With a revenue of more than Rs 70 crore, AG Poly Packs is expanding its market share by offering a variety of bottles, caps & closures for cosmetics, food, and pharmaceutical packaging. Established in September 1997 for trading in rigid packaging, plastic bottles, caps & closures, it opened its first production unit in Ghaziabad in 2012. A second manufacturing plant opened there in 2018. The business has offices in Ghaziabad, Delhi, Mumbai, and Vapi.
Currently, 60-70% of the company's turnover comes from manufacturing plastic bottles, caps, and closures, while the remaining 30-40% is from trading. “We manufacture all types of plastic bottles by investing in all kinds of technologies – injection molding, injection stretch blow molding, injection blow molding, and extrusion blow molding. There are very few companies in India with these four molding technologies in-house, and we are one of them. We also have a pump manufacturing facility which is again a major component that hardly anyone else is making in the country,” says Gaurav Daga, director of AG Poly Packs.
“Our plant is zero water discharge. We recycle the water and use it for horticulture. We have a 600 Kwh solar plant, making the company one step ahead in carbon neutral,” he adds.
As soon as the Swine Flu invaded India, sanitizer bottles were necessary. AG Poly Packs claims it was one of the biggest sanitizer bottle makers during the Swine flu and Covid-19 pandemics. During the pandemic, the firm fared well since it had a variety of bottles in several diverse shapes and styles readily available at the time.
The company's objective of exhibiting in the PackPlus exhibition was to showcase its wide range of caps and closures and to renew its customer base by exploring and expanding its footprint in the pesticides, dairy, and liquor industries. Currently, its strengths are primarily in the cosmetics, food, and beverage segments.
“The footfall is ok... but for me, I don't think this is the right month for an exhibition in the north part of India – it’s too hot, and the humidity leads to fewer footfalls. Nevertheless, potential clients are now moving from their homes to exhibitions to explore – this is the happiest news for any exhibitor. Not only domestic but also international exhibitions are gaining traction, and as these come back on track, visitors are learning about the new technologies,” says Daga.
“We have already started constructing a facility at Parwanoo in Himachal Pradesh. For Parwanoo, we have ordered the machine for flexible packaging, which is again a project for sustainability in which we will make PBL tube with mono polymer and plastic barrier laminate,” he added referring to the company’s expansion plan.
