Do You Do the Floor First or Last in a Bathroom Remodel?
Welcome to the Kitchen and Bath Reno Guys Kitchener Waterloo blog! One of the most frequently asked questions we encounter from homeowners in Kitchener, Waterloo, and beyond is: "Do you do the floor first or last in a bathroom remodel?" It’s a great question, and the answer isn’t always straightforward. The decision depends on multiple factors—your project scope, the materials you choose, the timeline, and even your budget.
Tumblr media
At Kitchen and Bath Reno Guys Kitchener Waterloo, we’ve completed countless bathroom renovations, and we’re here to break down the pros, cons, and best practices for both approaches. By the end of this guide, you’ll have a clear understanding of what works best for your unique bathroom remodel. Let’s dive in!
Understanding the Bathroom Remodel Process
Before we tackle the flooring question, it’s helpful to understand the typical stages of a bathroom remodel. A well-planned renovation ensures durability, functionality, and a beautiful finish. Here’s a quick overview of the process:
Demolition: Removing old fixtures, tiles, and any outdated or damaged components.
Plumbing and Electrical: Updating pipes, drains, and wiring to meet modern codes and your design needs.
Structural Changes: Adjusting walls, adding support, or modifying the layout if needed.
Walls and Waterproofing: Installing drywall, cement board, and waterproof membranes to protect against moisture.
Fixtures and Finishes: Adding the bathtub, shower, vanity, toilet, and other elements.
Flooring: Laying tiles, vinyl, or other materials to complete the space.
The order of these steps can shift, especially when it comes to flooring. So, should you install the floor first or last? Let’s explore both options in detail.
Option 1: Installing the Floor First
Laying the flooring before installing other bathroom components—such as the vanity, toilet, or bathtub—has its merits. Here’s why this approach might appeal to you:
Benefits of Flooring First
Seamless Aesthetic When you install the floor first, the tiles or other materials extend from wall to wall, creating a uniform, uninterrupted look. This is especially appealing if you’re using large-format tiles, intricate patterns, or luxury materials like natural stone. No cuts or seams around fixtures mean a cleaner, more polished appearance.
Simplified Installation Tilers love this method because they can work without navigating around a vanity, toilet, or tub. With a clear, open space, they can lay tiles faster and more precisely, potentially saving time and labor costs for your project.
Ideal for Floating Floors If you’ve chosen a floating floor—such as luxury vinyl planks, laminate, or certain engineered wood options—installing it first is often necessary. These materials need room to expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes. Pinning them down under heavy fixtures can cause buckling or gaps over time.
Future Flexibility With the floor in place first, replacing a vanity or toilet down the road is easier. You won’t need to patch or extend the flooring to cover gaps left by old fixtures, as the material already runs beneath them.
Challenges of Flooring First
While this approach has advantages, it’s not without risks:
Damage During Construction A newly laid floor is vulnerable during a remodel. Dropping a tool, dragging a heavy bathtub, or even spilling paint can scratch, crack, or stain your beautiful new tiles or vinyl.
Protection Costs To avoid damage, you’ll need to cover the floor with protective materials like plywood, cardboard, or heavy-duty drop cloths. This adds a step—and potentially a cost—to your project.
Fixture Fit Issues When fixtures like a vanity or toilet sit on top of the floor, water can seep underneath, especially if seals fail. This might lead to mold or damage over time, particularly in a wet environment like a bathroom.
Option 2: Installing the Floor Last
The alternative—installing the floor after other components are in place—is a popular choice for many bathroom remodels. Here’s why we at Kitchen and Bath Reno Guys Kitchener Waterloo often lean toward this method:
Benefits of Flooring Last
Protection During Renovation By waiting to install the floor, you shield it from the chaos of construction. Demolition, wall repairs, painting, and heavy fixture installation all happen without risking scratches, dents, or cracks on your new flooring. This can save you from costly repairs or replacements.
Precise Fit and Finish Laying the floor last allows tiles or other materials to be cut precisely around the vanity, toilet flange, bathtub, or shower base. This creates tight, clean edges that enhance the look and help prevent water from seeping under fixtures—a critical concern in a bathroom.
Easier Adjustments During a remodel, you might need to tweak plumbing, adjust walls, or reposition fixtures. If the floor isn’t yet installed, these changes won’t damage or disrupt an already-finished surface. This flexibility can be a lifesaver if unexpected issues arise.
Better Waterproofing With the floor installed last, you can ensure walls and waterproofing systems (like membranes or backer boards) extend down to meet the flooring. This overlap creates a stronger barrier against moisture, a must for any bathroom.
Challenges of Flooring Last
This approach isn’t perfect either. Here are some potential drawbacks:
Fixture Removal If the vanity, toilet, or bathtub is already installed, they may need to be lifted or temporarily removed to lay the floor properly. This can add labor time and cost to your remodel.
Visible Cuts Tiles or materials cut to fit around fixtures might show edges that disrupt the seamless look some homeowners prefer. Skilled installers can minimize this, but it’s a consideration.
Height Adjustments Installing the floor last raises the floor level slightly, which might affect the height of your vanity or toilet. You may need spacers or adjustments to ensure everything aligns correctly.
What Do the Experts Recommend?
At Kitchen and Bath Reno Guys Kitchener Waterloo, we generally advise installing the floor last for most bathroom remodels. Here’s why this approach often wins out:
Maximum Protection A bathroom remodel involves heavy tools, fixtures, and messy tasks like grouting or painting. Waiting to lay the floor keeps it pristine, saving you stress and money.
Superior Water Resistance In a bathroom, water is the enemy. Installing the floor last allows us to cut tiles or vinyl to fit tightly around fixtures, creating a seal that keeps moisture out. We also ensure waterproofing from the walls extends properly to meet the floor, bolstering durability.
Flexibility for Changes Renovations can be unpredictable. Plumbing leaks, wall repairs, or design tweaks are easier to handle without a finished floor in the way. This approach gives us room to perfect every detail.
Professional Finish Our experienced team in Kitchener and Waterloo knows how to cut and install flooring for a flawless fit around your vanity, toilet, and tub. The result is a polished, cohesive look that elevates your bathroom.
When to Install the Floor First?
That said, there are exceptions. If you’re using large-format tiles, a complex mosaic pattern, or a floating floor, installing the floor first might be the better call. For example:
Large Tiles: Cutting big tiles around fixtures can be tricky and may ruin the aesthetic. Laying them first ensures a consistent pattern.
