Fuel Crisis in Gaza: No New Supplies Since War's Start, Warns US Envoy

Gaza - Since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict in early October, there hasn't been any new fuel delivered to Gaza, according to US Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Issues, David Satterfield, who made the statement on Saturday. Fuel that was stored in depots accessible to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Gaza before October 7 has been utilized by UNRWA for various purposes. This includes the transportation of aid via trucks from the Rafah terminal to distribution points, the operation of desalination plants, and the supply of fuel to hospitals in the southern Gaza region. Five people were hurt on Monday as a barrage of rockets was fired by terrorists in the Gaza Strip toward towns in southern and central Israel. According to reports, two of them are in critical condition. According to media sources, one of the rockets burst close to Ben Gurion International Airport, worsening the situation. Numerous explosions occurred as a result of collisions or Iron Dome missile defense system interceptions.

According to the Times of Israel, sirens could be heard in many cities, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Ra'anana, and even Baqa al-Gharbiyye in the far north. This was the first time since Saturday that sirens had been heard in many of these areas. The barrages came a day after Israel officially proclaimed a state of war as the dead toll from the devastating Hamas attack surpassed 700 and was anticipated to increase much further, with the fate of more than 100 persons who had been kidnapped and taken to the Gaza Strip still unknown, according to the Times of Israel.
