1, 3, 4, and 22 for Lulu, Evelyn, and Sam :33
BABYGIRLS
.!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? If they have multiple, who's the favorite?
Lucian -ïżŒ yes. always have and always will. he has one or two that he keeps by his pillows and the rest are just TANGLED in the blankets. you ain’t sitting on his mattress without suffocating at least one teddy bear with your ass 😭 - his favorite stuffy is a periwinkle bunny named lala :3 (but we all know his true favorite is kai đŸ€«)
Evelyn - why would she need a stuffed animal when she has her girlfriend to keep her warm? đŸ€
Sam - YES. don’t let him fool you. he will hide them whenever someone comes to visit but TRUST me when i say he has a whole collection of kitty plushies. only cats tho. he loves cats.
3. Ask them to describe their love interest.
If you were to ask Lucian, he’d probably say something along the lines of this: “he’s the nicest, cutest, sweetest boy in the whole wide world. you’d be jealous if you ever saw him. :3”
Evelyn would be more than happy to tell you a full synopsis on her girlfriend but she usually goes with a simple answer like this: “She’s just a doll. Cuter than a button and prettier than a dove.” (ok Shakespeare đŸ”„)
haha. Sam? haha. hahaha. um. heads up for the future NEVER ASK HIM THIS!! YOU WILL BE STUCK THERE FOR SIX HOURS. but something like this: “she’s stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, radiant, captivating, charming, elegant, striking, dashing, alluring, exquisite, lovely, mesmerizing, enchanting, irresistible, fabulous, charismatic, fashionable, incredible, incomparable, graceful, appealing, ravishing, sophisticated, magnetic, unforgettable, impressive, flawless, timeless, enthralling, divine, splendid, spellbinding, winsome, jaw-dropping, delightful, fetching, sensational, regal, opulent, sublime, statuesque, dreamy, mesmeric, sumptuous, admirable, dazzling, impeccable, ravishing, luminous, polished, remarkable, enigmatic, unblemished, tantalizing, unforgettable, classy, effortless, opulent, unparalleled, glamorous, immaculate, head-turning, exotic, bewitching, radiating, coveted, commanding, unrivaled, supreme, glamorous, unassailable, unmatched, enthralling, captivating, bewitching, unblemished, spectacular, resplendent, spellbinding, enigmatic, stunning, distinguished, unfading, irresistible, striking, vivacious, regal, spellbinding, impressive, majestic, ethereal, unforgettable, incomparable, breathtaking, sumptuous, resplendent, el-”
4. Do they look good in red?
Lucian - yeah but he looks the best in blue :3
Evelyn - yes she looks good in all colors!! green is definitely her color tho :3
Sam - MEOW MEOW MEOW YES!!! :3
22. Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What's their go-to?
Lucian - he doesn’t like it. HE LOVES IT. call him babe and he’s down for the count. if he’s fond of someone, he’ll probably refer to them as sweetheart/sweetie or honey/hun. but if we’re talking about his BOO

baby every name in the book. kai will not escape them. his go-to is definitely honey though :3
Evelyn - she likes being called pet names by women lmao. men DNI 😡😡. she only calls violet any sort of pet name and it’s usually “darling” or “dear.” her go-to is 100000%
..DARLING DEAR though bc she’s British!! (ok Edgar Allen Poe đŸ”„)
Sam - he’s on his KNEES for a pet name. while he doesn’t particularly refer to others with any sort of pet names in fear they won’t like it, he does abbreviate a lot of people’s names. for example: riley = rie, lucian = lu, evelyn = ev, etc. if he DOES call anyone a pet name it will be riley and only riley. he leans more toward “baby/babe” :3

Valentine’s Day Special
Note: (4/4) lukai :3 TW: it’s complicated. uh. cannibals being cute.
“How can you already be sleepy?” Kai purred with a toothy smile, grabbing his waist and holding him like there was no tomorrow. “It’s not even time for bed yet
”
Sleepily, Lucian rested his head against his boyfriend’s lap and wiggled closer so that they could share their body heat. “I had too much to eat.”
“Mmh, yeah?” Moving the stray hair from his face and tucking it behind his ear with one finger, he watched as Lucian’s face remained unmoved. With his lips slightly parted and his eyelids drooping ever so gradually, he could hardly resist the urge to kiss him all over. “Cutie.”
A sleepy giggle erupted from his throat when hearing that nickname. Kai rarely used pet names unless he wanted to console, persuade, or seduce him. In this case, it was clearly the latter. Lucian’s eyes peeled open to exchange a glance at his boyfriend doting on him like a lapdog and cheekily grinned.
“Do you know what tomorrow is?” Lucian averted his attempts of flirtation to a different subject, wondering whether he would follow through with the act or not. It didn’t come as a surprise when he saw it fly right over his head.
“Yep.”
“Really? What is it?”
Blinking while desperately yearning for words to fall onto his tongue, Kai’s adoring smile appeared silly rather than genuine. His boyfriend waited patiently for his reply with closed eyes and slowed breaths. He was practically half-asleep before his voice finally rang out through the comfortable silence. “Um, V-Val
Val-in-times Day.”
Lucian placed his two fingers right above Kai’s belly button and absentmindedly worked his way up to his chest as if his hand were on a grand journey. It wasn’t until he reached his abdomen that he paused, planting the entirety of his palm against his chest with a drowsy look on his face. The touch was enough to send bolts of electricity through his boyfriend.
“Mhm, that’s right. You’re so smart, honey.” Lucian giggled again, his shirt riding up his stomach a little as he stretched across Kai’s thighs. It was hard to avert his sharp golden eyes from tracing his gorgeous figure. Once he caught himself staring, he sheepishly looked away — It wouldn’t be good to let his eyes linger for any longer anyhow. [Even if Lucian didn’t mind it.] “You’re the best boyfriend in the whole universe. Y’know how big the universe is?”
Kai shook his head.
“Gimmie your hands,” Lucian demanded, still visibly exhausted despite his vivid consciousness. Without a shred of hesitation, Kai obeyed his orders and placed his fists onto his warm palms. His porcelain skin was surprisingly soft. “Now watch. Pretend your hands are the planets and my hands are the universe they live in, okay?”
Separating their skin contact by gradually removing his palms from his hands, Lucian continued to spread his arms further and further apart until they were as far apart as he could manage. In disbelief, Kai blinked a few times and tried to comprehend the visual representation that he created.
“See? You get it?”
Kai blushed and nodded. He didn’t truly understand what he was trying to say, but what he did know was the fact he was trying to explain it to him the best he could. “
I love you more than even that, Lu.” Towering over his face, he swiftly shifted his head to align with Lucianïżœïżœs.
Shifting his hands onto the back of Kai’s neck and entangling his fingers into his hair, he hummed in pleasure. “Really?” His sleepy voice cracked with emotion.
To show his devotion to those words, Kai enclosed the space between their lips in a heartbeat. Gentle with him as always, he supported his back and embraced him lovingly, leaving not a single unwanted touch upon him. Lucian melted into his arms almost instantaneously. It wasn’t until he pulled away to breathe that Kai pulled away. It wasn’t until he shifted his position that Kai shifted his position. It wasn’t until he spoke that Kai spoke.
Whispering into his ear, his voice collided against Kai’s eardrums like a beautiful melody. “You wanna give each other matching tattoos?”
“Huh?”
With his arms still wrapped around his shoulders and his thighs on either side of Kai’s legs, he leaned his head back and laughed to himself. Whatever he was thinking had to be good. Kai wished he could laugh for the same reason he was.
“Where do you want it?” Lucian asked, pulling his boyfriend's shirt off his shoulders to inspect the areas of placement that were available. “Right here, right here, orrrr
right here?” His fingertips land against the side of Kai’s neck with a flirtatious smirk displayed on his beautiful countenance. Kai couldn’t help but blush. Even though they’ve been dating for some time now, he couldn’t get used to how attractive Lucian’s facial features were.
Recpicating the same level of affection, Kai let his eyes purposefully linger on every attribute of his face that he found attractive. (Which were, well, all of them.) Once he was done staring at his lips for a good while, he allowed their eyes to interlock. “I dunno. Where do you wanna put it?”
He slid his fingers down his neck affectionately. “Riiiight here.”
When the final syllable popped off his tongue, he lowered his head and launched his teeth right into Kai’s neck. There wasn’t much blood at first; Actually, there was no blood at all until he finally warmed up enough to apply all the pressure he could in his jaw. And although it would sting like a bitch to any ordinary person, it hardly phased Kai. He giggled as he felt his boyfriend’s tongue working to clean the mess of red liquid up, rubbing his back so it wouldn’t become sore from the odd position. Lucian smiled against his pale skin as he finished up.
“See?” he bubbled, pulling away to reveal his blood-soaked teeth. Dabbing away the excess liquid on his lips with his sleeve, he continued on with his explanation. “Now all you gotta do is gimmie a matching one right here! Bite as hard as you can so it lasts forever!”
Kai’s eyebrows cocked upward from the mere suggestion. “I’m not gonna bite you as hard as I can, Lu.”
“Awh, why not?”
The answer was obvious but his face was tempting. So with a heavy sigh, Kai entertained this fantasy.
Lucian hadn’t realized he was shoved off Kai’s lap until his head cracked against the couch cushions. Disoriented, he let out a little whimper and resorted back to instinct, bracing for impact. When he peered upward, however, he saw the same old boyfriend who loved him. His tense muscles relaxed as he let out a soft laugh, embarrassed that he had been caught so off guard. Kai held his hands that were pinned above his head, sitting on his hips in order to adjust himself to reach his neck with no problem.
“Where do you want me to start? Your tummy? Your chest?” Kai sadistically sneered as he pulled out his ridged knife from his jacket, stroking the blade down his boyfriend’s tiny frame. “Ohh, I know what you want. You want me to slit your throat, huh? But I won’t be able to hear your pretty screams that way.”
Lucian couldn’t help but blush from his tone. He knew it better than anyone else. Butterflies fluttered around in his stomach from the thought, batting his eyelashes and grazing his tongue across his front teeth with a flirtatious smile. “That’s not what I want though
”
Lifting his freshly sharpened blade from his neck, Kai’s smirk peeled ear to ear. “Don’t gimmie that face, Lucian.”
The butterflies that infested his stomach bursted into fireworks of all shapes and colors when hearing his full name escape his lips. His face was bloodshot by the time he managed to get his words out. “What face? I’m not making a face.”
His airless laughter softened as Kai landed his fatal shot. Sinking his teeth deep into Lucian’s neck and savoring all the blood that gushed out, he returned the flirtatious remark. His tongue rubbed against the wound he created and delicately traced over the texture of his flesh, only for more blood to regenerate in seconds. Tears welled in the corners of Lucian’s eyes. Even though it felt like a mixture of heaven and hell at once, he made sure to voice his pleasure so that Kai understood he was doing a good job.
“It must taste good, huh?” he purred, stroking his raven-hair back to ensure it didn’t soak up any blood by accident. “I hope it does
”
Cradling Lucian’s waist, he didn’t say a word. His instincts begged him to move closer despite their bodies interlocking from the neck down. He knew better. Snuffing the feeling out like a little flame, he continued onward.
It was hard to pull away but when he did, his face was the color of the sun’s chromosphere. He wiped his mouth with the end of his shirt while admiring the damage he’d made on Lucian’s pretty skin. Every individual front tooth had managed to sink inside of him, leaving a sweet reddish-purple injury that bled profusely. It framed Lucian’s collarbones so well that he began to slip into the fantasy that it belonged there. Lucian was meant to carry the wound that bound them together.
