Seattle's Unification Church owned mansion sold – and will be demolished
Tumblr media
6601 Northeast Windermere Road, Seattle, WA 98105
The original Rolland Denny estate home in Seattle’s exclusive Windermere neighborhood has been sold. On the market since 2022, Loch Kelden was recently sold to developers for what real-estate sites say is $5.999.900.00, “pending feasibility.”
Preservationists could not nominate it as a city landmark because the state Supreme Court has exempted religious entities from landmark designation unless such owners support or seek it. Thus, demolition appears imminent.
This gem of Seattle history is nestled behind a curtain of trees: it's the 7,700-square-foot mansion that Rolland Denny, the first son of Seattle pioneer Arthur Denny, built in 1907.
Shortly after moving in, in 1908, Denny named his new domain "Lochkelden" — loch, meaning "lake" in Scottish; "Kel" for his wife, Alice Kellogg; and "Den" for Denny. Today, it's the only residence left in Seattle where one of the original pioneers lived.
Rolland Denny was an infant when Arthur Denny and the original pioneers arrived on Alki Beach in 1851. The Duwamish Tribe helped keep him alive by teaching his mother to feed him clam broth through the winter.
Like any 100-year-old institution worth its salt, the old Windermere mansion, as it's called, is not without intrigue.
In 1974, the Unification Church, a nontraditional church established by Sun Myung Moon in Korea in the 1940s, bought the property and its remaining 1.7 acres for $175,000.
Tumblr media
In 1977, a group of Windermere neighbors, "Save Our Neighborhood," brought a lawsuit against the new owners, questioning their right to use the residential property for religious and commercial ventures. The lawsuit, spurred partly by a popular condemnation of the church's mass marriages and recruitment techniques, was dropped in 1982.
A community feature is access to the waterfront/private beach.
While some neighbors remain uncomfortable with the Unification Church's hold on the property, others applaud the church's efforts to refurbish the house, which suffers from the inevitable internal decay of 100-year-old plumbing and wiring.
"There's so much to fix. I have so many projects. And it's an absolute bottomless pit for money," said Scott Dolfay twenty years ago. He is a carpenter and had been a church member since 1981. In 2001, he helped raise $180,000 from the church for maintenance purposes and estimates he and other church members have contributed over a million dollars more in personal cash, materials and volunteer work since then.
Tumblr media
Exploring the old mansion is like peeling back layers of time, he says: There's the false-backed cupboards in the master bedroom, that can be revealed using a pulley-system, rigged to the closet.

Under the cut are a bunch of plots I would like. Feel free to like, message, or IM me if you’re interested! And we can always discuss on Discord too if you prefer that as well.
I want a plot with AIs in it. Maybe something to do with an AI trying to pass off as human or two AIs trying to make it in the human world.
“ ok so i really wanna play older fcs so gimme the newly divorced couple who still run w the same ~crowd~ so they have to see each other a lot? and they deal with new bfs/gfs, thinking they might still love each other, trying to Fake it Til they Make It, drunken texts @ 2am, maybe they have kids together and have 2 deal with that, maybe they?? kiss again im just Shook someone please ” (brownie points if it’s F/F!!)
“ but a plot where muse a & muse b are actors. they’ve been in shows together &  after a while, they fell in love… but it ended horribly, for whatever reason. but since they still move in the same circles, they both end up auditioning for the same show…only to be casted as the leading couple. they had almost forgotten the taste of the other’s lips… ”
F/F Jennifer’s Body inspired plot
A whole “we don’t like each other but now we’re stuck together because of a snow storm” AU
“ Concept: two friends work at a hotel. And they get into all kinds of shenanigans together. Stay in empty suites together. They use the pool during after hours. The boss is out on business trips most of the time so they are in charge of keeping things in order when really all they’re doing is basically living for free and meeting people who stay the night/weekend/or however long. Just crazy fun that sometimes lands them in trouble (they witness things that they wish they hadn’t)(they find money to go out on fancy dates)(they meet people of all kinds) ”
“  You, a historian, find something odd in your records. The same face, accompanied with variations of the same name, keeps emerging in paintings, drawings, woodcarvings and documents, from a span of several centuries. It looks suspiciously like your assistant. ”
“ popular wealthy bitch who owns the school and intimidates everybody but is secretly crushing on the soft boy with the puppy dog eyes who’s totally so unaware of it " (as f/f would be awesome too!)
“ an f/f plot where two socialites are best friends and party and hook up with random guys when they’re out but always end up going home together and have this super open friendship where they have no problem fuckin each other 6/7 days of the week ”
“ i’ve always wanted to a plot where a small group of people in their mid 30s meets up in their high-school/college reunion and after it’s all over they go home… and wake up the following day as the teenagers/young adult version of themselves and quickly realize they’ve been thrown back in time. ”
“ we got drunk in vegas and now we’re married but i don’T FUCKING LIKE YOU??? AU ”
plot where “you’re dating my twin and we’ve always gotten along super well and lowkey i might have a crush on you and one night you call me to pick you up and you’re drunk and you keep telling me how much you love me and i think you might be confused and think i’m my twin but no you said my name you definitely just said my name wait what does this mean” (As f/f please and thanks!)
I want a plot inspired by Gone Girl. Probably like two housewives (or a housewife and friend) that conspire to get back at their husbands for whatever (cheating, putting them in debt, etc.) and just them two plotting/planning how they’re going to ruin them. And then of course the plan taking action and them watching the chaos they created while they disappeared from town to have better (or worse) lives. This can lead them to either staying strictly platonic or it can turn into a relationship. Either way it can be a toxic relationship.

