#I'm amazed the actress had a cameo in season two because I know the actress hated filming the show so it's like wow

I'm sorry, I'm still stuck on this moment that has been burned into my brain as possibly the most obvious "HE'S MINE AND YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM" moments I have ever seen in my life.

Like, as much as I know Marina was (understandably) far too concerned with finding a husband to protect her and the baby.... Girl, this was the most obvious "get your own man and stay away from mine" I've ever seen and you could've given her the "your love is an unrequited fantasy" speech that made a large portion of the fandom hate you (not including me! I don't hate her at all! I actually think she deserved better than the cards she was dealt.) much sooner.

Legacies' Kaylee Bryant Has Perfect Descriptions For Her Vampire Diaries Spinoff Co-Stars
Tumblr media
Legacies Season 1 is now in the past, but not forgotten (unlike Hope Mikaelson in the Malivore pit). The joint spinoff of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals brought back several characters from those shows, and introduced several new favorites. While we were getting to know the new characters, the stars were getting to know each other during filming in the Atlanta area.
Back in early December 2018, when Kaylee Bryant was promoting the return of Josie Saltzman's biological mother Jo in "Mombie Dearest," CinemaBlend asked her for some knee-jerk descriptions of her beloved co-stars -- just one or two words that quickly came to mind when asked about her castmates. Here's what she responded:
“Danielle Rose Russell (Hope Mikaelson) -- Wifey is the first thing that comes to mind, and loving, she's just a very loving person. So those are the two things that come to mind.
Matt Davis (Alaric Saltzman) -- Oh Matt, Matt is funny, like hilarious. Like secretly one of the most funny people on set.
Jenny Boyd (Lizzie Saltzman) -- High fashion. That's always what I call her, she's my high fashion twinnie. Twinnie and high fashion.
Quincy Fouse (Milton "MG" Greasley) -- Oh, Quincy. Quincy -- a clown. He's a clown, I call him a clown all the time. He's hilarious.
Peyton Alex Smith (Rafael Waithe) -- Oh Peyton. Peyton, I don't know. What would I call Peyton? I guess is undercover teddy bear, that's how I like to describe Peyton.
Aria Shahghasemi (Landon Kirby) -- Aria is intelligent, that's the first thing that comes to mind. He's genuinely one of the most intelligent people I've talked to.
If I had known Penelope Park would return to Josie's life in such a beautiful and emotional way, I'd have asked Kaylee Bryant about Lulu Antariksa. Alas, I only asked about the six above. (However, I did ask Kaylee about her favorite ship for Josie, including #Posie.)

Danielle Rose Russell first appeared as Hope Mikaelson on The Originals, before Hope became the lead character of Legacies. Hope and Josie have definitely shown some chemistry in Legacies, especially in "There's a World Where Your Dreams Came True," aka the alternate reality episode that told us about Stefanie Salvatore.
Matt Davis, who plays Josie and Lizzie's father Alaric, is the only star in The Vampire Diaries Universe to have been on all three shows so far -- The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies. Lizzie and Josie Saltzman are characters from The Vampire Diaries, although the actresses are new for Legacies, showing the twins in their teenage years at the Salvatore School.
Even back in December, before they shot the season finale, Kaylee Bryant told me how much she'd love to have Chris Wood on Legacies as the twins' evil Uncle Kai:
“My favorite characters from The Vampire Diaries are -- Kai is my favorite, and Caroline, and Katherine. Those three are my top favorites, I love all three of them so much. The amount of times that I say in live streams, on social media, in the writers room that I want Kai to come on to the show -- I think that the writers might kill me, because they're so over me talking about it. But I think that having Kai on the show would be so amazing to see, with the twins and everything, and I'm just obsessed with the actor that plays him. I think it would be fun to have that evil storyline to tell in reference to the twins and the Gemini Coven and all of that.
The Vampire Diaries Universe ruler Julie Plec definitely feels the same way, and she gave Josie and Lizzie a storyline in the Legacies Season 1 finale that directly tied to Kai Parker. Plec admitted it was kinda presumptuous of her to put actor Chris Wood on the spot like that, but she's hoping he considers at least a cameo in Legacies Season 2. He's not the only one Julie Pec and fans would love to see again from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, as there are still several characters (even beyond Caroline) whose storylines would dovetail perfectly with where Legacies is after Season 1.
Speaking of the twins' other mother Caroline, who also co-runs the Salvatore School -- she was not seen in Legacies Season 1. Her absence was eventually explained by Alaric, who intially said she was recruiting for the school, then admitted she was really trying to find a way for the twins to avoid The Merge when they turn 22.
Back in late 2018, I asked Kaylee Bryant if we'd ever see Caroline on Legacies. Here's what she said:
“I think we all would love to see Caroline as much as the fans would. It's just a matter of -- you know, we have an open door policy for all of the actors on The Vampire Diaries. But these actors have been on the show with these characters for 10 years. And I think everybody can respect somebody wanting to take a step back from that character and have their own life and career outside of that. So if Candice King would like to come back and play Caroline we would love to have her back. And if she doesn't we respect that as well.
The Vampire Diaries ended just two years ago, and it hasn't even been a year since The Originals went off the air. Interestingly enough, now that the first season of Legacies has joined them on Netflix, some new fans are actually starting with Legacies and then catching up on all of the past show references by binge-watching Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
Legacies Season 2 will start filming in July for a premiere this fall on The CW.