Lucian was meant to be his.
“Your teeth feel good under my skin, sweetheart.” With shimmering eyes, Lucian planted both his index and middle finger in the gaping gash to presumably gather an approximate depth it had.
The pride Kai once inhibited completely melted into a puddle of humility. He covered his mouth sheepishly and giggled, taken aback by the sudden compliment. Lucian’s voice was in a perfect octave that rubbed him in all the right ways. “M-My teeth?”
One thing was certainly different about Kai’s teeth compared to an ordinary individual’s. Not only were they a perfect shade of white, straight as ever, and framed his handsome face well, but they also took the form of miniature daggers stuck in his gums. The most prominent feature of his mouth was his canine teeth. (Lucian’s favorite.) His canine teeth were sculpted beautifully along the rest of the row, sharp, dignified, and a bit unnaturally elongated. Maybe that’s why he could leave such harsh bites? Maybe that’s why Lucian struggled to fight back tears when he bit him? Either way, they must have been the source as to how he could land such a great blow. And the funny thing was, Lucian knew that wasn’t the hardest he could bite. He went easy on him.
“Mhm
” Lucian adoringly stroked his chest, his turquoise eyes inhabiting an unfamiliar glint within them. “It makes me wanna let you eat my insides.”

Maybe that’s not what he really wanted. No matter how much he loved Kai and how safe he felt within his arms, there was no way he could withhold throughout the torture that he forced his victims to endure. Tearing their limbs off when they’re still alive and eating them in front of their face is one of the tactics Lucian wasn’t so fond of, so it did distort his view of saying what he did. Kai, on the other hand, was in his complete own world, blushing profusely from the thought of Lucian’s suggestion.
“I couldn’t do thaaaat
” he swooned, aligning his fingertips down his skinny frame. “I like the way your insides are now. All intact and pretty
”
“They’d look so much prettier in your mouth.”
“Keep pushing it like that. I dare you.”
“Hehe, pushing what? I’m not pushing anything. I’m just saying.”
And that’s how Lucian ended up biting off more than he could chew. His neck, shoulders, back, and chest had been utterly mutilated by the time Kai moved onto his final course — The thighs. But by then, Lucian was in a daze from the amount of blood he lost. His pajamas were stained red, his shirt unbuttoned and his pants lowered in order for Kai to finish his masterpiece. Silent tears drifted from the corners of his eyes from the sheer amount of bittersweet pain it caused him. But even through sniffling and wiping them away, he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself from the pleasure he felt knowing Kai was the one doing it.
“Kai
” he murmured, his brain too foggy to form a coherent thought. “Last one, okay? Please
”
Figuring he was just sleepy, Kai peppered a few kisses on his delicate skin and interlocked their eyes spontaneously. A sly smile rose to his lips. “Only ‘cause you asked nicely.”
And with that, Kai made sure there wouldn’t be any misconceptions this year. Anyone that spared at glance at Lucian would know who he belonged to.

Halloween Special
Note: *looks at the date* *looks at you* this isn’t late at all!! TW: suggestive and a splash of violence :33
████████████████████
Prologue.
“I don’t th
think this is a good idea,” Sam stammered while grasping onto his forearm, only to be knocked off like a fly.
“Will you relax? It’s just a stupid corn maze.” Thomas snickered and launched his elbow into Sam’s fragile stomach, knocking the wind out of him instantaneously. He groaned in pain and hunched over, trailing behind due to the pain coursing through his body. “What, you think some escaped mental asylum patient is gonna be waiting out there for a bunch of teenagers to brutally murder? Huh? Actually, that would be kinda cool.”
“Knock it off, dumbass.” Evelyn hissed, pulling her silky hair back into a neat ponytail. She dodged every pit of mud that she came across with a disgusted expression arising on her face. Thomas thought it was pretty cute. “You’re lucky we even decided to come. I should be at home right now, making Violet tea for when she gets off work
” And from there, she went on to explain her schedule from the tiniest of details. Her friends moped around until her voice died off, standing in front of the maze’s entrance.
Finally speaking up after what felt like years of silence, Kai tugged against Evelyn’s sweater. She let out a spooked gasp and dusted off the ‘germs’ that his fingertips could possibly hold. He wasn’t offended in the slightest, simply tilting his head with a toothy grin. “Do you like spiders?” Of all the times Kai spoke, which was evidently rare when he was amongst the group, Evelyn couldn’t help but absolutely dread this moment the most. With wide eyes, she shook her head ‘no.’ That only caused his smile to lengthen. “Oh. You have one on your back.”
And with that, Evelyn was screeching at the top of her lungs. Both Sam and Thomas avoided taking on the task of swatting the spider away themselves, seeing as how they weren’t sure it was ‘poisonous.’ She would’ve asked Kai for help if she didn’t see how horrific his smile was. He was surely enjoying each and every second of this. Brat.
Ending the commotion by scooping the small creature into his palm, Carl hurriedly placed it onto the ground covered in orange and brown leaves. “There you go, little guy. You guys scared the shit out of him.”
The group all exchanged looks. None of them knew that Carl tagged along. It wasn’t exactly so much of a bad thing but at the same time, they knew both Thomas and his commentary together would be beyond horrific. Not only did they not know how to shut up but they also said the most out-of-pocket things that made the entire group look like a shit-show. It usually played out like this; One of them would say something awful, the other would say something worse, and Evelyn would start losing her mind. She tended to stop once Violet intervened but low and behold, she wasn’t accompanying him. This meant one of the other two would have to take on the job and trust, they would not. Sam would start crying and Kai would start laughing and they’d be kicked out of the maze for disturbing the peace before they could even explain what happened. Even if that was the future laid out for them, however, they marched inside and tried to make the best of the experience.
Out of the whole group, Kai was the most excited. He loved Halloween for the sole reason of getting to see gory and/or terrifying decorations laid out for the purpose of scaring innocent bystanders. That being said, he was most definitely disappointed whenever they ventured for five minutes and still came across nothing. No fake ghost, no zombie hands sticking out of the ground, no corpse with their intestines ripped out, nothing. And when Kai got bored, everyone was sure to know about it.
He started with an elongated sigh. “I like that. I like that. I like that too. I really like that right there. I like this. You see that? I like that too. I think I should come back here one day. Just kidding. I only go to fun places. Yeah, fun. Yeah, really, really, fun places that aren't just corn
thingies. Fun.”
“Yeah, yeah, alright. I don’t think you get to scold me on what’s fun and not, mister virgin.” Thomas sneered, his sapphire eyes lightening up with excitement.
Laughing alongside him, Carl tried his hardest to fit in. “Haha! Virgins, am I right?”
“Like you aren’t one yourself.” Evelyn hissed while folding her arms to her chest, rolling her ivy-green eyes. “Mia would never let someone like you knock her up.” It was sort of pathetic and pitiful to watch Carl try to laugh that one off. It was so pitiful that Evelyn decided to lock her attacks back onto the one who truly deserved it. “And you aren’t any better than him. You think you are, but you aren’t. The only reason I think anyone would get involved with the likes of you is the money your daddy brings in every day. You don’t have many other qualities other than that. You’re crude, you fall short appearance-wise, and your intelligence is the equivalent of a rock, so unless they’re seeing that paycheck, I wouldn’t see why else someone would ever sleep with you.”
Silence. Unbearable silence.
Thomas scoffed and shoved his hands in his coat pockets, his smile unfaltering despite her daggered words. “You can just say you’re a lesbian next time. Jeez. Anyway, I never said there were gonna be decorations. I just said ‘corn maze’ and you guys were up for it. Well
actually, I don’t know why you’re here, Evelyn.”
“Because Violet says it's good for me to get some fresh air every now and then. I wanted to take her advice.” Evelyn stuck her nose in the air and continually stormed down the dirt path, wanting nothing more than to leave now that she was in a sour mood. “Plus, someone had to watch you guys. Especially with Kai.”
Everyone spared a glance at Kai, who was totally tuned out of the conversation now that he wasn’t involved with it. His gold eyes gleamed toward the evening sky, watching as the sun gradually went lower and lower as time moved mercilessly forward. Evelyn’s point was proven even further once the boy decided it would be a good idea to slide into the corn stalk and break the rules of the maze. If he did that often enough, he would be off the map totally. Sam hurriedly yanked him backward and onto the trail, his fingers shaking nervously around his arm. Kai thought it was pretty cute to see a boy tremble like that.
“Kai, p-pluh
please don’t wander off like that!” Sam sputtered as he quickly retrieved his hand from around the feline-like boy’s body, absolutely petrified for his safety when seeing the glint in those gold irises.
“You scared?” Kai snickered, peering behind his shoulder. “Mmh. Looks like they want you to watch me.”
“Wh-...What?”
Pointing behind his figure, the ebony-haired boy giggled childishly again. When Sam turned around to see what he was referring to, he found that the group had already left them. He gasped and rushed over to their original position, his heart rattling in his chest like a snake. Thomas must have distracted Evelyn enough to get her to keep walking without checking if the two were following, leaving them stranded in the middle of nowhere with no map. Tears trickled down his cheeks as he thought of the endless possibilities that could occur now that they were alone together. Kai could almost smell his adrenaline.
“Are you gonna tell Riley when we go home?” Kai innocently asked, knowing damn well that he intended to gas him up enough to get Thomas in trouble. “I think we should.”
“Kai, we’re st-st
! Stranded!” Sam cried, suddenly latching himself onto the boy like a leech. He was taken aback by the sudden motion. “I just wan
na go h-h-h-home!”
Again, Kai was faced with the task of comforting someone. He gave him a few pats on the back and inched closer to him, his voice in a threatening tone rather than a consoling one. “I’ll get us out. Stop crying.” He couldn’t help it. The frustration of being unable to comfort him surfaced in his words.
Surprisingly enough, it seemed to work. Sam wiped away his tears and clenched onto Kai’s patched up jacket, trying to calm himself down the best he could without his girlfriend to help. Instead of shaking him off or pulling away, Kai simply thought of the boy as a lost puppy and continued on his merry way.
████████████████████
Carl Mason.
“Dude, are we just gonna let her run off like that?” Carl questioned. He subconsciously picked at his scabs underneath his sleeves while his eyes darted back and forth around his surroundings, finding himself going further and further into darkness. His remaining companion, Thomas, continued to march forward as if they hadn’t lost three members of their group in the horrendous series of twists and turns.
The conflict arose between the two whenever Thomas flat out told Evelyn that he thought her girlfriend was a whore. It was supposed to be somewhat of a joke but that didn’t seem to go over well with Evelyn herself. She slapped him across the face and stormed off into the foggy evening, leaving the two together with the map and keys to the car. It was a pretty dumb move altogether. Carl wouldn’t have enough guts to stand up to a guy like Thomas. He would’ve swallowed those insults down with a weak smile. Coward. He hated how much of a coward he was.
Answering his previous question, Thomas chuckled. “Yeah, she can freeze her ass off for all I care. It’s not like any of them have my car k
” His voice drifted into the abyss as he tapped his coat pocket. Carl’s stomach twisted into knots as he saw Thomas start to pat himself down, even investigating on the ground to see if he had dropped it. He had lost the keys.
“
Shit, dude. Shit!” Carl searched the muddy surface beneath his shoes in hopes of finding an easy fix to their situation, only to come up short. The keys were nowhere to be found. “Fuck! How did you fucking drop them?!”
Thomas’s pleasant face was unmoved. Somehow, he still looked just as attractive as he was before whenever he was anxious. “It’ll be fine, man. Just look over there and I’ll look over here. One of us will be able to find them. They haven’t been missing for long.”
