#Last Christmas I listened to a large chunk of Arden season 2 while making gingerbread

I could wax lyrical about this for days, but there's something so special about the way that podcasts keep me company as I go about my day. Obviously books and shows and films can stay in my mind as I do other things, but there's nothing like the way that a podcast can be actually there with me in those everyday moments. When I listen to a good audio drama, I'm here, living my very ordinary life, but I'm also somewhere else, experiencing extraordinary or hilarious or heartbreaking things, sharing moments with characters who feel so close and so real even though - or perhaps because - they are only voices to me.

Posted this on Twitter but thought I'd ask here too - what's your favourite thing about podcasts as a medium? This one's for listeners and creators, I'd love to hear your thoughts!

For me, it's the lack of hoop-jumping. You don't have to convince anyone there's an audience for your thing beforehand etc etc, you can just make your art, put it out there, and trust that the people who'll love it will find it.
