Thinking about the DR AU again but this time Deuzangle because I'm not sure what their dynamic would be like compared to how they're in canon. They can't be exes anymore since they didn't meet until starting school at Hope's Peak, so I'm trying to think about what sorts of interactions they'd have.

I'm assuming Deuz would still have a crush on her, but would Meg reciprocate? Idk, maybe she finds his whole bad boy rebel™ persona kind of charming. Maybe she feels like the fact that they both grew up in poverty makes him understand her better. I also feel like Meg would need some serious support after losing both her friends and her brother, but might find Usagi and Freddy's more hopeful approach to comfort really hollow and instead gravitate to Deuz, who would have a much more downer but still ultimately passionate way of dealing with the situation.

I also think it would be interesting if, during the two years they spent at the Academy, they did date- and then broke up. Because if they date again after leaving the simulation, and later regain their memories, it could lead to a really interesting relationship dynamic as they try to give things another go, now that they've grown as people and have gone through so much together.
