My favorite show of the year is here: Shelton, Linda, Rico and company put up a convention that is made by comics creator for comics aficionados, old and young. You should def plan to go if you haven’t yet. And if you have already, then you know what I am talking about here :)

Location: I’m in Artist Alley, table AA-1309-1310 (see diagram above - click on the image for larger view), along with a bunch of dear, talented pals.

Original Art and Convention Commissions Yes, I will be doing what I call mini-commissions at the show. I can’t do any prior to the show due to deadlines. The commissions will be 9x12 Bristol, single-figure, some background, done with pencils, inks and washes, and will cost $400. (pls inquire if size or content is different from this) I’m also doing busts ($200, inks/washes, on 9x12″ bristol) and sketch covers ($150) Since they require time, I am planning to do only 6 commissions a day. It’s done first-come, first-serve, so just come see me early to get on the list. I will do a new list every day. I take cash or credit card (assuming this iPad gizmo works). You can see above a couple of samples (Batman/Gordon and Joker) of a 9x12 full figure, fully inked mini-commission. I will also have a portfolio with original art you can buy.

Prints: I won’t have a large variety of prints with me. I’ll have limited amount of my giclee prints and my MONDO (and other) screen prints: will have a price list at the show for those (still putting the prints together so not sure what specifically I’m bringing yet as I type this)

Pins, Records, & more For the first time ever, I’m putting my MONDO enamel pins and my WAXWORK  Records on sale. Again, I only get a handful of these items so I will have limited amount on the table for sale, so, ya know, come early if interested in pins and records. I will also have a rare, special item not shown here: just ask me about it at the show ;)

Books: I m bringing copies of BATMAN THE BLACK MIRROR - THE NOIR EDITION which I’m planning to remarque. I’m also having for the first time (and in super limited amount) my new artbook, THE ART OF RIVERDALE, collecting all my covers for Archie Comics. This was done for a show in Italy and I only got a handful of copies. Planning to remarque these too. I will also have limited copies of the now sold out and rare sketchbooks CHIAROSCURO and SCHERMOSCURO

Panels: SUNDAY 12:00 pm Room 209 BEHIND THE COVER:  A LOOK AT THE CREATIVE PROCESS WITH EISNER WINNER COVER ARTIST FRANCESCO FRANCAVILLA.     Join Jimmy Aquino (Comic News Insider podcast) and Eisner winning artist FRANCESCO FRANCAVILLA (The Black Beetle, Afterlife With Archie) for a fun hour of illustration and chat! Francavilla will design a cover based on YOUR suggestions! Have you ever wondered how many of your favorite cover artists come up with their designs? Francavilla will break down that process for you during this entertaining panel!

Signings I will sign books and prints for free and will have a little donation bucket for a charity of my choice. This year I’ll be collecting donations for the following Puerto Rico organizations: Casa Taller - uses art to create community and teach others sustainable practices (rain barrels, urban gardens, community art to heal & educate) Hispanic Federation/UNIDOS - help distribute relief supplies and rebuild communities affected by disaster If you like to donate a few bucks that would be greatly appreciated! I’ll have also to kindly ask to not bring more than 10 books for each signing time. If you have more you are welcome to come back later - but since there are many of you with books to sign I wanna make sure everyone get a fair shot in those 10 minutes windows for signing (see below)

Signing time is the last 10 minutes of each hour (i.e., 10.50 to 11 am, 11.50 to 12pm, etc.) For STOP&CHAT and handshakes, pls feel free to stop anytime, as long I am at the table ;)

T-SHIRTS: I’m partnering with The Fine Print Shoppe friends to have a new Black Beetle tshirt - I’ve designed - live-printed at the show. Go to their booth 1010, 1109 and get your Black Beetle tee :) (pictured above is just an example to show you the BB design - not sure about what color or style the tee will be available in)
