#Io is literally pocket sized....

@paramythas asked: "Hey. Tree. C'mere." Io, hands on hips, stands in front of a set of shelves. The customers currently in the shop are mortal as hell, so she has to do this the hard way. "Gimme a hand reaching those jars up there, huh?"
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐏 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐃𝐋𝐘, 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐎𝐋. kuro hadn't seen some of this kind of stuff in a long time. granted, half of it was a scam or based out of superstition. but he's been around long enough to pick some of it out by a thorough look over. if he had an actual need for half of it, he'd probably spend more money. he's reading over the ingredients of a packet when she grabs his attention.
hey, tree --- fine, deserved. he's taller than average...
Tumblr media
kuro looks from her, to the jars in question. don't they have a step stool, or a ladder or something? still, despite himself, he puts away what he'd been looking at. and moves to help her out. reaching quite easily for her, and handing it over. " my name is kuro by the way. " he says it with a smile, and an easy tone. " oh -- i saw you working with a few people early, actually. do you happen to have something here to help with sleep? " immortality be damned, he still needs it. badly...

The Korg nanoKey2 Controller comes to mind (see below). For portability, there are super small controllers that can literally fit in your back pocket. In that instance, the more keys the better. There is also the possibility of creating mapped key sets in which different ranges of the keyboard will be used to trigger different sound sources. Of course, you can always reprogram these key switches as needed. So having more keys in this instance is nice.
#Launchcontrol change octaves full#
Many orchestral sampling instruments have key switches to affect articulation choices that are located at the very bottom of the full range. These can still send out the full range of MIDI notes, but you will need to adjust the octave switches on the devices to change the currently available range, so you will not have access to all the notes at once. Other common configurations are 61, 49 and 25 key devices. Of course, more is not always better if your space is limited. If you play fluently or even passably with two hands, or if you plan to trigger instrument libraries that require the full range like piano or orchestral ensembles, then 88 might be the right choice. How many you require is in part a function of your piano skills. The number of keys can range anywhere from a single octave to the full piano range of 88 keys. The Key questions (sorry for pun again … can’t help myself) are how many keys, what size, and what type of action. Bluetooth MIDI has also come on strong lately for smaller devices and iOS control. The MIDI THRU connection is not always present, but sometimes the OUT can be configured as a THRU via internal switching on the device. Modern keyboard controllers have USB MIDI connections and often MIDI DIN connections as well.

It allows you to communicate pitch information either internally (if it has its own sounds) or to software or other hardware devices. The Keyboard is probably the most common type of MIDI controller for obvious reasons. I hope to clarify the main considerations in choosing a MIDI controller in this article so that the reader can avoid the pitfalls of over-buying or under-buying, both of which may cost you more money and create frustration down the line. are all important things to consider when choosing a controller. The devices and software that inhabit your studio or make up your rig, the type of audio production or music creation you’re engaged in, your needs for portability, your skills as an instrumentalist, etc. With the recent introduction of MIDI 2.0 and in particular, the new MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression) capability of a growing number of devices and software instruments, it is clear that MIDI as a means of inter-device and inter-application communication in music is a rock solid component that will be around for years to come. It was a good system that stood the test of time relatively unaltered. The THRU output allows messages received via MIDI IN to be sent through unchanged so that multiple devices can be daisy-chained. The connections were made via DIN-style connectors with IN, OUT and THRU connections being typical. MIDI controllers have been around since the protocol was developed by Dave Smith and Ikutaru Kakehashi in the early 80’s ( source).

Kung fury street rage budget

#KUNG FURY STREET RAGE BUDGET TV#
What Kung Fury: Street Rage does brilliantly is capture the ethos behind the button bashers of the time and translate it perfectly for that 30 second mobile quick fix. That is about all there is to it, but that’s not to suggest that anything on offer here is in any way substandard. Miss a punch and it drops back down, which – given chasing a high score is your ultimate aim – is something of a kicker. The idea, therefore, is to time your attacks on either side so that your foe can’t get to you, with score multiplier racking up so long as every swipe or kick you make lands. Each tap of the screen triggers either a punch or a kick, with Kung Fury making you look like a superhero for as long as you manage to stay alive.ĭeath comes as no surprise, either. As is the case with most arcade games, success is just a case of surviving for as long as you can. Each is tied down to tapping the associated side of the screen, with enemies approaching en masse to try and take you down. Indeed, there are only two actions within the entire game – attacking to your left, and attacking to your right. It’s because of that retro feel, of course, that the game is able to keep things simple. It’s quite something to behold: playing a game on a flash new iOS device that, in about as literal manner as can be achieved, feels like a little pocket of play from decades long past.
#KUNG FURY STREET RAGE BUDGET TV#
Hello There has gone the extra mile with Kung Fury: Street Rage, however, with the game not just adopting the pixel art graphics of the era, but also displaying it on a curved, TV screen complete with rolling scoreboards and introductory animations that perfectly replicate the experience of the coin-op games of the age. It’s a film that unashamedly mimics the music, movies and wider popular culture of the 1980s, making a Streets of Rage-esque brawler a logical tie in. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, you’ll be well aware that Kung Fury is a 30 minute long, crowdfunded 80s pastiche film written and directed by David Sandburg and starring David Hasselhoff, both as a voice in play and in the accompanying music video. Nonetheless that’s exactly what Kung Fury: Street Rage is designed to tap into. For me, the closest I ever got to an arcade machine was in the far less romantic setting of Birch Motorway Services on the M62, which probably explains why I took to Lego instead. The romantic amongst such an audience will no doubt picture an adventure packed trip to the British seaside, complete with ice creams, theme park rides and a penchant for spending a vast chunk of their pocket money in whatever Sega or Namco machine the amusement park on the pier had been able to buy. It’s safe to say the shop assistants in the Lego store weren’t especially pleased, but in the end I only spent a couple of hours in the cells at my local constabulary, so I deemed it a win.įor others, harking back to their youth involves dipping into memories of trips to their local arcade. We all love a bit of nostalgia, don’t we? Only last weekend I decided to recapture my youth by surrounding myself in a life size castle built entirely out of Lego bricks.

