Wow! What melancholy news to learn that actress Lisa Loring - the original Wednesday Addams - has died aged 64. Dressed in funereal black and clutching her headless doll, Loring (born Lisa Ann DeCinces, 16 February 1958 - 28 January 2023) made a gravely composed and adorable impression as Gomez and Morticia’s daughter in kitschy TV series The Addams Family (1964 to 1966). That joyous clip of Wednesday doing the frug with Lurch is an indelible moment in pop culture. Of course, I also love Christina Ricci’s supremely deadpan interpretation of the character in the two Addams Family movies in the early nineties. She began modeling at age three and appeared in an episode of Dr. Kildare, which aired in 1964. 

She was best known for her role portraying Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family sitcom (1964–1966). She was one of the longer surviving cast members of the main cast. The Addams Family was popular during the 1960s, but gained popularity over the decades with constant reruns, giving birth to numerous iterations and remakes.
