I was debating on whether or not I should ask about this via messages or ask, but decided to go with asks cause why not.

I feel like I've asked something super similar to this in the past, but how do you handle the villains of the series in your cactuverse? Cause I've actually been having some difficulties with how I want to share them in the legendverse. Guzma and Ghetsis are fairly easy for me to know what to do with them, but others are difficult, especially in relation to my ocs. Cyrus seems the most difficult for me. He caused Danica a lot of trauma, despite her chill demeanor. She literally had to defeat him at a young age with little to no help outside of her friends, Looker( kinda) and Cynthia ( kinda. Still working on that part). Oh and Rowan, but he's the grandpa moral support. But she still did a lot of the work, you know? She was still the one that got dragged into that mess.

My main difficulty is trying that balance of " this man is literally evil" and " he can learn to be better if he legitimately tries" and that's so confusing with someone like Cyrus. He got the implied sad backstory that makes me go " ah. He needs therapy" but that doesn't excuse for what he did. Sorry if I'm talking in circles here( and for that rant) just. Cyrus. Villains. Author problems? Yeah.

Hi, there @ihopethisendswell! Ah yes, author problems! How do we handle the villains of Pokemon? You've asked me about how I felt about the villains in general which more or less goes to I really don't care for most of the villain teams. As I've mentioned before Cactusverse tends to be rather painfully accurate to the game canon for the various main series game events. Now what happens after the credit rolls varies between the villains/antagonists I'll start with Legends Arceus. Even though Kamado still retains his position as commander there is a quite noticeable dip in faith in his leadership after what he pulls on Rei (cactusverse legends protag). Over time as Jubilife Village continues to grow Kamado will eventually step down handing the reins to Cyllene and it's Rei who becomes the captain of the survey corps in his adult years. Now with Volo, there's a bit more of an emotional pull. The one thing I do change in canon for Legends is that Rei is not an isekai'd protagonist. Rather he's someone from that time period who happens to be of the Celestica people much like Cogita and Volo. So the betrayal and everything hits a lot different since there are just so few Celestica people left in Hisui at the time. I'm admittedly still ironing out the details for cactusverse!Hisui so I don't have much more to say here. Now for Team Rocket. After the events in Johto the Rocket admins all get arrested by the G-men (with the charge mainly led by Silver and Yellow with Lance in the background now that he's no longer champion after being dethroned by Ethan). Giovanni of course makes his escape as he does appear in BW2 over a decade later only to get Hyperbeamed by Lance on-sight (sorry Giovanni, Lance is Silver's new dad), and Looker arrests Giovanni. I do include the Let's Go Kanto Trio in cactusverse but I give them their own unique villain plot with the Team Rocket Trio since they are the last remaining members of Team Rocket who eventually realize they're better at being good than being bad and so they officially disband Team Rocket in Kanto. Then there's Team Aqua and Team Magma. Hoenn is one of the regions where there's some heavy meshing of canons. The climax of the plot ends up like Emerald where they both summon their respective legendaries and shit hits the fan. But this is more or less ORAS Hoenn so they have their ORAS designs and Megas and Zinnia are involved. Steven is still champion here but I do include him and May tag-teaming in the main game like Emerald because that was the coolest thing ever to me as a kid (and I had the biggest crush on Steven and at some point, I need to gush about him because he's still bae). Since Maxie and Archie are more misguided than anything they do get rehabilitated over time, with Zinnia and Wallace (who becomes champion after May decides to not be a standing champion) who help them get better.