Dollzkastle
This is a blog dedicated to fans of the dollzkastle
To answer some Questions that you may have for myself or the dolls~ 🎀
I am going off of the questions I’ve been asked for years or even the new ones I’ve been getting since I’ve created a Tiktok~ I hope this answers your questions you’re looking for, now let’s begin 🐮
Myself Behind the dolls; my name is Decklynn but people call me Dk or Deck. I am an Agender with He and Him pronouns. I am a little with a caregiver/ daddy and I am a pet owner of 3 Kitties. I do both makeup and Doll art. I am a twenty something year old adult who’s been into crafting and customizing Dolls since I was a child. I am also an artist and got interested in drawing at a young age so I already had the type of skill to Draw on things and recreate facial hair and all types of stuff like this. I went to collage and majored in art while living at home with my parents who were Both Transphobic and Homophobic but also Abuse I’ve endured since a young age, physical, mental ive developed a great deal of mental health problems That even now I am being diagnosed and treated for. With an alcoholic parent and upon my mental health problems and living in a terrible environment that was life long I left home and left school and started my own life with my fiancé One day my fiancé was online and seen Big dolls that looked realistic and those dolls I was so fascinated by. I have never seen anything like them and to make a big 3D version of my ocs and crafting just sound like a dream come true. So I did it! I bought my very first BJD 600$ and I never regretted that. I wanted this one because I just fell Inlove with him. I know you’re thinking 600$!? That’s crazy but it literally is worth every penny when you put your heart and soul into a project it’s like your favorite anime character but you create them and you style them, that’s the best way I think I can put it.drawing on them is not as easy as other may think, you can be a phenomenal artist but still lack the skill to paint on them so it took me years to build the skill I have now. I am still learning 🤍🐮My first dolls unboxing is on YouTube under Octoberv12 ~ if you’re interested in just a little photo video of that time it seems like now, forever ago. My dolls gained huge popularity in 2018 on Instagram where there is a page I’ve dedicated to fanart and cosplays if you just #dollzkastlefanart on Instagram you will find them. I’ve taken a big break from them and left my old account behind to start a fresh and new one in 2020 till a month ago that’s when I decided to join Tiktok. I’ve been doing little music clips of the dolls for a while so I thought you guys would Enjoy them too 💓🐮
Questions and answers ?
Where are you from? New York
What websites are you on?
YouTube I have the dolls playlists individually. I put a lot of effort and energy into their characters they all have stories, music playlists and even avatars and their own accounts on Social media sites.
I am on Instagram under Dollzkastle, myDollzkastle, Decklynnkastle, Decklynnkastlee, omridurr, Acydfei, Princethedoll, Rjeaii, Dollzkastlefanart, Xeroyandere, milesophelia, crysky1, miloscenebabyxo, flowerboyrose, & itsmamamikki & Jasphire.vu
On Fb under Decklynn kastle or Milo Ryo
On Tiktok decklynn kastle or Dollzkastle
On Imvu Decklynnkastle, ivanx3, jeninsai, crackheadsymbols, charleta123, oaklynn10, jasphirexx, romanjackjrs, charleta1, Gemini953005, Milesawayfromyliife, BinxLemment, miloscenebaby, yandereboi7, Princethedoll1, acydfei, royal461349, KandyKimmy, mama13708, thyunderbolt1, ezratheomen
On Tumblr @dollzkastle @acydslitterbox
@ezratheomen , @mamamikki there are more but I’m not too active on tumblr right now
Do you sell your dolls? No I do not they’re my babies and I put a lot of work into their characters and I am emotionally attached to each of them. I have sold some that I didn’t bond well with.
What do you use to paint on them? I use acrylic paint, soft pastels, water color pencils, graphite, acrylic gloss and sealer. Doll eyelashes, little craft hoops and balls for piercings and craft tiny beads for jewlary. I use yarn sometimes for their hair but other times I purchase their hair online. Sometimes I draw them tattoos and sometimes I use Temp tattoos.
Do you do commissions? I do commissions for people who need work done to their own BJDs like faceups, hair or blush and nail art. I don’t buy dolls to work on to sell but in the future I’d like to do that. It’s an expensive hobby so get your pockets ready. My faceups are 60$ but for something really advanced it will be 80$ plus shipping charges. Nail art is 5$, blush is 10$ wigs are 25$ I’ve had people ask if they could buy the doll send them to my address instead of their home, I work on them and then send them to that person but you have to remember there is money involved and I mean lots of it so if you’re buying a 300$ doll via through me to a website you have to be willing to also pay me for putting this doll together which we can talk about via email the price. I will be able to hook you up with feedback located on Instagram under my thread “Dollzkastle” where you can see some of the items I’ve sold or commissions I’ve done and my customers I’ve had.
The quickest way to reach me is via Instagram on Decklynn kastle 🐮💗
What are the dolls made out of ?
Resin. I know there are vinyl bJDs out there but mine are just made out of resin~ 🍭🤍
So if you don’t sell your dolls, where do I get one ?? On BJD websites but be aware of scams or Recasts also which are usually cheaper and too good to be true prices. I’ve had my fair share in mistakes with this in the beginning after my first Doll. Do lots of research on YouTube to learn more. Recasts are heavily looked down upon in the hobby and people tend to stay away from and not talk about them because they are a problem to the hobby and create damage by taking an artists work and selling them for much cheaper. You will not get head plates or certificate or authenticity cards or an original Box. They tend to be much smaller then an originalwitj seam lines and sometimes they’re easy to spot so just save your coins and go legit, Support the artists. I do not bully people but others will. Some official Bjd cheap websites are thejunkyspot, Angel of dream, mystic kids, migidoll, Alicecollections, bobobie, withdoll, littleRebel, littlemonica, supiadoll and crobidolls and so many more just do some research y’all find them. If you have that type of money or want to save then check, Hummingdolly, dollshe, Soom, Doll chateau, dream valley, Iplehouse, Dikadoll, iOS (immortality of soul) distantmemory (the BTS dolls are from here I know a lot of you like BTS I am a Kpopper myself lol) and there’s just so so much more just type Bjd websites and y’all find a ton~ I just kinda remembered these at the top of my head. Lol 🐮💕
So where do you get clothes and accessories from?! Some are from EBay, Etsy, Amazon. Some are form people on IG who sell first come first served or little shops that don’t have a big name or anything that I just run into who happen to be selling what I want or need for a doll. I don’t make my own eyes but others do I get mine either commissioned or on the websites I just stated. Some stuff are handmade like wigs and clothing I do sometimes make those. You just have to know the size of your doll and their eye measurements and head measurements. 💗🐮
💜🍼Prince and his paci? The girl who sold them I bought two and she stopped selling them I’m currently looking myself for some Bigger doll pacis.
💕How big are your dolls? They’re as big as a toddler but much thinner. Some 3 feet and some a bit smaller but they’re large dolls sometimes people don’t realize that 🐮🤍 you can by a variety of diff sizes like MSD (1/4 30cm ranges) SD (1/3 60-75 cm range) SD uncle 80+ and Yosd (smaller 20cm or smaller range) I might be a little off but it’s because I only purchase the bigger ones I don’t have much interest in smaller currently.
Is it okay if I cosplay or draw or use anything from you for a project or anything like that? Just let me know or tag me 🌸💜🍭 I love seeing recreations in your art style.
Can I send the dolls gifts or things?
Someone is making my dolls currently clothes from their clothing line and I am so excited for this!! Over the years some of the dolls have been greatfully gifted things or given things and it just makes my heart melt so of course you can! Just Message me Via Decklynn kastle on IG to let me give you some info🤍💕💗🐮
I will be back to continue filling this out if I get more questions I haven’t already answered 💕🤍🐮 I hope I answered some for you! 🍭🌸 thank you for being lovely & have a great day!

Squad 51's IV kit is fucking massive. On the other hand, they're not a transport vehicle.
(For reference, our IV kit includes the IO stuff and is about the size of a kleenex box. We keep fluids in the same pocket of the first in, usually a 500ml and a liter.)

