I'm torn on names for him though. Was thinking "snow-spider" or "icepider" (sounds silly) but not sure. Also random information under the cut, because I thought too much about his lore

His Earth is super cold and glacial so there's snow and ice everywhere. Most of humanity lives in insulated snow bunkers.

He's an apprentice at his universe's version of Oscorp which is how he got bit

The spider that bit him was an arctic wolf spider. He has pretty standard spider-man abilities, along with being able to withstand sub-zero temperatures.

His dad is an eccentric scientist + the one who designed a lot of his equipment (web-shooters, etc.) Funfact his webs actually work as an insulating material so he can wrap people up in them to prevent them from freezing to death

He was prob recruited by spider-society at some point because they figured out his earth is so uninhabitable (due to cold) that dangerous anomalies can be driven there in order to make them easier to entrap and contain.

On the flip side, no one ever wants to visit his reality because of how cold it is so he's not that close with any other spider-people

hi guys! im back. i went tokyo for a few days. got back at 7 this morning after taking an overnight 7 hour bus ride.... that i did not sleep on bc i cant sleep in moving vehicles. this will be something closer to a proper blog post i guess. splatoon related convention? experience below

i've kept my mouth shut about my plans to go because its not as well known on the english side of the fanbase and i didnt wanna make people too jealous sorry LOL , but i went to splaket 22! it's an unofficial, splatoon-only doujinshi market/artists alley. this was my first convention-sort-of event ive been to since i was... in high school. i also dont really get to meet many other hardcore splatoon fans irl. i was nervous about it because i don't know a whole lot of people on the JP side nor do i have a lot of confidence in my japanese speaking/listening, but in the end it was SUPER fun. i wish i couldve talked a bit more to the artists i did encounter to comment on what i liked about their works but. Skill Issue very few non-japanese people at this event of course but one of the only english speakers i saw i called out to bc they were wearing a shirt with this exact image printed on it no video and no photos outside of designated areas were allowed so i got like. zero pics of my own. but there was a lot of cosplayers i saw! oh and here's the Loot Haul. a few doujin, a clear file, stickers, microfiber cloth and a keychain. im surprised at how little i got, i think i shouldve gone a bit crazier with it

the one with Tao Blu and oonie in the top left (by sachikazerick) I came across by chance and bought because it was cute, featured splatband characters, and also because it all in some familiar inkling language (the last point of which i told the artist as i was buying) when i finally got home and saw the back credits...

SMALL FUCKIN WORLD LOL (i tweeted at the artist afterwards to let him know i came by the table and to thank him for using me and my friend's inkling language fonts!) though truly, i think ardnin deserved the credit more rather than me since he made most of those fonts! ah well, still cool to see more and more fan works using deciphered inkling language. top middle book is a story with some salmonid characters that i havent read yet but im looking forward to it, the art is lovely. top right one was the first thing i bought. the artist is rk_splaworks, whose art i love, and we've been mutuals for a few years and have talked a bit here and there! i was so fucking nervous to meet them in person since my japanese sucks LMAO but they were happy to meet me too and we got a selfie together yippy <3 also havent read their doujin Yet since ill have to rub all my brain cells together and huddle over the dictionary, but i want their oc lore

ok that's all i'll say, next splaket is...june 22. very soon....im already thinking ill. go again. yknow. while im still in japan and all that. i guess ill have to study harder on my jp in the meantime teehee ...i doubt it, but in the off chance anyone following me is going to the next splaket in june lemme know!

1. What’s your oc’s most irrational fear? Is there a specific reason this fear came about?

Plastic/latex gloves. Even though he uses them for obvious reasons (or maybe not so obvious reasons) and they're a part of otherwise normal medical procedures, he hates the sound of gloves snapping, he hates the feel of them either on his hands or on his skin, and so he's almost at his most uncomfortable when procedures are being done to him as a result. This is in part due to some procedures he had done to him as a child.

4. Is your oc good at keeping secrets?

Absolutely. It is step one base of being an agent to start, but then stack on top of that all the additional traitorous dealings he's in, the work he does for the SIS as well as Intelligence, and there's a lot of secrets and lying to keep up with. Something something if you love your job you don't work a day in your life something something.

10. Who’s the first person your oc goes to to talk about something that made them happy? Sad? Angry?

When he doesn't simply stomp everything down into compartmentalized pieces that he will one day just simply die with? Eve, only Eve, especially since she's the only one who truly gets the explosiveness of his anger, and a sometimes sick enjoyment he gets out of other things that other people might not find enjoyable :) Part of being partners in multiple meanings of the word, means that they share in a lot of what's happening and experience it together, and surprisingly are on the same wavelength on many different things.

14. If your oc spent one day free from any consequences or recognition for their actions, how would they act?

Murder. lmao No he'd probably wreck most everything he owns in his life that is a statement to a Good And Proper Imperial, and everything related to the facade he has to put forth in order to be the enviable example of what a Refined Accomplished Leader, like he is supposed to be. He would leave his whole life he built up in a wrecked and smoking carnage of his own making. And maybe, for one day, he'd be happy.

25. How does your oc handle sadness?

Sorry to cop out but he doesn't really feel sad. In order to feel sadness he'd have to start feeling something for someone other than himself, in a real way that could affect him. That simply does not happen. He can affect sadness like the rest of them, mourn properly, bring a tear to his eye when dramatically appropriate, but it is literally, entirely, an act. His own self-worth takes up the whole of his capacity for empathy, the only person he sincerely cares for is Evelyn. But that's because they share in their unique peculiarities. But when he was younger, he would lash out - violently in his sadness as it was a solid mix of his hatred for himself, for his vapid circumstances. Until he grew out of it.

28. What’s your favorite thing about this oc?

He's just so evil LOL. He was compressed and shaped by the pressure of Imperial society and a cruel family into an otherwise flawless diamond but had cut away all of the carbon of compassion and empathy, until all that's left is this narcissistic, pathological liar, with nevertheless a need to be envied and adored by others to make all this effort he's put into "his life" valid. While he seeks destruction of the same for his own sake on the other hand.