Alright so for Team Galactic. Cactusverse follows Platinum for its events. Cyrus stays in the distortion world and dies. It's only after Dawn and Cynthia hear the story of him in Sunyshore that they realize he was more misguided but by the time they try to rescue him it's too late. The admins are arrested through a combination of Looker and the aura guardians of Sinnoh (mobilized by Riley). For Team Plasma well Neo Team Plasma largely gets arrested over time through the combined efforts of Good Team Plasma, the G-men, the international police, and the Village of Dragons (who contain the few remaining full-fledged aura guardians in Unova). Ghetsis and the Shadow Triad die in the Giant Chasm though. For Team Flare, Lysandre dies. Xerosic and Malva go to jail after the Emma events. For Alola, I've mentioned this before but I do mix up a bit of SM and USUM. The SM part is Lusamine being evil AF to her children. Lusamine also dies here but right now I'm torn if Marsha and Lillie bring her back to their world and she succumbs to the poisoning there OR if Lillie and Marsha decide to leave her in Ultra Space. Last but not least is Galar...chairman Rose goes to jail and because he is genuinely remorseful he doesn't take the lighter punishment given (because of his wealth as the courts in Galar are rather corrupt) and serves his entire sentence. The Royal Twins get off easy mainly because of their royal connections.

So that's pretty much how I handle cactusverse villains. I'll be down to talk more about legendsverse in DMs if you want to throw some ideas around!

Red leaving obviously shook both Blue and Green to their core. But with Green specifically she's just angry. Red didn't tell her he was leaving. Yes he didn't tell anyone, but he didn't tell her. His best friend. The one who he traveled with for the majority of the Kanto arc. The one who's been his ride or die from the start, even with their little rivarly. He left without a goodbye, and things went to shit, and she's just left to be angry.

I've always imagined that Green was. So bitter during HGSS. Like " I don't care if Red comes back and if he does, like hell I'd let him in again" bitter. Like " I climb that stupid mountain just to punch red across the face" bitter. And I don't think she's, you know, wrong for it. She felt betrayed, and overlooked and her life just felt like it was falling apart. I don't blame her for being angry, but I will say I think she was pretty destructive with it. I haven't fully figured it out though.

I just think it's interesting to compare Blue missing Red and reflecting a bit vs Green's anger and loneliness. I dunno I think it's neat.

Kanto Trio again ( teens era? yeah I think so )

Tiny design things that I'm not sure will stick

Red- there's a patch of darker hair in this picrew. I'm thinking he dyed his hair brown at some point, possibly to detach himself from the image of Champion Red. His eyes are dark brown here, might make em black but I dunno.

Blue- Since Blue and Green are siblings in this au, I've always struggled with making them look like siblings. Obviously, not every sibling need to look alike, but when paired with Daisy, I didn't want Green to stand out too much. Though, with that being said, given how Green's deal is that she's often forgotten in the narrative, yeah, maybe her looking different when standing next to Blue and Daisy might be the right play. One final thing, was debating on giving blue a fuck ton of freckles. No clear answer for now.

Green- Look above to see my thoughts on her hair lol. I did make her eyes similar to Blue, though again, if I change Red's hair to black ( which I might to contrast Kenji), then her's would have been a darker brown.

Aaaand yeah. This is the picrew I used. This was fun! I realized pretty quickly that the Kanto trio probably would have been in their teens here lol.

Green: You know how we had to leave Kalos to go to Unova, but we decided to go back to Kanto instead before then?

Blue: .....Yeaaaah? Why?

Green: ( showing him her phone) So, uh, we missed two world ending events.

Blue: W h a t.

Green: In Kalos, a group named Team Flare was about to commit genocide with an ultimate weapon, and in Unova, Team Plasma rose again and planned to freeze over Unova. We missed that.

Blue: ..... Were they stopped by kids?

Green: Teenagers, yes.

Blue, burying his face in his hands: Green, have we become the NPCs?

Green: I believe so, brother. I believe so.

Thinking about how the Legendverse trio met their respective partners.

It gets complicated as they all get the regular Kanto starters at the beginning of their journey, but here's some thoughts.

When Red was younger, before becoming a Pokemon trainer, he stumbled upon a wild Pikachu. This Pikachu was hurt badly and needed medical attention. The problem was that this Pikachu was incredibly hostile, attacking Red whenever he got close

However, Red was persistent,even allowing Pikachu to shock him just to make sure it felt safe and knew that he wouldn't harm it.

Eventually the Pikachu relents, circumming to it's injuries and Red rushes it to prof.oak.

For a few days( maybe a week?), the Pikachu stays at the professor lab. Naturally, Blue and Green are there as well, wanting to see the Pikachu. The Pikachu is still hostile, of course, so they keep their distance. Except Red.