Reinhard Jager killed while selling roses. He was hit by a drunk truck driver.
Tumblr media
It happened on November 27, 1985 at Coors Road and Paradise Boulevard, Albuquerque, New Mexico. His tragic death left his wife, Kaarina, alone with two sons aged one and two. She was from Finland and he was from Austria – they had been together for just four years. After his death money was a problem, first she fundraised and later got a job as a substitute teacher.

Sister raped and murdered in 1972. And a European sister was raped during the 1973 Carnegie Hall campaign.
Tumblr media
Dr Joseph Sheftick: Then I heard that the sister whom we had witnessed to on the bus team had been raped and murdered [in 1972]. Father said she was an offering and would go to a good place in the spiritual world.
‘40 years in America’ book, page 44
____________________________________
Hisako Watanabe: When I came to the United States, Father spoke to Mr. Kamiyama and he organized a team to go out and sell tickets for the Carnegie Hall speech—the tickets were about $2. We were a group of international brothers and sisters. A European sister was raped then [September 1973]. Sometimes it was dangerous. Sometimes people said, “Come to my apartment.” I knew it was dangerous to go with them, so I didn’t.
We had a holy ground in Central Park. Mr. Kamiyama gathered us there, and we reported every day. We sang and gave testimonies. We sold a lot of tickets and we had a lot of hope. But very few people came. Like the Bible, the guests were invited to the wedding but they didn’t come. Mr. Kamiyama said to us, “Go outside and get people to come in. Get anyone and tell them it’s free. Don’t sell any more tickets.” Anyone who was walking by we brought in. So then all the members came inside and took seats. We were so sorry to Father that we couldn’t bring people. This was our first opportunity to bring people, but it didn’t work. We had a good feeling, but the reality was so miserable. One old lady stood up and spoke up negatively. It was so intense.