Greek Life
Tumblr media
Author: kpopfanfictrash
Pairing: Taehyung / Reader
Word Count: 3,218
AU: Demigod / College Fraternity
Dialogue Prompt: "Are you suggesting an orgy?” (warning: this got a bit darker than intended but there’s light at the end!)
↳ part of my AU drabble game
“Alright.” Both arms crossed over his chest, Seokjin glared at Hoseok, son of Apollo. “I just want to be clear about one thing tonight.”
Without glancing up from his phone, Hoseok pushed dark Gucci sunglasses up the bridge of his nose. “Yes, brother?”
“Not brothers,” Seokjin corrected. “Anyways, this is me reminding you that your set volume cannot be over 100 decibels tonight. If we get another noise complaint, this house is toast.”
If Hoseok did roll his eyes, Seokjin couldn’t see through the sunglasses. The generally dismissive slouch of his posture was answer enough.
“Yeah, sure, whatever,” Hoseok drawled.
Seokjin’s frown deepened. “Yeah, I’m afraid I’m gonna need more than that. The last time you said you’d keep it down, we hit 125 decibels and the house nearly collapsed.”
“A gross exaggeration,” said Yoongi, son of Hades, currently curled up on the sofa. “As the demi-god of earthquakes –”
“Actually, Poseidon is in charge of earthquakes.”
“– seeing as we have no son of Poseidon in this house, I am demi-god of earthquakes, and I can inform you that the house was not close to falling down.”
“Irregardless,” Seokjin said.
“Irregardless isn’t a word!”
Namjoon’s voice drifted from somewhere on the third floor. As son of Athena, goddess of wisdom and strategy, Namjoon took grave offense to grammatical errors.
Seokjin sighed. Rubbing his forehead, he contemplated whether his continued attempts at decency were worth it. At least if he tried, he could tell himself he did everything he could to stop chaos before it arrived. Decision made, Seokjin fixed Hoseok with his best no-nonsense glare. It was a good one, to be sure. As the son of Demeter, goddess of harvest and earth, Seokjin was the most grounded one in the fraternity.
“Hoseok,” he said. The younger demi-god looked up. “You will keep it down or I’ll personally call your father.”
The smirk disappeared from Jung Hoseok’s face. “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Oh, but I would.”
Seokjin sounded so stern, Hoseok didn’t feel like calling him out. Despite his cooler-than-thou appearance, Hoseok had major daddy issues – as in, he hated his. Apollo was a difficult guy to be be cuddly with, to be fair. On the surface, he seemed everything a father figure should be: personable, warm and awe-inspiring. Apollo was the god of the sun, healing, prophecy, music and poetry. As one might expect from the god of the sun though, he had rather high expectations for his offspring.
Hoseok didn’t care about greatness, so long as he had a good tune and good times. One time, he semi-jokingly proposed to Apollo that he become the demi-god of DJ’s and sick beats. Apollo wasn’t amused by the suggestion.
“Fine.” Hoseok placed both feet on the floor. “Dearest Seokjin, I will try to keep it down but know this,” he said, pushing a hand through his hair. “You have ruined the soul of an artist.”
Seokjin tried not to laugh. “Yeah, cool. I’ll take my chances.”
Turning around, Seokjin exited the living room into the main hall. There, he found himself face to face with what could only be described as chaos. Taehyung, son of Dionysus, absently twined grape vines up the stairs while Jimin, son of Aphrodite and Jungkook, son of Zeus, argued in front of the door.
Taehyung cocked his head while he stared at the bannister, trying to make sense of it all. As the son of Dionysus – god of wine, fertility and ecstasy – he was not unaccustomed to parties. Even his origin story at the frat involved one. When the other men showed up this year for their first day of campus, they found Taehyung entrenched in their backyard, midway through the biggest beach rager the University had ever seen.
As to his method of arrival and when, even Taehyung was not sure on the details. General merriment seemed to follow him wherever he went. The moment he decided to attend University, obviously the party followed him to his new destination.
Regardless, Taehyung was welcomed into Beta Tau Sigma (BTS) with open arms, due to the similarities he had with its other members. Taehyung was descended from a god of the Greek Pantheon, as they all were. Most mortals were shocked to learn gods and demi-gods still walked amongst them. Most mortals were blind, though and rarely saw what was beyond their noses.
Taehyung looked up, surveying the chaos before him. Kim Seokjin, eldest of the house, usually adopted a parental role to the others. At that moment, he had both hands on his hips and was attempting to mediate a fight between Jimin and Jungkook.
Already, sparks leapt from Jungkook’s fingers while Jimin’s gaze burned ruby-red with his anger.
Jimin, son of Aphrodite.
Sweet and beautiful, with a temperament to match until you spoke ill of his loved ones. Then, all bets were off and as lovely as Jimin could be, his temper was far worse. Sweet words turned poisonous when spewed from his lips, since Jimin was also armed with the gift of persuasion. Jungkook attempted to avoid said power by not looking Jimin in the eyes.
“Look!” Jungkook said, one hand over his face. “I didn’t say your mother was easy! I just said she has a lot of demi-god children. That’s all!”
“She’s the goddess of love,” Jimin hissed, attempting to swat Jungkook’s hand down. His gaze burned scarlet in an otherwise calm expression. “Obviously she has children! You’re one to talk, anyways. How’s good ‘ol dad doing? Impregnated any mortals recently? Turned himself into a ray of light? A cow?”
“Hey! He turned Io into a cow, not himself!”
“How is that better?”
Shrugging, Jungkook nearly stumbled as he crashed into an a thousand-year-old lamp.
Appearing from nowhere, Yoongi deftly caught this and replaced it on the counter. “Welcome,” he mumbled, drifting into the kitchen.
For a minute, Jimin and Jungkook forgot their fight and stared.
“Dude needs to announce himself more,” Jungkook said, momentarily thrown.
Shoving both hands into the pockets of his hoodie, Jungkook revealed a small rip in the seams. Despite his grunge, Jungkook was still one of the most handsome guys around campus. It was hard not to be with his chiseled jawline, tousled hair and dark, piercing gaze. If there were a student vote on who was most likely to be a demi-god amongst them, Jeon Jungkook would be the unanimous favorite.
Still, he had problems of his own. Mainly that despite all his achievements, his father continued to insist he failed to meet expectations. A demigod of Zeus was powerful and as such, was expected to accomplish great feats. So far, Jungkook had only been the youngest person ever to climb Mt. Everest, written a collection of poems reviewed in Time Magazine, discovered a purpose for the appendix not previously thought of and contributed several designs to NASA’s most recent launch.
Zeus called it all child’s play.
Shortly following, Jungkook stopped trying to impress his father and enrolled in University. Still, it wasn’t unusual to run into Jungkook at odd hours of the night, muttering corrections of Machiavellian theory with a bottle of wine in one hand.
All of this went to say that Taehyung understood why Jungkook was sometimes an ass. Jimin was lucky amongst them, as far as demi-gods went. He had intense, emotional power but he also had a goddess who loved him. Taehyung, on the other hand, had rarely seen his father since he had discovered what he truly was. It was hard having a father in charge of general celebration. It meant Dionysus was often called elsewhere, usually interrupting any father-son bonding time.
“Listen.” Seokjin rubbed his forehead. “You two are giving me an Athena-sized headache. Stop bickering and help Taehyung – his vines are out of control.”
Glancing at his hands, Taehyung realized Seokjin was correct. While he had been watching them argue, his vines had taken on a life of their own. They twined around his legs, the banister and sprouted large clusters of pomegranates (which, frankly, didn’t make any sense). Absently, Taehyung plucked one of them and took a large bite. Lately, he’d been very interested in pomegranates.
Clomping his way downstairs, Namjoon batted vines out of the way. “Are you going to clean this up before tonight?” he said to Taehyung, who nodded. To Seokjin, he added, “And watch what you say about my mother.”
“I was being literal!” Seokjin protested. “Your mom was literally born from Zeus’ mind, so obviously her birth was a headache. I don’t make the rules –”
“Thank the gods for that.”
“Shut up, Jungkook.”
This last statement was exclaimed by Jimin, Seokjin and Namjoon combined. Abruptly, Jungkook turned around on his heel and exited the lobby. Once he was gone, some of the red dissipated from Jimin’s gaze.
He looked sympathetically at Taehyung. “Need help cleaning?” Jimin offered, laying a hand on the bannister.
His touch instantly trimmed the vines, sending blossoming roses over the rest.
Taehyung wrinkled his nose. “This looks… somehow worse.”
“Sorry, man.” Jimin’s lips twitched. “My botanical powers only go so far.”
With a wave of his hand, Seokjin transformed the mess into neat, tidy rows of vines up the staircase. As the son of Demeter, he had the best grasp over all earthly elements.
“There.” Satisfied, Seokjin dusted both palms on his pants. He looked curiously at Taehyung. “You alright, man? Lately, your powers have been, uh…”
It was considered impolite to comment on another demi-god’s powers; hence why Seokjin trailed off at the end.
Taehyung tilted his head. “They’ve been what, exactly?”
Seokjin seemed distinctly uncomfortable. “Off?”
“On the fritz,” said Jimin helpfully.
“Borderline chaotic,” Namjoon added.
Taehyung considered their input. “Borderline chaotic is kind of my nature, no?”
“Yes, but…” Namjoon shook his head. “Not like this.”