And with that, the two were separated. Carl was unsure how that came to be, considering he only turned his back for a few minutes before returning to their original location, but figured that Thomas must’ve been pulling a prank on him. This is one of the many reasons why he scolded himself whenever he sucked up to a guy like that. Thomas always left him in the dirt because he knew that he’d spit it all back out and beg on his knees for attention again. It was stupid. He was stupid.
That wasn’t the main problem here. What he was really worried about was the fact that he had no way to contact anyone or get out of here. He could go back the way they came before, but he knew there would be a certain extent of land that he wouldn’t be able to remember. In other words, he was totally screwed. His body shivered as he tried his hardest to keep warm with the purple jacket resting on his shoulders, gazing up at the sky that dimmed with every passing second. Eventually, he would be left in the dark. He couldn’t let it get that bad.
“Thomas? Evelyn?” He called, having no other choice than to retrace his steps. “Sam? Kai? Dude, come on! Where the hell are you guys?! Everyone knows it’s stupid to get lost in a corn maze! Everyone knows it’s flat out dumb!”
No reply. Carl’s ginger curls dusted his nose as it blew in the wind, tangling into wild knots that he would be forced to brush out later. In a spur of desperation, he slid through the corn stalks to locate another path. In other words, he broke the rules.
Shortly after arriving on the dirt trail, he heard the sound of faint rustling. His eyes lit up in joy when believing it could be one of his friends finally stumbling onto his path. “Is that you, Thomas? Dude, stop playing around and come out!”
The rustling ceased. Carl found himself in an open patch of the maze, the corn stalks circling it as if to signify something of importance. The hood on his head flew to his shoulders when examining the environment. Heat built up on the back of his neck.
Once his gut feeling hit, he booked it back in the direction he came from, calling himself a coward with every step he took. There was nothing astray. He was just being paranoid. At least, that’s what he thought until he heard it.
Echoing throughout the evening, the ear-aching sound of a chainsaw reared up repeatedly. Carl spared one glance behind himself to see who was responsible for such a sudden change of atmosphere, seeing a masked figure in the shadows.
“HOLY SHIT!” Carl screeched, bolting as fast as his feet could carry him. “FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK!”
As all slashers do, his pursuer followed close behind. Carl continually broke the rules by cutting across the corn and tearing down stalks on the way, only angering the murderous person more it seemed. The chainsaw roared again as they took a break from chasing, knowing all too well that their victim wouldn’t be able to outrun them for much longer. They would be proven painfully correct by the time they started up again.
Carl fell to his knees and scurried into the brush, covering his mouth and nose while trying to regain the breath that escaped his lungs. He could hear the weapon from afar, scratching and picking at his sleeves when trying to calm himself down. It got to the point he tore open an old scab and made himself start profusely bleeding everywhere, throwing his composure off the roofs.
“Goddamnit,” he spat while holding his sleeve closely to the aged self-harm wound. He winced whenever he placed pressure on it, trying to prevent any further damage. It was far too late for any of that.
“Come on out, little bitch.” The feminine voice sneered, inching closer with every passing moment. Carl nearly passed out from the amount of fear built up inside him. “Let me fuck you with my chainsaw, hahah! I’ll be gentle, promise.”
Carl had a sudden spark of arousal swirl in his stomach. It was wrong. He knew it was wrong and yet he couldn’t help but feel inclined to give in like the coward he was. Even with the thought buried in the back of his mind, he still managed to keep his wits a little longer and continue hiding. The voice called for him again.
“I’ll give you three seconds to come out, cutie.”
That was his cue to surrender. Before she even started counting, he crawled out on his knees and his head lowered to the ground, hoping he could be cut some slack for at least obeying her orders. Whenever he locked eyes with her, however, he knew all too well why that voice sounded so familiar.
“Mia?” Carl gasped, his heart pounding harder than ever before. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
“I could ask you the same thing, dumbass.” Mia scoffed, lifting him up by grabbing the back of his jacket with one hand. “We shut down the corn maze this weekend. Thomas thought it would be funny if we gave you guys one last scare before Halloween was completely over. Look, babe. It’s all rubber.” She gripped the ‘blade’ and showed its flexibility with a proud smile. “And now I know you’ll just give up if a serial killer was really chasing you. Thanks for the reassurance.”
A lie formed on the tip of his tongue and left the chamber in an instant. “I only came out ‘cause I heard it was you, haha
”
“Uh-huh. Is that why you scratched at your arms so hard they’re basically falling off?” Mia sighed in disappointment, spotting the blood dripping off his bony fingers. He pulled away in shame. “I told you to quit doing that, mi amor. Come on. Let’s get back to the car and fix you up.”
Carl blushed heavily when Mia sunk her fingers deep within his ginger curls and shook his head around playfully as she always did. Her hands were calloused from working on cars all day, her nails worn down and stained up from oil. It was stupidly hot.
“Are you actually gonna fuck me with the chainsaw now?” Carl remarked with a sly smile, leaning into her embrace sloppily so she would hold his weight up.
“Carl, you’re a freak.” Mia playfully shoved him away, regaining her personal space. “Doggy or missionary?”
They both laughed hysterically and disappeared in the foggy direction of the exit.

Evelyn Anderson.
In a mixture of rage and anxiety, Evelyn decided to cool herself off by taking off her coat and letting the October air do the work. Her face was so hot it felt like she was going to blow. Thomas had no right to speak of her girlfriend that way, especially since he couldn’t hold one herself.
His voice rang through her mind like a church bell, hitting every sore spot violently. “Women aren’t smart enough to be doctors, y’know? I think Violet just wants to be one so she could wear a sexy nurse outfit all the time and-” He went on from there but it was so perverted that she couldn’t bear to repeat the lines in her head again. Instead, she continued to try and calm down by taking deep breaths. Violet always told her that was the best way to deal with her breakdowns. Deep breaths and positive thoughts.
Positive thoughts. There wasn’t much to choose from considering the situation she was in. Groaning and retying her ponytail for the fourth time in a minute, she tried her hardest to perfect it. Perfecting something always felt better even if she knew it was an obsessive compulsion.
Too crooked. Too short. Too long. Her hair shifted repeatedly as she redid it, eventually causing her anger to shift into utter chaos. Her shoes were too dirty. Her clothes were too wrinkled. Her skin was filthy. Thought after thought caused her hands to tremble. She couldn’t take it anymore. If she didn’t leave the corn maze right then and there, she was going to do something she’d regret.
Storming off with a squeaky whine, she tried her hardest not to yank out all of her gorgeous hair. But she couldn’t stop touching it. She twirled it around her fingers, perfected any tangle, even combing it out with her nails. Perfect it. She had to perfect it or she’d rip all her skin off and start again.
“Hate it,” she muttered while trying to locate where she was. “I hate it. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, I ha-!”
“Boo!”
Evelyn screamed on the top of her lungs, prepared to see a horrific monster prepared to mutilate and ruin her in seconds. Instead, she saw her beautiful girlfriend in the place of it. Her heart rate slowed dramatically as she let out a soft whine.
“Bloody hell, Violet. You scared me half to death
”
“Haha! That’s the point of Halloween!” Violet hummed, flaunting her syringe with bright pink liquid. Evelyn was quite used to the sight of her with medical syringes but wasn’t familiar with the outfit she wore now. It was a cute nurse outfit. Not a sexy one. With one thought forming after another, Evelyn finally understood what this meant.
With a giggle, she managed to forget all about her hair. “Haha
! You wished to scare me! That’s why you insisted I came here! Violet, you sneak!” She hugged her tightly, her smile shimmering like sunlight. Violet practically melted in her arms with a warm expression. She smelled like vanilla. “Aren’t you cold in that? Here, borrow my jacket.”
Violet’s eyes widened for a long while as she felt the sensation of Evelyn’s coat being placed on her shoulders. If there was one thing she learned about her girlfriend, it was that she didn’t particularly like to share. Not because she was selfish but because she feared that germs would easily spread by doing so. In this case, she trusted Violet enough not to infect her with twenty different diseases at once. And that alone made her feel as if she was on top of the world.
“Thank you.” She bubbled in the endearing moment, unable to comprehend how very special it was. “I was supposed to scare you a whole lot more but
I saw you were upset. Why?”
Her smile faded from the question. “I’ll give you one guess.”

Sam Vega.
Cold. All Sam could focus on was how cold he felt. He tried to explain this to Kai as he marched on through the wet stalks of corn without reason or care, knowing that the fact they were both drenched was the explanation as to why he felt this decrease of body temperature. Kai didn’t like that too much. And that’s how Sam found himself completely alone and soaking wet, knowing that Kai just got him more lost than anything.
Tears were his first, second, and last resort. There was nothing much else to do than walk around and hope to find something even remotely familiar. That was pretty hard to do after marching forward in no certain direction. Everything was becoming dark and foggier as the sun went down, leaving Sam completely stranded as he feared would happen. It was almost impossible not to cry at that point. In fact, he even began signing away his belongings’ rights off to loved ones in his head. It would go something like this; My cat belongs to Riley. My money belongs to Riley. My diaries belong to Riley. My clothes belong to Riley.
Listing these things off in his head, Sam found himself in a whirlpool of destruction. He began planning his funeral, his final letter, his last words, everything. Up until, well, he was interrupted by the sound of footsteps.
The world had entirely stopped at that moment. Turning his head gradually with his entire body vibrating, his breaths became sharp and shallow.
“H-H-
H-
” His words thinned every time he tried to bulk them up, his speech impediment becoming sickeningly worse due to his terror. “HELP ME! I’M GONNA DIEEEE!”
Before he could run, the assailant got a hold of him, making him squeal like a helpless piglet. They eventually fell to the ground despite the blow not being that forceful. It was only then that he realized who it was.
“Th-Thomas? Thomas!” Sam cried, shoving him off and watching as his face plummeted to the ground. Red liquid smeared on his hands from the touch, suddenly putting together that he was injured. His expensive coat was bloodied and muddy. “Wha
t ha-ha-ha-?”
Interrupting Sam’s stutter fit, he answered the question in a strained breath. “She’s coming
” He groaned, gripping onto his bleeding stomach. Blood spewed from his lips as he shivered from the breeze. “She got ev-everyone else
you gotta find the car keys and get help
!”
Tears rapidly fell from his face, his hand covering his mouth instinctively from trepidation. All he could do was watch as Thomas sputtered and gasped for oxygen, growing colder and colder. Sam choked on emotion.
“I-I can’t luh
luh
I can’t luh
I can’t leave you here! Come on! Get u-uh
p. Up!” Sam tugged on his limp body, the liquid from his eyes soaking into the fabric of his jacket. “Please get up. D-Don’t leave me by m
myself.”
“
Fuck you.” Thomas spat while flipping him off, laying his head on the ground entirely to signify his defeat. That’s when he noticed that the blood strongly smelled like strawberries. In other words, Thomas was faking all of it.
Jumping to his feet and kicking dirt into that asshole’s face, he let out a pathetic whimper and continued on his way. Thomas was still spitting out mud by the time he had completely disappeared into the misty atmosphere.
Sam subconsciously made himself as small as possible by scrunching up his arms toward his chest, his heart racing as he scanned the path for any sign of metallic keys. He tried to remember what they looked like to the best of his ability but all he could recall was the dumb beach boob keychain attached to it. If anything, he’d surely spot it if his eyes laid on that image again. He shuddered from the thought of it.