Dan Fefferman reviews the book:
40 Years in America—an Honest Appraisal of the Life of the Unification Movement (PDF)
The recently released 40 Years in America: An Intimate History of the Unification Movement is an important book for several reasons. First, although size doesn’t count in all things, this is a big, gorgeous book, comprising 602 pages and including an impressive array of photographs from the early days of the US movement to the present day. Second, it is indeed an “intimate history” that presents not only the grand actions of its messianic leader but also the trials, tribulations, victories, and reflections of its rank and file members. Third, and for me most important, it is also a self-reflective book with a refreshingly honest approach to the challenges that US Unification movement has faced so far and will face in the future. Credit for this impressive project goes to editor Mike Inglis for conceiving and coordinating it, to church historian Mike Mickler for the painstakingly researched and thought-provoking history that meanders through its oversized pages, and to designer Jonathan Gullery for making what could be a dry historical treatise an absolute delight to the eyes and heart.
... But one also reads of stagnation in membership growth, an American movement of an increasingly oriental character, division and disillusionment over the Zimbabwean Heung Jin episode, the bombshell effect of Nansook Hong’s book, and a movement facing demoralization even as its leaders proclaim victory after victory. Mickler’s analysis is too far reaching to deal with in depth here. Let me touch briefly on two aspects that I felt were particularly interesting. The first has to do with what went wrong with the movement in the 1970s. The second deals with where we stand as we look toward the future. As most long-time members recognize, the American Unification movement experienced substantial and rapid growth in the early 1970s, virtually doubling in membership every year from 1970-1974. Mickler offers an intriguing thought as to the nature of the brick wall we hit after that. He sees the experimental Barrytown training project in 1975 as symptomatic of a departure from the American tradition that had previously brought such success. He cites four factors: 1) the sharpening of in-out distinctions between the movement and world 2) an extreme emphasis on fallen nature and obedience to central figures 3) a counterproductive shift away from center life and toward individual pioneering by young members and 4) the creation of an unattractive sense of desperation that failed to bring about the hoped for Pentecost. But Barrytown was only one symptom of a larger problem. “To a large extent,” says Mickler, “Barrytown was a Japanese import... The Japanese outlook and modes of operation became even more pervasive in the church’s mobile fundraising teams.” The result was a new church culture. College-aged Americans took on a soldier-like demeanor that had little appeal to their peers. They wore ties while witnessing, spoke urgently of the dangers of Communism, testified less frequently to the joys of their international community, stopped singing popular songs in favor or oriental Holy Songs, and sometimes even spoke in stilted English with a Japanese accent. The American movement may only now be fully recovering from that cultural shift. Even as we create new federations, hold successful meetings, develop high level contacts, build media empires, and establish internal institutions for spiritual renewal, the fact remains that American Unificationism seems incapable of recreating the magic that enables new members to join. As he looks to the future, Mickler sees a movement potentially divided among four alternative approaches to its apparent failures: 1) those who critique the orientalization of American Unificationism and call for a stronger sense of continuity with American culture 2) those who see the problem in terms of lack of faith and seek spiritual renewal through programs such as Cheongpyeong 3) those who call for a renewal of a communitarian approach in which center life and other community expressions of the Divine Principle ideal are emphasized and 4) those who see the solution in terms of a realization of “elder-sonship,” agreeing that we need greater continuity with American culture but presenting this as a natural evolution rather than a criticism of the past. Of course, these categories are not hard and fast, nor are they mutually exclusive. And this only part of the story, about 20 pages out of a 600 page book. Mickler concludes on a hopeful note, looking to the future and the emergence of Hyun Jin Moon as the heir apparent to True Father who can realize the principle of elder-sonship. Mike Mickler is to be commended not only for a stimulating essay, but also for memorializing a tremendous amount of detailed history in what I found to be a highly readable narrative. Yet even if one never gets around to a thorough reading Mickler’s history, 40 Years in America is guaranteed to give readers many hours of enjoyment, reveling in past victories, mourning fallen soldiers who have come and gone, and pondering what the future will hold for our children and grandchildren. ...

Hitoshi Hara was murdered on July 20, 1987 while selling roses for Sun Myung Moon’s church
Tumblr media
Hitoshi Hara had been a member of the Unification Church for less than a year when he came to the United States from Japan in 1984. He worked for over three years with the UC food distribution program in Denver, Colorado.
In the summer of 1987 he joined a team in New York fundraising to support the American ministers’ ICC.
On July 20 Hitoshi began a seven-day fast and decided to go out fundraising, even though his team had scheduled free time for the day.
Later that afternoon he was found near the stoplight where he had been selling roses from a bucket. He had a gaping gunshot wound in his abdomen. He was taken to a hospital, where he died early the next morning. He was 23.
Apparently someone had tried to steal his roses and his money and shot him. The killer was not found.
A funeral was held in New York City, led by Dr. Mose Durst, president of the Unification Church of America, and Rev. Ken Sudo, director of the New York church. Over 200 mourners attended.
Hitoshi’s parents came from Japan to attend the ceremony and also visited the food distribution facilities in Denver where their son had worked.
Hitoshi was known as a very pure, dedicated, and hard-working brother.