Floating Floors: Vinyl planks or laminate need to float freely, so they’re best installed before heavy fixtures anchor them down.
Custom Designs: If your vision includes a unique floor design that demands a seamless flow, starting with the floor might be necessary.
We’ll assess your project—considering your materials, layout, and goals—to recommend the best sequence. No two bathrooms are alike, and our tailored approach ensures the best outcome.
Additional Considerations for Your Remodel
The floor-first-or-last debate isn’t the only factor in a successful bathroom remodel. Here are a few more tips from Kitchen and Bath Reno Guys Kitchener Waterloo to keep in mind:
Material Choice Your flooring material impacts the decision. Ceramic or porcelain tiles are durable and water-resistant, making them ideal for bathrooms. Vinyl is budget-friendly and versatile. Natural stone looks stunning but requires sealing. Discuss options with us to find the perfect fit.
Budget and Timeline Installing the floor last might add a step (like lifting fixtures), increasing costs slightly. Conversely, flooring first requires protective measures. We’ll help you balance quality, cost, and timing for your Kitchener or Waterloo home.
Waterproofing Bathrooms demand robust waterproofing. Whether the floor goes in first or last, we ensure walls, shower areas, and subfloors have proper membranes or backer boards to prevent leaks and mold.
Professional Expertise DIY can be tempting, but a bathroom remodel involves plumbing, electrical, and precise installation. Mistakes can lead to leaks, damage, or code violations. Our skilled team brings years of experience to get it right the first time.

Excavator Ripper VS Micro Trenching Bucket
When it comes to excavation and trenching tasks, the choice between an Excavator Ripper and a Micro Trenching Bucket can significantly impact project efficiency and outcomes. The Excavator Ripper, a robust attachment designed for breaking up hard soil and rock, excels in tough ground conditions. It features strong teeth that penetrate and loosen compacted materials, making it ideal for heavy-duty excavation work. On the other hand, the Micro Trenching Bucket specializes in creating narrow, precise trenches, particularly useful for utility installations in urban environments. While both tools have their merits, the Excavator Ripper's versatility and power make it a preferred choice for a wider range of excavation projects.
Understanding the Excavator Ripper: Features and Functions
The Excavator Ripper is a formidable tool in the world of construction and earthmoving. This attachment is engineered to tackle some of the most challenging ground conditions, making it an indispensable asset for many projects. At its core, the Excavator Ripper consists of a robust frame equipped with one or more sharp, durable teeth. These teeth are designed to penetrate and break up hard soil, rock, and even frozen ground.
One of the key features of an Excavator Ripper is its adjustable shank. This allows operators to modify the angle of attack, optimizing performance based on the specific material being excavated. The shank's strength is crucial, as it must withstand immense forces during operation. High-quality rippers are often constructed from hardened steel, ensuring longevity and reliability even under extreme conditions.
The functionality of an Excavator Ripper extends beyond mere breaking of hard surfaces. It's an excellent tool for loosening compacted soil, which can significantly speed up subsequent excavation processes. In quarrying operations, rippers can be used to extract rock more efficiently than traditional blasting methods, reducing both cost and environmental impact. Additionally, in demolition projects, rippers prove invaluable for breaking up concrete foundations and pavements.
Another notable aspect of the Excavator Ripper is its versatility. While primarily designed for breaking ground, it can also be used for root removal in land clearing operations, creating drainage channels in tough soil, and even assisting in the installation of underground utilities. This multi-functionality makes the ripper a cost-effective investment for construction companies and contractors.
The size and power of Excavator Rippers can vary significantly, ranging from smaller attachments suitable for compact excavators to massive rippers designed for heavy-duty mining equipment. This scalability ensures that there's a ripper suitable for almost any project scale, from small urban development sites to large-scale mining operations.
In terms of operational efficiency, the use of an Excavator Ripper can dramatically reduce the need for explosives in certain projects. This not only enhances safety but also allows work to proceed in areas where blasting might be restricted due to environmental or regulatory concerns. The precision offered by a skilled operator using a ripper can also result in more controlled and accurate excavation, minimizing overbreak and reducing the need for additional material handling.
Micro Trenching Bucket: Precision in Urban Excavation
The Micro Trenching Bucket represents a specialized approach to excavation, particularly suited for urban environments and utility installations. This innovative tool is designed to create narrow, precise trenches, typically ranging from 1 to 4 inches in width. The primary purpose of micro trenching is to minimize surface disruption while efficiently installing underground utilities such as fiber optic cables, electrical conduits, or small-diameter pipes.
One of the key advantages of the Micro Trenching Bucket is its ability to significantly reduce the footprint of excavation work. Traditional trenching methods often require wide cuts that can disrupt traffic, damage surrounding infrastructure, and require extensive restoration work. In contrast, micro trenching creates minimal surface impact, allowing for faster project completion and reduced restoration costs. This makes it particularly valuable in urban settings where minimizing disruption to daily activities is crucial.
The design of a Micro Trenching Bucket typically includes a series of closely spaced cutting wheels or a continuous cutting chain. These components are engineered to cut through various surface materials, including asphalt and concrete, with precision. The depth of the trench can usually be adjusted, allowing for customization based on the specific requirements of each project. This adaptability makes micro trenching suitable for a wide range of utility installation needs.
Another significant benefit of micro trenching is the speed at which work can be completed. Compared to traditional excavation methods, micro trenching can be up to ten times faster, dramatically reducing project timelines. This efficiency not only saves time but also reduces labor costs and minimizes the duration of any necessary road closures or detours. The precision of the cut also means that the trench can be quickly filled and restored, often within the same day, further reducing the impact on local communities.
Environmental considerations also favor the use of Micro Trenching Buckets. The reduced excavation volume means less material needs to be removed and disposed of, lowering the project's environmental footprint. Additionally, the narrow trench width minimizes the disturbance to soil and root systems of nearby vegetation, which is particularly important in urban green spaces or along tree-lined streets.
While highly effective for certain applications, it's important to note that Micro Trenching Buckets do have limitations. They are not suitable for all soil types or in areas with significant underground obstructions. Additionally, the narrow trench width limits the size of utilities that can be installed. However, for appropriate projects, the benefits of speed, precision, and minimal disruption make micro trenching an increasingly popular choice in urban development and infrastructure upgrades.
Comparative Analysis: Performance in Different Terrains
When evaluating the performance of Excavator Rippers and Micro Trenching Buckets across various terrains, it becomes evident that each tool has its specific strengths and optimal conditions. The Excavator Ripper excels in challenging, hard-ground conditions where brute force and deep penetration are required. In rocky terrain or areas with heavily compacted soil, the ripper's powerful teeth can break through layers that would be impenetrable to other excavation methods.
