Propaganda for Deuzangle:

The inherent romantic tension between two exes who still have feelings for each other. The pain of one of them wanting to give the relationship another chance, while the other knows it won't work, just like it didn't work the first time. All the memories of times spent together, tainted by the distance that now exists. These two are White Flag by Dido and you can't convince me otherwise.

The OG ship. Literally kissed on one of the first episodes in the entire series, before even speaking to each other once. That's gotta count for something.

FHS Week Day 1: Different Band Arrangements.

The idea behind this was "what if Meg and Deuz never broke up, so she joined the Nightmares instead of forming the Toys?". So basically- goth girl Meg :)

I realized I never posted my Deuzangle playlist on here... So have some exes. Because I love doomed romance and I love them <3

Thinking about the DR AU again but this time Deuzangle because I'm not sure what their dynamic would be like compared to how they're in canon. They can't be exes anymore since they didn't meet until starting school at Hope's Peak, so I'm trying to think about what sorts of interactions they'd have.

I'm assuming Deuz would still have a crush on her, but would Meg reciprocate? Idk, maybe she finds his whole bad boy rebel™ persona kind of charming. Maybe she feels like the fact that they both grew up in poverty makes him understand her better. I also feel like Meg would need some serious support after losing both her friends and her brother, but might find Usagi and Freddy's more hopeful approach to comfort really hollow and instead gravitate to Deuz, who would have a much more downer but still ultimately passionate way of dealing with the situation.

I also think it would be interesting if, during the two years they spent at the Academy, they did date- and then broke up. Because if they date again after leaving the simulation, and later regain their memories, it could lead to a really interesting relationship dynamic as they try to give things another go, now that they've grown as people and have gone through so much together.

There's 32 ships per character in your ship names spreadsheet, so maybe you could do an entire tournament just for the ships of one character? Like, all Freddy ships duking it out.

WAIT YOU'RE RIGHT ANON that could be fun! Knowing who's the favorite of them all... That could be really interesting, especially if we compare and contrast the different results different characters get.

Although for most of them I don't think the actual result would be all that shocking, lol. The middling battles would be pretty cool, especially since it'll involve trying to think about some dynamics between characters that never interacted (like, what kind of dynamic would Freddy and Shadow Fox have? Freddy and Loon? Freddy and Towntrap?) but they'd get destroyed by the more popular Freddy ships like Freddica or Golddy without receiving much of a second thought.

I'll definitely consider it, though. And if I do decide to make it, it'd be fun to make a vote on what character gets the honor of having all their ships fight to the death.

Agree with you on Fedix and Puppica (although I should've expected my least favorite character to ruin the fun for me again) but I don't get the shock over Deuzangle losing? I don't know anyone who actually likes that ship besides me, much less like it as much as I do.

Scream the ship that is currently in your heart

Well, since you offered… Here's me yelling about Deuzangle again because I love me some awkward exes. Under the cut because the screaming got long.

I've always adored ships between characters that have broken up because it kind of puts a layer of failure over the relationship- they tried to be together already, and it didn't work out. Even if now they're trying again, there's no telling whether this time it will be any different. Without good communication and effort, old issues will come back and do the same damage they did back then. Your friends and family remember all the mistakes your old partner made and they might not be too keen on giving them a second chance. Basically, it's kind of a mess, and I enjoy that. I find that much more compelling than when characters just date and then don't have any issues ever.

With this ship in particular, what caught my attention was how… surprisingly mild their interactions were. Deuz, despite usually being such a violent character, tries his best to be charming, suave and profound with her (even if he kind of fails rip). He attempts to play nice with Fox even when he's constantly being antagonized by him. It's obvious that he's doing his best to impress her, which is really cute in a pathetic sort of way.

Meanwhile, Meg reacted to his presence is a shockingly mild way. You can tell she isn't exactly happy to be with him, but she's not outright hostile towards him either. She's dismissive and cold but she still defends him when Fox attacks him. It's interesting to see- you'd expect someone as hotheaded as her to be way nastier towards an ex, especially given that most clues point to the relationship failing because of Deuz' flaws… but she's not. Makes you wonder if a part of her still cares about him.

I think that, as they are in canon, they wouldn't make a good couple. In the future, though? When they're both older, more mature, and maybe have so more relationship experience? I think they'd have a lot of potential. By the time they're adults I like to imagine they will be able to look at the past more clearly- both in terms of what they need to fix for their relationship to work this time but also in being able to appreciate their old times more now that they got some nostalgia to them. It also means they would be able to bring back a lot of things they did together- imagine them going back to where they went for their first date! Laughing at old inside jokes they hadn't mentioned in years! Sharing what's been going on with their lives during the time they spent apart! Remembering old habits and learning about new ones!!! Of course, not everything would be sunshine and rainbows. It would probably take some effort, coming back together after so many years apart. They've both changed, be it for better or worse, and so they would have to relearn how to work together. There's probably thinks they both regret from their past that would be hard to deal with. Deuz would have to do a lot to earn the goodwill of Meg's friends and, particularly, Fox. And I don't think the Nightmares would be very enthusiastic about Meg either. I do like to think they could make it work, though. Together <3
