Tumblr media
immediately fuckig personally targetted TWICE skdjgbdjf i actually have this in my notes doc already!! :D (one of my favorite chardev uquizzes to do is a gymleader typing one and i went n did it w all of them awhile back hehe ^_^) SO !! ill answer all of these together since theyre . ykno. :] just kinda taking from my notes where applicable etc etc Here We Go ! ^_^ uuuunder the cut bc this got Long As Fuck !!!! yaaaaaaa--
(honestly idk if any of them would actually be leaders but thats th context were working with and also Its Fun Yay!! ^_^ in no particular order.)
Wolfe: Fire Type just kinda works here? she takes battling very seriously, but is a bit awkward with the social mess. shes a bit prickly on the outside, but does tend to care a lot about how things are outside. she Does need to be dragged into doing things sometimes though. she seems outwardly bothered by her job, but there is a bit of pride buried underneath all that. TEAM: P!Tauros - Flareon - Houndoom - Magmortar - Incineroar (Signature is Incineroar-- though ive also considered having her be a Dark Type main. the-- Yeah Shes The Mightyena Haver. Yeah Its A Whole Thing.)
Rose: Psychic Type a gym in a large, sprawling atrium/garden. she lies in the middle of a convoluted maze, under a gazebo with a rope swing. she takes it very seriously, despite her outwardly flowery demeanor. she intends to Really test any challengers, and does not hold back. she gives very good advice, and does want to help people get stronger but uh... shes not immune to having a little fun, yknow? TEAM: G!Slowbro - Indeedee - Delphox - Meowstic - Gardevoir/Malamar (Signature is G!Slowbro! she also has a budew, but she doesn't talk about it much. she's had it for a while.)
Lilli: Flying Type oh she is having FUN with this gym leader thing. probably has a fun costume and everything :] id like to believe she has a little bit of contest influence to her deal, shes the one who loves her job most. loves training her team, loves seeing challenger teams, loves hearing challenger stories! thriving. Also She Will Fucking Obliterate You. despite her sillyfun outlook she does Not play around. but she is having fun! :D TEAM: Oricorio / Archeops / Swellow / Salamence / Minior (Signature is Salamence! but she loves her whole team so so dearly.)
Inigo: Ice Type probably one of the most formal of the group. 'normal.' honestly hes just kinda new to the whole thing and figuring it all out. he does his best, but honestly seems kinda distracted sometimes. its a role passed along his family, and he can do it well, but, well, um... um, anyway, really impressive team you have, good job, heres your badge. good luck. :] TEAM: A!Sandslash - Avalugg - Aurorus - Mr. Rime - Lapras (Signature is Avalugg, but the lapras is very important to him too.)
Cocoa: Steel Type most arent even sure shes a gym leader. she just fucking disappears sometimes. shes odd, but very dedicated. rarely speaks, but does what she needs to. she seems almost distracted most times, unless someone actually poses a challenge. ...and then she disappears again. a mystery. (she doesnt have a gym challenge. formally, at least. just fucking finding her is challenge enough-- she just goes around her business not making a big fuss of herself, so people mostly just have to... track her down. she lives in the city though, so uh. good luck. its mostly word of mouth that helps challengers get around and recognize her. she isnt Trying to avoid people, it just... happens. oops ^_^) TEAM: Bronzong / Scizor / Corviknight / Tinkaton / Aggron (Signature is Aggron! though her tinkaton is a fucking Menace on its own too. unrelated, but she also has a spinda she doesnt use for battling that she keeps with her. important :])
Magpie: Normal Type should honestly be a professor… hes just some guy. he helps around a lot, and you only really realize hes the leader once he gets there. he like… actively buries the lead by not mentioning it. he has his “haha im just some lackadaisical guy :)” demeanor on most times, but hes Very skilled at strategizing and quick thinking. …but hes so silly!! ^w^ (he honestly really likes how little people tend to pay mind to normal types. he tends to act like hes not a trainer at all, just a guy who Hears Some Tips Here And There. all fun and games until Silk Scarf STAB Hyper Beam.) TEAM: Porygon2 - Smeargle - Farigaraf - Staraptor/Braviary - H!Zoroark (he has a smeargle out and about most of the time, but his true signature is porygon2.)