Chewing on his lip, Taehyung was forced to admit they were right. His powers had always been intense, but they were usually controlled. Despite the influence he exerted over others, Taehyung could never party or grow drunk on his own power. In his opinion, this was his great curse. No matter what Taehyung did, he always found himself the eye of the hurricane, the center of the storm. He could never lose himself in the relief he provided to others; could only watch while they did.
Lately though, his powers had changed. They were darker, less controlled and had a frustrated edge. Glancing down at the pomegranate he held in one hand, Taehyung saw the seeds were an ominous shade of dark purple.
“It’s because of Y/N,” Jungkook said as he entered the room.
Taehyung’s head snapped up.
Leaning his shoulder to the wall, Jungkook stared lazily back. Power crackled restlessly about him like thunder.
“What?” He arched a brow. “You know I’m right.”
Though Taehyung’s lips parted, he had no response because Jungkook was correct. If Taehyung retraced his magic to the moment it changed, it was around the time he met you. Or, more accurately, it was around the time you rejected him.
Taehyung’s stomach twisted.
“Who’s Y/N?” Namjoon asked, glancing between them.
Taehyung tried and failed to look casual. “No one.”
He could barely push the words past his lips, which prompted Namjoon to arch a brow. “Doesn’t seem like no one.”
“She is,” Taehyung muttered. “She wants nothing to do with me – rightfully so. Which means that she’s no one.”
“That seems harsh, Tae,” Seokjin chastised. “How do you know?”
His gaze softened looking at Taehyung. Taehyung was the youngest amongst them aside from Jungkook, so the other demi-gods felt the need to protect him. No one else thought to, thanks to Taehyung’s abilities but in him, the others saw their younger selves. His powers drained him so often and left him feeling exhausted from their personal nature.
When Taehyung said nothing more, Jungkook sighed. “Just the usual,” he said, a bit gentler. “The same girl came to a few of our parties. Taehyung liked her. His powers got out of control. When she tried to kiss him, he pulled his powers away and she freaked. Ran out of the party before he could explain.”
“What would I explain?” Taehyung said, unable to help himself. The vines at his feet withered and turned an unnatural shade of black. “Hey, sorry about that! I’m just the demi-god of parties and wine. You got too buzzed on my power, so I tried to pull back and return your free will. Wanna hang?”
Even Namjoon had no response, rubbing the back of his neck. “Or,” he suggested. “You could just apologize about the party and offer to buy her a coffee.”
Taehyung looked up. “That’s just a temporary fix, right? Eventually, I’ll have to tell her and – let’s face it – who would stay? I’ve seen what these powers do to my dad. I’ve seen what they did to his other children. It’s pointless to become attached to a mortal.”
Out of all Dionysus’s children, Taehyung was the only one currently living. Most had been famous throughout history – musicians and actors known more for their parties than the talent they had. Many died young, unable to cope with the effects of their powers. Taehyung knew it was smart to push you away, since he couldn’t control himself and his powers often proved lethal.
Still, a pang entered his stomach whenever he thought of you. Whenever he remembered the shape of your lips, the way that you smiled and the uncertain way your fingers curled in your sundress. You laughed in two ways when you talked. One was a quiet, self-conscious giggle, but other was Taehyung’s favorite. It was more of a snort than a laugh, granted whenever Taehyung said something particularly funny.
The memory of this made Taehyung’s heart twist and he swallowed, looking away from the others.
At the bottom of the stairs, Jimin seemed distressed by his pain. He probably was; oftentimes, Jimin confused other people’s emotions for his own.
“I’m sorry, Tae,” he said softly.
“S’alright,” Taehyung muttered, even though it wasn’t.
“Can I do anything to help?” Jimin brightened. “Want me to use my powers, or something?”
Jungkook looked at him in amazement. “Are you suggesting an orgy? Dude, this hardly seems like the time.”
Jimin glared. “That’s not all my powers are good for, you jackass. I can make people forget their troubles, you know. At least for a little while.”
The tips of his fingers glowed faintly pink and Jungkook glanced at his hands, thoroughly unnerved. Jimin’s power of persuasion extended beyond simply telling others what to do. He could make someone else feel happy, sad, tired or angry – a hefty power, although it wore off after awhile and wasn’t quite as good as the real thing.
Taehyung shook his head. “No, thanks. Appreciate the offer, though.”
“Anytime.”
As he climbed the stairs, Seokjin clapped Taehyung on the shoulder. “Sorry, man,” he mumbled, understanding the fear. Truly, they all did. “Let me know if you need anything. I’m gonna bake later if you wanna stop by.”
Taehyung smiled despite himself. If there was one earthly power which could cure his longing, it was Seokjin’s cookies. “Thanks, man.”
Shooting him a sympathetic look, Jungkook nodded and Jimin poked him hard in the ribs. “C’mon,” Jimin said, jerking his chin. “Let’s go help Hobi with his playlist before Seokjin pops a vein worrying.”
A giant grin stretched over Jungkook’s face, which the rest of them should have found worrisome.
“Cool.” Head bobbing, he followed Jimin down the hall. “Yoongi showed me this great eastern European doom metal band. Gonna see if I can get Hobi to play it tonight.”
Jimin snorted, his voice growing softer the further away he got. “Get the demi-god of the sun to play doom metal? Good luck with that, man.”
“Maybe if I tell him Mariah Carey covered it.”
The sounds of their conversation faded to nothing, leaving Taehyung alone in the hall with Namjoon. Turning quickly, Taehyung attempted to leave but was halted in his descent by Namjoon clearing his throat.
Slowly, Taehyung looked up at his friend.
Namjoon looked back.
No one could stare quite like Namjoon. He had a piercing gaze, as though he saw every piece of your soul and was able to size you up to expectation. It made Taehyung wildly uncomfortable, as it did most people.
“You know you’re only a half god, right?” Namjoon tilted his head. “Part of you is also human.”
“I know.” Taehyung’s voice came out somewhat petulant, though he did not mean it to be.
Crossing both arms, Namjoon leaned a shoulder against the wall. His irises glowed the gentle gold of Athena. “It’s hard to control our powers,” he admitted. “It is, but there are difficulties in any relationship. Don’t give up on your own happiness.”
A wan smile crossed Taehyung’s lips. “Are the difficulties in most relationships that the guy semi-drugs his girlfriend whenever he loses control?”
Namjoon winced. “You don’t drug them.”
“Feels like it,” Taehyung muttered, glancing down.
“Their natural impulses are already there,” Namjoon pointed out. “Your presence at parties doesn’t make people drunk. People drinking makes people drunk. You only lower their inhibitions, call out their truth, give people the freedom inebriation gives without intoxication. You grant people their truest form – which is a gift, not a curse.”
Taehyung didn’t respond. He knew Namjoon was right, at least in part. Still, there existed within him a kernel of darkness he couldn’t control. His power was linked to such horror and melancholy; it was hard sometimes to see the light.
“Hey.” Namjoon took a step closer. His voice took on that maddening wisdom which came from the goddess. “We all have burdens. Humans do too, along with demi-gods. Our greatest strengths are often our greatest weaknesses. Someone who’s confident is prideful. Someone who’s humble? Inactive. Someone who rationalizes, often fails to empathize. It’s why relationships are necessary, Taehyung – they provide balance. You can’t simply close yourself off from the rest of the world.”
Taehyung’s gaze sharpened, looking up from the floor. The vines at his feet unfurled, reminding them that while Taehyung’s power was mostly parties and fun, there was a dark side of revelry which couldn’t be forgotten. Madness and misery emerged just as often as goodness when he called true selves forth.
“Okay.” Taehyung kept his voice level.
Seeing he wouldn’t budge on the matter, Namjoon sighed.
Truthfully, Taehyung heard his advice and longed to accept it, but found it too hard. It was difficult when his chest ached for you, when he couldn’t stop chastising himself for the moment you ran from his house.
Namjoon nodded and turned down the staircase. “Let me know if you need anything,” he called over his shoulder. “Gonna go and make sure Yoongi hasn’t turned the basement into another séance, or something.”
As he left, his footsteps growing quieter, Taehyung stared the sight of his retreating back. Uncertainty entered the pit of his stomach, wondering if perhaps Namjoon was right. The sanest to date Taehyung had felt was the past year in the house, living amongst others who understood what he was.
Maybe it was foolish of him to push you away.
As soon as he thought this, his phone chimed in his pocket. The sight of your name at the top of his screen sent his heart soaring, wondering if this coincidence was something he couldn’t ignore. Pushing blue-black hair from his eyes, he unlocked your text.
Y/N: hey. I just wanted to apologize for leaving so quickly. I think I drank too much, got carried away but… I really liked our conversation. Would you want to get coffee sometime? [4:15 PM]
Taehyung’s heart constricted, his hands trembled and before he could stop himself, he was responding.
Taehyung: yes, please. When?? [4:16 PM]
Author’s Note: hey, I just got service at the hotel so I’m posting but I haven’t proof-read as much as I usually do! Please forgive any errors, I promise to read over it again in the coming days :) thank you!