Red visits the Pikachu every day, not minding getting shocked by it ( despite Blue's and professor oaks worry....not that Blue would admit it at the time lol)

Eventually, rather quickly in fact, the Pikachu stops acting so hostile....towards Red. It allows him to pet it without getting shocked, and when Red's around it's much more manageable for Professor Oak to care for.

Eventually the Pikachu is fully healed and ready to go. Green and Blue suggest catching it, but Red refuses, letting Pikachu go back into the wild. The Pikachu runs off without looking back. This hurts Red a little.

Later that night, Red is awoken by something hitting his face. He wakes up to see the Pikachu from before tapping his face to get him up.

The Pikachu isn't staying, sadly, but it did want to give Red a proper goodbye. It licks his face and nuzzles its way into a hug. Red hugs back.

Letting go a minute after, Pikachu is about to head out the window when Red speaks. He tells Pikachu to wait( his voice cracks a little), and rushes around his room looking for something. When he comes back to face Pikachu, he has a small red bandana.

" I want to see you again"

Pikachu allows Red to wrap the bandana around one of its ears. Pikachu then turns back towards the window, then back at Red. It sticks out it's tongue playfully before running off once again.

Red doesn't see that Pikachu years later until he starts his journey. A familiar red bandana catches his eye.

Moving into Blue and Eevee. Might change this one a bit in the future if I think of better specifics but:

This one is probably gonna be shorter.

The Eevee that Blue ends up having was actually a semi pet for Blue and Green.

Much like Pikachu,it was mostly in the professor's lab, chilling.

Of the Oak siblings, it did like Blue more, but Green was it's second favorite. Red was okay lol.

I think the plan was for the Eevee to become either Blue or Green's starter Pokemon, but after some thinking, oak realized that 1) the siblings would fight non stop about who gets it and 2) Red would probably feel left out, hence the three official Kanto starters.

Though I can see Eevee being Blue's unofficial starter before then. Like he would try battling with it and such.

Exactly how Eevee joins his team is unclear to me. Maybe it was his first pokemon outside of his Squirtle? Honestly with the way I'm seeing Eevee right now, I doubt it would just sit there and watch it's favorite human run off with another pokemon lol. So yeah, unofficial second starter.

Green and Clefairy :

To put it simply, during the mt.moon climb, Green stumbled upon a horde of Clefairy being harvested by some team rocket grunts. And there was no way she would just sit there and let that happen, so she fights them.

Though she quickly learns that she bit off more than she could chew. She hot overwhelmed quick. But she wasn't gonna give up!

If she can't beat them with force, she can outsmart them.

I don't know the specifics but she manages to not only trick the grunts into doing her bidding ( maybe she says she wants to join TR), and help one Clefairy escape, which let to the other clefairys escaping,which ultimately lead to Green leading a Clefairy army, overwhelming the rocket grunts and sending them packing.

I like to imagine Red coming in on the scene ready to kick rocket butt only to see them dashing off past him, and to see Green with a mob of Clefairys by her side.

Anyway, one of the Clefairys, the first one that she managed to get free, decided to join Green on her adventure!

Red is confused but happy she found a new pokemon.

Anyway, yeah! Those are the ideas right now. I think these are good, specifics be damned. I hope you enjoyed them.

At first I was worried that Green fully evolving her clefable would kinda ruin the whole " Pikachu Eevee and Clefairy" trio, but then I remembered the sheer power of cosmic power + minimize + stored power, and I felt very secure.

She was able to beat Mewtwo with that strat. Never fails( it has failed on some occasions but we don't talk about that).

All three are incredibly intelligent people. But they also share a single braincell and are fucking idiots.

Thinking about Legendverse Green....her ending up in TLH's clutches. I totally see her as the muscle of the TLH Chosens. I already see her as tall and muscular, like Red, so that plus Chosen powers + her personality becoming more brutish? Oof.

And poor Red and Blue. Red having to face off against his best friend, Blue having to go against his own sister. And to add more salt in the wound, she absolutely resents the two when under Serenity's control. She can and will say things to cut deep and make them feel miserable.