Luci: Poison Type she takes rose’s brand of annoying and dials it up to 11. she leads challengers on with ridiculous challenges and puzzles and tricks– just to see what happens :) oh no getting tired?? what a shame! here she was excited to see an interesting match… her team has Incredible synergy, and some fairly good coverage. she takes control and keeps it. she doesnt lose often, but when she does, she Remembers. she is, as they say, A Bit Petty. TEAM: Toxapex/Glimmora - Salazzle - Crobat - Toxicroak - Gengar (Her signature is either Toxapex or Glimmora. whichever i eventually decide fits th bill better. gengar is a pretty close runner-up though.)
[i dont talk about him much because he's still figuring it out, but additionally... Lark is a dark-type user! is technically the first of the bunch. Team including: Weavile, Absol, Cacturne, and Tyranitar-- still a wip, but signature is Tyranitar. the absol is with him more often than not, though.]
A LITTLE SHORTER THAN THAT THOUGH its hard picking just one for everyone but iwill waffle on as i always have... these r all kinda instant gut reactions bc ive already been here like an hour and a half and i will stay here longer SO--
Wolfe: MIGHTYENA HAVER. pretty pangoro/mabosstiff coded too though... Rose: i put her down as roserade but every day she makes decisions and honestly i have no fucking idea rightnow djfgndkf Lilli: oricorio codedddd... also associate her with emolga. latias coded also. Inigo: H!Zorua coded lil thang... my heart also says swablu and or minccino but come back to me later abt that. latios coded also. Cocoa: this ones HARDDDD. honestly tinkaton isnt a bad gut pick for her though. magpie: meowth coded somehow? hes some sort of small mammal. i believe this in my heart of hearts. luci: for lore reasons i have to mention vulpix but my heart says h!sneasel. she just has the vibe. trust
BUT ILL!!! PROBABLY ROTATE THESE OVER A LOT imjust trying t scoot along bc iwill again . be here all day otherwise KJSNFDHBGJ ANYWAY . yay yippy ^_^

FairyTail au please please please (Okay, yeah, I'm kind of a huge FairyTail nerd)
FAIRY TAIL AU HEADCANONS:
But like consider this!!!
Sting!Lillie and Rogue!Gladion!!!
Let’s say Lusamine is actually a strong mage who used dark magic in order to protect her family from a huge army trying to invade the country.
Like, in the middle of a giant war, Lusamine is part of the Mage Guild named Alolan Forme. She uses the dark magic as a last ditch effort to win.
When she gets back to the guild, she ends up being cursed (like Zeref) and accidentally kills her husband Mohn in the process.
She immediately leaves the guild and her two kids.
In Alolan Forme, Hala - the guild master - takes custody of Lusamine’s two kiddies and so Gladion and Lillie end up growing up with Hau.
One day, when they were out and about, Gladion and Lillie got lost in the woods and Hala sent out the whole guild to look for them.
In actuality, Gladion wanted to leave the guild because he felt bad that he didn’t have magic and was the most useless in the guild compared to their mom who was the strongest mage ever.
Lillie tags along and they both end up getting a lot a bit lost.
After half a year of searching, Gladion and Lillie return claiming that two dragons named Solgaleo and Lunala gifted them with amazing magic power.
TANANANANANANA! Lillie and Glads become like, the most powerful magic duo ever.
Lillie doesn’t like fighting, though. She likes to stay back and heal people instead.
Lol, she’s more like Wendy (?).
Hau, on the other hand, gets some legit Fire Dragon Slaying magic.
His dad became a Fire Dragon and eventually left to hide away from the world so his power doesn’t fall into the wrong hands after the dragons become extinct.
You are a Celestial Spirit mage who enters Alolan Forme when you and the gang are young adults basically.
