanting more. He was more than happy to spend a few hours there, so he agreed over the phone and made his way there.

Once inside, he greeted her parents as politely as possible before he was dragged by the arm upstairs to her room in a flash. The DVD was in its place and the movie began. Yu was quiet for most of it, focusing on the action and hugging his girlfriend at the same time.

Yet he was distracted by a fleeting kiss on the corner of his mouth as he turned to look at her, full of curiosity. Until he showed her a smug smile and kissed her sweet lips in return passionately.

“Hah, I bet you thought you caught me off guard, huh? There’s no need to be so shy when we’re alone, you know...” He chuckled softly. “Did you miss me as much as I did, my warrior?”

[ THUMB ]:         while cupping the receiver’s cheek in their hand, the sender slowly glides their thumb across their cheekbone in a tender, sweeping caress.

It was a calm day for them. After jogging around the Samegawa floodplain, Yu was, of course, tired and sat down on the soft grass to catch his breath. “Y-you’ve gotten faster... and stronger. Amazing.” He didn’t miss a chance to praise her endurance and strength at all. It was nothing but the truth, and Yu was an honest person from the start. Chie sat down next to him with a giggle and a gleeful grin on her face, leaning against his shoulder. A way to show her affection and to say ‘thank you’.

It was quiet for a few minutes. The waters of the river flowing by broke the silence every once in a while. The sun was beginning to set. It was so peaceful, as if everything would be okay for a while. Despite the mess these past few months have been, he believed that. A sigh left his nostrils and he turned to look at her as soon as her hand touched his cheek.

“Mm? What is it, honey?” He queried. His face was so close to hers now. While cupping Yu’s cheek in her hand, she slowly glided her thumb across his cheekbone in a tender caress. A motion that clearly showed how much she adored him, and it caused his heart to skip a beat.

“Heh, is that it? Well then.” The Fool was quick to cup her face and close the distance between them, capturing their lips in a soft and tender kiss that’d last for a while before pulling away. “I love you too.”

Yu immediately smiled upon seeing her. His hands were so warm now, and so were his cheeks from that kiss. “Thank you, dearest.~” Her face would be peppered with soft kisses now, and then a big, tight hug. He’s not letting go. “I love you.”

“You are? Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t notice...” He might’ve had his head in the clouds while walking today. He had a lot to do, but needed a break as well. Chie was right there, angrily pouting at him and it was the cutest thing in the world. Yu smiled, booped her nose and stopped in his tracks, arms open wide for a big hug from his beloved girlfriend.

“Now, you can hug me all you like.~”

"You look wiped out. Don't tell me you ran all the way here..." He smiled and petted her head as they cuddled on his couch, the TV playing a show they both liked acted as mere background noise to fill the incoming silence. He saw her nodding her head and yawning a little in response. It's so typical of Chie to go to the extreme for him, and something he found quite endearing, was her never-ending energy and willingness to impress him.

"Well, you can stay as much as you like. I can bring you a blanket if you get cold." Though his lap and his hand holding her legs together seemed to keep her quite warm so far. "Did you do anything fun today? Any new moves you'd like to show me?" He asked quietly, laying down beside her while holding her.

Yu had come over to her house to help her study for tomorrow's exam. Physics was always a difficult subject if one didn't have a good grasp of maths or even logic. Not that Chie wasn't good at figuring things out, but the hours flew by between the two comparing notes and answering any questions on the worksheet as well as taking advantage of the snacks her mom kindly provided to them after closing the door. Stretching his arms, he decided to take a break on her bed and invited her along. The brunette seized this opportunity to sit comfortably on his lap with him wrapping his arms around her waist when she bit his cheek, catching him off guard.

"Hey now, Satonaka-san." He pressed a kiss to the side of her neck. "It's not nice to bite an innocent man without permission. I might have to take my revenge on you... do you want that?"

Underneath the softly twinkling lights of a cozy holiday party hosted in the Dojima household, the air was filled with laughter and the sweet scent of freshly baked cookies. A sprig of mistletoe, adorned with glistening white berries, dangled playfully from the ceiling in a corner of the room.

Amidst the merry chatter amongst his friends and cheerful music, Chie and Yu found themselves standing beneath the mistletoe. They exchanged a playful glance, both aware of the age-old tradition associated with this festive plant. Mostly him, thanks to her many teachings about romance. Come to think of it, it had been a full year since they started dating. He was with someone so amazing and determined that he couldn't afford to lose.

He'll figure out who the culprit behind was later. For now, the Fool wasted no time bringing her into a tight embrace, lifting her chin up with his hand under her chin and gazing into her eyes.

"Merry Christmas, love." He sealed the deal with a firm kiss on her pink-colored lips and let their foreheads touch. They could stay like this for a while without bothering anyone. "Here's to another wonderful year with you, and our adventures.~"