In contrast, the Micro Trenching Bucket shines in urban environments with paved surfaces. Its precision cutting ability makes it ideal for creating narrow, clean trenches in asphalt or concrete without causing extensive damage to the surrounding area. This makes it particularly valuable for utility installations in city streets or sidewalks where minimizing surface disruption is crucial.
In softer soil conditions, the Excavator Ripper might be considered overkill, as its power isn't fully utilized. However, it still proves useful in loosening compacted earth, which can speed up subsequent excavation processes. The Micro Trenching Bucket, while efficient on hard surfaces, may struggle in very soft or loose soil, where trench walls might not hold their shape effectively.
For projects involving varied terrain types, the Excavator Ripper demonstrates superior versatility. It can adapt to changes in soil composition, from clay to rock, by adjusting the angle and depth of penetration. This adaptability makes it a valuable tool for large-scale projects that encounter diverse ground conditions. The Micro Trenching Bucket, while highly specialized, is limited to relatively uniform, typically urban terrains.
In terms of depth capability, the Excavator Ripper generally has the advantage. It can penetrate much deeper into the ground, making it suitable for projects that require significant earth removal or deep foundation work. The Micro Trenching Bucket, by design, is limited to shallower depths, typically suitable for utility installations that don't require deep trenches.
Environmental factors also play a role in the performance comparison. In ecologically sensitive areas, the Micro Trenching Bucket's minimal ground disturbance can be advantageous. However, in remote or undeveloped areas where surface restoration is less critical, the Excavator Ripper's ability to handle a wide range of terrain types becomes more valuable.
Cost-Effectiveness and Operational Efficiency
When assessing the cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency of Excavator Rippers versus Micro Trenching Buckets, several factors come into play. The initial investment for an Excavator Ripper is generally higher due to its robust construction and versatility. However, this cost can be offset by its wide range of applications and durability, potentially making it a more economical choice for companies that handle diverse projects.
Micro Trenching Buckets, while more specialized, often have a lower initial cost. Their efficiency in urban utility installations can lead to significant savings in labor and time, particularly in projects where minimizing surface disruption is crucial. The reduced need for extensive road repairs and shorter project durations can result in substantial cost savings over the course of multiple projects.
Operational efficiency varies greatly between the two tools. Excavator Rippers excel in productivity when dealing with hard ground conditions. Their ability to break up tough materials quickly can significantly speed up excavation processes, reducing overall project timelines. This efficiency is particularly notable in large-scale projects where time is a critical factor.
On the other hand, Micro Trenching Buckets offer unparalleled efficiency in their specific application. The speed at which they can create precise, narrow trenches in urban environments is remarkable. This rapidity not only reduces labor costs but also minimizes disruption to traffic and local businesses, an important consideration in urban project planning.
Maintenance costs and longevity are also important factors. Excavator Rippers, due to their robust construction and simple design, often have lower maintenance requirements and longer operational lifespans. This can result in lower long-term costs, especially for companies that use them frequently. Micro Trenching Buckets, while generally requiring less maintenance, may need more frequent replacement of cutting elements due to wear from constant contact with hard surfaces.
Fuel efficiency is another consideration. Excavator Rippers, especially when used in tough conditions, can require significant power from the host machine, potentially increasing fuel consumption. Micro Trenching Buckets, typically used on smaller machines and for less power-intensive tasks, often have better fuel efficiency in their specific applications.
Environmental Impact and Sustainability Considerations
The environmental impact and sustainability of construction equipment are increasingly important considerations in today's eco-conscious world. When comparing Excavator Rippers and Micro Trenching Buckets, several environmental factors come into play. Excavator Rippers, while powerful and versatile, can have a more significant immediate impact on the environment. Their ability to break up large areas of ground can lead to soil disturbance, potentially affecting local ecosystems and soil stability.
However, the environmental impact of Excavator Rippers isn't entirely negative. In certain applications, such as land reclamation or preparation for reforestation, rippers can be used to break up compacted soil, improving drainage and creating better conditions for plant growth. Additionally, in quarrying operations, the use of rippers as an alternative to blasting can reduce noise pollution and the risk of harmful dust dispersal, making them a more environmentally friendly option in some scenarios.
Micro Trenching Buckets, by design, have a much smaller environmental footprint. Their precision cutting creates minimal surface disturbance, which is particularly beneficial in urban environments. This reduced impact means less damage to surrounding vegetation and soil structures. The narrow trenches produced also require less material to be removed and disposed of, reducing the overall waste generated by the project.
In terms of sustainability, both tools have their merits. Excavator Rippers, due to their durability and versatility, can have a long operational life, reducing the need for frequent replacements. This longevity contributes to sustainability by minimizing the resources required for manufacturing new equipment. Micro Trenching Buckets, while potentially having a shorter lifespan due to wear on cutting elements, contribute to sustainability through their efficient use of resources in urban projects.
Energy efficiency is another important aspect of environmental impact. Excavator Rippers, especially when used in tough conditions, can require significant energy input. However, their efficiency in breaking up hard ground can reduce the overall energy requirements of a project by minimizing the need for additional equipment or prolonged excavation times. Micro Trenching Buckets, typically used on smaller machines, generally have lower energy requirements, contributing to reduced carbon emissions in their specific applications.
The choice between these tools can also affect the broader environmental impact of a project. For instance, the speed and precision of Micro Trenching Buckets in urban environments can lead to shorter project durations, reducing overall emissions from construction activities and minimizing disruption to local communities. Conversely, the versatility of Excavator Rippers can reduce the need for multiple specialized tools, potentially lowering the overall environmental impact of equipment manufacturing and transportation.
Future Trends and Technological Advancements
The construction and excavation industry is constantly evolving, with new technologies and innovations shaping the future of equipment like Excavator Rippers and Micro Trenching Buckets. One of the most significant trends is the integration of smart technologies. For Excavator Rippers, this could mean the development of sensors that provide real-time data on ground conditions, allowing for automatic adjustments in ripper angle and depth for optimal performance. This level of automation could significantly improve efficiency and reduce operator fatigue.
In the realm of Micro Trenching Buckets, advancements are likely to focus on increasing precision and reducing environmental impact even further. We may see the development of cutting elements made from more durable, eco-friendly materials that require less frequent replacement. Additionally, improvements in cutting technology could lead to even narrower trenches, further minimizing surface disruption in urban environments.
