Speaking of “found family” discourse I’ve seen multiple people call the Lost Light a “found family” and I’m like uhhhh I really don’t think it is, and if it is, it’s only in the vaguest sense of “a bunch of them are friends with each other” that could be much better described by actually describing the uniqueness of each of their relationships.

#also i don't think it can be a found family when almost half the ship hated the captains so bad they mutinied #and like both of the captains were pieces of shit (to widely varying degrees) including one who they didn't even choose #and out of all the people on the LL they weren't literally all friends with each other #like ugh i hate the words found family so fucking much lmao #it's one of those things fandom uses to take a complex group of individuals and reduce them to 'haha cute wholesome beans having fun'#squiggposting #also the claim of the LL being a found family is even worse when you realize that the mutineer arc existed #and also was never really resolved besides killing get/away and all the people who sided with him being like 'we didnt know he was eeeevil'#and also the elephant in the room of meg/atron never being addressed like people were just fine with him more or less lmao #JRO put him in that stupid quantum copy at the end as if i could actually believe M was a part of the LL socially at all #ahem sorry for the rant #i hate found families so much lmao it's just so overapplied and boring and not even accurate in fandoms