I just realized something.
Minecraft has been around for a long time. Countless documentaries about Minecraft have been made that show that, including this one which I just watched recently.
But how old is the game compared to me? How long... have I been playing Minecraft?
(don’t read under the cut if you don’t want to know certain personal information about me)
On a seemingly unrelated note (but TRUST ME it’s relevant), the history of Minecraft Pocket Edition Lite is pretty scattered. Sources disagree on when it was first added to the App Store on iOS, but they can agree that it was removed from the App Store on October 13th, 2013.
Now that’s a long time ago, right? I mean, 2013 was, what... seven years ago? Wow, it must be a long time, huh? But here’s the thing.
I distinctly remember playing on PE Lite.
I remember certain specifics of the game. The gravel texture in-game didn’t use the old gravel texture, but the old old gravel texture. Inaccessible blocks were given to you in infinite amounts. There was LAN multiplayer mode, but worlds wouldn’t save. The world size was small, and it had a “world border”, but the border was faulty and you could fly over it in Creative Mode once you went about 256 blocks up.
That’s cool and all, but what does that mean for how long I’ve been playing the game? Well, let’s say I started playing Minecraft PE Lite in 2013, the last year it was up on the App Store. (That’s unlikely, since I probably started playing a year or two earlier, but the same point will be made later regardless.) Well I’ve been playing Minecraft continuously since then. That’s eight years. So I’ve been playing Minecraft for half the time I’ve been alive.
Wow. Really? Really.
No wonder I felt so compelled to do so many things Minecraft-related for much of my life. No wonder I subconsciously decided to turn my only main Tumblr blog into a mineblr. It’s been with me for half the time I’ve been alive. That’s crazy!
When PE Lite shut down, I switched to Pocket Edition. Then, before that changed to Bedrock Edition, I switched again to Java Edition. And I’ve been there ever since. I’ve been here ever since, baby.
The oldest Minecraft video I could find of myself is not on my channel. It’s from August of 2015, and it was where I played a game of Hypixel UHC. Wow. History really repeats itself, doesn’t it?
Back then, Java Edition 1.8 wasn’t the preferred update. It was the only update, the most recent version the game had been updated to.
And in that video, my voice was super high-pitched. I didn’t remember my voice being that high-pitched! Was I really that young?! I remember being the shortest in my class. And this was in 2015. I was ten years old then. Wow.
I’m just in awe at a lot of this. I’m mostly feeling existential dread, yes, but a bunch more of a lot of other things. Minecraft has, quite literally, been in my life for as long as I can remember.
And now, we reach the end of this post. And to you, dear reader, I hope you are not a mutual reading this. I do not mind if you are a lurker, but really, my target audience with this post is one person, and one person only: myself. Are you me? Well if you’re reading this, then the tag has worked.
From now on, I’m tagging every diary entry-like post like this with a readmore with #future-tag. That means that in the future, I should just search up future tag to find all of my posts like this. I hope this works.
Farewell, and godspeed!

5e Yuumi the Magical Cat build (and a test of Tumblr formatting)
Tumblr media
So I have no idea how this website works but I mostly made this account to post DnD 5e character builds based on characters I like. Ever since the latest UA came out I’ve been ecstatic over the fact that we finally got another Support-based Warlock that isn’t Celestial. The fact that it’s a genie Warlock is awesome and there’s tons of roleplay that can be done with a pocket wish-granting elemental walking around with you... good thing we’re ignoring all that for the sake of B O O K!
Yuumi! To be honest I haven’t played League of Legends in ages but Yuumi was a character who drew my attention immediately because she’s an UwU Kitty-Cat... who had like a 36% win rate on release. She’s better now though! ...Probably. Regardless Yuumi was my immediate thought when I saw the tether mechanic from the latest Warlock UA. Constructing a build for The Magical 7th Item Slot Cat was something on my mind for the longest time, probably because the only other character I could replicate is... what? Io from DOTA?
I got the OK from Tulok the Barbrarian-senpai to make some DnD builds which is why I’m using his format. All these builds will keep away from Homebrew and can all be made on D&D Beyond... as long as your DM allows Unearthed Arcana which this build heavily relies on.
GOALS
Shield, heal, cuddle! - Yuumi is a support, through-and-through. Probably one of the most support-focused supports in the game. While this build will still have good damage output the main focus is on keeping your teammates alive and well.
Book, do something! - Yuumi is a dynamic duo between the cat and the book. Hopefully your DM is okay with you not really having a “patron” and instead having a sentient book fly around instead. I mean, it’s basically just a Hexblade right?
Lost Chapter - Yuumi honestly has a pretty basic kit. Replicating 4 spells is easy as cake in 5e so a lot of this build will be focused on replicating Yuumi’s typical item build as well.
RACE
Well as you can tell Yuumi is clearly a Bugbe-Ah who am I kidding she’s a Tabaxi. You’re welcome to pick whatever race you want but Tabaxi is honestly a good pick for this build. You get an increase to both DEX and CHA, some useful skills (be sure to ward bush!), and probably the most important skill: Feline Agility. Much like Yuumi you don’t want to be caught off-guard so a quick self-use of Zoomies can help you get away from the enemy and back to your team. For your language of choice... is Yordle an option? Halfling is probably the closest you’ll get to Yordles in 5e so just opt for that instead.
ABILITY SCORES
Much like Tulok I’ll be using Standard Array for ease-of-use. Roll for stats if you want but this is a general guideline for where to put your highs and lows.
15; CHARISMA - You’re cute, cuddly, and oh-so snuggly. Yuumi in-lore is an innate spellcaster and that translates into Charisma; helps that this also impacts Persuasion for head scritches.
14; DEXTERITY - Yuumi isn’t the fastest champion in-game (it’s on Book to do the “walking”) but she’s still a cat, and cats are fast. Dexterity affects AC as well as several other useful things.
13; INTELLIGENCE - Your best friend is literally a floating book it’s bound to know something.
12; WISDOM - You’re a smart kitty and you know a thing or two about Yordles... doesn’t stop you from dissing everyone else though.
10; CONSTITUTION - It’s technically in-character to dump Constitution but I don’t recommend it. Intelligence and Wisdom are higher on this list but you don’t really need them - feel free to get some Ruby Crystals.
8; STRENGTH - Here’s something that’s in-character to dump and I do recommend dumping. Strength is almost completely redundant in this build so don’t be afraid to ditch it.
This would be the point array I’d use if I was RPing Yuumi but if I wanted a more functional character I’d go CHA / DEX / CON / (INT / WIS) / STR for my stat spread. But much like in League you’re more than welcome to buy some health boosting items (notably an Amulet of Health) to compensate for bad stats.
BACKGROUND
Yuumi spent most of her time in Nora her master’s hut which would technically make her a Cloistered Scholar? But Sage works better if you’re teaming up with Book. You gain Arcana and History proficiencies which are honestly the two I’d pick for a magic cat that has a sentient Book as a best friend. You also get the Researcher feature which lets you know where to find any information: Book knows everything and can bring you anywhere - ask them to tell you where to go! You also get two languages and... uhhh who synergizes well with Yuumi? ...Yasuo? Is there a monkey language in 5e? Jokes aside just pick whatever language you think will be useful.