At this point, you’ve got a couple of spirits on your belt.
You inherit Gemini (Sina and Dexio) from your own parents and you met Sagittarius (Kahili) on one of your parents’ jobs for their own mage guild. They kindly gave both keys to you so you can start your own journey.
Ironically, Lusamine was inspirational to many young mages and you are one of them so entering Alolan Forme is your dream.
The image of Z Moves is the Guild Tattoo!
*cough* Sun has Ice Make powers and strips a lot ironically.
Moon is like… the Erza, she has Requip powers but she’s still learning more from Olivia.
Gladion doesn’t really think you’re that powerful so he doesn’t pay you much mind.
He does start paying attention when you and Hau form a team together.
He minds a lot when Lillie asks his permission to go on a job with them.
Gladion is forced to tag along just cause he doesn’t want Lillie to be alone with Hau.
Everyone you go up against is more afraid of Hau/Gladion/Lillie because they’re all Dragon Slayers.
In a fit of determination, you go off on a seven year job alone and return with Seven!!! More!!! Zodiac!!! Keys!!!
As soon as you get back, you challenge Gladion to a one on one fight which… well, shocks everyone.
Everyone challenges people to fights in this guild but no one has challenged Gladion except Hau and they always end up in a Draw.
Gladion accepts.
Which is almost weirder than you asking, since he barely speaks to you.
You tell him to wait a bit and stroll right up to Molayne telling him to tell you why he was banned from the Spirit Realm.
EVERYONE IS LIKE WTF??? MOLAYNE??? YOU’RE??? A CELESTIAL SPIRIT???
“Hahaha, did Kahili tell you?”
“Sophocles told me.”
“Oh… so he’s in a contract with you.”
“You saved him from a bad master, didn’t you?”
“…”
“Don’t worry, I’ll talk to the Spirit King about your sentence!”
You have that cool Lucy moment where she convinces the Spirit King to let Loke back into the Spirit World.
As soon as you’re done with Molayne you look at Kukui, resident light mage, and smirk.
“And you?”
LIKE??? HOW MANY SPIRITS??? ARE THERE??? IN THIS GUILD???
Hala looks on in amusement as Hau’s jaw hits the ground.
“I married a human. She holds a contract with me.”
“Ah, yes. Your wife. Burnet.”
“However, I admire your tenacity!!! I will help you sometimes.”
“Hahaha, alright. I won’t take your key from your wife. I wasn’t planning to.”
Protagonist is so savage and OP you basically own 10 out of 12 Zodiacs rn. *shakes head*
You and Gladion prepare for battle but Hala stops you both.
“Need I remind you that Gladion is an S-Class mage.”
“Whuuuut? You passed the test while I was gone?”
“Yes.”
“Impressive! I’ll have to pass this year’s test!”
You and Team Alola entering the Grand Magic Games together!
“This sucks, I still want to fight you.”
“Focus on the other guilds, you idiot.”
At this point everyone in the guild ships it like pls kiss already.
Gladion is absolutely enraged when one of the other guilds cheats and cancels out your attack he’s tempted to drag the entire audience into Shadow until he finds the cheater.
A lot of ladies from other guilds wants Gladion. :”>
He’s only got eyes for you, though.
Eventually, he will confess.
Although, it will likely be because the guild has had enough of your flirting. XD
Knowing Gladion, it’ll be the day you two finally fight head to head. He just, suddenly confesses right in the middle of the fight and you lose because of it.
“(Y/N).”
“You’re a cheater, Gladion. You should never cheat on your s/o. That’s bad boyfriend behaviour.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
“You’re lucky you have such a kind and powerful s/o!”
“That I am.”
Lets not discuss the whole Acnologia thing lets let them be happy hohoho.

Can a school nurse be accused of patient abandonment?
A school nurse in a public school district asked me about her potential liability when she and her colleagues leave their respective school buildings for an hour lunch period.