Another emerging trend is the integration of these tools with GPS and 3D mapping technologies. For Excavator Rippers, this could mean more precise excavation based on detailed terrain models, reducing overexcavation and improving project efficiency. Micro Trenching Buckets could benefit from this technology by allowing for ultra-precise trench paths, avoiding underground obstacles and optimizing utility layouts.
The push towards electrification in construction equipment is also likely to impact these tools. Building 7 - Engineering consent
The official story is that a group of guys, after a few flight lessons, took over five commercial airliners with boxcutters, flew those planes in various directions. One of the planes flew at ground level into the very section of a building where investigators were looking at a 2.3 trillion dollar bookkeeping error (lucky for some). NORAD appeared to take no notice (even better), even though that system was designed to address a soviet missile strike and the Washington corridor is surrounded by air force bases (freaky lucky). Then a couple headed off to attack a couple of buildings with no military value, but intense cultural significance (killing yourself for artistic merit). These buildings in turn collapsed like pancakes (there that strangeness again) into their own footprint (neat) in less than a day (fast, 100 storey buildings)…causing 18 years of non stop war. All of this took place on the day that signifies “emergency” to people in the USA. The whole opera was supposedly directed by a man who was a known US intel asset, who later hid out in a cave (in the 21st century).  What I call fear porn seems to be the official narrative. You could probably pull a million threads out of that ball of string. I always thought a NY beat cop could have solved it in five minutes by questioning Junior, without even using "enhanced interrogation techniques." Remember when he couldn't take a piss without cheney being there.
Tumblr media
This week was the anniversary of the twin towers bombing. The media was overflowing with admonitions to "never forget."Some of you may understand the hypnotic value of such a phrase, repeated over and over with the same sparce imagery. It's a message to keep bleating. It reminds one of the moon stuff (but let's not get distracted, shall we, people love to shout "conspiracy," "birther" or "truther"over and over).   I'd guide your attention with the attention to one trick...one of the premiere objectives is to use the pubic purse to fund all of these events, to then use public money to drive a pre-conceived agenda and in doing so to destroy Christianity and western civilization by it's own hand (this is a central conceit). It's a very pretty death blossom (if that's your perspective). To bleed a country dry. It's very simple stuff, Bush and Co. have been working for Satan, not America. Another point of attention is how "intelligence" agencies set up their own terrorists and events to control outcomes. This is common practice. Honey traps, blackmail, coercion, payoffs, cut outs, traitors, military coups, military subversion and assassination have all been used with this method. Here is a central conspiracy theory; building 7 (the story goes it fell into it's own footprint (again)), not from plane strike, but from a massive internal fire." The official theory established that the 47-story colossus collapsed on its base after the tragic attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, at 5:20 p.m., when it was affected by the fire coming from the Twin Towers—Buildings 1 and 2 of the World Trade Center. The building was completely destroyed in just seven seconds. (note: 7 seconds, complete destruction) However, after investing four years in computer simulations, the FAU scientists published a draft report that concludes that the collapse of the third WTC skyscraper on Sept.11, 2001 was not due to any fire, but “the almost simultaneous failure of every column in the building.” https://thebl.com/us-news/fire-did-not-destroy-world-trade-center-building-7-on-sept-11-scientific-study-reveals.html
Tumblr media
At the same time as they are saying "never forget" the online personas are as adroitly as possible trying to forget all about building 7. Why? I had someone die, etc., don't bring up the "bad" memories. Don't hurt my feelings with your inconvenient facts. When 3000 engineers say something is a bit fishy... Some time ago, more than 3,000 active and retired architects and engineers called on the U.S. Congress to conduct a new investigation into the three WTC skyscrapers that were destroyed on Sept. 11. Under the name ‘Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth,’ they said there was “sufficient doubt about the official story to justify reopening the 9/11 investigation.” “The new investigation must include a full inquiry into the possible use of explosives that might have been the actual cause of the destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Building 7,” they said.https://thebl.com/us-news/fire-did-not-destroy-world-trade-center-building-7-on-sept-11-scientific-study-reveals.html
Tumblr media
I know that no matter what I pull up, you'll say, not an "official source,"meaning one of the raggle taggle mob of official sources. The same rags that are being tossed into the air by Trumpie on a daily basis. On the one hand you're obsessed with following your command and control narrative and yet when Trumpie tells you they are pure bullshit fake news outlets, you mock Trumpie (an actual patriot), who was there on the day, is a native new yorker, property development billionaire and quite clued into how buildings are constructed, said, explosives did it, when interviewed at the time. https://www.disclose.tv/trump-was-one-of-the-first-who-said-only-explosives-could-have-brought-the-wtc-down-312592 "Donald Trump: It wasn’t architectural defect. The World Trade Center was always known as a very very strong building. Don’t forget that took a big bomb in the basement (1993). Now, the basement is the most vulnerable place because that’s your foundation and it withstood that and I got to see that area about three or four days after took place because one of my structural engineers actually took me for a tour because he did the building and I said “I can’t believe it”. The the building was standing solid and half of the columns were blown out. This was an unbelievably powerful building. If you don’t know anything about structure it was one of the first buildings that was built from the outside. The steel, the reason the World Trade Center had such narrow windows is that in between all the windows, you had the steel on the outside, the steel on the outside of the building." Which is it? Your loyalty is to another king, isn't it? you'd willingly concede any deception to stay asleep. You're so patriotic drapped in your false flag, yet you're unwilling to investigate? Riddle me ree. Another deflection is to honor the dead by continuing to follow the official narrative. An official narrative which has laid waste to Syria, Lybia, Iraq, Afghanistan, created a refugee crisis in most European countries, killed millions of people (brown skinned Muslims and their sovereignty don't matter according to your narrative), vilified one of the world's great religions of over 600 mln people, created a massive war industry bonus system and sent militarized american youth off on a multi billion dollar worldwide goose chase. On one hand, you're not supposed to hurt the feelings of grieving "family" members and on the other hand you're supposed to forget the "feelings" of the ordinary people in the middle east in countries that didn't bomb your building (in the official narrative the pilots were a Saudi based terror group).  You don't question anything? Ever?
