An Allay Revamp
Alright, I've mentioned I have issues with allays, some of them being nitpicky, and some of them being common complaints. Lets rapidfire address them. FYI, I am a big allay fan, they're super duper cute and i love the idea of using them for item collection for slightly less efficient but more whimsical farms :3 Issues: -Noteblocks dont really work as a "home block" because they have to be constantly (every 30 seconds) activated, and the whole "musical base" idea doesnt really work in practice, because you have to play the note so often and you'd also want a consistent dropoff location... (some say just let us tell an allay what pitch to listen for, but im cooking something better) -as much as the theming of amethyst = sound and allays liking sound fits, I don't feel like "right click with amethyst" is anything more than a band-aid-solution for getting more allays -allays can be frustrating to transport, even if they're really good at following you (i mean, mojang did a pretty good job, but i dont think any amount of fixes or buffs to speed can stop occasional questionable AI). also they get lost sometimes tbh but thats more of a noteblock issue, they just forget the noteblock -allays CAN still die, hypothetically, and i think giving them bonkers regen and health is the weird solution anyways, I think we can do better and have them revive, while making sense in lore. No more duplicating, but interesting renewability time! -i dont feel that its super intuitive who an allay "belongs to" like oh okay it follows *whoever gave it the item* thats... sure? eh Principles: -amethyst is too forced to just be Given to them -music doesnt really work in practice, despite being a little charming -lean into magical vibes -just make em work better -my particular take on some aspects revolve retconning a small bit of lore, potentially Now, TO THE REVAMP
Remember when people were asking about transporting allays and said "I wish we could store them in our inventory, that would help" Yknow, I think those people were absolutely cooking. I think we can go beyond just making books into "allay buckets" though! Rather than being close to a bucket, it would be a Summoning Tome; perhaps this would be a special book that you can craft, or books transform into tomes once you put an allay inside. Now, the idea is that you'd be able to right click to open or close the book, which would act as a summon. Whoever summoned an allay would be its "owner" (also, i think up to 3 allays in a tome could work maybe) What happens if I put away or drop the tome? It'd trigger the long distance teleportation, which I'll get back to. A failsafe of sorts, if you will Why summon tomes? - thematically I think it'd be very cool to use a book to summon them, for one, but I also think it'd just be very whimsical and... fitting! I think it'd also help allay safety. Why summon tomes? - Failsafes and overall Safety If an allay strayed too far from its owner, it would trigger a failsafe where it would drop the items its holding and teleport back into the book, and auto-close the book to let you know that it happened. The reason it would drop the items would be to prevent teleportation of items :p basically, I think it'd help allays not get lost, without necessarily giving them teleportation. they'd try to keep up with you to their best ability, but if they were just unable to pathfind to you, you could recall them intentionally or they would end up recalling if they just... really ended up nearly getting into like, an unloaded chunk. Why summon tomes? - If they die? ...and if they died, it would put them into the book and put them on cooldown for revival! bam, now you dont need to give them chunky health and regen! and you dont need duplication, either!
What about free roaming allays? How would they work? You could either release them from the tome, perhaps by shift right clicking, which would let them be free roaming and not bound to any player... or.... USE LECTERNS !! :D you could put an allay tome in a LECTERN and the allay would use *that* as the home block, and deliver items to the lectern, rather than needing a note block to repeatedly be activated. when a tome is in a lectern, you can close it or open it, by powering it with redstone or clicking it. this would allow you to recall an allay back into the comfort of its tome if you wished to reduce lag, etc :) I think the idea of a lectern holding a tome of allays as like, a summon-staff being held by a stand, in a way, is really fun :) its my favorite part of this all How would I obtain these summon tomes? So I said that we aren't gonna let you duplicate allays anymore, but 1) allays will still be renewable, even if you cant find any more 2) allays still can have theming involving amethyst Just wanna clarify that yes, allays would still be found in outposts and mansions, even if its a bit messy with the following lore retcon... So, we know that in official lore... well, we can assume that vexes arent just like, corrupted allays, and are merely similar looking because they're similar creatures in nature, perhaps born of similar... whatevers. and so they just capture the innocent familiars, and study and make their own evil ones. but i say while thats neat, id rather have vexes be corrupted evil allays SO we also know that raid farms are OP because totems really... shouldnt be renewable. so what if evokers dropped vex tomes? you could use them to summon vexes to kill anything attacking you, and they'd have anywhere from 1-3 vexes in them, so hey, raids make the tomes renewable. and you can probably see where im going with this: You'd have to purify the tome to get an allay tome! I think this could involve bringing them to a place of positive energy and vibes - an amethyst geode! Tada! We bring it back to amethyst because of the theming of sounds, and the chime-like sounds that allays make. Perfect! P.S They can still enjoy jukeboxes, as a treat. Noteblocks just arent used for their deeper mechanics double P.S (its late at night, i may Revamp this Revamp post tomorrow, by fixing up and restructuring a bit. but also i have school related writing stuff i should focus on lol. hope this is comprehensible and maybe brings you the same whimsy as when i imagined an allay tome on a lectern :D)

bats eyelashes... circles au
its called circles au because it came to me while listening to circles by nonpoint :> which is on the acceleracers soundtrack. and the song is kind of the whole theme of the au (and of this blog now)
basically! everything in acceleracers happens as normal. until the end of ultimate race, where vert is left in the silencerz base. he blinks and then its all gone, faded to black. vert is stuck in limbo for four long, long years.