“Boobs,” he thought without realizing just how awful it sounded inside. “Boobs, boobs, boobs, boobs. Just look for the boobs. What kind of sicko makes a boob keychain anyway? And what sicko actually puts it on his car keys?! Besides, everyone should know smaller boobs are cuter than big ones.” His thoughts spiraled out of the contained circle it was once in, thinking of a certain someone when forming an opinion on the matter. He blushed heavily. “Way hotter.”
By the time he snapped back into reality, he had already been traveling for a couple minutes. The skyline grew darker and the stars sparkled above him, signifying he only had a little bit of time left before he wouldn’t be able to see anything at all. He could only hope that the others were alright - He shouldn’t have left their side in the first place.
“What if they already found the keys and left without me? What if they left me here on purpose? I should’ve known this was too good to be true. No one invites me to anything unless they get something in return.” Sam wiped the tears brewing in his eyes with his sleeve, praying that these thoughts were just him overthinking. But it was addictive to listen to. “Thomas probably wanted me gone so he could have Riley all to himself. I wouldn’t blame her if she took him up on it. I’m a fucking loser.”
Leaves crunched underneath his weight. When he lifted his foot to take another step forward, he heard leaves crinkle again. And again. And again. Meanwhile, he remained in place, wondering why his mind was playing tricks on him. It hit him whenever a giggle rang throughout his head. By the time his heel shifted to see what he was faced with, a knife was raised to his throat.
“Tell me why I shouldn’t kill you right now.”
Sam clenched his eyes shut, too afraid to lock eyes with the masked individual. “Be
be
cuh, cause, I-I-I
I
!” His stutter was a trainwreck due to the adrenaline running through his veins like an electric shock. Surprisingly enough, the murderer was nice enough to wait for him to finish. Not a lot of people did that. In fact, only one person did that. “
I have a-a guh
girlfriend that wa-wu-would miss me v
very much, sir!”
“Sir?”
Sweeping his emerald irises along the assailant’s figure, he repeated his title accordingly. “S-Sir
! Please don’t d-do this!”
The blade lowered from his neck’s flesh. “Okay, I won’t. Only ‘cause I know your girlfriend would miss you so very much that she’d kill herself without you.” She gushed, pulling the mysterious mask from her face to reveal she was none other than Riley herself. Her long ginger hair was tangled into several knots from being underneath the mask for so long, her pale skin glistening under the starlight. Sam practically fell to his knees in praise. “Baby, why’d you come out here without me in the first place? Y’know I don’t like you leaving my side.”
Sam blushed heavily. “I-I
I
won’t do it a-a
gain!”
“Again? Who knows if there will be an ‘again.’” Riley playfully pokes the tip of her blade at his tummy, knowing damn well that it turned him on more than freaked him out. “Go on,” she hinted with a mischievous grin. Sam knew all too well what she wanted. “Try to leave my side and I’ll show you what happens.”
“If y-you catch me, then what?” He asked, his hands shaking within each other’s hold. His heart thumped with a different kind of thrill. “You won’t k
ill me, right?”
Riley shrugged, pulling the mask back over her head. It was only then that Sam caught sight of its appearance; A typical blood-stained clown mask. Suddenly it made sense as to why she was wearing colorful polka-dots even though she hates stuff like that. He was unsure if it was fake blood sprayed across it or not, but he didn’t want to stay around long enough to find out.
“Killing you wouldn’t do any good.” She chirped like a pretty dove, her hand gripped tightly around her knife handle. “I’ll just teach you a lesson.”
████████████████████
Kai Miller.
Kai had been acquainted with darkness since the time he was born. Sleeping in a pitch-black basement for years definitely improved his night vision in the sense that he could still locate everything around him without blinking an eye. It was almost like he had a feline’s vision rather than a human, all the shapes and colors being prominent but blurred at the same time.
His nose turned a light shade of pink as he tried to keep warm, unable to create an idea as to how he could find the others. He figured that he might have to sleep in the maze until morning but considering the weather, he was unsure if he would even be able to survive that. He thought that ditching Sam would benefit him overall when trying to find an exit, but lo and behold, it didn’t in the slightest. He started to regret that decision quickly.
“I can’t deal with crybabies like that.” Kai thought to himself while blowing some hot air into his hands to warm up, wearing fingerless leather gloves. “Always complaining and making things harder. There’s nothing to even cry ab-!”
The sound of a hurling object swung right past Kai’s head and into the stalks. Whatever it was took down multiple cobs of corn, lodged into the ground. When Kai peered inside the dark vegetation to see what the object was, he was met with a sudden blow to his chest. He toppled backward and onto the muddy ground.
“Caught you.”
Kai recognized that voice from anywhere. “L-Lucian?!”
Pinning him down by his wrists and peering down at the frail boy through his ghostface mask, the boy let out a raspy ring of laughter. “Come on. Struggle some more.”
Lucian would most definitely not say that. In fact, Kai could hardly believe he would hold him down by his wrists like that. He knew how much that scared him whenever Kai did it, let alone doing it himself. The ebony-haired boy wriggled within his grip while trying to decipher whether or not this was his boyfriend or not. With tattered clothes, a ghostface mask, and a bloodied axe, he wondered if maybe this was all some sort of prank. He hoped to God it was.
“Cute. I like that face.” He snickered, lifting his weapon far above his head to crack against Kai’s skull. “Let me see it better.”
Panicking, Kai shoved the boy off with every atom of strength in his body, his breaths uneven and anxious. He scrambled onto his feet and darted down the muddy trail, cutting through the green stalks of corn while trying to keep his composure. That most definitely was Lucian. He saw his pretty eyes, heard his sweet voice, and yet he couldn’t help but release adrenaline into his veins. Lucian wouldn’t hurt him. He knew better than to think that.
In mid-thought, Kai slipped on the mud and landed on his side, completely snuffing the air out of his lungs. Surprisingly enough, Lucian was right on his tail.
“Don’t run from me, kitty.” Lucian bubbled. The ghostface mask mercilessly stared at him. “I wanna see your handsome face.”
“L-Lucian
” He whispered airlessly, inching away from him as quickly as possible. Only then did he feel Lucian’s fingernails dig into his shoulders, staring down at him like some sort of higher being.
Silence. Deadly, petrifying silence.
The mask sunk into the mud once Lucian pulled it from his head, showing the smeared dark makeup he wore underneath. Even if he didn’t have a smile drawn on him, it was evident he was proud of himself.
“I scared you, didn’t I?”
“Huh?”
Lucian fell to his knees and clasped Kai’s shivering hands, laughing hoarsely again. “I scared you! I scared you, I scared you~!”
That’s what this was all about. Shaking all the negative and horrific thoughts from mind, Kai was tremendously relieved now that he knew he was safe inside his boyfriend’s arms again. For a moment or two, he could’ve sworn that it was over.
Leaning into his arms with a playful scoff, Kai rubbed his icy cheeks against Lucian’s warm chest. “You got me real good, Lu. Don’t do it ever again.”
“Awh, but why? I thought you said that Billy Loomis was hot!”
Blushing profusely from the accusation, Kai’s jaw gaped wide open. “Y-Yeah, but-!”
Lucian planted his painted lips against Kai’s chilly ones, revitalizing him with warmth he didn’t know he was missing. They went at it for a minute or two before Lucian finally backed away, happy that he had smeared all his makeup all over Kai’s freckled face. Kai had absolutely no idea it had even happened, giggling sheepishly now that they pulled away from each other.
“
You’re the best slasher there is.” Kai purred, his sudden shift in tone evident for everyone to see. Lucian simply giggled and planted another kiss on his face.

Facade
Prompt: Detention
Ship: Lukai
Note: BABY TWINKIES!! tw: slight violence.
████████████████████
“Fucking freak.”
Laughter erupted in the cafeteria as the crowd watched a group of girls gathered around a circular table with a singular boy occupying it - Kai Miller. With ebony curls and sharp gold irises framing his round face, he sat in silence as they berated him.
“What? What’s wrong?” The ringleader, Lindsey Hall snorted with a horrific grin, her mindless minions laughing alongside her. “Oooh, he’s staring at me now! I’m really in for it! I’m shivering at the sight of it!” She snickered, grabbing another component of his lunch. His gaze burned holes into her skull. In spite of feeling threatened, she continued to attempt the act of making him feel small. “Are you hungry? Here, let me hel-!”
Before she could dump the bag of chips on his head and humiliate him in front of the whole school, his seat flew back onto the ground and his teeth sunk into her arm in the spur of a moment. Horrified shrieks filled the air as she struggled to get him off, falling backward onto a separate table and spilling ketchup down the front of her designer top. The red tint of the condiment blended perfectly with the blood dripping from her forearm.
And that’s how he ended up in an one hour detention after school every single day for a full week. Typically students got suspended for this sort of behavior but in consideration of Kai’s grades, the teachers figured he would be better off working on missing reading assignments instead. In total, he had about twenty pages; Front and back.
The first two days were complete misery. Kai sat in an isolated room with four other people including a bitchy teacher while scrubbing on a page for an hour, practically feeling the life being sucked out of him. The third day, however, was much different. There was a turn of events that he couldn’t have fathomed would take place in a school like this.
A boy - Not just any boy, a cute boy - sat at the desk next to him. He recognized him from the morning bus as he was always late without fail, hurriedly boarding the vehicle with a thousand thank you’s and a hundred sorry’s. Kai reminisced the day he was forced to share a seat with him after the bus was overcrowded that foggy morning, remembering just how good his cologne smelled. He was practically slapped in the face whenever he caught the familiar scent again.
With white silky hair pulled up in a ponytail and a seemingly flawless facial structure, he sighed heavily and began unpacking his bag to begin his work. Kai couldn’t help but peek over his shoulder to see what it was he was working on. Biology. Gross. No wonder he looked so miserable doing it. Shifting his sly eyes away whenever the boy’s head turned in his direction, he picked the pencil up with wobbly fingers.
Ten minutes pass then twenty, leading up to the point where Ms. Bitch stepped out of the room for a moment. The remaining kids inside the class were silent and continued doing their work, which made Kai less observant to the fact that the teacher was gone. That was until he heard the pen drop.
Under his spiked combat boot laid a pen with pastel colorings, glitter and cute patterns displayed upon the plastic. In other words, the complete opposite from the source stepping on it. Kai reached down to grab the writing utensil with a raised eyebrow only for his scrawny fingers to hit a warm surface. That boy’s hand.
“Sorry!” He sputtered with an embarrassed glint in his eye, scooping his pen up and trying to play it off as cutely as he could - Or maybe he wasn’t trying to be that cute. Maybe he just was. “I’m dumb, haha! Sorry to bother you!”
Kai had never heard him say anything other than an apology. With a sweet voice like that, he could be putting it to much greater use.
Remaining silent as per usual, Kai gifted him with a gentle smile. His hand reached his lips immediately when realizing his fangs could pop out at any given moment, flustered instantly. Apology boy didn’t seem to mind. Rather, he dusted himself off and continued playing it cool by interjecting himself into conversation. Perhaps it was his way of settling into the environment.
“We ride the same bus, right? What’s your name?” He hummed. Kai knew he could be intimidating to most people but that didn’t seem to be the case with apology boy here. It caught Kai off guard more than anything else.
“Kai.” His voice was monotone, scarily flat.
“Kai! Kai is a nice name,” he fidgeted with his sleeve before sitting back at his desk and resuming his workload. That should’ve been the end of the interaction. However, with someone as socially isolated like Kai, he didn’t pick up the hint.
Drilling his gaze into the side of his head, he blinked slowly to gather each detail of his pretty countenance. “You?”
“Huh?”
“What’s your name?”