Some school nurses have paid lunches so they can stay in the building for students needing medications for specific conditions during that time period. But she is concerned about liability for a school nurse who is out to lunch when a medical incident involving a student occurs. She specifically identified abandonment as her main concern.
Historically, the law defined patient abandonment within the context of the physician-patient relationship. When a physician unilaterally no longer provided care to an individual and no time was allotted for the patient to obtain care elsewhere, the potential for abandonment was present.
More recently, however, and certainly in today’s world, patient abandonment has been applied to nurses. In a 2009 position statement, the American Nurses Association defined patient abandonment as a “unilateral severance of the established nurse-patient relationship without giving reasonable notice to the appropriate person so that arrangements can be made for continuation of nursing care by others.”
Abandonment issues that could effect nurses
Patient abandonment is not the same as employer abandonment.
The latter has been defined as a nurse failing to give reasonable notice to an employer of his or her intent to terminate the employer-employee relationship under circumstances that seriously impair the delivery of professional care to patients or clients. Obviously, the employer in such a situation is affected by the nurse’s conduct, but that impact is an employer issue. Boards of nursing have no jurisdiction over employer abandonment or employer-related issues.
The most immediate liability for a nurse who unilaterally leaves a patient without continued nursing care faces a professional disciplinary action from the state board of nursing. Such behavior is seen as “unprofessional conduct.” A nurse practice act and/or its rules also can list abandonment of patient care as grounds for disciplinary action.
All nurses, including school nurses, are accountable and responsible for their own conduct and judgments. A careful assessment of specific students’ nursing needs must be made by the school nurse.
The decision to leave a school building for a lunch hour when there are students who, based on their diagnoses or treatments, may need a nurse present, is not a wise one. If there were a medical incident, the school nurse might be charged with patient abandonment.
In addition, if the student suffered an injury or died, a lawsuit may be filed by the parents. Although the school district would certainly be named as a defendant in the suit, the school nurse might also be named individually for failing to meet his or her overall legal standard of care and standards of practice.
How to avoid patient abandonment allegations
You can avoid patient abandonment allegations by, first, staying in the school building during the lunch hour even if you are not paid to do so and carefully evaluating the student population and its needs. If the school nurse believes, in his or her best professional judgment, that there is the potential for harm to a student or students in his or her absence, lunch “breaks” should be taken in the building.
Another option would be for someone to cover for the school nurse who leaves the school building for lunch. This person might be an RN who is not employed by the school district, but who contracts with the district to be present during the time when the school nurse is offsite.
The school nurse’s “handoff” to the RN covering while he or she is away must be thorough. The RN should be instructed to call the school nurse immediately if something occurs.
In addition to orienting this RN to the students’ needs, policies and procedures need to be in place for all personnel left in the building to follow if a medical incident arises, such as:
Who is to call for paramedics and when?
Who notifies the school nurse immediately if an incident occurs?
Who accompanies the student during a transport by ambulance to the hospital?
Who calls the parents?
Tapping into the resources of a school nurse consultant is another option. He or she may have realistic solutions when a school nurse leaves the school building under these circumstances.
Voicing the concerns of this arrangement with the administrator and/or school superintendent might result in more coverage for those school nurses who do leave the building for lunch breaks.
Finally, delegating the responsibility to one or more unlicensed individuals to intervene in an emergent situation when the school nurse is away is an option, but a somewhat precarious one at best. A good resource for this last option can be found in a 2010 article by Cheryl Resha, “Delegation in the School Setting: Is it a Safe Practice?”
It is important to keep in mind that the law does not require any nurse to prevent all risks of harm to those to whom she provides care. Rather, the law requires a nurse to prevent a reasonable and foreseeable risk of harm to patients/students.
If you are a school nurse, how do you handle short absences from the school building where you work?
Courses related to ‘delegation and caring for school children’
CE124-60: Delegating to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (1 contact hr) The skill and art of delegation for effective use of unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) is a critical 21st century nursing competency identified by the American Nurses Association and National Council of State Boards of Nursing, yet many nurses remain uncomfortable with delegation. This educational activity will address the role of delegation in providing quality care in a collaborative environment and will provide strategies for effective delegation.