Hiromi Kazuni disappeared, and was likely killed, like many other Moonies who died while fundraising.
Tumblr media
Hiromi Kazuni was born in Japan on December 17, 1960. She joined the Unification Church in 1981. She moved to Miami in 1984. Her parents still lived in Japan at the time of her disappearance in Lee County, Florida, on July 11, 1986. She was 25.
Kazuni may use the first name Rachael/Rachel. She was wearing a bright pink shirt, gray and white striped pants and a watch and was carrying a black shoulder purse and a large black shoulder bag.
Black hair, black eyes. Height: 5’3 - 5'4, Weight: 110 - 140 pounds (other accounts give different statistics.)
She was a faithful member of the Unification Church. A small group of members had been fundraising in the area for about a week, knocking on the doors of various businesses and residences, soliciting donations and giving out Garfield hand puppets in exchange. Hiromi was carrying the puppets in her large black shoulder bag.
Hiromi eventually ending up walking along a predetermined route along the intersection of San Carlos Boulevard and Summerwinds Court.
She was last seen in the parking lot of Dino’s Restaurant on Fort Myers Beach in Lee County, Florida [Zip code 33908] at 6:00 p.m. on July 11. The restaurant was closed for the summer at the time.
Residents and store employees past Dino’s Restaurant along Hiromi’s route don’t recall having seen her, suggesting she never made it past the restaurant. She has never been heard from again.
She was alone at the time of her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved and foul play is suspected.
https://charleyproject.org/case/hiromi-kazuni
Apparently there is a DNA sample from her identical twin sister.
____________________________
https://www.reddit.com/r/UnresolvedMysteries/search?q=flair_name:"Unresolved Disappearance"&restrict_sr=1
The case was baffling. In an article dated July 16, 1986, Lee County Sheriff's Sergeant Rod Shoap commented that the police were “seeking any leads whatsoever.” He added that there was “no sign of foul play. She just disappeared.”
Another odd thing about this case is just how many discrepancies there seem to be depending on which source you look at – besides the disagreements on the date Hiromi went missing (Doe Network and Charley Project give the 25th and 26th of the month), there are also major discrepancies in her height (according to Charley Project and NamUs, she was 5'3-5'4; according to the Doe Network, she was 5'8) and weight (Doe Network says she was 140 lbs, NamUs says she was 110-115 lbs, and Charley Project says she could have been anywhere from 110-140 lbs. For what it's worth, all the contemporary news reports list her at 5'8 and 140 lbs.)