“Oh! I’m so stupid. It’s Lucian!”
His name matched his face to a T. Kai couldn’t help but scoff a little when pondering how his parents could name him so well. “Lucian is a nice name.” He repeated the same saying as he used beforehand with a cheeky smile. Lucian caught the joke and let out a giggle.
Brief silence presumed as the clocked continually clicked dreadfully slow. Kai couldn’t help but feel inclined to continue the conversation - He just didn’t know how. This was the first time he ever wanted to talk with anyone in this damn place and he was going to blow it. He scowled at the thought. Luckily, Lucian seemed to be acquainted with making small talk.
“I don’t see you here often. What did you do?” Lucian bubbled, twirling his pen in between his fingers.
That was a perfect way of ruining his chances to make a friend. Kai gulped with a brief hesitation before initiating the reason to escape his lips. “
I bit some girl.”
Figuring he would hear radio silence, Kai prepared himself for the worst. However, he was instead met with a burst of laughter. “Lindsey Hall, right? I don’t blame you.”
“How
?” Kai’s voice drifted off as he fell victim to those gorgeously innocent eyes. His heart skip a beat or two as he viciously fought to escape his trance.
“I heard her complaining about it in photography class yesterday and I remember thinking, ‘good on that guy.’ And now I got to meet him, haha!” Lucian gushed with a playful gesture of his hand, nearly dropping the pen again. If anything, Kai learned that he was clumsy. “I bet she was really asking for it, huh?”
“Something like that.”
“Well, thanks for giving the world some justice, dude.”
Somehow this boy was getting cuter and cuter as time progressed. By the time he turned his head away again, Kai couldn’t help but blurt out something else to keep him in a talkative mood. “What about you? Why are you here?”
Lucian’s playful smirk dropped in a second. With a dreaded sigh, he admitted to his wrong-doings. “Tardy to first period. Sleeping in class. Forgetting homework. Hanging out in the library without a pass. Y’know, all the boring stuff.” Changing the subject oddly quick, Lucian pointed at Kai’s worksheet. “Hey, is that English homework from last month?”
Putting it like that shot a bullet through Kai’s chest. With an ashamed nod, he tried his best to cover up what he had written beforehand. Lucian reached over and grabbed his forearm, examining the questions.
“I can do these for you, if you want.” He offered. Kai could’ve sworn he was an angel at that moment. Before he could reply, he swept the worksheets off his desk and traded them for his completed biology homework to hide the fact he was doing all the work for him. In good measures too, as Ms. Bitchy came storming in with a bad attitude.
“Lucian Williams! You should know better than to talk in this detention hall!” She snapped, plopping into her chair two sizes too small for her fat ass. Kai held back a snicker when imagining how much pain she would feel if he placed a tack on the cushion. “Should I give your stepfather a call aga-?”
“N-No!” Lucian blurted with a terrified expression, lowering his head to avoid her stare. “I’m sorry, Ms. Price. It won’t happen again.”
Kai observed his saddened face with a frown. He thought boys usually looked so cute when they were upset, so why did his heart tug when seeing Lucian’s solemn expression?
████████████████████
“How far do you live from here, Kai?” Lucian questioned with his eyes renewed back into brightness. Both boys skipped down the stone staircase and made their way onto the sidewalk, walking shoulder to shoulder. Anyone from the outside could’ve figured they’ve known each other for years.
Adjusting the straps on his ancient book bag, Kai pondered his response for a short while before answering. “Evergreen Street. What about you?” He muttered the last part in fear that Lucian would reply with a location on the North side. North side residents commonly looked down upon the South side as they were seen as poor and/or up to no good - which wasn’t too far off from Kai’s reality. He just wished that Lucian didn’t have to know so soon.
Without skipping a beat, Lucian jumped on the case excitedly. “Wow, only a block down from my house! We should totally hang out sometime!”
Kai’s heart fluttered. It was like a dream come true. “Yeah
! M-Maybe we should exchange numbers
or something
”
With a nervous giggle, Lucian tapped the tip of his converse shoe onto the ground. “I could give you my house number but
”
“But?”
“Nothing!” He chirped, shaking the worry from his mind and swinging the bag off his back to retrieve a pen and paper. Once he managed to sloppily scribble the correct numbers across the lined page, he folded it up into a cute heart shaped origami figure and handed it to him. “Pretty neat, huh?”
Kai would cherish that piece of paper until the day he died. With a chuckle, he nodded.
The conversation from there was a blur. All he could think about was the heart-shaped piece of paper in his hands and Lucian’s sweet voice uttering kind things to him. He hadn’t experienced such bliss in all his life. It was addictive. Just so very addictive. He didn’t want it to come to an end. However, once they arrived at Lucian’s home, he knew it was much too late to prevent the departure.
“I’ll see you on the bus tomorrow, yeah?” Lucian gushed, hopping up his porch steps with a dim smile. Something was off in the way he moved, almost like he didn’t want to be too obnoxious. “Maybe I’ll just sleep in again so I can have detention with you tomorrow too, haha
!”
How wonderful that would be. Kai let out a ring of soft laughter and nodded firmly, gifting him with a friendly wave goodbye. Lucian repeated the gesture as he reached for the door handle.
“Bye
!”
“Bye.”
Watching him enter the house, Kai was a witness to Lucian’s face shifting a split second. One moment he was cheerful and the next

Christmas Special
Note: LUKAI ATTACK đŸ’„đŸ’„ (4/4) TW: none!
████████████████████
Kai didn’t mean to hurt him. He truly loved him. That’s why when he found himself hurting him, he couldn’t help but hate himself for it.
Christmas Day had finally arrived as they both hoped and everything was perfect. Kai gave Lucian all the presents he collected from over the year, including some possessions he stole from their past victims as a memoir, and watched every single one of his reactions like a TV show. They never got old. Whenever he was happy, he was on the moon. Whenever he was shocked, his heart went through the roof. Whenever he was excited, he felt as though his head was stuck in the clouds.
So how did it shift from such pure joy to this? Well, Kai might have been a bit too on the nose with one of his presents.
“Kaiii, this box is heavy!”
God. He could still remember how excited he was to see Lucian’s reaction without realizing how awful it would play out to be.
The paper was wrapped horribly all the way around since Kai had no help decorating it on his own. He placed a pretty bow on top to try and make things better, but in the end, it still looked God awful — Not that Lucian cared at all. He thought it was absolutely adorable that he tried his hardest because in the end, that’s all that really mattered. So whenever he peeled off the thin layer of sparky paper, he was eager to pop the lid off and see what his loving boyfriend had given him.
There was silence for a moment. Kai figured Lucian couldn’t tell what it was. At least, not until he reached inside and dug his fingers deep into a cold pool of blood. That wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was the words that came out of Kai’s mouth.
“Remember that puppy you said you wanted?”
A dead puppy. Kai had given him the puppy as a joke, thinking that Lucian would find some humor in it. After all, they had been gifting each other with mangled corpses and body parts this entire time! Hearts, eyeballs, fingers, ears — And a puppy to top it all off!
“
Y-You shouldn’t have!” Lucian stammered, placing the lid right back on the box where it was before.
Kai bubbled out another horrendous shot, totally unaware of the social cues he was giving him. “I hate dogs. I could never get you one, it’d just end up biting you anyway.”
Cruel. He didn’t mean to be, but sometimes his level of cruelty was too high for Lucian to withstand. Standing up and letting the blood drip down his fingers, his boyfriend couldn’t help but go into the bathroom and wash his hands off. That’s when Kai suddenly had the feeling that he’d done something to upset him. However, Lucian showed no signs of being hurt for the rest of the day. He must have slapped on some sort of mental bandaid and continued forward.
Dressing up in their new clothes, messing around with their new gadgets, and eating any candy they received, both Lucian and Kai had a blast together. It wasn’t until they were building a snowman together outside the house that the topic re-emerged again. As Kai plopped on the snowman’s arms, he heard the sound of laughter erupting behind him. When he turned, he found that the neighborhood children from around the block came to visit Lucian. A wave of jealousy overcame him for a moment, but only a moment. Then, he was overwhelmed with guilt.
Lucian was on his knees with a little puppy wiggling in his arms, laughing and smiling brighter than he had all day. Observing this scene, Kai was stunned by the amount of joy a little creature such as that brought him. Then, he was ashamed. He had gifted him a dead puppy earlier that morning despite his obvious love for them.
“Sorry, little guy! You can’t be over here!” Lucian gushed, scratching behind his ears with his long nails. “My boyfriend doesn’t really like puppies!”
God, he couldn’t let it go. Whenever they ate dinner, cuddled on the couch, watched TV, and laid in bed together, Kai had it on the back of his mind. The expression he made whenever he gave him that stupid box versus the laughter that escaped his throat whenever a puppy licked his cheek. He had to fix it.
Long after Lucian fell asleep, Kai went off on another journey. Not to kill, but to save a semi-cute mutt off the street and bring it home to his baby.
Downtown Woodlyn had a stray dog invasion, which is partly why Kai hated going down there. Dogs were filth in his eyes. Filth. He had never seen a dog in which his views shifted even in the slightest. Although, he never had a firm mental grasp as to why that was. In his mind, he was born this way; Hating and being scared of dogs. But deep within his heart, he knew all too well why he hated dogs so greatly.
“Fucking mutt!”
Kai’s eyes widened. Standing in the dark alley with a little blade equipped in his hand, all he could do was watch as an elderly man kicked a stray ball of fur out of his path. It wobbled and reapproached the man, hoping that maybe it could gain some affection, only to be kicked down again.
“Get the hell outta here!”
“Fucking dog!”
“Aye, I said get the hell outta here, you dirty little thing!”
“Stay downstairs, you bitch!”
The grip on the knife’s handle tightened. Kai watched intently as the man attempted to stomp out the life of the puppy, simply annoyed by its existence. Even if he hated dogs as badly as he did, Kai forced himself to swallow back his fear and take action.
For a guy who hurt helpless animals on Christmas Day, he sure did go without a fight. Kai stabbed him once and he cried like a little baby, falling to his knees and grabbing at his chest. One wound is all it took. His poor drinking habits and old age did the rest. He died from heart failure shortly after the original attack.
Then, there was the puppy trembling in the corner. Kai’s heart raced from the sight of its little face. He hated dogs. He truly hated dogs.
“
Y-You shouldn’t have!”
But he hated that more.
Hesitantly approaching the thing, he couldn’t help but clench up from the sight of it. It whimpered and laid on its back, showing off its little tummy to prove its submissiveness. Kai wasn’t very sure how dogs were supposed to act, so this sort of behavior freaked him out. He grabbed it and held it far away from himself, walking as if he were a zombie in a horror movie. Its tiny tail wagged so fast it looked like it was going to fly off.
“G-Good dog
” Kai murmured, still frightened by the simple fact he was touching one of these things. It stared back at him helplessly. “No biting
no biting
”
████████████████████
“Bunny
?” Kai whispered while entering the bedroom. He saw his boyfriend sleeping soundly in bed, his chest bouncing up and down slowly and his lips slightly parted. It was a precious sight to see. Approaching the bed with the horribly wrapped present in hand, he tried his hardest to wake him up without scaring him. “Luluuuuu.”
Setting it down on the mattress, Lucian sprung up from the sudden weight. “H-Huh?”
“There you are, sleepyhead.” He purred, setting the box on his lap before crawling into bed himself. “I got you another present.”
Rubbing his eyes with a soft groan, he shifted closer to Kai so that their thighs were touching. Electric shocks struck through his body from the warmth. “Mmh, another
? Why so late?”
