...Also, because this was in a drabble and I don't want people to have to go looking through a bunch of drabbles to find the exact explanation, this is what is actually causing the Corruption. (contrary to what they told the big group meeting)
Essentially, there are more existences out there than the one that the Creation Trio made (aka, where all the muses are), along with more Creationary Sets to watch over those other existences. Siffo, for instance, is from another existence entirely, and was a Set with three other Creationary Beings that have since been destroyed along with the existence they once had.
When this happens, the Creationary Being-- Siffo, in this example-- is essentially tossed back into the between space where they first woke up. They are supposed to be wholly unable to enter the existences of another Set, and end up drifting about until they run out of energy and finally disperse...except that's not what happened with Siffo.
Siffo was lucky enough to find the veil of the Trio's existence, and risked expending some of their last bits of energy to try to attract the attention of someone/something that would let them in.
Cue Ber finding this spot of incredibly potent energy that very much resembles Creation's, but...isn't quite the same. Upon further investigation, it seemed like there was far more beyond the veil that this energy was seeping through, and Ber wanted it. In order to accomplish this, he used Alsina to enable him to steal a mass of energy from the Pits of Hell...which he then used to try to poke a hole in the veil and siphon the energy out.
And that was all Siffo needed to break their way into this existence. Though that was dealt with rather quickly, as Siffo isn't malevolent by nature-- they just wanted to live-- they were able to strike a sort of agreement with the Trio to be allowed to stay.
The hole they tore in the veil was repaired immediately afterwards, but it's not by any means a perfect fix. And because of this, the other side of the veil, in the between space that the Creationary Beings are from, has a sort of scar that is extremely noticeable considering the fact that the rest of the area is blank space.
That's how the problem began, was with that scar.
Another displaced Creationary Being found the scar, and was able to much more easily reach through to contact someone-- this time, Irazor, the leader of a black market/trafficking group that goes by Ma'ilach. Though he wasn't Corrupted, the other being was able to make themselves "heard" by him; essentially driving him to madness so that Irazor would do its bidding.
With the energy Irazor subsequently gathered, he was essentially only able to poke a few small holes in the veil. And while that wasn't enough for the being to slip through, it was enough for them to force their own energy through, with the goal of claiming enough of the Trio's creations that they can strengthen themselves enough to enter. Or for said claimed creations to break them through. Either way, it wants to steal this existence away from the Trio by any means necessary. The claiming process is what's causing the Corruption, as their energy is-- while raw creationary energy-- a different frequency from the Trio's. This new frequency is overriding the Trio's, who at the moment, have to more or less wait for the claim to finish before reclaiming the beings and things for themselves again.
The cure they're talking about is essentially intended to be a band-aid, where they can "store" the corruption somewhere until either this other being finally runs out of energy and disperses...or until they can figure out how to seize control of/manipulate this other frequency of energy right off the bat, which would render it harmless.