Violence is an Integral Part of Sun Myung Moon’s Church
Tumblr media
Jin-joo Byrnes body was found the day after she went missing while fundraising for the Unification Church in August 2002. A police spokesman said the apartment complex was in a “rough” section of Charlotte, North Carolina, a city about the size of Seattle that has had 51 murders this year. "It's not the appropriate place to drop a female teen to solicit," said police spokesman Keith Bridges. LINK
Kirsti Nevalainen (with additional input from HWDYKYM):
The Unification Church uses violence on all levels toward its members, and people outside the church.
1. Psychological violence Sun Myung Moon said in a speech on May 17, 1973:
“… In order for you to be a dynamic lecturer, you must know the knack of holding and possessing the listeners’ hearts. If there appears a crack in the man’s personality, you must wedge in a chisel, and split the person apart.”
http://www.tparents.org/moon-talks/sunmyungmoon73/SM730517.htm
The Unification Church used this kind of psychological violence and brainwashing toward members in order to break down their personality. After this process of indoctrination, isolation and sleep deprivation (members were sometimes allowed to sleep for only four or five hours a day) members became willing and mindless slaves for Moon’s army. They were used in fundraising and witnessing teams. Members were often compelled to cut off their relationships with their biological parents, siblings and other relatives and friends. In many cases they were compelled to stop studying at colleges and universities – and to work full time for Moon. In this way they became completely isolated from the rest of the society and got only one-sided information from the Unification Church.
Sun Myung Moon was well acquainted with psychological warfare which he learnt in the Heungnam communist prison camp in North Korea. His other teacher of psychological warfare was the CIA and KCIA which used the Unification Church as a political tool to support the South Korean government.
“The military governments tolerated Sun Myung Moon, used him, and were used by him. He used to play golf regularly with Kim Jong-pil [head of the KCIA] – “the brains behind” the 1961 coup and 18-year Park Cheong-hee reign.”
2. Economic violence Most members of the Unification Church are extremely poor. They are compelled to donate all their assets to the Unification Church. If they do not have enough money to donate they are encouraged to take big loans from the bank and donate this money to the Moon family. Most UC parents do not have money enough to send their children to university or college, and so their children will not have a proper education or a profession in the future.
The Moon family has amassed an incredible fortune of about $60 billion US over the last seven decades.
Even that fortune is not enough for them. The Moon family continuously require more and more donations.
3. Physical violence According to Sun Myung Moon everything in this universe belongs to God, i.e. to Sun Myung Moon because he is the incarnation of God.
In the early days of the Unification Church, in the 1940s and 1950s, even the young women had to sacrifice their virginity to Moon. If they did not do this willingly Sun Myung Moon sometimes forced himself on the women – for example Ms. Annie Choi (Sam Park’s mother) and Ms. Myung-hee Kim (Hee-jin Moon’s mother) – see below for further information.
In the fundraising teams of the Unification Church in the USA and elsewhere young women were sent out alone to sell different items from door to door. More of these young girls than is realised were assaulted or raped and a few were even murdered. As much as possible the UC covered up these tragedies. The UC has not changed its practises and it still sends young women out alone to fundraise.
In the 1980s abuse and incredible violence was inflicted on UC members by the Zimbabwean member named Cleophas Kundioni. Sun Myung Moon allowed all this to happen because he believed that Cleophas was the incarnation of his deceased son, Heung Jin Moon, and the members had to pay for their sins and failures. Some members suffered broken noses and others had chairs thrown at them or were beaten and marked with bruises. Around the world quite a few ended up in hospital, even pregnant women. Col. Bo Hi Pak, Moon’s faithful lieutenant, required open brain surgery and was said to have suffered permanent brain damage as a result of a severe beating by Cleopas in the US. The violence was reported to Moon who took a long time to finally sent Cleophas back to Africa.
The Zimbabwe members were not warned about him. Cleophas claimed about 80 members as followers, and forced himself on a number of women. At least one blessed wife gave birth to a child from Cleophas. There was more violence.
Similar beatings have taken place in the training center at Cheongpyeong Lake, not so far from Seoul. The Korean shamaness, Kim Hyo-nam, used to lead the purification sessions and force the members to beat themselves, and others and even their own children in order to drive out evil spirits of their bodies. There are stories of members being rolled up in carpets and beaten – an old Mongolian custom. Several people have died at Cheongpyeong, one in the lake. A man with cancer was beaten to drive out the evil spirits causing his disease. The beatings only accelerated his death. Now there are security cameras all over the compound. Members who try to hide to avoid the chanyang (singing and beating) sessions are found and brought to the sessions.
It is all pure madness and very dangerous. Some are affected very badly and have to spend time in the Cheongpyeong psychiatric hospital.
Finally, Sun Myung Moon should be regarded as a war criminal because, through support from his organizations the Wold Anti-Communist League (WACL) and CAUSA, he has promoted other organizations which have carried out killing, assassination, torture, kidnapping and even death squad activities in the global war against communism. Much of this happened in South and Central America.
Moon pushed hard to get the Nobel Peace Prize for himself.
Sun Myung Moon was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002
Members who were recruited into the UC sometimes recoil in horror when they find the evidence for all these things. They often joined with peaceful ideals. No one in their right mind wants to join such a criminal and violent organization!

Sam Park: “My mother’s involvement with Rev. Moon started in 1953 when, at the age of 17 years old, he forced himself upon her and took her virginity. At the time [pause] my father said that because my mother was destined to be his eternal bride or the “True Mother” in UC parlance, he had to have sexual relations with her to reverse what the … Forgive me because I am going to bring up UC / Moonie terms. Some of you might know it if you follow the church, but a lot of you won’t – just indulge me because there are a lot of Unificationists out there who may see this and it will probably help them. My father said to my mother that – he basically raped her – that he had to have sexual relations with her to reverse what the Archangel Lucifer did to the young Eve. Rev. Moon taught that the biblical Eve was seduced by the Archangel Lucifer when she was 17 years old which was the real reason for the Fall of Man as described in the Bible. That is how Moonies think about the Fall of Man.”

Moon was arrested for kidnapping a female student for three days
The female university student who Moon imprisoned could have been Soon-shil Choi. She was a 22-year old student at Yonsei University at the time. He was apparently coercing her to stay in his church. Her uncle, Soon-yong Choi, alludes to the Unification Church using force: “the stark realities of the almost forceful missionary work done in the early days of the Unification Church.”  LINK

“Based on the public lecture given by Professor Shin Sa-hun of the Department of Religious Studies at Seoul University, Moon seems to have indulged in a shaman-flavored sexual ritual with one of his young women. According to Shin, Moon confined and starved a woman for three days, while reciting prayers over her. The fasting aspect of the rite is reminiscent of fertility legends in which the male-god is identified as nourishing food. Moon dressed himself and his companion in white clothes and then flashed on bright lights.(17) The white clothes symbolize the savior’s purity, and the lights symbolize the inner light of the Jesus figure.”

