Neena Gupta Has Received Best Actress Award At Indian International Film Festival In Boston For The Movie The Last Color

During the Indian International Film Festival, Badhai Ho actor Neena Gupta has been awarded as the ‘Best Actress’ for the movie titled The Last Color. In addition, the movie has received an award for the best feature film also.  The Last Color has been directed by celebrated chef Vikas Khanna.

Expressing happiness on receiving the award, Neena Gupta has shown her gratitude to her fans and supporters on Instagram. Through the movie The Last Color, issues of windows residing in Varanasi and Vrindaban have been highlighted.

At the Cannes Film Festival, the movie has been premiered.  Later on, the movie has been showcased in several other film festivals such as New York Indian Film Festival and Indie Meme Film Festival.

On the occasion, Neena has said that she has wished to do a role of a damsel in distress since she has always got role of strong women in the past. She has elaborated, “I have always received roles of strong women from the beginning. The media had built my perception of being a strong woman because of my personal life. I wanted to play the damsel in distress, but I wasn’t given an opportunity to explore that kind of a character”

Regarding her recent projects, Neena Gupta has revealed “I usually don’t get the movies I audition for. With ‘Badhaai Ho’, I loved the script but was anxious that someone else might get the role. I didn’t audition for the role, and I did’t even know the director. Later when I met (director) Amit Sharma, I begged him to give me the role because I really wanted to play it, and after four or five of our meeting, I got selected. I was extremely happy.”

Next, Neena Gupta is expected to be seen in Ashwini Iyer Tiwari’s Panga starring Kangana Ranaut and Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif.
