"You're standing on the construction plans, son."
It's sort of become my headcanon that the Wind-up Amalj'aa minion is an actual Amalj'aa hatchling entrusted into Aozhan's care by the Brotherhood of Ash, to become the counterpart to Loonh Gah. While she grew up living like an Amalj'aa, he'll grow up experiencing the Eorzean cultures firsthand, and potentially become an ambassador between them and the beast tribes. So instead of being confined to Southern Thanalan, he goes wherever Aozhan goes, and right now he seems very excited to help with the construction of the Dezul Qualan :)

Been playing Heliana's Guide to Monster Hunting with friends, and just *had* to draw the team's gobboc artificer working on their next armor. (I also couldn't resist going off-model for vestigial wing feathers)

[ID: four screenshots from final fantasy 14 of OP's au ra, alqadan-vathuli.
she is a xaela with long, bleach-blonde hair with dark red streaks, which is tied back in a high ponytail with messy fringe framing her face; ashen light-tan skin; piercing white eyes with bright red limbal rings; and she has dark red dust littered on her face.
the first screenshot is a close-up of the end of a spear pointing at her face while she glares defiantly. the second is of her looking at something ahead of her out of the corner of her eyes, head turned to the side. the third is of her standing beside kan-e-senna at the greenbliss festival, looking over at her without turning her body, her face hidden by a mask. the fourth is of her mid-nod, looking thoughtful. she is wearing different, varying types of leather, scaled, and chainmail armor in the screenshots. end ID.]

Had a long nap and just woke up from one of the most confusing dreams I've had in months lol.
I was some general detective person solving some very general muder thing and somehow figured out half way that the two teen girls involved were dating eachother - girl #1 had a room with a tree right next to a window and after some prodding I managed to get the girl #2 to admit she'd often sneak in through that to meet her girlfriend in her room.
You'd assume this had something to do with the murder but apparently detective me didn't, because I just decided to bring them home to meet my lesbian daughters. Because "it would be good to meet kids your age :)" or something?
And for some reason my adopted lesbian daughters were an ixali (yes those ixalis) and a kid that looked exactly like Gaia (can't remember her name sadly).

Ishgard & The Coerthas Highlands (1/3)
The Nail, Coerthas Central Highlands
As is described in the Enchiridion, to ensure the realm of man did not drift apart from the firmament, Halone struck the Nail through both, ever binding the two. And though assailed on all sides by great metal shards fallen from the lesser moon Dalamud's crust, the ancient peak remained standing, a testament to the land's life force.
The Observatorium, Coerthas Central Highlands
Three hundred years ago, Ishgardian astrologian Adaunel the Younger convinced the Holy See that he could predict the comings and goings of the Dravanian Horde by studying the movements of the heavens, and thus secured funding for the construction of the First Dicasterial Observatorium of Aetherial and Astrological Phenomena and its grand astroscope.
The Frozen Fang, Coerthas Central Highlands
In years past, the hot alpine summers would have seen this fallen Dravanian outflyer blown with maggots and reduced to bones in a matter of days. Now, in the endless winter wrought by the Calamity, the carcass rests in the permafrost under a thin blanket of snow, perfectly preserved since the day he was pierced through the heart by a ballista.
The Holy See of Ishgard, View from Coerthas Central Highlands
For the past thousand years, Ishgard has waged a bloody war with the dragons of Dravania. To fend off the enemy horde, a complex web of defenses, magical and corporeal, have been added piecemeal to the city proper's outer walls, transforming her into an impenetrable bastion, while at the same time, isolating her and her people from the outside world.
Boulder Downs, Coerthas Central Highlands
Before the Calamity, Boulder Downs was a vast sloped lea littered with moraine deposited by realm-swallowing glaciers long receded. The rain of debris that accompanied the fall of Dalamud, however, transformed the landscape into a frozen wasteland pocked with gaping impact craters and peculiar dark matter formations.
The Fury's Gaze, Coerthas Central Highlands
A place holy to all Ishgardians, it is believed that when a man stands within this hidden grotto, the Fury Herself will reach deep into the darkest recesses of his soul and lay out his sins before him, allowing the man to repent those failings. The Monument Tower nearby was built to protect this hallowed ground from the taint of dragons and heretics.
Snowcloak, Coerthas Central Highlands
The bitter cold which swept over the Coerthas highlands following the Calamity did not only blanket the region in snow and ice, but transformed the water of Twinpools and the Swiftrun into a mountainous flow of ice—a flow which has slowly crept through western Coerthas highlands and now has completely engulfed Gargoyle Crossing, preventing passage.
Camp Dragonhead, Coerthas Central Highlands
Its name taken from a rocky outcropping said to be the head of a Dravanian king turned to stone by the almighty hand of Halone, this outpost acts as the Coerthas central highlands' southernmost line of defense for the Holy See, tasked with fending off Ixali raids from Natalan, incursions by heretic factions, and the occasional yeti scare.
The Steel Vigil, Coerthas Central Highlands
One of four citadel watchtowers built along the Sea of Clouds, the Steel Vigil warned the Holy See of aerial attacks for centuries before being razed and gutted by the Dravanian Horde and their vile commander, Svara. Now, only the outer walls remain, leaving a bitter reminder of the dragons' destructive power.