THE BUILD
This may come as a surprise but despite the fact that this build was made almost entirely for the sake of using the new UA Warlock patron we’re actually not starting with Warlock! While half of Yuumi’s power comes from Book (who I’d consider the “patron” in this relationship) the other half of her power is innate. Now I could make her a Sorcerer to reflect the magic within her or I could perhaps make her a Wizard to get more value out of Book but I had to ask myself a question: which class in D&D would be the best for a character who regularly insults and sasses other characters and thinks too highly of themselves?
LEVEL 1 - BARD 1
Yes this build is a Bardlock build, and the only reason we’re going Bard first is for the extra music instruments as well as the choice of any skill we want.
Your choice of instrument doesn’t matter much (it’s mildly important for Instruments of the Bard or if you have an Artificer, but other than that don’t worry) but I’m contractually obligated to take a Lyre every time I make a Bard. Other than that you synergize with Yasuo so steal his Flute, and I’ve always been a fan of Pentakill so I’ll take the closest to a guitar. (Lute)
For skills take Acrobatics, Persuasion, and Survival. You’re a cat which means you need to be quick on your feet and are adorable as hecc, and you need some survival instinct when you’re constantly hopping between dimensions. (Truthfully though as a Bard you should be picking skills that your party lacks, though I’d argue that Acrobatics and Persuasion should always be taken to remain “in character.”)
For cantrips take Message to coordinate with your party in team chat and Vicious Mockery; Yuumi is a cat of sass so feel free to diss your local god by calling him a dog. Or alternatively this could be you flaming the enemy team in /all - I won’t judge.
Cure Wounds and Healing Word are absolute musts for any support - in particular Cure Wounds is good for you since you can cast it from wherever your You and Me (tether) target is located. This means that whoever you’re tethered to can get the full value of Cure Wounds instead of you being forced to pop Healing Word instead. Other than that Longstrider lets you replicate Zoomies’ movement speed boost, and you can never go wrong with Featherfall. (The only spells that are really “mandatory” here is Cure Wounds. Maybe Longstrider too. Healing Word is always useful but both it and Featherfall are just suggestions.)
LEVEL 2 - WARLOCK 1
And from Bard we immediately jump to the meat of this build: The Noble Genie Warlock! You get your Collector’s Vessel which hopefully your DM will let be a book with cat-sized portals inside of it?
You also get some cantrips and guess what? Eldrich Blast! Yeah it’s a Warlock build you’re going to take Eldrich Blast. Other than that take Minor Illusion to pull something scary out of Book at the right time.
For main spells Hex is great to deal extra damage and also lets you debuff some of the target’s ability checks. Sleep is more of a Zoe thing but it’s still an insane pact-specific spell so there’s no reason not to take it.
LEVEL 3 - WARLOCK 2
We’re going to keep going in Warlock firstly for Eldrich Invocations. The main one you want here is Lance of Lethargy so you can replicate Prowling Projectile’s movement speed slow and help set up some kills for your team. The other invocation slot will be left open for now as we wait for level 4, as will our spell choice.
LEVEL 4 - WARLOCK 3
Hello Book! Of course we’re taking Pact of the Tome for the Book of Thresholds Shadows, or just Book for short. Again be sure to ask your DM if the book can be sentient for RP purposes. Or alternatively have it not act be sentient and make your party think your crazy when you talk to it! As for cantrips take Guidance to buff your ADC with some Adaptive Force (note: Guidance will not increase damage), Mending to fix any tears Book may receive (don’t want any more lost chapters!), and even though you’re not really a melee fighter being able to magically scratch nearby champions enemies with Shocking Grasp will give you a fighting chance if you get stuck in the middle of combat.
Note: While it would be more in flavor to use Primal Savagery the reason I opted for Shocking Grasp is because you can cast it through your ally to cause an enemy to be unable to take Reactions. It’s more in flavor to scratch at your enemies but Shocking Grasp is far more useful for this build. Truthfully you can take any cantrip you want though these are just recommendations; I know having 3 damaging cantrips is a little excessive but I like having an attack roll cantrip, saving throw cantrip, and backup melee cantrip.
Now for the Invocation we skipped. I think most 5e veterans have identified what we’re looking for: Book of Ancient Secrets. Book is a resourceful... book and the value of Ritual spells can’t go unmentioned. Take Comprehend Languages and Identify: flip through Book’s pages until you can find the info that you want! And don’t be afraid about picking bad rituals because you can just inscribe more rituals later on!
Now for Spells! Once we get to 2nd level spells we get a lot more stuff to choose from but let’s just choose the main spells we need:
Misty Step - You’re a noob if you’re not packing Flash. Also since this is a multiclass build the problem of Misty Step taking Pact Magic slots can be negated, as you can use your Bard slots to cast Misty Step.
Hold Person - Hit a snare with Final Chapter so your friends can clean up!
Truthfully though all your 2nd level spells open up a huge array of possibilities and I’d recommend picking up any one of them. The Noble Genie gets Enlarge / Reduce which is one of my favorite spells thematically: feel free to pop an Elixir of Iron on your tank!
LEVEL 5 - BARD 2
Feel free to take Warlock 4 for the ASI but I’d like to get the Bard features up-and-running. At level 2 you get Jack of All Trades which means that Book can always help you out of a jam. You also get Song of Rest which further solidifies your role as a support.
For your spell of choice Charm Person lets you use that cute kitty face of yours to get a bunch of fan art on DeviantArt.
LEVEL 6 - BARD 3
Let’s start by picking out our Expertise because that’s the easy bit: Arcana and History - straight from your background. You’re a magic cat with a sentient book you should know these skills well.
Now for your Bard College. There are several good choices: Lore gives you more Magical Secrets to let you “itemize” better, College of Valor lets you buff your allies’ attacks with some Adaptive Force, but at the end of the day the question is this: what subclass lets you shield while also increasing your allies’ movement?
College of Glamour yes really! The main reason for this is Mantle of Inspiration which was the most Yuumi-esque ability of the bunch. You can expect a Bardic Inspiration die to give all your allies temporary HP as well as allow them to move as a reaction without provoking opportunity attacks. You also get Enthralling Performance which is certainly a nice bonus: distract a crowd with your feline charm while the rest of your team does their work.
You also get another spell and... I’ll be honest throwing all the spells on this guide is making this post far longer than it needs to be. I can give some general advice but I’m only here for the class features - not the spells. Pick spells that will help your team, the same way you’d itemize to help your team in League.
LEVEL 7 - BARD 4
Mostly taking Level 4 Bard now for the ASI. Bump Charisma for better spellcasting.
You also get another cantrip: get Dancing Lights to summon some moon moths to chase!
Note: One more level in Bard will get you Font of Inspiration, which allows your Bardic Inspiration to come back on a Short rest. It will also buff Mantle of Inspiration. If you think you’ll need to use Mantle of Inspiration more feel free to take another level in Bard earlier than suggested in this build.
LEVEL 8 - WARLOCK 4
And another ASI! Bump Charisma again for a maxed out spellcasting modifier!
LEVEL 9 - WARLOCK 5
At this level you get another Invocation as well as 3rd level spells. There are quite a few good invocations to pick from but as a squishy support you’re going to want Zhonya's - or in this case Tomb of Levistus. While not quite Zhonya's this invocation will give you a phat health buff in exchange for making you completely stationary until the end of your next turn. Pop it if the enemy Assassin ults you and pray that your team saves you.
Now that you got 3rd level spells there are some obvious choices. Counterspell? Fly? Maybe Dispell Magic or Gaseous Form? Honestly if your DM is allowing UA spells Psionic Blast from the psychic UA works great with the Genie patron. Those are my picks for some good level 3 spells - unfortunately the spells from the Genie Patron aren’t that good besides maybe Create Food and Water, which is only really useful for specific adventures.
Oh and you get another cantrip! I’d recommend Prestidigitation to pull more things out of Book.
LEVEL 10 - WARLOCK 6
This is the point that this build really starts to shine through. Is it bad that this build needs to get to level 10 before it really starts working? ...Eh...?
Anyways you get Elemental Resistance at this level which lets you give your You and Me (tether) target resistance to one of four elements. You can only choose one resistance per long rest so try to pick the damage type you think you’ll run into a lot. Pro tip: Fire damage is really common. Ignite is a powerful Summoner Spell.
LEVEL 11 - WARLOCK 7
At this level you get access to Level 7 invocations which are all... ehhhh? There are some cool ones here but none of them are really great for Yuumi so instead we’re going to go back a bit and pick up Exhaustion. ...The Summoner Spell, not the D&D debuff. Mire the Mind lets you cast Slow once per long rest: slow is a really powerful spell that you can pop on the ADC so your team can wail on them. Just make sure you don’t lose concentration.
You also get access to 4th level spells and while this is technically a spell Lulu has: Polymorph! Turn your allies into T-Rexes, turn your enemies into Fish (don’t try to eat the fish or they’ll turn back), and most importantly you can now become an actual cat! Truthfully though there are several great 4th level spells too and I recommend you look at all of them.
LEVEL 12 - WARLOCK 8
Ability Score Improvement but you should have max spellcasting by now which is the only thing that matters so... how about some Feats? I’m not going to choose any one particular Feat and instead focus on some of the better ones for you to take.
Alert - Along with Jack of All Trades this will almost always guarantee that you’re the first to go in initiative, meaning that you can tether to someone and start applying buffs.
Inspiring Leader - Lets you use Bop and Block early and give all your allies a nice health buffer to start the day.
Observant - With your Charisma and your proficiency buffing your Perception score this should guarantee that you don’t miss anything with those feline eyes of yours. Be sure to ping incoming ganks!
Resilient (CON) - You don’t really need the other effects of War Caster in this build and Resilient is just more useful overall.
Spell Sniper - Read this spell over and ask “does this sound useful?” If yes then take it, because you’re in a game with a DM who actually likes using cover mechanics.
Tough - Yuumi isn’t tough; that doesn’t mean you can’t be.
Lucky - When in doubt break out the OP bullshit perk.
You also get another spell: Dimension Door lets you recall back to base or somewhere similar.
LEVEL 13 - WARLOCK 9
At Warlock 9 you get access to another invocation, including your 9th level invocations and... oh oh there it is boys! Ascendant Step! Now you can be a proper hovering kitty cat! (Note if you took Fly at earlier levels it might be a good idea to drop it. Or not: you can still buff your allies!)
You also gain access to 5th level spells and here’s where it gets fun: Bigby’s Hand! Honestly this is just a fun spell but you can also justify most of the effects as being part of Yuumi (and Book)’s magic.
Clenched Fist - A full damage Prowling Projectile against a target.
Forceful Hand - More of a Janna thing but still very useful.
Grasping Hand - Hit your snare with Final Chapter. "I am TOTALLY doing this!"
Interposing Hand - Again more of a Taliyah thing (or perhaps Jarvan) but still very useful!
This would be my immediate pick but other than that for 5th level?
Creation is your other patron-specific spell and it is awesome. A little situational maybe but that’s the nature of Book! Pull out something useful: unfortunately it can’t be fish but still!
Hold Monster is like Hold Person but better. It’s a big spell slot though so be wary.
Synaptic Static is like a combination of Leona and Alistar, which is to say it’s a big nuke from the sky that makes all your enemies do less damage.
Contact Other Plane is not my first pick for a number of reasons but if you don’t know what to pick being able to ask Book for directions can be helpful. And it comes back on a short rest too! :) Just make sure Book doesn’t break your mind. (Maybe invest in the Resilient feat for Intelligence if you plan to use this spell.)
Tumblr media
(Artwork by sakkiye on DeviantArt)
LEVEL 14 - WARLOCK 10
And now we’ve reached the capstone of our Warlock levels and we get two very powerful abilities. Firstly there’s Protective Wish which lets you use your reaction to swap places between you and your tethered target if either of you get hit. Tank hits for your allies... or alternatively don’t do that and have them shield you from baddies trying to spray you! Just make sure that you aren’t teleporting into a more dangerous location and as a word of advice: don’t throw your allies into danger without their consent.
The other ability you get is Genie’s Entertainment which is far more useful. As an action you can make Book pull a target within 90 feet to a harmless dimension where they’ll be stuck for up to a minute. They can make a Charisma saving throw every turn until they either succeed or a minute passes before they’re ejected where they just were or in the closest available space. This is effectively a one-time use of the Banishment spell (which you can take as a Warlock) but it doesn’t require Concentration which means you can put your focus on other useful buffs for your team.
You also get another cantrip so invest in Mage Hand so Book can pick up things you can’t reach with those paws of yours.
LEVEL 15 - BARD 5
And now we’re bouncing back to Bard and finally getting Font of Inspiration. Honestly if you need more use out of Mantle of Inspiration then feel free to get this level earlier, but you already have plenty of short rest value with your Warlock spell slots.
And speaking of spells: 3rd level Bard spells, anyone? I’d argue that Sending would be quite in-flavor, and Hypnotic Pattern would make for a strong utility, even if you don’t have an AoE stun. Honestly I’m going to skip the spell talk and only cover the last few levels of Bard for completion’s sake.
LEVEL 16 - BARD 6
You now get Countercharm which is poo poo garbage and will make you want to die. But to be fair popping cleanse would help your ADC. (But why are you bringing Cleanse and not Exhaust?)
You also get Mantle of Majesty which will let you play the backseat gamer role you’ve always dreamed of being. As a bonus action you can start to command (the spell) anyone you please to do as you say. Approach, Drop, Flee, Halt... awn there’s not Pet command!
LEVEL 17 - BARD 7
At 7th level you get... nothing! :D Okay you get 4th level spells to be fair but I’m far too lazy to talk about spells anymore.
LEVEL 18 - BARD 8
ASI. Check my suggestions for Feats to take from Warlock 8.
LEVEL 19 - BARD 9
Your Song of Rest increases to a d8 now which honestly probably doesn’t help you much at this point. You do get 5th level spells now though, which you can cast through your Warlock slots.
LEVEL 20 - BARD 10
And for our capstone we finally get Magical Secrets! There’s one specific spell we want: Haste. It’s super zoomies! Other than that you can buy Redemption with Aura of Vitality (which kinda works more like Fiora’s ult but w/e) or maybe an Ardent Censor of sorts with Spirit Guardians? You can grab Mikael's Crucible with Warding Bond, or perhaps contract some help from Zillian and grab Death Ward! There are literally dozens of spells to choose from and I recommend searching online if you don’t know what to take.
Your Bardic Inspiration also increases which means more Mantle of Inspiration health, and you get 2 more skills to give Expertise! Honestly at level 20 it’s a little too late to really choose between Expertise but know that any skill you have Expertise in will have a +12 modifier! You’re essentially guaranteed to succeed at any check with a skill you have Expertise on at this level unless your DM is Twisted Fate and is using Loaded Dice on you.
FINAL BUILD
PROS
Cover to Cover - You’ve got a comedic amount of utility between ten cantrips and the ability to cast any ritual spell you can get your paws on. Along with Jack of All Trades and Expertise covering any skills you may need you’ll never be without a cat trick.
You and me, we got this! - Between Bardic Inspiration, Song of Rest, Elemental Resistance, Protective Wish, and a decent array of buff spells (tbh I kinda wish I took more :P) you can be an incredibly useful asset to your teammates.
You look like unscratched furniture! - One place this build particularly excels is in the crowd control department. Between Enthralling Performance, Mantle of Majesty, Genie’s Entertainment, and a huge array of debuffs you’ll never be lacking in a way to keep your allies safe and the enemies away from you.
CONS
Oh! Sunbeam ahead! - While I tried my best to avoid taking too many Concentration spells I have to admit that a lot of the nicer stuff will demand your attention: Hold Person, Haste, Polymorph, Bigby’s Hand, and Mire the Mind (Slow) all require concentration, so you can only have one up at a time. While you still have options the concentration requirement is heavy.
We’ve got 6 left... or was it 5? - If you’re roleplaying the build properly you’ll have absolutely horrendous health. No additional Constitution modifier combined with a d8 hit die means that you’ll have about a hundred health at level 20, and a Power Word Kill is all it’ll take to end you. Additionally your ability modifiers (with the exception of Charisma) are rather low which means low saving throws and a low AC with only Light armor. Know that you can sometimes sacrifice roleplay for the sake of a more viable build - having good skill checks is great and all but it doesn’t matter if you’re dead.
Full AP? - This build is pure support and I skipped on a lot of the strong damage options that you could’ve taken. In particular this is a max Charisma Eldritch Blast Warlock which doesn’t take Agonizing Blast, a concept most would consider an act of treason. A lot of the invocations I picked more for flavor than actual utility and you’re more than welcome to change Mire the Mind or Tomb of Levistus for something more useful.
But you’re not here to steal all the fame: tag along, help your team, and they’ll help you find your master! Just don’t ask the Triton what they taste like or else they’ll give you the spray bottle.

