Also i dont rly have anything against the game it seemed really cute and well intentioned and im sure its good it just had a little bit of a weird hiccup anyways hater hours under the cut :)

So haven is a game about these two people yu and kay who are in love and thats what the game is about, loving who you want no matter what society says :)

And their society says they should be in relationships i want to say...an algorithm determined? Like for maximum happiness. So they eloped to an abandoned planet against the wishes of their parents. And the...gimmick is kind if a negative word but i dont mean it that way...the gimmick is it can be a two player game, so youre kind of supposed to play with your own partner which is really cute :)

And its relatable i mean who can relate to this more than lgbt and other oppressed groups?

So um the only gay people in the game are antagonistic. Theyre not evil they just kind of represent the status quo...because theyre yu's parents....who are gay and are like please just do what society says and stop this eloping nonsense. Which.....like....its not saying straight people are oppressed but its also like you decided to include gay people in your game about love defying the odds and rebelling against society....on the side of the society :/

Its just a huge blind spot its not #irredeemable but like someone really should have been like hey this is a little weird right? Especially when the main couple has to be straight. Theres no character select or creation, which is fine this is supposed to be yu and kays story not you and your partner as player 1 and player 2 but it really feels like just saying hey are your yu and kay a man and a woman? Two men? Two women? Nonbinary? Really could have solved everything i mean its not like yu and kay are gendered names, and even their models dont need that many adjustments if any. It just feels like something thats easily fixable that they just didnt think of because they didnt think about lgbt people? Its not malicious its just like hey, i dont think you thought this through idk