Before he could answer, he was already peeling off the paper. Kai tensed up whenever he saw the box move a little, knowing that the puppy must be making a fuss inside. But from what he could tell, Lucian didn’t even notice it.
“I-I wanted
to say I’m sorry.”
“Sorry?” His sleepy voice flooded Kai’s ears and reverberated in his skull endlessly, causing his heart rate to spike. “Sorry for what, baby? You didn’t do anything.”
Grasping at his pajama pants, he clenched his eyes shut with a pained breath. “O-Open the present. I can’t explain it.”
Lucian blinked in disbelief for a second before following his commands and lifting the lid. Kai could only hold his breath and pray that his message got across. Words weren’t his forte, especially since he didn’t know what he was feeling half the time. Whenever he heard a gasp escape his lips, Kai peeled one eyelid open to see his expression. There, he saw an even brighter one than he did before. Blush erupted on his cheeks from the sight. Lucian was gorgeous whenever he smiled like that.
“Kai
!” He gushed airlessly, tears piling up in the corners of his eyes. “Kai, I love you so much! I love you, I love you, I love you!”
Again, Kai was horrible with social cues. He didn’t understand why his boyfriend was crying if he was truly happy. However, he embraced him with the same amount of pressure Lucian gave forth; At least until he saw the little creature’s head pop out of the box. Then he reeled away with a dreaded look of fear.
Lucian pulled the puppy out of its box and cradled it into his arms instinctively, running his fingers through its damp fur. Its tail wagged again, maybe even faster now that it was getting attention. “Oh, he’s beautiful, Kai!”
With a gulp, he agreed quietly. “Mhm. D-Do you like it?”
“Yes! Yes, I love him!”
“Make sure he doesn’t bite you.”
Suddenly that face made a whole lot more sense. Lucian held the puppy securely to ensure Kai wouldn’t be frightened, sniffling and giggling in between tears. “Y-You got him for me even though you don’t even l-like dogs
”
Nodding, Kai fidgeted with his pajamas anxiously and avoided any sort of contact with the creature. It was clear he was still extremely hesitant to get too close, afraid that it would hurt him somehow. That in itself made Lucian’s heart strings pull harder than ever. Kai was scared. And yet, he did this because he knew it would make Lucian happy. If that wasn’t love, he didn't know what was.
“Do
you wanna pet him?”
Kai peered at the little thing in his arms. It squirmed, rolling on its back and showing off its tummy in Lucian’s lap. Inching a bit closer, his gold eyes burn into him like a hawk. It remained in the same position. He lowered his hand down and rubbed his belly for a moment before hurriedly pulling away, wiggling in a mixture of excitement and fear.
Examining his boyfriend’s movements, Lucian understood it would take some more time for him to grow accustomed to it. “There you go! How was that?”
“It’s warm and fuzzy
”
“You wanna name him?”
Kai completely forgot that dogs receive names from their owners. Now that the pressure was placed on him, however, he couldn’t turn down the offer.
“Okay
how aboutâ€ŠëŻžì†Œ?
“Mi
so? Miso’s a cute name!
What does it mean?”
Recalling the expression he made whenever he first saw the canine, Kai couldn’t help but laugh to himself. “Smile. It means smile.”

Kai’s Birthday
Note: Happy birthday to you owa owa!! ok but seriously uh tw: child abuse, murder, and. lukai angst. thank you buh bye :3
████████████████████
October 1st, xxxx.
11:30 PM.
Kai didn’t mind the dark - Being alone was the true torture.
Footsteps echoed from upstairs and muffled voices blurred together into Kai’s mind up until the point where all he could do was cry. They were better off without him. All of them were. Nothing would change if he died or if he disappeared for good. That truth hurt more than the abuse he endured.
Staying inside the moldy, damp basement wasn’t easy. He practically lived beside the incinerator to keep his body heat regulated with nothing but a tattered blanket to sleep with. The muzzle that had been strapped on his face for months was so tight on his skull that when he laid down, it felt like someone was drilling into his head. But when he did finally fall asleep, it was with an empty stomach and a whole lot of pain coursing throughout his body.
That day was the same as any other.
Kai had finally fallen asleep for a few hours from the overwhelming exhaustion and hunger he struggled against until he was woken up to the sound of the basement door creaking open at the top of the stairwell. A bright light illuminated the blood and dried tears on his face. Expecting it to be his father in search of someone to let his anger out on, he clenched his eyes shut and rested his head against the wall. However, once the individual made it to the bottom of the stairs, he was greeted by an unexpected visitor.
“Kaiii?”
His eyes sprung open to see his little brother, Asa, standing before him. His dark unkempt hair strayed about as his pale skin showcased bruises and scabs identical to Kai’s. It was such a horrible sight to see on such a young child when knowing that these wounds were not from playing and having fun outside, but rather, from their parents’ neglect. Shaking the thought from mind, Kai’s eyes landed on the plastic plate he was holding.
Asa fell to his knees and gently moved the hair out of Kai’s face, evidently worried for him. “You got boo-boos
!”
Kai shamefully avoided eye contact with the little boy. He didn’t deserve to know the horrible things their father put him through. It would only scare him more than he already was. However, this doesn’t prevent him from giving his older brother a warm hug. Kai had forgotten what that felt like.
“You need to be more carefulll. What’s on your face?”
He shouldn’t be down here. He could get in trouble. He had to make him leave. Thinking these things were easier than saying them. Kai opened his mouth to speak but remembered how his teeth could possibly scare the boy, sealing his lips once more. The smell of food controlled his every move now that he saw how close it was in his grasp.
Asa tugged on the muzzle and fiddled with the straps, trying to make it come loose so his older brother could eat. Kai held him close as he did so, wanting nothing more than to protect him from the cruel world around them.
“Nghh, it won’t come off!”
A shadow from the top of the steps interrupted their one-sided conversation. Asa fell onto Kai’s lap as he saw their older brother, his tiny frame trembling in his grasp.
Daiki’s voice struck them like a lightning bolt. “Asa, what are you doing down there?” His tone could cut through the thick tension that surrounded them. When he received silence as a reply, Daiki began to journey down the steps. Kai grabbed his little brother and shielded him with his body, preparing himself to do whatever it took to protect him.
“Kai, he’ll hurt you again!” Asa whimpered softly, grasping his brother’s shirt from behind. “He’ll hurt you!”
There wasn’t any time left to change plans. Once Daiki’s foot landed on the bottom step, Kai rose from the ground and guarded the little boy. It was amusing to watch such a bloodthirsty predator protecting something that would be its prey.
“Daiki, he hasn’t eaten in so long! I-I just wanted to help him!”
“Get your ass over here.”
Asa’s big round eyes fill with tears. He tried to step forward but Kai rested his hand against his chest in a command to stand their ground. Obeying his brother’s wishes, Asa hides behind his figure again.
Rage bubbled up in his chest from the sight. “You fucking brat! Don’t think ‘cause you’re hiding behind that thing I won’t smash your fucking teeth in!”
The ‘thing’ he referred to was Kai. To him and the other members of the family, Kai did not have a name. He wasn’t worthy of one, rather, an inanimate object that had no purpose in this world. Asa didn’t see him that way. With a mind so innocent as his, he wanted to cater to Kai’s needs. That would all change in a matter of one night.
After being ignored, Daiki took another step closer. This prompted Kai to lunge forward and tackle the older boy, knocking him to the floor with a hard collision. Asa let out a gasp of horror as he observed the scene play out, having little to no idea what Kai was capable of doing - Having no idea the reason why Kai was muzzled and locked away in the basement.
“I’ll fucking kill you.” Kai sneered with a horrific smile on his face, resting the hand-made pocket knife against his elder brother’s throat. If it weren’t for the muzzle, his teeth would’ve been sunk into his flesh years ago.
Daiki fought against his grasp and wailed for his mother at the top of his lungs, knowing that Kai was sure to keep his word if given a second or two longer. As he attempted to escape, Kai beat the ever-living shit out of him, fracturing his nose and ripping his fingernails deep into his face. Asa watched in absolute dread with beads of sweat and tears streaming down his face.
“K-Kai, stop
!” He whimpered, hovering over his brothers in hopes he could cease the commotion. When he saw Daiki’s massacred face, however, he let out a scream of hysteria. “KAI, STOP IT! STOP IT!”
Hearing the desperation embedded into his little brother’s voice, Kai broke away from his violent tendencies. His neck shifted over slowly to see the look on Asa’s face. Terror. Pure and unfiltered terror was displayed on his round face just as it was for all the others. Kai felt pain when seeing this for the very first time. He loved his little brother. He didn’t want to scare him.
Before he could assure him that everything was fine, their mother bolted down the stairs to investigate the screaming. When she saw Daiki’s bloody face and Asa’s horrified expression, she immediately panicked. “OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD, LET THEM GO! LET THEM GO!”
Even his own mother was too scared to approach him. Kai stepped away from the motionless body of his older brother and watched as Asa ran past him, into their mother’s arms.
“I didn’t mean to
” Kai muttered while gazing at his little brother fondly. “
scare you, Asa. I
I love you
”
Asa doesn’t say a word, tripping over his own feet to the top of the stairwell. After that day, he never visited Kai again.
████████████████████
October 1st, xxxx.
8:36 PM.
“Kai, can I hug you?”
Snapping out of the daydream, Kai’s golden eyes widen. He hadn’t realized he’d been staring into space for a solid minute when he was supposed to be helping his boyfriend dismember their last victim. He brushed off the offer and went back to work with a faint smile appearing on his lips. “You’ll get all bloody.”
Lucian frowned and dropped his axe, creating a loud cluttering sound against the pavement, before crawling over. It was funny to watch him traveling on his hands and knees but absolutely flustering to have his face inches away from his own. Kai giggled and dodged eye contact unlike usual. “Whaaat?” He chuckled aimlessly, unable to breathe from the pure amount of adrenaline coursing through his body.
With furrowed eyebrows, Lucian backed away and sat with his hands folded on his thighs. It was obvious he was suspicious about something but Kai didn’t understand why. Were his feelings really that noticeable or was Lucian just good at picking things up? Maybe a mixture of both? He had no clue.
“I’ll get all bloody? Really? Kai, we’re literally dissecting someone right now. What do you mean I’ll get bloody? I already am, silly!” Lucian bubbled with an undertone of sincerity. He understood the gravity of the situation. “It’s okay if you don’t want a hug. Don’t feel bad about saying no.”
“What?!” Kai stammered, his jaw dropping at the suggestion. “I wanna hug! I do! Lulu, please gimmie one!” Hesitating, his boyfriend examined his face thoroughly. Kai couldn’t last another minute waiting. Instead, he lurched forward and initiated the hug himself, holding Lucian securely. As he mentioned before, more blood was mashed into his clothes, but he didn’t seem to mind. “I always want a hug from you
”
Even after hearing it, Lucian still felt something was off. He rested his fingers inside Kai’s curls, rubbing his head gently. That gut feeling wouldn’t shake. “It’s getting late. You wanna start heading home?”
There was a yearning for it just a bit. He wanted to go home and take a nice bath to wash away all of the painful thoughts he’s had throughout the day. Then again, he was having such fun with Lucian before all of this and to just throw that all away for some worthless pity party made him sick.
He simply pulled him back into the embrace they once shared and said nothing. That alone spoke volumes to Lucian. He shifted himself into Kai’s lap and wrapped his legs around his waist, alongside his arms placed on his shoulders to play with his hair. Kai felt a hundred times better than he did before. Physical affection was the cure to all his problems - Or so it felt.