The only thing we really get out of level 10 Bard is Magical Secrets, but if you’re not interested in getting Haste all you really need for this build is 3 levels in Bard for Mantle of Inspiration (though 5 levels is ideal for Font of Inspiration.)
You can take more levels in Warlock to get Mystic Arcanum, more Warlock slots, and more Eldritch Invocations. You also get Collector’s Call which is a very strong ability that’s sadly held back by its casting requirement. If you’re planning on going heavier on Warlock instead of splitting this build 50 / 50 than get expertise in Persuasion! You’re absolutely going to need it to cast Collector’s Call reliably.
The other important thing to note is that Warlock honestly doesn’t have that many supportive spells in its kit, especially when you’re not playing Divine Soul. Dropping Bard levels means you’ll lose spells like Mass Cure Wounds. You’ll also have far fewer spell slots to cast your lower level Warlock spells, which does mean more 5th level spells but it also means less fun with spells like Misty Step, Dimension Door, and Polymorph.

31, 33, and 51 for Io, Variott, and Astorin
31. What’s their current main conflict?
Io: Find a way to stop Kralkatorrik, like most commanders out there. She’s also dealing with a lot of stress, and her constant internal struggle of if she’s really the right person for this job, and is she really mature enough and capable enough to be trusted.
Variott: She’s battling with her job, her crush on Laighe who’s technically her boss, and her desire to help everyone as well as she can.
Astorin: In main canon, he’s currently just a retired charr keeping an eye on Zojja and Rytlock, and trying to get a boyfriend. All simple and easy. Au where Taomesin is commander is far more interesting. There, he works desk and does literally any and all paperwork for Tao. With Rhosill, who he’s struggling to come to terms with his feelngs for, gone for who knows how long (a while), the onus of keeping Tao alive now falls to him. Astorin walks with a severe limp, and has been convinced along with the rest of the Pact that he’s useless since he can no longer do field work. Despite that, he’s currently one of the highest ranked people in the Pact, and is overworked and very stressed. He cannot keep up with Tao to keep them safe and mentally steady.
33. How have they changed over time?
Io: As a person, she’s matured a lot over her life, and more recently has really stepped up and fulfilled the role of commander incredibly well. As a character, she hasn’t been around too long, but she started as a self insert and is very much not that at all now. She was quick to become her own character, separate from me, and went on to become my canon commander.
Variott: Variott is one of my oldest gw2 characters, and she has changed so so much. What has not changed is the fact that she’s nonbinary, though she went from genderfluid to bigender. She used to be a much more typical asura, before I started playing through the story on her, realized I didn’t like how asuran society could be, and decided to play that up in her character. As her own person, she’s grown to really love herself and the things she can do, even if they aren’t typical asuran skills.
Astorin: As a character, he’s gotten a bit older, but not much. As a person, the biggest change he went to was becoming disabled during HoT and having to change his life style and fighting style to handle that. And he has, and he is very happy, and his life is going well, though he does wish he had someone to share it with.
51. What were some inspirations for your character (people, movies, games)?
Io: Iovara is based around a lot of hobbies I wish I had but don’t. She’s also based around the idea of a very young commander, but one that isn’t a sylvari. She’s based a lot on my personal issues and struggles, and she somehow took on a life of her own from there.
Variott: The mom friend of every dnd party who has the map and keeps an eye on it, and always has snacks, and knows how to comfort you when you’re down. But pocket sized. Someone who has skills that aren’t valued by the society they’re raised in who finds their place somewhere else.
Astorin: Struggles with health failing, and not being able to do the same things you used to be able to, or wanted to because of it. That’s also something present in Io. Growing older and being satisfied with the life you’ve lived up until then.

The Stone King, in his human form; I draw a lot of mountains, so I thought this one should look a little different.
Tale 21: What The Wagon Was For (chapter 2 - Sunday Paper 2/7 ) part 6. Stories of wizards
mild violance
Life is hard without magic. Mundane life that is. People are common, everything is drab, and reliant on money or technology. Everyday, many people want a more adventurous and whimsical life. Full of colour, passion and awe. The rest of the people don’t mind feeding goats, fixing the wi-fi, planting flowers, or answering the phone. Because everyone is different; and what may give one-person satisfaction in their life, is the worst possible outcome for another. The joy of living in a world with magic, is that happily ever afters are real; it’s simply a matter of figuring out what that is for you.
Two years ago, in the mourning, Morgan biked to school, having only consumed toast. When he arrived, there was an announcement telling students to avoid the language wing, due to goblins in the wall by the girl’s washroom. Locker renovations had made a warm dark hole in the wall. A wizard would arrive in the afternoon, to clear these fey out of the school. Morgan, distracted by the intercom, was shoved into a locker by the regular bullies. Children his age could be mean. Morgan no longer remembers what about his appearance, or personality, they tormented him for. He just felt lucky he could use the bruises they gave him, to lie about the ones his father gave him. If it is not apparent, Morgan was one of those people who wanted a more whimsical life; it would be better then being alone.
The class Morgan had before lunch, was gym; He feinted. Just like his father, Morgan was prone to swooning in sudden bouts of syncope. Anything from emotional distress to low blood sugar could make him wake up on the nurses caught. The nurse was normally not there. Today she was however, and forced Morgan to drink some processed orange juice, asked about the bruises, and the cuts on his wrists. Morgan shrugged and left, leaving her wondering if she should file something. Outside the office was a vending machine; Morgan put in some silver, and put in the code for all-dressed crisps. He watched as the corkscrew mechanism slowly wound, pushing the bag towards the dark pit of the vending shoot. He could relate.
In third period, the math teacher gave everyone homework time. Half-way through, Morgan finished his assignments, and rose his hand for the teacher let him leave early to use the washroom. Morgan went to the language wing, and directly to the crevice with the lilac butterfly goblins. He opened the bag of crisps, and evenly distributed them to the stone children.
“You should leave. A wizard will be here in ten minutes, to remove you. Common folk kill fey they think or scary. Say hello to your father for me.” Morgan said in Elden Anglian, standing up. The goblins squeaked in agreeance, and left. The bell rang. Morgan walked to his next class as the halls filled. A different group of peers shoved him, face first, into a door; Laughing at him for feinting. The teacher sent him back to the nurse’s office, as he had a bloody nose. His bullies snickered in the back, causing the teacher to leer. Morgan had already left.
The Nurse called Morgan’s mother, who wasn’t home for another hour. She was landscaping for a perfectionist client again. The nurse handed the phone to Morgan.
“Sweety, I know you don’t like to eat, but finish your lunch and bike home. I picked up flour and butter yesterday, so you can bake if your homework is done. See you soon!” Icthya said. She was possibly the sweetest lady in the land.
“Ok.” Morgan said in a sad and quiet voice. He handed the phone back to the nurse, gathered his things and went home. Once home, Morgan baked a batch of two dozen thumbprint cookies, and then lay in his bed. He wanted to paint, but looking at the ceiling was easier.
Morgan’s parent would be home in thirty minutes. He stopped breathing. If they found out about the goblins at school, and suspected he went near them, his mother would burst into tears at the thought of him being close to ‘potentially deadly’ magic. Then his father would beat him, in a desperate attempt to deter him for going near anything mystical. It hadn’t even been twenty-four hours since the last percussion maintenance. At the end of Morgan’s bed, was a card table with an open ancient ledger. The used book retailers in The Capitol, would give him the old books because no one wanted them. They were old, in ancient writing no one could read, and were taking up space. In reality the shop keepers loved how happy Morgan looked when he received a dishevelled book no one wanted. The books were journals of long dead mages. Morgan wanted a whimsical and adventurous life, like the ones he read in those books. These journals helped him escape once he audited Understanding Old Anglian, from the local university. Morgan wanted to be a librarian; the magic history kind. But settled to be the regular kind, to comfort his parents and avoid abuse. He couldn’t stand his mother crying. Morgan wondered what his grandpa was like; If he hadn’t died in a fey hording incident, would Morgan and grandpa bond in the fey garden in grandma’s backyard? Would Morgan be in a magic academy to become a seer.
The Journal by Morgan’s feet, opened to a table of fours diagram, that made a temporary gate to the shadow veil if written with chalk, and bee’s wax candles were lit at each of the ten runes of the beast kingdoms. Morgan went into the front closet, grabbed the sidewalk chalk, and then the bee tea lights. His mother Ichtya liked bees. Morgan checked his watch; He had twenty-two minutes before his parents came home. He didn’t expect the spell to actually work.
Morgan found himself in a grayscale mountain side. At his feet, was a candle lamp, that flickered pale blue; to go back home. This must be the Shadow Veil, Morgan thought. No one was around, and it was perfectly quiet. He didn’t feel heat from the sun, nor the cold of wind. Morgan took a deep breath. Morgan noticed he still had a half bag of crisps in his trench pocket. He searched himself. Morgan was uncomfortable; He wasn’t used to being perfectly calm. It felt good. Addictively so. Morgan began to walk along the ridge, to the east. He noticed colours; stone fey. Quartz trolls, neon goblins, blue dwarves, and a glimmering silver bow and arrow set with amethysts. He recognized them from one of his journals; The unbreakable sword and bow, gifted to the royal house of Cynedom. His house. Morgan contemplated the fact he was the last in line to the house that once ruled the Grand West, when it was called Anglia. Along with his father, who still worked the heirloom ranch, which was now a tourist spot. Then Morgan asked a dwarf where he was. It shrugged and said: Home.
Morgan was now smiling, as he skipped along the rocky terrain that gave way to a forest edge. There was a flat stone platform to his right, engraved with the gate diagram but missing the stone kingdom rune. If it was open to a magic forest back in the Day Veil, it would be glowing; according to what Morgan had read. To his left, Morgan saw a stone chess table, with an unfinished game of chess on it. He examined the game, and moved the white knight. The ground began to rumbled and shake, causing Morgan to crouch and peer over the chess table. The pieces remained in their place. Then, a man of stone in traditional Grand East clothing, walked forward from the slope, and moved the black bishop to take the knight. He had a soft smile on his smooth marble face.
“My wife didn’t want to finish the game. Io can be a quitter when she is tiered. Want to play?” He said. Morgan smiled, and made a move. After two terns, he gave the living statue the rest of the bag of crisps. He ate them with enthusiasm.
“I had some children come home from Anglia today, telling me a mage boy named Morgan gave them these. They are wonderful! This is why I send my children to the Day Veil; Humans are so creative, and make things as wondrous as me and my siblings.” He chimed. Morgan moved his pawn into checkmate. It dawned on him that he might have won a game of chess against the literal Stone King, who was one of the ten sources of all magic in the world.
“Oh look! You won! Good job! You wouldn’t be that nice Morgan Cynedom boy by any chance?” the Stone King asked. “Can’t think of any reason why a human would visit my kingdom.” He explained further. Morgan nodded. He was stunned; He couldn’t remember the last time someone said ‘good job.’
“It was nice to play with someone; I don’t have friends. I’m glad your children are ok; My school almost sent a wizard to take care of them…” Morgan said.
“You’re not scared of me? And you enjoyed playing a game, and giving me and my children potatoes? Why I haven’t seen a mage in my kingdom for centuries; And the one that shows up, is sweeter then roasted parsnips.” The Stone King smiled. Morgan smiled back. He was having fun.
“Here, take this.” The Stone King said, handing Morgan a palm sized smooth stone, with the rune for stan on it.
“Oh, thanks.” Morgan giggled. He had no idea why the Stone King had just given him a rock, but it made him happy to get a gift. “I have to come back and see you again!” Morgan smiled.
“Can’t wait!” The Stone King said. Behind him, a woman of crystal looked at them with curiosity. Morgan waved good bye at both of them. He intended to go home, but instead, his feet carried him further east. This place was far better then home; He felt safe.