The Girl From Gridania - Part 4
Part 4 of Iris’s origin story, where she meets up with someone she rather not
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Word Count: 1202
Gritrot Lienois was a man that seemed to prim and proper. His light brown hair was always slicked back, without a strand out of place. His eyes was crisp green color that could pierce through your soul is he stared at you long enough. He always stood with his shoulders back and his back straight making him look taller than your average Elezen. It suited him well as a lieutenant in the God Quiver.
The man has ambitions beyond those that work for the God Quiver. That Iris knew and was very much the victim of it. He spoked with honey words if it would get him what he wanted. He was the kind of man that made Iris thank the twelve that Gridania followed the laws made by the Elementals. If they were in Ul’dah, she have a feeling that he would bribe a few merchants or be willing to commit some murders to get ahead.
Iris disliked that the patrolling God Quiver troop found her near the Guardian Tree. Less so that it was his group that found her. Now she was stuck in a room with a man that she down right detested.
“Now, Ms. Opranta, why were you at the Guardian Tree?” He sweetly asked her again. She could sense that he was getting aggravated as he asked her this question the umpteenth time.
“And as I’ve said, there was a man in a black cloak teleported me there. I did nothing that you seemed set to accuse me of.” Iris said with a sigh of exasperation “As far as to why the elementals are angry, there where Ixali planning to summon Garuda there. You were lucky that me and those adventurers were there to make them flee the place.”
Gritrot wasn’t buying it. “How do you explain the reports from the Padjal that the elementals were going in a frenzy what was going there?”
“I swear it was the Ixali. I barely did anything that would upset them.”
He could only sigh “You were the only one there so it must have been you that was causing it. You know what will happen to you if you did anger the elementals.”
Iris was taking aback a bit. She knew that they wouldn’t take too kindly for bothering them. And if they weren’t too pleased neither were the brass tacks for those who make sure that the Gridanian lifestyle were protect. Anyone found doing something they disliked the best case would to be outcasted. However, the elementals would think this crime would deserve a more severe punishment. For her, she feared that she might be staring at another death. Not only her own but her family’s death as well.
“I’ll ask one more time you useless girl, why were you at the Guardian Tree?” Gritrot spat out once again, this with more venom in his words.
“Useless? You are seriously call me useless?” She stood up from her chair that she was sitting, out of anger. “Just because “dating me” didn’t get you the results you were looking for doesn’t make me useless. It doesn’t make me useless that it backfired on you after I found you with another woman after my condition started to appear five years ago. Or that my brother damn well saw what you wanted from him once he figured out why you wanted date me in the first place.”
Gritrot couldn’t contain himself after those words were said. He wanted to strike her right then and there. He balled up his fist to hold back his anger. A knock wrapped on the door. He calmed himself down and composed himself to make himself looked his normal self. “Enter.” He called out to the door while keeping his eye on Iris.
The door open, and came in Ephault, a current captain of the God Quiver Lions, Gritrot’s superior, and least of all Iris’ brother. As her walked into the room Gritrot saluted his superior. “Lieutenant Lienois, stand down, I’ll take it from here.” Ephault spoke with authority as he gave this command to his lieutenant.
“But sir, she was found by the tree where the elementals….”
“Are you choosing to ignore an order, lieutenant?” Gritrot shook his head and headed out of the room.
“Of course your brother comes to save you from this situation.” He muttered to himself before closing the door.
“Ephault, I’m sorry. I can explain” Iris was panicking that he disliked that his sister was not only out so late at night when he asked her to go home to rest. Let alone found her near the Guardian Tree when the Ixali were.
“Iris, don’t worry about it. Those adventurers you were hunting down told us what happened. The upper brass doesn’t think that you did anything that the elementals would fault you for. And Plus there is someone that wishes to speak with you.” The door opened again. This time two people came through, Bowlord Lewin and Kan-e-Senna. Iris was confused as to why these two would want a word with her. Her bewilderment was shown on her face as the two walked closer to her.
They stopped and faced Iris. Kan-e-Senna then cleared her throat. “Iris was it? My name is Kan-e-Senna.” Iris nodded at Kan-e’s clam words. She continued on “I’ve heard of your harrowing adventure that happened. Both from man and from elemental. I want you to be the Emissary for the Greenbliss that is going to happen in a few days time.”
Iris was dumbstruck. “Come again? I didn’t do anything that deserves that recognition. I was there rather I wanted to or not.”
Kan-e-Senna shook her head. “That’s not what I’ve heard from Bowlord Lewin. He heard the story from those adventurers that were looking into what was going on with the aether in the shroud. They said that you fended against the Ixali’s attempt to summon Garuda.” Kan-e-Senna got up and gently holds her hand. “Your dedication to the people of Gridania rouses fond memories in me, and I would choose no other for the role.”
Iris could only gaze on to the Elder Seedseer. It would be a great honor for her to serve as an important role in Gridanian society. She thought it over for a moment. Though a bit hesitate she chimed “I’ll do it.”
“Great, the Bowlord will tell you more on what you need to know about the ceremony.” The seedseer pleased that Iris said yes started to head out of the room. “I’ll see you when the day comes. I’ll take my leave for now.”
With the Elder Seedseer out of the room, the Bowlord looked onto Ephualt to signal for him to leave. Taking the cue, he headed out the door. Lewin looked back at Iris. He informed her of what her role is. Simply she needed to wear a mask and stand right next to the Elder Seedseer. She thought it was easy enough and thanked the Bowlord for explaining all that to her. All she had left to do was wait until master Beatin making the mask and do the ceremony. She made her leave and return home to rest from her long day.

