#Jenny Wakeman and Ozzie Karate

My Dream from Last Night (9/9/2023)

I dreamt that I was in some big school auditorium that was almost as big as a circus tent (just without the clowns, animals, and other performers). I remember it being a nightly routine kind of thing where I would dress up in a wing suit, jump off the edge, and fly over the audience (or something like that). Long story short, I was able to fly. I even talked to someone about putting a cannon on the roof of the building to launch me into the sky and see how far I can fly.

In another room, I recall seeing the flight training scene from "Chicken Run", followed by this scene from "Toy Story" where Woody uses R.C. to rescue Buzz from Scud. I went to this bathroom that was connected to the other room, which allowed me to hear what was on the other side, until I found another door in the back of the bathroom that took me into these preschool-like rooms that also had bathrooms in them. Thankfully, I snuck by without getting spotted.

Before those two instances, I think I was shopping and I thought I saw Jenny and my OC, but I don't exactly remember.

After watching the deleted musical number, "If I Never Knew You", I honestly felt like that was a perfect song that best sums up my feelings for Jenny and Kitty (but mostly Jenny). And when I thought about if my character should die if I were to ever to do a self-insert fanfiction series rewriting "My Life as a Teenage Robot" (which I doubt I'll ever get around to), I was thinking that my character should sing this to Jenny after dying at the end of "Escape from Cluster Prime" (which will turn 20 next year).

I imagined that after the final battle (you know, the ending where all but Sheldon hug Jenny), everyone would notice Ozzie unconscious and surround him. Jenny would've been able to wake him up and tell him they won, but while Ozzie is happy to see Jenny one last time, he falls unconscious and Jenny, Brad, Tuck, Sheldon, Dr. Wakeman, and everyone else would cry and mourn for his death. And shortly after the funeral where the casket containing Ozzie's body is buried underground, Jenny would suddenly hear Ozzie, and could see him as a spirit (Whether he should appear as a ghost or a dragon, assuming that from Chinese custom that if someone dies, their souls are lifted into the sky to take the form of a dragon that defined the life someone lived). Either way, Ozzie would remind Jenny not to lose hope, and remind her that she can carry on without him as long as she believes in him.

Maybe that could be a good spot for when they sing their love ballad, with Ozzie reminding Jenny of all the times they had together while he was still living. At first, Jenny wouldn't want him to leave, but would later decide that it's the right thing to do, and Jenny would vow to Ozzie that she'll never let Ozzie down. Ozzie would smile after watching Jenny fly off into the sun, and would fade out of existence knowing Jenny will be alright.

For the song itself I'd combine the song and its reprise together to add a dramatic tension between both sides. But don't worry, I'd still want my character to interact with Jenny (as she would still have Ozzie's ring saved either inside of her or on display in the Wakeman residence), but only she would be able to see and hear Ozzie (That can be something you'll have to interpret for yourselves).

Though, if Season 4 of "My Life as a Teenage Robot" ever happens on Paramount+ (I'm still holding onto hope for that), perhaps the final episode of the proposed season, or some other episode can have Ozzie revived some way, with Ozzie and Jenny singing the pop version of "If I Never Knew You" in a more positive light. But before that, Ozzie could mention to Jenny that they have a lot to catch up on (assuming she would've ended up with Brad or Sheldon).

Dexter assembles the greatest minds to fight in this multiversal war. From Lisa Loud as Lisa-luminum (accompanied by Leni as Super Leni) to Professor Utonium through the Powerpuff Girls to Samurai Jack to Nora Wakeman through Jenny (accompanied by my OC, Ozzie Karate) to Twilight Sparkle through the Mane 6, including Starlight Glimmer, and my other OC, Cuddles, whom I have yet to tell you about.

If you want, you can also add other members like day, Danny Phantom (”Danny Phantom”), Dudley and Kitty (”T.U.F.F. Puppy”), and even the titular characters from “DC Super Hero Girls (2019)”. Basically, anyone from whichever shows were created by the same people that got their start on “Dexter’s Laboratory”. The only problem is, I think Dexter might need a bigger laboratory.

Happy 4th of July from the heroes of Nickelodeon who served to protect our country. These include Jenny “XJ9″ Wakeman and Ozzie Karate from “My Life as a Teenage Robot”, Danny Phantom, and Agents Dudley Puppy and Kitty Katswell from “T.U.F.F. Puppy”.

Who’s Ozzie Karate you may be asking? Well, he’s an OC I created 3 weeks after “My Life as a Teenage Robot” first aired on Nickelodeon back in 2003. I’ll talk more about my OC in separate post.

I actually traced Jenny’s hand from “Escape from Cluster Prime” and drew my character’s hand in place of Vega’s (even though it was a little tricky). I also have a transparent base for this coming soon, but it’s restricted to human OCs only.

When Ozzie and Jenny are not fighting crime, they occasionally share each other’s love with each other when no one is noticing. So, here’s some drawings of Ozzie and Jenny holding hands.

And now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for. For the next three posts, here’s how Jenny and Ozzie are like together. As I said before, Ozzie and Jenny never get into an argument, and get along pretty easily. Ozzie usually sticks by Jenny through and through, even if sometimes his involvement with Jenny makes things worse for the citizens of Tremorton.

While fighting crime together, he and Jenny fight alongside each other.

Now for some images of Ozzie in action. By default, Ozzie is able to use his swords and his jetpack. But in order to activate his gadgets, Ozzie must say “Go go gadget” and name the weapon of choice during combat. For two demonstrations, I have Ozzie using his star-launcher and Ozzie’s hand shooting from his the wrist of his arm.