There are loads of gadgets that can make your life easier, whether you expect spending a great deal of time in the kitchen or in the backyard this summer. But if you're planning on venturing away from home and getting a camping trip or two under your belt, you will find even more great gadgets -- ones that could enable you to pack light, carry the essentials, and stay connected no matter how far into the wilderness you venture. Keep reading to check out 16 parts of camping equipment that we would not leave behind.
BioLite CampStove The BioLite CampStove generates electricity for charging LED lights, smartphones, and other apparatus by burning wood. The stove can cook foods and boil water in minutes, and can power most USB-chargeable devices (such as smartphones). For gasoline, all you need are sticks, twigs, pinecones, or other biomass, meaning that you won't have to purchase and carry a gas canister. Moreover, you can cook over the fire without smoke, which means less harm to the environment and no stinging eyes. Perhaps best of all is how the cooker nests inside itself to save space in your pack.
DeLorme inReach SE The DeLorme inReach SE is a satellite communicator that permits you to send and receive text messages through the Iridium satellite network, which boasts 100% global coverage. You may even turn on monitoring to see or discuss your GPS coordinates, and you can also post to social media. In the event of an emergency, it is possible to activate an SOS, get delivery confirmation, and also have a text conversation with the search-and-rescue tracking center until help arrives. The unit is powered by a lithium ion battery which lasts approximately 100 hours in continuous operation when set to 10-minute tracking periods, while prolonged battery life is possible with the extended tracking mode.
Genesis Stove The Genesis Stove is the best way to cook a wonderful meal at the middle of the forests. The cooker is a compact propane cooking system with two burners and a foldable design. It includes a"Jetboil" valve for innovative simmer control, but could still boil a liter of water in only three minutes. The Genesis cooker is also available as part of a Base Camp System, which packs in a nonstick skillet and a 5-liter pot, all in a nesting system that's easy to package but can still cook plenty of food.

To utilize the GRAYL, you will simply press down the filter (just like a French press) to eliminate contaminants such as viruses, bacteria, protozoa, particulates, chemicals, and heavy metals.
Heimplanet Cave If you're trying to find a tent that's simple to set up in your next campsite, consider the Cave from Heimplanet. Yesterday my brother gave me this 3rd Gen iPod Touch he was no longer using. It's SO TINY! OMG seriously, I had to compare it to my old iPod Touch 5th Gen and old iPhone to make sure it wasn't like a wierd freak sized version. They were literally this side once. It just seems so, odd. Even my 5th gen which is the longer screen design seems "bigger". This thing is old, slow, stuck on iOS 5, can't download apps or anything because it's not supported, but I can use Waltr to put music on it and it's got 64GB of space. Doesnt support Apple Music, so I'll probably just go through all of my ripped CDs and fill it as full as possible and plug into the car. I have a thumb drive in there already but it ran out of room and the iOS -> Car interface is much better. I'm still just kind of befuddled by it's size. Amazing how tech has changed! I remember making fun of the larger iPhones and the larger Android phones, now I use one so I can read the damn screen. I think if they made something bigger, I'd probably use it. Except for the fact that the size of my phone + pocket = bent across the phone at a diagonal. :D Yeah, FWP right? Anyway, old blast from the past. Wondering if I still have one of my old Jailbreak kits for this, I could hack it and put anything on it. Technically i don't need to, Waltr2 should let me put Music, TV and Movies on it w no problem drag and drop. Tech memories. Ahhh.

Motorized video stabilizers that smooth out shaky shots
For steadier shots. (Marvin Meyer via Unsplash/)
When Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa ran up the 72 steps outside Philadelphia’s Museum of Art, the movie’s cinematographer needed a way to follow him without the footage bouncing around like one of Rocky’s opponents. He turned to a device called a Steadicam, which uses weights and counterbalances to help keep the camera steady and the shot ultra-smooth when the operator is moving. Unfortunately, Steadicam rigs are professional equipment with prices to match; what’s more, they can take months of training to fully master. Enter the three-axis, motorized gimbal stabilizer. Similar to a Steadicam, this modern marvel uses motors to control, on a micro-level, the tilt, pan, and roll of an attached camera so that it counters and negates every shake, bounce, and rattle of your movement.
They’re fairly simple to set up, and learning to shoot with them only takes a bit of practice. They work with a range of cameras, from the ones used by professionals to common DSLRs to the smartphone in your pocket. Many provide control over internal functions and setting through iOS and Android app integration. Some even include built-in cameras and are tiny enough to slip into a pocket. Movies are about moving pictures, and motorized stabilizers help to open this fundamental tool of creativity to everyone.
When you need to get any shot, anywhere. (Amazon/)
The Ronin-M is a three-axis motorized stabilizer designed for flexibility. It supports an 8-pound professional camera, and it can be used in underslung mode, with the camera hanging under its handles; overslung mode to get above eye-level; or in briefcase mode, which is perfect for narrow spaces. Multiple mounting points allow camera operators to use it hand-held or attached to larger rigs like cranes. Have a shot with difficult camera moves? With the remote control, a second operator can control the camera’s movement while you’re running around on set. Bluetooth control connects the Ronin-M to the DJI Assistant app, providing quick access to tools for tuning the gimbal’s settings and monitoring battery status, balance, and other important information. A magnesium frame keeps the stabilizer lightweight but rugged for use on-set or in the field.
For indie filmmakers with some money to spend. (Amazon/)
Designed for use with DSLRs and similarly sized cameras, but capable of carrying loads up to approximately nine pounds, this three-axis stabilizer provides indie filmmakers and event videographers with a powerful, versatile, and ergonomic tool. Whether you’re running up some stairs or riding in a car or following the married couple on the dance floor, the Crane 3 helps to keep shots smooth, while also providing full control over the camera’s pan, tilt, and roll. Onboard controls and an intuitive OLED screen make setting parameters quick and easy. With a full battery charge, the stabilizer has a runtime of more than seven hours so you can get in a full day shooting.
For phone shooters with Oscar aspirations. (Amazon/)
The best camera is the one you’ve got on you, and for most people that means the phone in their pocket. Designed to hold a variety of different smartphones, the 17.5-ounce, foldable MOZA Mini-S fits easily into a small bag so you’re always ready to get buttery-smooth shots. The stabilizer features AI recognition technology that can automatically detect multiple subjects for fast-tracking. Get creative using the MOZA Genie app for iOS and Android, which provides access to shooting modes like timelapse, slow-motion, and sports. Control your camera’s zoom and focus with onboard buttons, and a 1/4-thread accessory mounting point is perfect for lights or a small tripod.
When you want an all-in-one solution in your pocket. (Amazon /)
The DJI Osmo Pocket combines a three-axis mechanical stabilizer with an attached camera that features a 1/2.3-inch sensor that shoots 4K at 60 frames per second. It literally fits into most pockets, weighing approximately four ounces, and its battery provides more than two hours of shooting time—so there’s no excuse to miss the shot. A pro-mode is accessible via your iOS or Android phone which allows you to adjust exposure, ISO, and shutter speed. The unit includes a postage-stamp-size monitor in its handle, but for more precise shooting, attach your phone and use it as a viewfinder. Footage can then be sent to your phone and uploaded to the web over WIFI or your data plan.