Hungry Like The (Dire)Wolf.
Mimble has another new mount, courtesy of his Ixali friends. Despite appearances he is very friendly doggie and Mimble has elected to call him Muffins.
Mimble is hoping to teach him some tricks, such as "Muffins Sit!", "Muffins Roll Over!" and "Muffins Stop Menacing That Wood Wailer And Give Him Back His Boots This Instant I Won't Tell You Again!".
(This was a long rep grind! But I enjoyed the story and I do love Muffins)

Junelezen 7: friends
For someone who is reserved and expects people to judge her for her rather humble origins, etc., Zas has a lot of good friends. But none are as close as her young protege’ Salix (Miqo’te belonging to @cinlat) who she met and adopted when she found him in the Shroud, being overwhelmed by Ixali.
(Zas and Salix when they first met)
Then these two introverts were adopted in turn by an extremely extroverted Lalafell, Koko (belonging to @kunoichi-ume), who wandered up while they were fishing one day and adopted them (to their utter bafflement). Now they both would do anything to rescue her from the trouble that seems to trail after her constantly (not that that would have anything to do with her impulsiveness or enthusiasm lol.) (Story by cinlat about adapting to their boisterous friend)
(shortly after they met Koko, in the FC chamber they shared)
When she met Salix, she had just picked up the bow for the first time herself, having previously fought as a marauder for several years, and he was struggling with his father’s lance. Salix turned out to have a knack for healing with herbs (a really sweet story Cinlat wrote about this discovery) and with Zas’s encouragement, he took up conjury. Healing suited the quiet shy young man much better.
(Later after Salix took up conjury while Zas was dabbling with machinist)
Koko, on the other hand, was trying to conquer thaumaturgy, a choice complicated by the fact she lacked the patience to sit and study books for any length of time. Impulsively, she picked up Salix’s abandoned lance one day when the other two were out (story by @kunoichi-ume), and they found her in the midst of much (unintentional) destruction, having found the weapon that truly suited her. Out of self-defense, they made sure she got proper training, lol.
(Koko’s accidental prank lol)
(screenshots by Cinlat)
The three of them are inseparable. The other two might be happier with a little less excitement than life with Koko brings them (story by cinlat). But they wouldn’t trade life with her for anything
(Salix finding Koko a less hair-raising costume to wear lol)
(screenshots by Cinlat)