CE462: Lines of Communication (1 contact hr) From taking an order over the phone to handing off a patient to another department, all healthcare professionals face situations every day involving potential communication problems. Healthcare professionals must understand and adopt safety practices to ensure the smooth functioning of the healthcare team—and the safety and optimal care of their patients. This module discusses the importance of clear, accurate and timely communication, both oral and written, in providing safe and effective care to patients. It reviews unacceptable medical abbreviations, acronyms and symbols, hand-off communication and timely and accurate reporting of critical test results.
60228: An Interprofessional School-Based Team’s Approach to Caring for Lilly (1.5 contact hrs) Public schools serve children with disabilities in the “least restrictive environment” possible, meaning most children are included in the general classrooms with supportive services built into their days. Healthcare professionals work within the educational team to provide the services needed for students with disabilities to achieve their educational goals. This case-based activity outlines the roles and interactions of one child’s interprofessional healthcare team in an elementary school setting. Lilly is a second-grade student with cerebral palsy and related health issues. Learn how a team of healthcare professionals joins with her educational team to help Lilly stay well and participate fully at school.

Just in Time for Halloween, The Ask D'Mine FEAR Edition!
New Post has been published on http://type2diabetestreatment.net/diabetes-mellitus/just-in-time-for-halloween-the-ask-dmine-fear-edition/
Just in Time for Halloween, The Ask D'Mine FEAR Edition!
OK, we've been doing fear all month... but this week's edition of our diabetes advice column, Ask D'Mine, is especially scary! Chills-down-the-back scary! I promise. Have you met its host, type 1 PWD, diabetes author and community educator Wil Dubois?
Don't let him scare you off entirely this week 😉
Need help navigating life with diabetes? Email us at [email protected]
Lisa from Florida, type 3, writes:I'm a mother of a 14-year old girl with type 1 diabetes. Our healthcare system is truly unraveling because of Big Pharma and insurance companies. I fear for my daughter's future because of it (and remain pessimistic that a cure will ever come because of the huge profits that come with diabetes treatment). So why can't we at least lobby for generic insulin that would be affordable to all? With numbers of diabetes growing so big, we would be a mighty force to reckon with!
Wil@Ask D'Mine answers: Well, as to the cure, let me tell you my favorite scary Halloween story: The cure for diabetes probably has been found, no less than 13 times, even... So why on earth haven't we heard about it? Why the @#$%& are we all still shooting up insulin?
I can just picture the scene: John Q. Researcher, PhD, has just finished writing up his diabetes cure results and has emailed them to the New England Journal of Medicine. He has a good heart, but visions of glory and fame dance across the insides of his eyelids when closes his eyes. Then the phone rings. The Nobel Prize Committee would like to talk to him about his findings.
He can't believe his good luck as a jet-black stretch limo pulls up outside his ivory tower. The driver, in a black trench coat and mirrored sunglasses, holds the door open for him. In the back, an open bottle of champagne awaits. Oh, along with some... you know... overly-large-breasted party favors.
But after the limo whisks Dr. Researcher out of the city, something seems amiss. The airport is the other way. What's going on? The city falls behind as the limo roars out into the empty countryside. Dr. R is starting to get a little antsy, a little sweaty, but the bimbos pour him another glass of bubbly...
And suddenly the limo pulls sharply off the main highway and barrels down a dirt road. The sky is darkening now. A flash of lighting streaks across the horizon. The wind picks up and dry leaves blow and scatter in the wake of the limo.
Something is definitely wrong. Dr. R reaches for the door handle and finds it's been removed. He can't get out of the limo. There's no escape. He's trapped.
Dr. R has a date with the grim pharma reaper.
Yes, 13 times diabetes has been cured. And 13 times the researchers have been driven out and "deposited" into a corn field, and their research burned.
BOO!!!