at least, that's how long we know it is. to vert? infinite. instant. eternity of nothingness, a day, a month, a week, a million years he doesn't know, nobody knows. (can you tell that i watched that really popular myhouse.wad video)
he tries to sleep through most of it. the times where he's awake are agonizing.
he blinks again and he's in a musty garage in the desert.
there's two paths we can go to from here: the ghost path, and the reincarnation path. i like thinking about both. im not sure where to go with it tbh. ghost au is fun but in terms of actual canon status i think reincarnation is my actual headcanon
the ghost path: he's in a musty garage in the desert. is this it?, he thinks, have i finally lost it?
there's another man there who looks like him. cleaner hair, still bright and messy blond. blue eyes. the red livery is distracting, but that's clearly power rage he's working on. yep, i've lost it, so he thinks.
when he tries to step forward he realizes he's floating off the ground. when he finally hits the floor, there is no thud. it's like a lucid dream or out of body experience. did he just hit his head back at the silencerz hq? was he concussed?
wait and see, vert. wait and see.
this other man quips something and the car revs. he should follow this guy. when he tries to open the door, his hand slips through. strange. at least there's a passenger seat, which he somehow doesn't clip into.
vert is surprisingly sick. the new driver spins around, and he shouldn't feel sick, he's not even tangible and has driven in salt flats his whole life, at 300 mph no less in the world race, why is he sick?
there's a cop on the other end of the car.
"pull over wheeler, you're speedin'."
huh. same appearance and same surname to boot.
"sorry sheriff johnson, it's not against the law if i'm on the salt flats!" the other wheeler chirps. "and according to my speedometer, i'm doing the speed limit! cactus!"
vert is confused until johnson slams into a literal cactus. eh, never liked the cops anyway.
and on that fated day, vert watched this new vert take on the multiverse, and everything that the acceleracer knew was washed away in light of new knowledge. wisdom is a circle, after all.
two years pass.
the vandals were defeated, the sark - oh how familiar were they - were on the brink of collapse, and vert could smell the blood (or perhaps energy?) of the red sentients in the proverbial water, and knew his time was coming close to an end. he's getting restless.
one night, vert wheeler had a dream. was it a dream? ghosts weren't real, he knew, or did he know...
outside zeke's was a newcomer, a stranger. wild blond hair and dark cyan attire, a stark white jacket that floats in the stale air. he cast no shadow in the neon light. "what are you doin' up so late?" vert asks. probably some tourist who got lost.
"this place is filled with ghosts of the past," the stranger responds wistfully. california kid, definitely some lost punk. vert only cocks his head in response.
"old smokey passed by recently. you would never recognize it, but the logo of the metal maniacs is unmistakable." vert has no idea what he's talking about. some manic episode? "and reverb, same name as the last vehicle i drove." stanford's car... a little suspicious. "the sark and sentients, exact same relationship as the accelereons and drones..." oh no. "though," the wanderer sighed, "the sark aren't nearly as violent."
vert was exasperated. "who are you?"
"you couldn't tell?" the stranger finally faces him, and they look eerily similar. he cracks as a smile, a wry, sad smile.
"i'm you."
vert knew he could never tell anyone of this experience again.
ok so without the longass prose: in this au, ar! vert "dies" and is in limbo for 4 years, and winds up in the bf5 universe. he spends the first 3 quarters of the show standing on the sidelines, strange looks out the corner of the battle force 5's eyes. when he senses that the show is coming to an end, he starts getting restless trying to make the most of his time left. his urges are left behind in bf5! vert, who starts seeing ar! vert more often in his dreams. then ar! vert goes further, he tries steering saber in an instinctual attempt to win the race (but there is no race. vert needs to get a hold of himself).
ar! vert is very traumatized by his whole limbo ordeal and by not being able to save kadeem (he thinks he's dead). since he didn't talk with people for so long he speaks in short, choppy sentences and is really awkward. 100 mile stare. extra fun if you want to get the other racers involved as ghosts.... rd-kadeem encouraging zemerik to convert spinner during "glitchin." shirako altering stanford's playlists to suit his tastes. tezla and gig's conversations heard throughout the lab, only for when you enter, it's just sherman there. speaking of sherman what if monkey got reincarnated into spinner and pork chop got reincarnated into sherman so they could spend their lives together haha what if. anyways .
the reincarnation path is a lot more subtle. too late to do a prose description but in this au, acceleracers happens as normal, but when it ends vert's soul got reincarnated (of course) into bf5! vert's body. and bf5 happens as normal until vert starts having weird dreams (the events of acceleracers). and then when the show ends his soul wind's up in the next vert's body (i thiiink the guy who looked like the protag of hot wheels let's race? yeah shoutouts to you if you remember that fiasco). and as long as there are vert wheelers the cycle will continue, with each iteration learning from the experiences of those before them. not without a healthy dose of horror as they realize they're not the first.