For the very last image you see at the bottom, here’s Ozzie performing a strike to summon a fire-based Chinese Dragon to burn anyone in its path.

Here’s how Ozzie flies whenever he turns on his jetpack. Unlike Jenny who commonly sticks one fist out while flying forwards, Ozzie has his fists back, even though Jenny sometimes flies with her fists back too.

Ozzie Karate (奥兹空手道 - Ào zī kōngshǒudào)

FRANCHISE

Nickelodeon’s “My Life as a Teenage Robot”

BIO

Ozzie was born and raised in China where he learned the ways of Martial Arts, and through destiny was gifted with an ancient ring that would transform him into a half-human half-machine black belt. His heroic acts I assumed would’ve impressed the emperor around the time before Ozzie met Jenny. The emperor even made arrangements for Ozzie to marry her daughter, who was to become empress as soon as her father stepped down from the throne. But before the two could kiss, a terrorist attack happened on that same day as the wedding. And Ozzie was forced to leave China with the remaining survivors to North America in some kind of a giant ship.

The ship boarded at Tremorton City, and Ozzie was depressed. Not only was his home under attack, and likely destroyed, but he was really looking forward to marrying the princess. All that Ozzie could do was start life over now that he still had his ring. Some time after doing his heroic deeds for the folks living in Tremorton by fighting crime, Brad and Tuck would eventually befriend Ozzie. And Ozzie in turn could help train the two brothers one-on-one. Soon, the three meet Jenny “XJ9″ Wakeman for the firs time. With Ozzie seeing Jenny rescue Brad from falling out the window after her arm popped off, Ozzie’s impressed. Soon, Ozzie transforms into Ozzie Karate and he and Jenny fly off into space and they both destroy the asteroids. After saving Tremorton, Jenny is impressed with Ozzie, and Ozzie in turn is just as impressed with Jenny as earlier, hinting that their feelings could be more than just friendship.

Ozzie would also befriend Nora Wakeman, Jenny’s human mother, and the inventor of Jenny. Upon learning a bit of Ozzie’s origins, and how he feels about Jenny, Nora allows Ozzie to be her trainer, and gives him her blessing to be Jenny’s boyfriend. Later, Ozzie and Jenny would befriend Sheldon. Despite Sheldon being jealous of Ozzie getting Jenny, Ozzie would sometimes be selfless enough to let Sheldon date her, but Ozzie will still keep an eye on them for Jenny’s sake.

PERSONALITY

Ozzie can be described as philosophical, honest, wise, caring, and protective for the ones he loves.

Whatever you do, do not give Jenny a hard time or abuse her, or Ozzie will strike as either himself or in his black belt form. Jenny would do the same for Ozzie.

LOVE CONNECTION WITH JENNY

Jenny enjoys fighting alongside Ozzie. Ozzie even helps Jenny learn new moves she didn’t even know she could do. Jenny and Ozzie will usually hold hands as implication of their love status. In fact, not once do Ozzie and Jenny ever get into a fight at all.

Some running gags include Jenny and Ozzie holding hands without noticing until they do, or Jenny and Ozzie about to kiss each other’s lips until something interrupts them or they stop and shy way. Other times, Jenny and Ozzie can be a little clumsy to each other, either bumping into each other’s heads or other things. This is so they can hide their love for each other when they’re in public. This can also imply that they’re shy to admit they love each other.

DEATH

In 2016, I thought about the idea of perhaps Ozzie dying to give Jenny more motivation to work alone. I was thinking that a proper way Ozzie could die would be in “Escape from Cluster Prime”, where Ozzie would sacrifice himself during the final battle. Ozzie would die from the ship’s explosion. As soon as everyone got to hug Jenny, maybe Sheldon or someone else would point out Ozzie’s unconscious body. And in alarm, Jenny would rush to Ozzie to wake him up and tell him they won. However, Ozzie’s eyes slowly close, and Ozzie would be dead. Not only does this break Jenny’s heart and make her cry, it also breaks everyone else’s hearts.

A funeral would be held for Ozzie, and his body would be buried. As soon as everyone sadly leaves, Jenny starts to follow along too, but a voice stops her, and she sees Ozzie’s spiritual form to reassure her that he'll always be there for her. Ozzie and Jenny would sing “If I Never Knew You”, and Jenny gets the encouragement she needed to continue being the hero she's always been, even without Ozzie. Jenny says she won’t let him down, and Ozzie nods while vanishing into the spirit realm.

Despite his death, Ozzie’s ring is still kept at the hands of Jenny, who can still use the ring to summon Ozzie’s spirit form to talk to him about stuff.

INSPIRATION

The inspiration for making this character came from the fact that in real life, I have a huge crush on Jenny, and it clearly shows if you’ve paid attention. It’s kinda like imagining myself with Jenny, and fighting alongside her. Even going as far as telling her my love for her. I based my character off of Inspector Gadget and Buzz Lightyear. Inspector Gadget because the live action movies were guilty pleasures to me, as was the basis for how I would use Ozzie in action. Like Inspector Gadget, Ozzie also says “Go go gadget”. For Buzz Lightyear, I based Ozzie’s personality off of Buzz as he was depicted in “Toy Story 1-2” and “Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins”.

DEVELOPMENT

Originally, the character was suppose to be from Egypt, but after deciding that my character is a Martial Artist, I changed his nationality to Chinese. Thus, the character’s origin began in China, and then later moved to Tremorton City.