Tumblr media
Muslims = bad. That seems a little simplistic...unless you're being pushed into this position intentionally, then you're just a dupe, everybody's fool. In all cases the admonition is to stick to the official line. In the first instance because you'll hurt "feelings." In the second to propagate a revenge narrative x1000. In both cases, they keep the script firmly on the "burning twins." The images are always the same, the same loop, the same sequence, the same fragment of time. What is always tried in these circumstances is to move the conversation into the "conspiracy theory" basket. The mocking, "truther" cat calls and the "you're either with us or against us" nonsense.  My argument is fairly straightforward, "a group of people did something."The reasons varied in terms of motive, but the overall purpose was satanic. Pure evil. The tool of lucifer is deception. There were proximate and strategic objectives and everyone had their own angle. The "intelligence" angle was one big winner in all of it, the "patriot" act (mirror), operation iraqi freedom (mirror) homeland security (mirror). All the other legislation to turn the US (and the world) into a police state. The jewish angle is another obvious win for one "side" over another.  That is not over quite yet, is - real-is will receive a knock on the door one of these days.

"Of the twenty-five people who signed PNAC's founding statement of principles, ten went on to serve in the administration of U.S. President George W. Bush, including Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Paul Wolfowitz."https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_for_the_New_American_Century  One theory is that the towers were built with the satanic sacrifice in mind by the Rs in R plaza. This makes sense on a construction level (nothing is designed to be permanent, especially in a major city). The twin towers were old and their infrastructure was creaking. To take down the buildings in a conventional manner would have involved lots of public consultation, reports and working with the surrounding owners over a protracted period of time. The towers were every well built with an exceptionally strong steel outer-casing augmented by an inner pile (take a look at Japanese anti earth quake technologies for reference points). So the traditional path of demolition was going to be expensive. Why not demolish it anyway and blame ...a whatever? Collect the insurance? Rebuild with on the same site after banking a profit. The twins were taken down on a specific day. A day that ties to a calendar. It was a scripted event. It’s a show of power and a trigger (quite literally, a smoking gun). They even removed the evidence and threw it in a river (figuratively) by shipping all the steel off and melting it down.

You were pre-programmed for years by Hollywood and MSM for this event. If you’re looking for proof on that one, there are lot’s of sources (you don’t even need to dig really). All day long on that day they re-ran the same sequences (imprinting) and the same interviews from the same angles (remember a major city has many viewpoints). We only have four still images from the pentagon, one of the most secure buildings in the world. In fact that has been the pattern for these types of "happenings," low quality grainy images from only one view point and people being asked to “hand in” their footage for investigations that go nowhere, even now, with the quality of everyone's camera. Decrowning the XIIIth  - Briefing RP Logs
Here are the (unedited - I’m lazy) RP logs leading up to Part 3 of Decrowing the XIIIth.
X'tehra Algus grips at the spine of the book carefully for a moment, a somewhat strange gesture. Though one Mako passes, she merely turns the page and goes back to her reading. The words are printed in Garlean - clearly the book is from a proper country with printing presses.
Rafailleur Sangmarche closed the door behind after entering the room. He didn't bring a file with him, presumably, because the information they'd be acting upon would be fairly recent to be documented.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "I see we've a few gathered already. Good. A few more moments for others to arrive."
X'tehra Algus: "Centurio."
X'tehra Algus moves swiftly to her 'post' next to Raf.
Khallendra Khaine stood against the walk, simply here to listen and observe.
Reion Seitsurugi had taken his "usual" spot on the wall. The Au Ra remained stone-still, his gaze flickering between arrivals the only sign of life while he remained at attention.
Aegir Hlerson: "Am I late!?" Aegir came running in, out of breath.
Hali Naras || Mako sets down the very sparsely-populated folder with which she walked in, flipping through no more than just three pages within. She shakes her head with a frown, then turns, saluting Zheng in silence.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "You're not late, Iulius. Sit down, seems like you need it."
Zheng Diremite: "We were just getting started." Zheng announced, drawing his hands together. "Good evening."
X'tehra Algus: "...hm."
Aegir Hlerson could use a good sit. He wet his lips then nodded, stumbling towards a chair.
Aegir Hlerson smirked up at Ame. He removed his headgear and slipped his goggles on.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "Hagane. The floor is yours."
Zheng Diremite: "We've recieved new information about the target, Cassius rem Batiatius. My Shadow, Miss Mako," he indicated the woman beside him, "will brief us on the intelligence she has collected."
Bragi Odinson listened with his usual glower. He had a few things to report himself, when there was time.
Reion Seitsurugi quirks an eyebrow, he had made a deal after all. "Anything on the whereabouts of.... her name was Hanako, I believe. The information from Nishikaze came at the exchange of an offer to assist in finding his family members."
Hali Naras speaks in an apathetic, frying voice, standing at attention as she does. "The continued investigations into the Batiatus case have revealed a facility belonging to one of his men, a Severus mal Agrippa. Agrippa is a former chief of reseach
Batiatus case have revealed a facility belonging to one of his men, a Severus mal Agrippa. Agrippa is a former chief of reseach in the VIth, discharged for his illicit work in the Slave Crown Project. Following the termination of both this project and his position in the VIth, he appears to have taken up residence in a facility just over the Ilsabardian border. >>
Hali Naras: This facility, previously thought abandoned, has seen a considerable amount of activity, with unidentified civilians being shipped in and beyond a thus-far insurmountable security wall. The environment, combined with the level of alert on which the facility is kept at all times makes it nigh impenetrable by all but a direct assault under the proper circumstances so that they may be hit when at their weakest."
Aegir Hlerson: "Direct assault?" Aegir blinked a few times.
Rafailleur Sangmarche frowned at the mention of civillians being treated as test subjects. He shook his head and turned to look at Aegir. "If an exfiltration was possible, Hagane and the other Shadows would've succeeded already. It stands to reason that the longer we take, the more likely the target is to relocate."
Amethyst Dracht: "We'd have to plan very accordingly..."
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "If the facility is indeed abandoned, then they wouldn't be expecting a strike force."
Rafailleur Sangmarche || thought abandoned*
X'tehra Algus: "...mh. Even abandoned, a stronghold in the homeland is not a simple target."
Hali Naras || Mako nods once. "Unfortunately," she confirms, "No army will be needed, of course. This is not a fully-staffed station. Security is enough to make infiltration impractical, though a team of Shadows will be able to assist in disabling security measures through the facility while a main strike team occupies their attention."
Hali Naras: "From there, the way will open to said strike team, should they occupy enough attention."
Bragi Odinson: "What are their numbers?" Bragi demanded.
Reion Seitsurugi clenches his fist as Mako speaks, his entire demeanor one of tension.
Aegir Hlerson nodded slowly. He always got a little nervous when they were attacking one of these creepy bastards secret base.