OK, so I don't really believe that, but there're probably people who do. The real fact is that it's damn hard to come up with a cure for a disease when you can't even figure out what causes the frickin' disease in the first place. And thus far, the cause of your daughter's diabetes is rather ghost-like. Sometimes, during a full moon, researchers think they can see it... but then...
Money aside, trust me, a lot of good-hearted people are hard at work on a cure. Even so, I'm pessimistic that it will come soon, too. I don't blame greed for the lack of progress. I just think the obstacles are too large to overcome anytime soon.
I also think pessimism can be good medicine for our diabetes. If we live our lives like there will be a cure tomorrow, we'll be careless with our health, and pay a very high price indeed. If we live our lives like there will never be a cure, the worst that can happen is we'll be pleasantly surprised. And on that day I'll meet you and your daughter, along with the rest of the gang, down at the Krispy Kreme. Oh, and then I'll need to look for a new job. (I kinda think that under the circumstances, I'll have a hard time getting too upset about that.)
But you're right, there's a lot of money to be made on diabetes, and thank God for that. I bet you think I hit the bottle early today, huh? Nope. Here's how I run the math. Think how much more money Big Pharma can make if they can extend my life just one year. In just one year, think how many more test strips, how much more insulin, how many more CGM sensors, and how many more infusion sets I'll use. Oh, and it gets better. Just think how much more money they'll make if they can extend my life by five years? Or by a decade?
I'm a frickin' gold mine.
But guess what? While they're mining all that gold, I'm alive for my son. So you gotta keep these things in perspective.
As to lobbying for generic insulin... well, more on lobbying in a minute, but let me talk about insulin first. When a medicine goes generic, the formula becomes public knowledge. Yep, it would be just like if you could look up the Colonel's secret recipe on the internet. But making insulin is a lot harder than making fried chicken. Now I don't know exactly how much it costs to build an insulin manufacturing plant, but I'm pretty sure it's a long number with a lot of commas and zeros in it. Frankly, anyone who built an insulin plant to sell generic insulin would never recoup their investment. And actually, we kinda sorta have generic insulin already. The Wal-Mart ReliOn insulins are out-of-patent formulations that sell for about a quarter of the cost of the fancy-pants stuff we all prefer. (btw, it's made by Eli Lilly.)
Now, I loved your image of people with diabetes as a mighty force to reckon with. Let's think about that for a minute. The United Auto Workers have around a million members and have been known to make a few congressmen tremble in their boots (disclaimer: I'm a card-carrying member of the National Writers Union, which is actually part of the UAW). What're some other influential groups in our county? Oh, the National Rifle Association comes to mind, they have a little bit of political clout with around four million members.
But the official number of persons with diabetes this year is 25.8 million. If we voted with one voice we'd be second only to AARP (with their 40 million members) when it comes to political power and clout. A million-man march would look like a Sunday picnic compared to a 25-million diabetic march, don't you think?
And if we actually organized, and spoke, and voted, with one voice, we could practically be the only game in town—for two reasons. First, in 2010 around 90 million Americans turned out to the polls to vote. So, in theory, we could be about a quarter of the voting population. Oh, and if our loved ones also came to the polls with us, we could command half the vote. Or more.
And second, our cause, if narrowly focused on a limited number of diabetes-specific issues, is non-partisan. That's how Prohibition got passed in the
'20s. It was some groups that wanted the election focused on Prohibition and Prohibition alone. They supported politicians of both parties who favored the issue and they voted out anyone of either party who got in their way. I hate to compare the diabetes cause to anything as crazy as Prohibition, but if a freedom-loving country like ours was once taken over by a small group of highly focused fanatic people in this way, we could take a page from their playbook.
Maybe this Halloween, it's time to transfer some fear: from us to the people in Washington, D.C.
This is not a medical advice column. We are PWDs freely and openly sharing the wisdom of our collected experiences — our been-there-done-that knowledge from the trenches. But we are not MDs, RNs, NPs, PAs, CDEs, or partridges in pear trees. Bottom line: we are only a small part of your total prescription. You still need the professional advice, treatment, and care of a licensed medical professional.
