BCCI Announces Equal Match Fees For Both Men And Women Cricketers

Indian women's cricketers will now earn the same match fees as men's cricketers from international matches, BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced on Thursday.

Women's cricketers will now earn INR 15 lakh for each test, INR 6 lakh for each ODI, and INR 3 lakh for each T20I. The BCCI has now joined Cricket Australia and NZC (New Zealand Cricket) in implementing equal pay for men and women cricketers.

"In our Apex Council meeting today, we have made a marquee decision on pay equity for our women cricketers. Our women players will be paid the same match fees as men in international cricket. This decision sets the platform to grow and develop cricket. I believe this is a significant step forward for women's cricket and the game overall" - Roger Binny, BCCI President.

At its 91st AGM, the BCCI officially approved the Women's Indian Premier League for next year, and discussions are ongoing about whether the league will use a draft process or an auction to pick players.

Hardik's Heroics Takes India Over The Line Against Pakistan.

India won their opening game of the 2022 Asia Cup by a margin of five wickets over Pakistan, their bitter rivals. Both sides were without their top strike bowlers, who were sidelined by individual injuries.