ok i know this is dumb and you probably don't feel comfortable with this but... what exactly is your opinion on hellpark, its server, and the anti hellpark server? i've seen you sent an ask to them and have been @ by them and i'm kinda confused? i know you aren't bad and you're just trying to live your life and that's cool! i just want to know you're stance.
kinda important post? i recommend reading it!
so i had these asks for like- a couple of weeks and to be honest i didn’t know how to respond to these as i feel like i didn’t have an appropriate response. but anon i don’t think your dumb for asking this! its understandable to be a bit concerned or confused on things so don’t feel bad (there's never bad or dumb questions!)
of course this is all my opinion! you don’t have to agree with any of them and i don’t see any of you guys doing that! i would like to know your guys’s opinions on these though! id love to have discussions on this or similar topics
not exactly sure which to address first ngl...
i guess i should state on my opinions on the antihellpark blog-
i feel like they have good intentions but the way they execute them isn’t the best. like i totally get their frustrations with the server but they don’t exactly clearify much? like they’re pretty vague about some stuff and it’s not a good look. i also feel as if they act a bit rude? especially with talking about anyone from the server (of course i could be reading the room wrong)- i feel like having an entire blog about this is really silly, like i feel as if it would be better to have just made a giant post rather than a blog...
as much as i love the tea, the tea has been getting cold and boring and i’m not so interested in it anymore
on hellpark itself it... its ok
i’m not as interested in it as i was when i first read it, the story’s direction isn’t one i’m looking forward to, some of how the character’s interpretations don’t make much sense, the character designs albeit fits the universe isn’t as... interesting? not exactly sure how to describe it... anyway-
i’m just mainly not happy with the stories direction, so many lost opportunities and not many good ideas. not as enthusiastic with it. i know i probably shouldn’t critiq it since it’s not finished and the story is still going but... that's no excuse. people can critiq stories that aren’t finished, people do that with steven universe, homestuck, MANY animes and other stories. there isn’t anything wrong with it either because the creators can hear this criticism and learn and decide if they wish to follow those critiques. its just how shit goes
and for the server...
eh
i don’t care about it anymore.
i used to be on the side that did not like the server and in a way i still do, its just i couldn’t care less and tbh i don’t exactly see myself joining it. ever? maybe just for updates and i never talk in the server (but i doubt id be joining
there's many issues i see with it like the constant miscommunication, dogpiling, disrespect, and some issues with mods- at first i didn’t like it. i hated the server in fact and it shaped and changed my opinion on the au. but now taking some time to think about it and other things now i just don’t care about it. i don’t exactly care for the fans either really- or the fans i have in mind. some of them (not all mind you) get on my nerves! and from what i’ve seen and heard from others many seemed to have not liked me either BUT that happens in every large server- not everyone is gonna like you and your not gonna like everyone! and you know what? that's 100% ok!
of course i have some other issues like feeling anxious when talking in there as i have that fear of being dogpiled (again) and feeling as if i’m being pushed into a corner. there's also the fact i felt like i could never talk about my au’s as people would just ignore it and interrupt me and or make me force major changes to the story just cause they don’t like something in it or not.
though now at this point i’m just getting petty!
my stance? i don’t know- i guess i’m in the middle? while i get the reasoning on the blog i can also stand by the side of the server and the creator of the au if something affects me enough to care. like i know that its difficult to run such big servers and its probably stressful! i know everyone is trying their best and as both an ex fan and a critic i appreciate and respect that! i give big respect and applause to all the artist, voice actors, animators, mods, and wire for all the stuff they have done and will continue to do! and it can see why lots of people can enjoy the au AND the server!
the art is both unique but its still familiar to the south park artstyle, the characters have both a familiar vibe but since they’re older much has changed and it feels as if your meeting a cousin you only met once, the animation is beautiful and the comedy is pretty ok for being both a south park au and not having much of the crude humor it has.
a lot of the members of the server are friendly and yes while quite a few dogpile i know they mean no harm!, i have made a handful of friends there and i’m happy i met them! its well organized and the mods are friendly! there's so much to explore in it and it really was so much fun! especially when you’ve never joined these before! i understand why many people like it and will defend it and i’m so happy that people have these interests! it makes me happy hearing a friend tell me about it and showing me art! and even though i don’t care about the au or its server now i’m not gonna rain on people's parades!
like i said these are my opinions and all though i wish for you to read them and understand them i understand if you don’t agree- and you dont have too! i encourage you to have YOUR own opinion! and i’m always willing to debate!
i recommended that you check hellpark out if you haven’t (though i know many have) its an interesting read and hell if you end up not liking the story like me at least the art is good!
ok i’m done jesus christ-