Kanto trio still on the mind. I probably mentioned this already, but I'll say this again: Red and Green are buff, man. Red spent is younger years on a fucking mountain, and probably still worked out a moderate amount ( if not that, then definitely taking a liking to hiking). And Green travels around a lot. You can't tell me she hasn't gained some muscle from all her experience.

Poor Blue is outclassed by his boyfriend and his little sister hgvhvgvgvcg.

Legendverse Red and Green/Leaf are so fucking funny because they have an equally intense rivalry as Red and Blue have but it's just funny.

Like Green knows how to push Red's buttons but not in a demeaning way like 10 year old Blue used to do, but in effectively bringing out his competitive side. Like yeah, Blue can too, but it's funnier with Green.

Like I'm imagining Red and Green sparring with their powers and it ends in a draw and their both just resting on the floor and then green suddenly goes :

Green: I totally won that by the way.

Red, sitting up immediately and verbally speaking: No you didn't.

Green, getting up, raising a brow: Yes. I did. You were sloppy!

Red: Says the one who tripped mid attack.

Green, getting up: It was for strategic purposes!

Red, also getting up: Please.

Green, narrowing her eyes at Red: You wanna go , Ketchup Boy?

Red, narrowing his eyes as well. Bring it. Cabbage.

The two immediately start fighting again. Poor Blue had to be the rational one and stop the fighting....only to be taunted by the other two ( mainly green) and it became a battle royal hgvhvgvgvcg. They eventually called it a draw lol.

Hi there! Hope all is well! Since you're in a Kanto Trio mood, I had a question about the Legendverse Kanto Trio. What role if any do they play in the Chosen storyline (were they chosen by the legendary birds or are they uh...un-chosen lol)

Heya!

At the moment, the most that the Kanto trio do in terms of plot is be the mentor figured for others. Blue and Green acted as such during the hgss arc for Kenji, Aiko and Beryl( though, with Beryl being closer to their age, it was more of them helping Beryl handle two energetic ten year olds lol). During SM, Red and Blue end up being uncles to Amsonia. For now, anyway. With the revised plot of SM, I have a feeling their dynamic with Alola is much more different than the base games. But, if nothing much changes, Blue still helps Amsonia realize her self worth as a person, given her reliance on being Lillie and Hau's protector was all she really focused on. Who is she decides that isn't something she ever thought about. Also Green tool Lillie under her wing while she was in Kanto, hence why Lillie currently looks the way she does ( as in Green encouraged Lillie to be true to herself and do what she wanted, which involved cutting hair and getting a tiny bit more edgy lol)

As for Chosen stuff, I am ( say it with me) torn. Red especially. Do I want him to be just a guy with superpowers, literally, authentically Just A Guy ( who is super famous but that's besides the point). The same goes. Blue and Green. I think the problem comes from the legendaries in Kanto. The legendary birds are fun and would be a good match, but with the nature of Chosens in the beginning of the timeline ( where it was very much a "Chosen since birth" scenario),the only legendary that would fit is Mew. And it again falls back to the whole do I want Red to be Just A Guy compared to every other protagonist or not. Chosen! Red with Mew would be cool ngl. Chosen! Green with Mewtwo would also be cool. I don't want Blue to be left out, and of the three birds, I'd say either Zapdos or Moltres fits him best. ( The original, the remix and birb hgvhvgvgvcg). And again, like you mentioned. Three legendary birds for each Kanto trio. So many options!

That being said, with TLH actually becoming part of the main timeline, it makes sense for the Kanto Trio to get involved one way or another. I doubt they would join TLH, given their experience with evil teams. Even more so if RR is under TLH's control ( still debating on that).

So tdlr, the Kanto Trio right now are more mentor figures than anything, and are currently living their best lives. Not sure if I would make them Chosens or not, cause I can see a case for both, but they are going to be more involved as a flesh out the TLH plotline.

Oh, and Blue and Jin have beef. Not real beef,they just like messing with each other, since they both became champions around the same time.