“When we get home,” Lucian hummed in a pleasant tone, “we can take a bubble bath. I’ll put extra, extra, extra bubbles in this time if you want. And I’ll brush out your hair for you too.”
Kai melted at the suggestion. It sounded better than heaven at this point. However, he was unable to respond considering the fact he had his face buried in Lucian’s chest to listen to his steady heartbeat. A melody so beautiful, he could hardly believe in its existence.
Combing back his hair with his palm, Lucian continued with the plan. “I’ll let you stay up really late tonight too. We can just eat snacks and watch movies! Whatever movies you want! Does that sound good?”
Every last bit of it did. And yet, Kai still felt that black hole eating away at him, craving more. What else could he have? What else could make it better? Well, it was a simple answer. He wanted Lucian all to himself.
With hot pink dust covering his face, Kai nodded. “Mhmmm.”
“Okay! Let's hide the body, then-!”
“No.”
Lucian pulled away from his embrace to look him in the eyes. His golden irises were muted, completely hollow, and glossy. He recognized this to be his expression of obsession. Whenever he saw a boy he wanted to pick apart and play with, his eyes looked the way they did now. It sent a chill down Lucian’s spine but did not frighten him. He knew better than to feel scared.
With a ring of laughter, he tilted his head. “What? Why not?”
His dark hair fell into his face as he leaned closer to Lucian’s, smiling sadistically. “I want everyone to see what we did together
” His voice wavered into seduction as he caressed his boyfriend’s pale skin. “Don’t you think that’ll be so romantic?”
Lucian hummed in pleasure. “
Yeah. I like that idea.”
A thick tension sprung into action during the period of silence between the two. Kai cradled his boyfriend’s hips and waited for the break, seeing the spark he created in his eyes. As suspected, Lucian lowered his head and interlocked their lips together, resting his hands on his shoulders. Once the friction was created, there was no way of stopping it. One kiss led to another, then another, then to Kai leaving love bites on Lucian’s neck. This caught Lucian off guard, considering he was typically the one to leave any sort of marks on Kai, but he wasn’t displeased with it. He figured that Kai was just too nervous to do it before.
“Haha, that tickles!” Lucian bubbled, despite having Kai’s teeth gnawing at his skin. He knew that his boyfriend could easily start hurting him - or even worse, rip out his throat - but trusted him with his whole being not to. He loved him more than life itself. There was no way he would be able to hold such worries in the back of his mind. Blood trickled down his collarbone as a result of Kai having gone a bit too deep with one of the bites. Lucian didn’t mind but the same couldn’t be said about Kai himself. He lurched back in horror while trying to dab the blood up with his sleeve, panicking silently. Lucian sighed. He was just too cute.
“It doesn’t hurt, does it? I’m so sorry!”
“You’re fine, baby. Why do you always worry so much?”
Kai thought about Asa’s face.
Ashamed, he reeled back and released Lucian from his grasp entirely. He fucked up again. First it was biting his tongue when they kissed, then it was cutting his cheek when they were roughhousing, and now this? Why couldn’t he control himself? Why did he keep hurting him? And why did he seem so okay with all of it?
It didn’t take a genius to see the wheels turning in Kai’s head. Lucian knew that he was genuinely upset about what just happened and it made him feel awful. Kai was always tip-toeing around initiating any sort of physical affection because of this sole reason. He didn’t want to accidentally hurt him. Even if it was miniscule, even if it didn’t bother him, Kai felt like a complete monster for it. That’s why Lucian always made the first move - Because things like this always seemed to happen whenever Kai did.
“Don’t make that face
” Lucian pulled him close for a hug. “You’re a good boy. You didn’t do anything wrong. Let’s go home.”
“
Okay.” Kai whispered in a mixture of disappointment and humiliation.
████████████████████
October 1st, xxxx.
10:08 PM.
After taking a bubble bath and having Lucian comb out his curls, Kai felt better about what happened. He examined the wound on his collarbone at least a hundred times before convincing himself that it wasn’t a big deal, kissing it constantly to make it up to him. The other vampire kisses he left on him, however, filled him with pride. He successfully gave Lucian pretty lovebites for everyone to see. Now no one could make the mistake of thinking he was single.
“Are you looking at them again?” Lucian giggled, his eyes still focused on the TV screen. Without even sparing a glance he knew that Kai was too busy observing his art pieces rather than watching the movie they put on. He was correct in assuming so.
Kai blushed heavily and averted his gaze elsewhere. “N-No. I was just looking at you, silly.”
Pulling up his snowy strands of hair into a messy bun, the boy prominently made the marks more visible to tease his adorable boyfriend. Kai knew all too well what he was up to. He pouted and furrowed his eyebrows.
“Can you see them better like that?”
“Lucian
”
“That was your present for me
” He hummed, getting off the couch and marching into the darkness. “But now I have to get my presents for you!”
Confused, Kai tilted his head. He didn’t understand why he would have any sort of prize prepared for him. It wasn’t a special day or anything, was it? Not their anniversary, not Valentine’s Day, not Halloween yet

Suddenly it hit him. Today was October 1st. Today was his fifteenth birthday.
As he made this realization, Lucian came springing out of the darkness with a basket full of wrapped-up presents for him; Including a cake he held in the opposing hand. “Happy birthday, Kaiiii!” Seeing how astonished he appeared to be, Lucian bursted into enthusiastic laughter. “I was gonna give them to you earlier, but it seemed like you totally forgot it was your birthday again! I didn’t wanna ruin our plans of going out on a date tonight, so I just waited to get home!”
Kai was practically shaking in excitement. “These are all for me? Really?!”
Setting the basket and cake on the coffee table, Lucian nodded rapidly. “Yep! All for you! I just can’t believe you forgot again this year
”
Opening the box of cake, Lucian revealed the decorative icing he crafted into the top. It read out, ‘Happy 15th Birthday, Kai!’ with gorgeous handwriting and flowers surrounding it. Kai was stunned to see it was Lucian’s handwriting, meaning that he baked this cake. The wheels on his head turned for just a moment before he launched himself into Lucian’s arms.
“You made this for me?!” Kai’s voice squeaked out with pure joy, his golden irises shimmering. “Thank you so much! I-I don’t even know what to say!”
Lucian placed a warm kiss on his nose. “You spoil me for my birthday every year, it’s only fair I do the same! Now, let’s get these candles on the cake!”
Watching as his boyfriend placed each candle deliberately inside the cake’s interior, another realization hit him. This was the first cake he’s ever had dedicated to his birthday. Even when dating Lucian, they never got him a full-blown cake - They ‘went out to eat’ instead. So this would mark the first time anything like this happened to him.
Once he was finished lighting each one up, Lucian scooted close to Kai and grabbed his hand. “You ready?”
“Huh? For what?”
“For me to sing, silly!”
Kai had forgotten that part of a birthday cake tradition. With a bright smile, he said the saddest thing Lucian had heard all year. “O-Okay! Lucian, I really mean it when I say thank you. I-I’ve never had a birthday cake before!”
Those words hit him like a ton of bricks. Lucian blinked aimlessly for a few seconds before feeling his heart utterly shatter, seeing how bright Kai’s eyes were for such a simple gesture. He felt selfish. Both boys had tragic lives before meeting each other, but Lucian had at least experienced what love felt like for a short while. As a child, he could remember his family sitting around the table, singing him happy birthday and cheerfully clapping once he successfully blew out the candles. But Kai never had that opportunity. Kai never had a family that loved him. Even as an innocent child, he never felt loved at all.
“Lucian
?” Kai whispered, his tone laced with joyful eagerness. Lucian snapped out of his thoughts and gave him a warm smile. “Are you gonna do it now?”
“Yeah! Yeah, ready?”
He took a deep breath, staring at the flames dancing around on top of the wax. Fifteen years have passed and not a single person has truly recognized his birthday. Lucian could imagine his sweet little Kai watching as all the other children he knew celebrated their birthdays, knowing that a day dedicated to him would never come - Knowing that no one cared enough to celebrate it with him.
“Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, dear Kai! Happy birthday to you!”
Kai blew out all the candles with one go, having prepared his entire life to do so. He cheered for himself when he saw his accomplishment, turning to Lucian to see how impressed he was. Instead, he saw tears trickling down his cheeks.
“Lucian? Lucian, what’s wro-?”
Lucian pulled him into the tightest embrace he had ever given, burying his face into Kai’s shoulder. “I’m so sorry th-they treated you that way! Everyone deserves a b-birthday
everyone!”
He couldn’t contain himself anymore. Breaking down within the birthday boy’s arms, Lucian sobbed for the child who had experienced such horrific neglect. Not a single gift, not a single hug and kiss, not even a birthday cake. Who could hurt such a beautiful child by doing something like that?
Kai stroked his hair and held him close to his chest, seeing every pretty tear roll from his cheeks. Every teardrop he shed for him had already occurred in the past as little Kai cried for himself every year, wondering if he would ever see the day where he’d be recognized as a human being. Today was finally the day. It felt almost too good to be true.
“Lucian
” He sighed lovingly, wiping the tears from his cheeks. “Don’t cry
it doesn’t matter if I’ve had a birthday cake before, 'cause I have you now. That’s all that really matters to me.” Unable to respond, Lucian choked up a few more tears. Kai kissed his forehead before resting his own on it, holding his hands gently. “You’re the best birthday gift I could ever ask for. I love you, Lucian.”
Laughing through his tears, Lucian closed his eyes and imagined himself holding onto the little Kai that had never felt any sort of love before. “I love you too, Kai
more than anything.”

Blood stained the sage green moss as he feasted mercilessly on a lost villager, sinking his teeth deep within the tender flesh of his neck. There was screaming for a moment before a bloodcurdling gurgle could be heard from deep within the man’s neck, his eyes glossy from the tears he let out before he died. None of which Kai cared about of course. All he wanted was to feel the sensation of steaming blood glistening down his throat and taste the sweet metallic taste dancing on his tongue. His eyelids fluttered shut as he enjoyed every second of his meal, totally lost in his pleasure to remember the fact he brought along Lucian. He didn’t even think about it until he heard a sudden gasp from behind.
“Kaaiii, what are you doing?”
There wasn’t much to explain. The answer was set out right in front of him. Kai reeled back from the wound and held the remaining blood in his mouth, his cheeks puffing up like a chipmunk.
Lucian dropped to his knees and pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket, dabbing away the royal ruby red liquid from his lover’s face. He should’ve known better than to let him wander off by himself. Now there would be another hissy-fit from the humans about someone going missing again. Kai could care less though. If he was hungry, he was going to eat. That’s all there is to it.
“You can’t just kill some guy who got lost! You’ll get in trouble-!”
Without a moment of reconsideration, Kai playfully connected their lips together in the middle of him speaking. Before Lucian could retaliate by pulling away, he released all the excess blood in his mouth to share with him. Stunned by this, Lucian backed away and covered his mouth with his hands, on the verge of laughter.
“What kinda trouble? Keep going, I’m listening.” Kai sneered, holding his head high with pride.
A giggle erupted from Lucian’s throat before he lowered his hands to the ground and shifted himself practically on top of him. If the blood stains on Kai’s cheeks didn’t already make him look red, the blush sure did. That is, if he could blush. All he felt was emotional heat, not physical.
Lucian seductively batted his eyelashes and moved to realign their lips again, displaying an expression of desire Kai found himself pleasantly familiar with. “C’mere and let me show you what I mean

Valentine’s Day Special
(what do you mean its late. no its not. today is REAL valentines day silly!! kai is owned by @ruggies-treasure :3)
TW: Gore, cannibalism.
“PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T! I HAVE A FAMILY!”
“Do you hear that? He has a family,” Lucian snickered with a dreamy gleam in his eyes.
His lover seemed to show no remorse as he grinned ear to ear with his sharp, piercing teeth. “That’s a first, huh? Never heard that before.”
The man sobbed as he felt the blade press against his throat even tighter, closing his eyes in trepidation of feeling his flesh break open. Responsible for this was a boy nearly half the size of him, cute freckles painted on his doll-like face and a smile as sweet as candy. Not in a million years would he have guessed he’d be in a back alley with his neck on the verge of splitting because he had become too desperate on Valentine’s Day. His wife had left him after he beat her for the third time and he was feeling antsy. Of course he wanted to spend the holiday dedicated to love with someone he could easily pleasure himself with, so he went searching for a date. He came across the boy in front of him - Lucian was his name - that fit the bill entirely. He was obedient, innocent, and had the most amazing angelic look going for him. It wasn’t like he knew his age; Although he could have guessed it with those adorable doe eyes gazing up at him. So why, did he wonder, was he put on death row because he wanted to have a little fun? He didn’t know.
“Tell me what you called him again?” Kai slid the blade playfully down his chest, giggling in his ear like a maniac. “Tell me before I rip your organs out while you’re still alive,” he lets out an airy whisper.
The man wailed like an infant in response. If only he had his mother around to save him. “I-I SAID HE WAS HOT, THAT’S ALL! I DIDN’T H-HURT HIM! NOTHING EVEN HAPPENED-!”
“You offered him money if he slept with you, right? Just for tonight, just for tonight!” His laughter grew louder while repeating the same words he had spewed out before. He could feel his heart pounding within his disgustingly large chest. “That’s what you said. So, what if, just for tonight, we torture you until you bleed to death?”
Lucian licked the ice cream Kai had gifted him earlier that night, trying to ensure it did not melt onto his hands. The taste of chocolate was sweet and savory, but not as good as this predator’s blood would be. His eyes remained glued to Kai’s blade as he began to stab into the man’s chest, watching as all of the red liquid poured out like warm cherry sauce. He let out another dreamy sigh. His boyfriend was simply the cutest when he was playing like this.
The man’s screams were cut short as Kai cut out his tongue in the matter of seconds, ripping into his face like there was no tomorrow. Lucian let out a ring of laughter before skipping over toward the scene to watch it unfold up close.
“His eyes! Get his eyes!” Lucian cheered like a cheerleader on a football team, his hands rising in the air with a jump. His ice cream splashed onto his cheek messily as he choked on more laughter. “You’re so good at this. I wish I could be as good as you.”
Kai shrugged, his head tilted upward as he smiled proudly. “This is nothing. I’d do plenty of more for you anyway.”
Blush erupted on his face as he wiggled his foot flusteredly. “Kai
”
Letting out a final breath, the man’s body completely fell limp. While he would’ve normally been bummed that he died so soon, Kai couldn’t help but to release the corpse and approach his boyfriend instead. Their personal bubbles popped within seconds of coming remotely close to each other again, embracing tightly. Lucian let out a sigh of relief while feeling the boy in his arms again. It was Valentine’s Day, not a day where he wanted Kai to get stressed out about protecting him from creeps like that. Luckily his good mood returned before it could ruin their Valentine date, it might have even improved.
Kai pulled away to gift Lucian a kiss on his cheek, stroking his hair softly. “Are you still hungry? You could
” His voice drifted off with an apparent smirk.
Lucian understood what he was asking in the matter of seconds. “You’re spoiling me! You can have it
” There was a pause as the black-haired boy released him from his grasp. It wasn’t until he fell to his knees and began carving a hole in the man’s chest that Lucian knew what he was doing. His face heated with blush once more. “Kai! C’mon, you’re gonna get all messy!”
“It’s fine,” he hummed, his hands feeling inside the open wound he had created. Blood gushed out like a fountain as he reached in further, his hand covered in a steamy, warm liquid. “And
there! Haha, gotcha!”
Tilting his head slightly, the white-haired boy approached the corpse with wide eyes. His boyfriend held what seemed to be an organ of some sort in his hands while seductively gazing at his face. If Lucian’s face wasn’t red then, it was now.
He regained his balance and stood up, crushing the man’s ribs under his heavy boots while reproaching his boyfriend. Once they had come into a personal space invading distance of each other, Kai revealed his short-noticed Valentine gift lodged in his hand. A smile crept to his face at the sight of it.
“Will you be mine, Lucian?”
“You’re so silly
” He mumbled while tucking his silky white hair behind his ear, preparing to retrieve the bloody pulp from his palms. It was a freshly beaten heart - One of his favorite parts of the corpse. It was adorable that he would remember something as minor as that about him. “Of course I’ll be yours.”
His ice cream fell to the ground as he took the organ into his hands with Kai, giggling at how ironic it was to be sharing this on Valentine’s Day. Kai smiled too. Not because he thought it was funny, but because Lucian did.
-
After the fiasco with that creep hitting on his boyfriend, Kai was worn out flat. He laid in bed with his arms and legs spread as far as they could go, trying to settle his body into the mattress so that he could fall asleep peacefully that night. However, with the images of Lucian’s horror-struck face fresh in his mind, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to sleep. It all depended on how long Lucian stayed awake and attempted to put him to bed.
Seriously though. What jerk hits on a fourteen year old boy on Valentine’s Day? It would have been one thing if Lucian was asking for that kind of attention, but all he was doing was sitting on a bench and eating ice cream. It didn’t help that he was just getting used to wearing clothes that showed even the slightest amount of skin. Usually he would have covered himself up head to toe in an attempt for people like that not to look at him. So instinctively, Kai flipped out. He would’ve flipped out normally if he saw that happen, but it was completely uncalled for that time. Lucian was too fragile to be hit on by some drunk predator.
He sighed, wishing he would have kept the man alive longer so he could rip out every individual tooth from his jaw. He would have loved to hear the sound of each one popping out of place as the man screamed in agony.
“Kaiiii, are you sleepy?”
That was an even better sound. Wiping the expression full of bloodlust off his face, Kai turned to see Lucian standing beside the mattress impatiently. He had finished his shower relatively quickly as he usually does, throwing on what looked to be Kai’s pajamas. A smile arose on his face. He was so precious.
“A little
” He sat up and moved over, creating space for the both of them to fit. It didn’t take much, as both of them were slimmer than usual, Lucian sliding in beside him with a soft whine. He didn’t look too cheerful. Kai’s heart rate spiked from even the slightest amount of discontent coming from him. “Are you okay?”
Lucian shrugged. “I dunno
”
He wasn’t okay. Was it because of that man earlier? Kai sprung into action in a matter of seconds. “What’s the matter?”
Instead of continuing the chase or making his boyfriend work for an explanation, Lucian figured he’d let him have it easy. He pulled his knees close to his chest with another sigh, hiding his face from the worried boy. “I feel like
like I should’ve gotten you more today. I know I got you a few presents but
compared to what you did for me
” His voice drifted off, but the message was as clear as day.
It came as a shock. Kai would have never guessed that he was insecure about something as silly as that. He loved his Valentine gifts! They weren’t from a cheap dollar store or anything remotely lazy, but rather filled to the brim with thought and love. He expected that from Lucian though. No matter what the situation, he remained focused on fulfilling Kai’s desires entirely. It was a silly quirk of his - a silly quirk that could quickly become an issue.
Kai patted his head with an adoring smile. “Maybe you did miss something
”
His entire world felt like it was going to collapse. Lucian’s eyes desperately shot up to his face with a wavering look of horror. His mind went one hundred miles per second, petrified of what this could be. Did he mess up the flowers? The candy? The teddy bear? Or maybe he simply wasn’t acting up to par? He should’ve been more affectionate today - That was it. Believing this to be true the second his brain came up with it, Lucian grasped onto his boyfriend’s shirt like a scared child. He needed to show how much he loved him, right? That’s what it was.
Kai rolled his eyes playfully, practically seeing the wheels turning in Lucian’s head. “I can’t believe you forgot.”
“Wh-What? What is it?!”
He was absolutely petrified of what this could be. That is until Kai grasped the back of his head and leveled it to his face, interlocking their lips in the matter of seconds. Lucian’s eyes fluttered shut in pleasure. They held the kiss out for a couple of seconds before the white-haired boy reeled back, tasting blood leaking from his tongue. Now it was Kai’s turn to be terrified.
“Not again
” He whined, nearly flying off the bed to retrieve a medical kit. “I’m sorr-!”
However, he was stopped mid-journey by Lucian grasping his arm and yanking it back. “No, no, come back! Look, it tastes good,” he giggled with a devilish grin, swallowing the drops of blood that appeared on the tip of his tongue. “I want you to taste some.”
Kai’s face flared up to the color of a summer rose. While he attempted to stumble out another sentence, Lucian caressed his cheeks and pulled him in for another round, this time sharing the blood that dripped from his tongue. Unlike the first time, Kai took extra precautions to ensure his teeth did not cause another disaster such as that one. But he did have to admit, tasting Lucian’s blood was the best Valentine’s gift of all.
After a long while, Kai forced himself to pull away. Not because he was no longer interested in kissing him, but because he felt himself start to get lightheaded from not breathing for so long. He was met with another cruelly beautiful giggle from Lucian’s throat.
“You know you can breathe while we kiss, right?”
Kai was too flustered to reply. The answer to his question was most likely yes, he did know, but he was so infatuated with him that he didn’t focus on anything else. Before he managed to muster a reply similar to that out, Lucian’s arms snaked around his small waist with a sigh.
“It’s okay,” he whispered in his ear softly. “You need to go to sleep anyway.”
“What?!” The black-haired boy childishly whined, preparing himself to fight back against his grip. “Already?! It’s so early!”
Lucian hummed in delight of hearing his hoarse voice. He was proving his point even further by showing how exhausted his vocal cords were. Stroking his chest, his eyes dreamily gazed into his. Heat rushed to Kai’s face at the sight, nervously looking away to ensure he didn’t fall for his trap.
He gulped. “I slept really well last night, remember? So we can stay up a little!”
“Kaiii,” he groaned with a slightly annoyed tone. “It’s eleven thirty. Plus, I know you’re lying! When I went to get water last night, you were still up.”
There was no denying that. Kai recalled the very moment the boy woke up and caught him staring at his face. (Similar to a cat waiting for his owner to wake up.) Not only did he force him to lay down after he retrieved his drink, but he also attempted to stay awake until Kai fell asleep before him. It didn’t work. Lucian was out in three minutes and Kai was still running on the nap he had two days ago.
Now having no excuse to go back on, Kai was entirely trapped by his boyfriend's demands. He tried to sneak his way out of it by planting yet another kiss on Lucian’s nose, but it only resulted in him being pinned down in a matter of seconds. Kai had forgotten how strangely good Lucian was at doing that.
A heavy sigh overcame his system. It was Valentine’s Day, he might as well listen to what he wanted just this once. With a visible pout, he rested his head on Lucian’s chest, getting in a comfortable position to fall into slumber.
Glitter decorated Lucian’s irises in response. “See? It’s not so bad!”
Kai’s eyes widened. He could hear the sound of Lucian’s heart beat rumbling within his rib cage like a lovely melody. Had he known that laying down gave him the opportunity to hear this, he would have done it every night.
He smiled cheekily. “Mhmm.”
“Woah, why do you sound happy all of a sudden?”
“
No reasonn.”
Lucian’s eyes softened as he pushed Kai’s hair back, smiling like an idiot. “Okay, silly. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