X'tehra Algus seems more thoughtfull than anything else, drumming her fingers upon the edge of the table with one ear half turned.
Khallendra Khaine grins.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "On the bright side, an isolated place like this means that if they were to ask for reinforcements, they could not feasibly arrive in time to deter us."
X'tehra Algus: "A facility which is under the label of abandon cannot call for reinforcement at all - lest they give wares to the ruse."
Hali Naras || Mako turns her soulless stare to Bragi for a moment, "Exact numbers are difficult due to the nature of security. Most defences are mechanised, with staff numbering less than thirty. Not all are soldiers, and many will have stations to man instead of meeting a force head-on, and will be easily-dispatchable by a supporting infiltration team." She nods to Tehra, "Indeed. They are also operating outside of proper jurisdiction. Many are wanted."
Aegir Hlerson: "Yeah, but these guys always have some sort of evil trap stuffed in their loading dock. Like a giant spider or 12 mutants with wheel arms."
Bragi Odinson nodded.
X'tehra Algus: "...mh. Iulius is not without merit - if previous encounters are to judge, they are willing to unleash their experiments when pressed."
Hali Naras: "They may. Should such be the case, the supporting infiltration team will have a priority to find aught which will complicate matters for the strike team."
Amethyst Dracht mouthed 'Wheel arms?', looking confused.
X'tehra Algus: "Hm. If you can mere disable - not destroy - many of the security measures in the facility we may be able to utilize them against such opposition."
Hali Naras || Mako nods once. "That is the intent."
X'tehra Algus: "...what of the man himself? Is it him or mere his head that you seek, Lord Zheng?"
Hali Naras || Mako passes her gaze to Zheng, as well, awaiting that answer.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "..It would stand to reason for us to capture him alive. His testimony could be the evidence we need against Batiatus."
Zheng Diremite: "I need Doctor Agrippa to be brought in alive." He confirmed. "Please keep in mind that our main target is Batiatus."
X'tehra Algus: "Sic." She nods firmly.
Reion Seitsurugi raps his fingerstops against his arm, his stoicism starting to falter. "A research fascility, even if abandoned, may likely still have an adequate amount of fuel. In the event some level of "demolition" is needed in the aftermath. A stray explosion at an abandoned facility would be easy enough to cover up, and could prevent any research records from surviving for these projects to continued."
Aegir Hlerson: "You think this guy is the source of all those... uh...." he tapped the table, trying to think of a way to describe the Hypercharged, "...super humans?"
X'tehra Algus: "Mh...do we require aught to cove
X'tehra Algus: "Mh...do we require aught to cover out exit, such may be considered."
Rafailleur Sangmarche nodded. "If the information Mako has is to be believed, then this man is responsible for Batiatus' modification of his men."
Zheng Diremite turned to Reion. "I understand your sentiment, Mister Minekage, but we cannot destroy potential evidence to be used against Doctor Agrippa nor Tribunus  Batiatus. Nor would I have equipment destroyed that can be repurposed for imperial use." Or stolen for his own collection.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "By apprehending him we would not only be gaining leverage against the man, but weakening his forces."
Aegir Hlerson: "So this place could be birth chamber central for those freaks."
Bragi Odinson frowned. More mutant soldiers. It took nearly the entirity of their force to take down just one.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "..Unfortunately, yes, we should likely expect to be fighting products of imperial science."
X'tehra Algus: "That seems a possibility, Iulius. I should expect that at least a few will attend the Medicorum."
Aegir Hlerson frowned, thinking about what happened last time with Araceli.
X'tehra Algus: "Have you a map of the facility?" She glances back at Mako.
Khallendra Khaine: "If that is the case I will be coming along."
X'tehra Algus: "...I would plan angles of assault and rally points."
Zheng Diremite: "Your arm will be appreciated, Praefectus."
Reion Seitsurugi stared back at Zheng, "when civilians are fodder, be they imperial citizens or aan, then whatever merits this equipment may bring does not outweigh the sickness that conceived it in the first place. Whatever that soldier was, whatever else is in there, I doubt it should ever see the light of day."
Hali Naras || Mako shakes her head at Tehra. "Not a complete one," she says, pulling a single sheet of graphing paper from the folder behind her and handing it over. The outside of the facility has been mapped out, but it's clear from the rather detailed drawing that they found no way inside.
X'tehra Algus: "Mh." She looks at the paper for a long moment, nodding briefly. "I will create a copy."
Zheng Diremite: "Tools cannot be blamed for the evil of man. A knife can be used to save a life just as easily as it is used to end it. Follow your orders, Mister Minekage."
Hali Naras: "Do with it as you will."
Reion Seitsurugi narrows his gaze, but falls silent for now.
X'tehra Algus: "Hm."
X'tehra Algus places the map upon the edge of the table, her brow faintly furrowed as she traces a hand over it - thinking.
Zheng Diremite: "Fustarium's concern is securing the target, Doctor Agrippa," Zheng turned to address Khallendra, "Praefectus, would you be able to provide cohorts (npcs) to tackle the main force we expect to encounter at the entrance of the facility?"
Hali Naras || Mako turns to look at Khallendra.
Khallendra Khaine: "I shall and I shall also be joining."
X'tehra Algus lifts an ear at Khalle with a somewhat curious motion; but she says nothing.
Zheng Diremite: "We appreciate your contribution." He bowed.
Zheng Diremite: "We shall deploy tomorrow at 0600 hours." Zheng informed them. "I shall expect you to be armed and ready at the transport pad in Cape Westwind."
X'tehra Algus: "Sic."
Khallendra Khaine: "Very well, I will see that they are briefed an well equip for this, perhaps a manipulus with two reapers would suffice for such an operation."
Amethyst Dracht: "Time for my healing gun again..." She muttered.
Bragi Odinson: "Looks like we're relying on the Shadows for this one." Bragi was never 100% on putting his faith in the Doman spooks. But they would be making this mission a lot easier for them as the main force.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "If I may, I would like to assist your forces, Praefectus."
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "Algus can instruct the men within in my stead."
Aegir Hlerson: "Please don't shoot me with your heal gun."
Rafailleur Sangmarche is totally not dodging being inside so he can DM properly.
X'tehra Algus: "...as you say, Centurio."
Amethyst Dracht: "Don't get hurt."
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "I am sure you'd appreciate a veteran Reaper pilot on your side."
Hali Naras: "This is a group effort, Vaatis. Each team will require the others in order for success."
Bragi Odinson: "Hn." He narrowed his eyes on the Shadow a bit.