Myung-hee Kim
“While I was sleeping I heard a panting voice next to me.”
Nakamura: Mr. Pak, in your book ‘The Tragedy of the Six Marys,’ there is a tragic university student called Young-hee Kim. She also gave her virginity to Moon… (Out of consideration some people are given pseudonyms in Pak’s book.)
[Her real name was Myung-hee Kim 金明姫. The Unification Church have acknowledged her and her son, Hee-jin Moon, and published photos of each of them together with Moon.]
Pak: Her case was a miserable one. She was an excellent student at the prestigious Yonsei University in Seoul. When the university president, who was American, was about to return home, he gave her a scholarship for one year of university tuition. However, her aunt was a follower of Moon and she embezzled the money and gave it all to him. So Myung-hee Kim went to the Unification Church to protest, and when she was there she heard some of Moon’s “Principle” lectures.
Nakamura: And the tragedy began from there.
Pak: Yes. That night, after the lectures were over, we all went to bed. The five married women who had physical relationships with Moon were on one side. Kim Myung-hee was sleeping at the far side of the room, the furthest away from Moon. I was sleeping next to Moon, and I fell asleep, but was suddenly awakened by something like gasps and panting voices coming from Kim who was on Moon’s bedding. Indeed I was very surprised at this. I do not know which one of them started it. I just earnestly pretended to be asleep.
Nakamura: And so Kim became pregnant, is that right?
Pak: Yes, she became pregnant with Moon’s child. There was also a male student attending Yonsei University who was a passionate/diligent follower. To keep himself out of trouble, Moon made the two of them stow away [on a fishing boat from Busan] to Japan. He promised to send them money, but that was just for show. Moon just threw them both away. Without any money, such as remittances from Moon, they suffered in poverty. Myung-hee Kim gave birth to the child in the room of a small (cheap) apartment. They could not go to the hospital because they were stowaways [and did not have passports. The young man helped Myung-hee Kim to give birth.] Neither of them knew what they should be doing. He cut the umbilical cord with his teeth. [Hee-jin Moon was born in Tokyo on August 17, 1955, very soon after their arrival there.]

The Unification Church believes that being a survivor of rape is equivalent to committing fornication and adultery.
I was at my first second generation blessing workshop when I was 16, and one of the questions to the panel of church authorities was whether or not rape counted as falling. The answer was a simple, yes. Next question. My adolescent heart sank, my fears were confirmed. No explanation, sympathy, nor road back offered. Someone else’s choice had changed my standing with God.
I remember hearing stories about how Korean girls used to carry small knives in their hanboks so that they could kill themselves and thus die rather than lose their virginity. I wished I had killed myself. Furthermore, because of the church’s teachings, I felt I should have killed myself, and that I had somehow wronged God by not killing myself.
I remember when Jin-joo Byrne was murdered, everyone was relieved that she had been killed before her body was raped. Like it made it any better. I remember people saying that it was better she had died than lose her lineage. I am still repulsed.
I can never tell anyone in the Unification Church what happened to me, because even though I know now (after years of nightmares and lots of therapy) that it wasn’t my fault, I know it makes me “fallen” in the eyes of members.
NOTE Jin-joo Byrne was sexually assaulted either before or after she was strangled. Eugene Evans pleaded guilty in Mecklenburg Superior Court to second-degree murder and first-degree sex offense.
“I appreciate your work. It helped me leave the church and has sent me down many a rabbit hole until 2am, fascinated, informed and angry. ... Please expose the way the cult pushed teenagers to disregard logic and safety, sleep 4 hours a night, fundraise 16 hours per day 7 days per week ... Jin-joo Byrne was a dear childhood friend” ... It was such a devastating tragedy that she lost “her sweet, innocent life.”
Out thoughts go out to all Unification Church members, their relatives and friends who have suffered loss or trauma. There are many who are struggling on the long road of acceptance and recovery from the consequences of the delusions and demands of Sun Myung Moon.
