IASB debe coordinar con la (futura junta internacional de estándares de sostenibilidad) para la realización de un proyecto comprensivo sobre el IAS 38 dado que muchos de esos temas, particularmente los intangibles generados internamente, también afectan cómo la compañía crea y mantiene el valor de largo plazo. Estos problemas también son materiales para el valor de la emprensa y, por lo tanto, también deberían estar dentro del alcance de la ISSB. No obstante, es importante determinar desde el comienzo el alcance tanto de IASB como de ISSB a fin de evitar inconsistencias y duplicaciones.