Khallendra Khaine: "That is fine, a way to further see your abilities as a leader."
Hali Naras || Mako simply stares, unshaken by the Ala Mhigan brute.
Zheng Diremite: "I have confidence in the Optio's ability to lead this mission. And I have confidence in my Shadows." He added, looking over at Bragi.
Bragi Odinson: "Sir."
Aegir Hlerson smiled nervously at Ame. "I never get hurt on purpose."
Zheng Diremite: "Are there any more questions?"
X'tehra Algus: "Hm." She nods once, attention returning to the map, tracing a hand over it thoughtfully again.
Rafailleur Sangmarche: "Then you shall have me. A three-pronged attack on the facility should be more than enough to keep the enemy occupied and seize our target."
Hali Naras || The lesser Frumentarius slowly peers across those in attendance, searchingly, though her expression remains blank.

The Urge to Preserve
By definition, most old buildings truly are irreplaceable; this gives them a special, endangered status in the eyes of many individuals. The desire to save these buildings can be based on rational thinking, emotional dogma, or some combination of the two. The motivation to preserve them can also stem from a personal tie or a fear that a new structure will be inferior to the existing old building.
Still, others are driven to save old buildings in the interest of preserving meaningful architectural qualities. Handcrafted exterior and interior elements, large operable windows, access to natural light, and high ceilings characterise many old buildings and are less often found in new ones. Retention of these details is almost universally desirable.
The preservation urge can be roused, however, by issues unrelated to the architectural qualities of a building. For example, as an emotional reaction against modern architecture, some extreme preservationists have taken the stance that an old building should never be replaced with a new one. This dogmatic approach has caused many local jurisdictions to enact strict anti-demolition ordinances that require exhaustive study and review to determine if an existing structure can be razed. A few jurisdictions have gone so far as to declare any building over fifty years old to be de facto historic. Ironically, under these ordinances, buildings based on modernist tenets (a movement that had disdain for historic preservation) become subjects of preservation themselves.
The desire to preserve is sometimes sparked by a distrust of the quality of today’s construction. Craft plays a role here. Hand-wrought features, which modern, unadorned surfaces can lack, invoke warm, nostalgic feelings. Additionally, some individuals consider work crafted by human hands to be inherently better than the same work fabricated by a machine; this can lead to the false belief that all older buildings are built better than modern ones. While it is likely true that historic structures that are still standing today were built and maintained better than their contemporaries that are no longer standing, advances in construction techniques have, for the most part, led to the creation of more reliable, efficient, and durable buildings.
Since the preservation movement began in the 1960s, architects have advocated the retention of buildings through restoration, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse. More recently, however, recycling of entire buildings has become recognised as an important cornerstone of a sustainable approach to urban development. Cities worldwide have adopted policies that encourage or mandate reuse of existing building fabric.
Unfortunately, preservation concerns have sometimes been used as a means to block new, often times denser, development. In this case, preservation is not linked to the merits of the old structure in place on the site, rather it is employed as a political tool to oppose a project that may have a perceived undesirable consequence, such as increased traffic congestion or blockage of views.
Given the rational, non rational, and sometimes irrational views on the preservation of old buildings, perhaps it is not surprising that there is rarely consensus about what to preserve and how to do it, especially when the introduction of new architectural elements is necessary. The debate, however, should take into account the myriad technical problems with which old buildings are burdened and should acknowledge that not every building merits preservation.

Turf Guy, Bama-OSU, and the Joys of Bowl Season: The Weekend in College Football
Welcome to the final Weekend in College Football of the season. This week, we'll take you through everything you missed on Saturday (or, God forbid, Friday night), tell you the things worth learning, and look ahead to the College Football Playoff field. Enjoy.
1st and 10
Oklahoma steamrolled TCU 41-17, a nearly note-perfect recreation of the Sooners’ 38-20 triumph over the Horned Frogs on November 11th. The consistency is notable for two reasons.
First, the Sooners once again flashed their trademark balance on offense. Baker Mayfield was his usual, soon-to-be Heisman-winning self, efficient and ably spreading the ball across his receiving corps. Rodney Anderson ground out 93 yards, with Mayfield and Trey Sermon combining for 128 more. The offensive line, one of the country’s best, turned back Gary Patterson’s defense in both phases. By now, we’ve come to expect nothing less from what is far and away the best offense among the playoff field.
But it’s a second strong defensive performance that provides more optimism for a possible national championship run. As Sooner fans are well aware, Oklahoma has all the talent necessary to field a plus defense. Some of the individual cogs, such as sophomore linebacker Caleb Kelly, have flourished, too. But the unit ranked 100th in the S&P+ rankings heading into Saturday, which is embarrassingly low no matter how potent Big 12 offenses generally are across the board.
The Horned Frogs’ offense checked in at 45th, so the Sooners didn’t quite lock down one of the conference’s scariest attacks. Nevertheless, it was enough of a statement to beget optimism that Oklahoma can deliver on defense almost as well as they do on offense. Point blank: Two more strong defensive efforts probably means they’re winning the national title.
2nd and 8
The Sooners are the upside play, but Clemson is the safe bet.
Some of this, of course, is because they won it all last year and a not insignificant amount of that national championship team is back. The Tigers also have much of the Sooners’ offensive balance, if not their explosiveness, and augment that with the nastiest front seven in the country. The talent, production, intangibles, and resume—their one loss came when quarterback Kelly Bryant left early with a concussion—make Clemson the prohibitive favorites.
Still, confidence in the Tigers is inextricably tied to a belief that Bryant can drive an offense through an elite defense when the chips are down. DeShaun Watson did it last year and even his brilliance was barely enough to carry Clemson past Alabama. Now Bryant will be tasked with doing the same thing and, despite Watson’s proclamations to the contrary, the junior is not yet on par with the greatest quarterback in program history.
Still, Bryant’s potential is abundant, and his performance in the Tigers’ 38-3 demolition of Miami—23 of 29 for 252 yards and a touchdown—is an extremely promising tune-up. But if Alabama takes away the run game, will Bryant be ready? It comes down to timing, and whether he can develop into what Clemson needs him to be before it costs the Tigers a game.
Clip of the Week
Bronze: The play itself—the mechanics of it—are fairly mundane. USC senior linebacker Uchenna Nwosu bursts around an edge and drags Stanford’s Cameron Scarlett down by his shoelaces. Impressive, but not spectacular. It’s the context that elevates it.