It felt like an overkill, yes. And even though the relationship they explored is important on storytelling basis and on a humane basis because let's face it and adopted kid, the neglectful mother, how jessica grew up, they should have broke the season down to two different elements, all 13 eps being about the same person and the same thing every single time was insane. Would have beneffited from less eps truly.
Jessica and Luke are endgame in the comics of course and have a younger daughter who later becomes captain america, hello!!!!! I hope they make the storyline one day, seriously.
My lips are sealed on Claire. And I loved Oscar, again once you start the season I shall tell you. Zero spoilers! And yes you will see in season 3 things are better and there is a luke cameo! And I love Krysten and the way she acts.
SO on that note good krysten acting credit is the bitch at apartment 23, a black comedy, short and cool! Ah and Jessica will appear in she-hulk , it has been officially confirmed! Next year of course.
Yeah Foggy was so mad at Matt and the whole “this whole time you could tell when I was lying?” he should have told him earlier, at least only him about the hearing and the heightnend senses, now the vigilante part, i know that he thinks that he brings people to danger but like Matt, my beautiful idiot, we need to cultivate relationships. Foggy is a trooper. Seirously, the driving force of daredevil and he doesn’t even know, again an everyday character multidimensional and lovely af. I can talk about foggy for hours because he never felt like just a best friend or a shoehorned character.
Daredevil is truly one of the best comic characters ever, ever, honestly, he is a hero through and through and this is why I've been telling they did a fantastic job with him in the series, the showrunnes, the writers, Charlie himself. You can tell when work has been done, good work.  So good. Other characters deal with depression as well, example comic clint barton who is amazing and relatable and jsut the best character and they went and absolutely butchered him.
And look from an article I found: in Episode 10 of Season 1, "Nelson v. Murdock." In a drunken flashback with Foggy at law school, Matt makes fun of Foggy for taking Punjabi just because of a girl. Foggy counters with, "Are you trying to tell me that you didn't take Spanish to snuggle up to — what's her name? The Greek girl." Foggy follows up with, "Whatever happened to her? She was smokin'." Matt's response? "Oh man, it didn't work out." (cue the backstory at season 2)

she has no business being this pretty.. really. + jessica jones spoilers!!!
yes!!! i totally agree!! i love exploring the idea of meeting someone that you thought had died, especially when it turns out she's enhanced just like you? and has problems controlling the whole thing? so interesting, but, as you said, i would have loved to have another story line that ran parallel alongside that one, because after a while i was just hoping for alisa to.. disappear. anyway, the whole thing with the adoption and her adoptive sister being a famous kid is such a great dynamic too. like, your sister is being put on a pedestal by your adoptive mother and the world and then there you are.. your whole family is dead and it turns out they experimented on you, making you super strong? how does a teen properly deal with that?! another great storyline, i gotta admit!
their daughter becomes captain america???? oh my god. GOALS. wow that is amazing honestly!
i'm gonna watch one more episode of season three tonight so im very excited :) yay for the luke cameo! i loved foggy's cameo when jeri was about to be thrown out of the company, i was glad to see a happy and nice face again!! krysten is a superb actress!!!! she fits the role perfectly, marvel really does the best casting, i gotta say!
ooh, thank you for the rec, i've put it on my to watch list :). shes a great actress and so beautiful!!!!! they gotta stop casting these models lmao my standards are getting too high at this point haha! aah another cross-over, i'm glad to have her back (maybe some good news on the matt front too, hehe).
yeah i agree! especially as they share the practice together, foggy should have known about the heightened senses, it would have made things so much easier for both of them! foggy <3 such a sweet man. i was so happy to see him in a relationship with that woman (forgot her name for a sec, marcy?) i like them together!
yes omg! you can feel the love for this character from the writing, to the cinematography, the acting... everything is perfect! i think he might be my favourite superhero right now... maybe even of all-time?
ah see. i wish they would've kept mcu clint more like the comics! that adds another dimension to a character and i feel like mcu clint really needs something more like that, because right now he feels super bland and just not interesting at all.
OH MY GOD THE FORESHADOWING HOW DID I MISS THAT?? also both of them learning those languages <33 i'm a big language lover and those kind of acts of love just worn their way straight into my heart. (also elektra - such a polyglot!!! greek, spanish, english and french, i'm impressed!!)
i also watched the daredevil movie trailer (2003) and i'm unsure if i should watch it. ben affleck and jennifer garner? both great actors but i'm such a fan of charlie cox and élodie yung... (they used evanescence music in the trailer though, thats like 1000 points in my book, haha!)