Nwosu makes this stop on 4th and goal from the USC 1-yard-line with eight minutes remaining in the game and Trojans bleeding momentum. A few more inches and Scarlett delivers the Cardinal a 28-24 lead. Instead, it’s a turnover on downs and the Trojans march 99 yards for a game-sealing touchdown and their first conference title since 2008. Sam Darnold and Ronald Jones get many of the plaudits, but Nwosu was the hero on Friday night.
Silver: Speaking of big plays at crucial moments, Georgia’s coup de grâce came from true freshman tailback D’Andre Swift, the heir to Nick Chubb and Sony Michel’s throne in Athens. Swift was similarly regarded coming out of high school, but he has the edge on the upperclassmen—and most everyone else—in top-end speed. Case in point, this 64-yard bolt of lightning down the left sideline that even had Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart running along with him. Georgia went up 28-10, walling off any hope of an Auburn comeback.
Gold: Given how TCU got flattened by Oklahoma, the Horned Frogs’ John Diarse can’t match these last two in dramatics. No, this is about pure aesthetics and degree of difficulty. Here’s why the last week of the regular season delivered one of the very best catches of the year:
3rd and 1
Georgia’s 28-7 win over Auburn in the SEC Championship Game was a clinic in what the Bulldogs do best: pounding opponents into submission, both with a deep, physical defense and a hydra of running backs on offense. There is no transcendent strength on par with Oklahoma’s offensive skill position talent or Clemson’s front four, but Georgia’s offense is far less of a question than the Sooners’ defense, and while true freshman Jake Fromm carries many of the same questions as Bryant, he also has a much stronger TD:INT ratio (19:5) and his running backs are far more established.
Think of the Bulldogs as a faster, more dynamic Wisconsin. Opposing teams know what’s coming but there’s still the matter of actually stopping it. Except, unlike the Badgers, Georgia dispatched more than enough opponents to verify that their strategy is the real deal.
As is the case with Clemson and Bryant, the best hope of beating the Bulldogs will be to take away the run and force Fromm to win with his arm, something Auburn achieved when they defeated Georgia in their first matchup back in November. Also like Bryant, Fromm boasts superstar potential—but while Bryant gets thrown into the fire against Alabama, Fromm has a date with the softest defense in the playoff field. If his play takes a jump against a vulnerable Sooners secondary, the Bulldogs could play for their first national title since 1980.
Punt
On dissecting the debate for the final playoff spot, because the anticlimactic truth is that Alabama and Ohio State each had a case making the field.
For Crimson Tide, it’s the fact that, for the overwhelming majority of the season, Alabama looked like the best team in the country, and their only loss came on the road against a top-ten team. They’ll also enter the postseason healthier than they’ve been since September, with Mack Wilson, Christian Miller, and Terrell Lewis set to bolster a decimated linebacking corps.
An Alabama–Clemson rubber match will also be catnip for television ratings, which almost certainly played a role in this outcome. But there’s ample reason to believe that the Tide offer the best hope of giving Clemson a really great game, not only on account of the last two season but because Alabama is the most balanced team in the field. Everything I said about taking away the Clemson run game and forcing Kelly Bryant to throw? Yeah, Alabama can do that.
But Auburn provided a blueprint for defeating Nick Saban just last week, and Clemson’s defensive front combined with Bryant’s efficiency—his 67.4 percent completion percentage ranked sixth nationally—give Dabo Swinney the tools to stem the Tide for a second straight season.
Player Who Deserves to Be Paid This Week
For the second week in a row, undefeated UCF needed quarterback McKenzie Milton to go blow for blow with another highly regarded signal caller. Once again, Milton led the Knights to victory. Memphis’ Riley Ferguson was nearly as good in Saturday’s frenetic 62-55 AAC Championship Game, but Milton was just a tad better, completing 28 of 40 passes for 494 yards and five touchdowns.
Soon after the game ended, UCF coach Scott Frost was announced as the new head man at Nebraska, where he’ll earn $5 million annually. It’s only fair he donates some of it to his now-former quarterback.
Coach Who Does Not Groundskeeper Who Does
There was no egregiously bad coaching performance on this week’s short slate, so let’s keep things light and pay homage to Eric Harlow, the humble groundskeeper at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Late in the fourth quarter of the Big Ten Championship Game, Wisconsin’s Chris James scored a one-yard touchdown so violent it literally ripped the turf off the ground. The game must go on, so in stepped Harlow, the Winston Wolf of faux horticulture, who proceeded to pour on rubber pellets and do field triage for the next ten or so minutes as a capacity crowd plus millions of people on television watched him work. You could argue that it’s the most high-pressure field-repair job in football history. (I do not have a list of other contenders, don’t @ me.)
If this does not merit a performance bonus, I don’t know what does.
Obscure College Football Team of Note
One of the chief casualties of the College Football Playoff’s hegemony is a tendency to downplay the significance of what a bowl game, any old bowl game, can mean. On Saturday, New Mexico State issued a heartwarming reminder.
The Aggies entered the week needing a win over South Alabama to clinch bowl eligibility for the first time in 57 years. Here is an obligatory list of notable American events in 1960, the year they last made it:
John F. Kennedy announced his presidential campaign
Joanne Woodward received the first-ever star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The U.S. sent more troops to Vietnam
Ben-Hur won best picture at The Oscars
You get the picture. Consequently, you can empathize a bit when, following NMSU’s 22-17 win, the Aggie faithful stormed the field and head coach Doug Martin cried during his postgame interview. And, as fate would have it, NMSU’s opponent in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl is none other than another set of Aggies: Utah State, who remarkably enough was NMSU’s opponent all the way back in that last bowl appearance in 1960.
Bowl are great and don’t let anyone try to convince you otherwise. Speaking of…
Something to Look Forward To
Bowl season. A month’s worth of football, in varying shapes and stakes and times. Some of them will be memorable; many more won’t be. There will be goofy sponsors and exotic matchups and at least a few memorable performances. Even in the low moments, bowl season is the best college football has to offer. Take a cue from New Mexico State and make sure to savor it.

Turf Guy, Bama-OSU, and the Joys of Bowl Season: The Weekend in College Football
Welcome to the final Weekend in College Football of the season. This week, we’ll take you through everything you missed on Saturday (or, God forbid, Friday night), tell you the things worth learning, and look ahead to the College Football Playoff field. Enjoy.
1st and 10
Oklahoma steamrolled TCU 41-17, a nearly note-perfect recreation of the Sooners’ 38-20 triumph over the Horned Frogs on November 11th.
