[ID: Graphic reading "Palestine is not for sale: Bathurst & Clark St W, March 7th, Thursday, 2pm". An illustration shows a silhouette of Palestine with roots growing into the ground from its southern tip. End ID]
Real estate events are taking place throughout this month across the U.S and Canada to sell properties built on stolen Palestinian land. These property projects situated in locations like Modiin, Ma’ale Adumim, Neve Daniel and Efrat are considered Israeli settlements which are a violation of international law. Join communities of Turtle Island to say no to the sale of stolen Palestinian land. This is a strategic action and only suitable for adults.

Toronto man arrested after attacking pro-Palestine protestors with a nail gun
A 27-year-old, Ilan-Reuben Abramov, attacked pro-Palestine protesters with a nail gun outside a Toronto synagogue. He was later arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and mischief by the police. Pro-Palestine protesters were at the synagogue to protest the 'Great Israeli Real Estate Event', which took place in Montreal on Tuesday evening. Demonstrators claimed that the property group was selling homes on illegally occupied land in the West Bank. The event's website advertises properties located in several Israeli cities, as well as Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, including Neve Daniel, Efrat, and Ma’ale Adumim. Police stated that the demonstration was peaceful until Abramov arrived in his car.

Video on Reddit:
Prominent Palestinian prisoner Israa Jaabis makes a statement upon her long-overdue release. by u/iwasasin inPalestine
Tumblr media
(Screencap)
The video is not translated, however, this is a comment from the OP:
On the day of the accident, October 11, 2015, one day before the final submission of her project for the Special Education module. Israa’ drove from Jericho to Al-Quds in a small car that was overflowing with household items. She was moving to Jerusalem with her son, Mu’tasim, and, by transporting some of the small furniture, she had hoped to save on moving expenses. One of the items that Israa’ carried with her was a propane tank for the kitchen. It would have been too expensive to buy a brand new one in Jerusalem. As she was leaving Jericho, the engine of her car died twice. Young people in the town warned her to turn around and find another form of transportation, but she did not heed their advice. She needed to get to Jerusalem to her new job at a nursing home. Each time her car died, the engine emitted a burning smell. After travelling a couple of kilometers outside the Israeli Al-Za’ayem military checkpoint, near the illegal Jewish settlement of Ma’ale Adumim and a short distance east of Al-Quds, Israa’s car died again. No soldiers or army vehicles were in sight. A while later, a retired Israeli police officer passed by her stalled car. He parked his car in front of hers and asked for her ID as she desperately tried to restart the car. “There is a strong smell in the car,” she told him, trying to exit the car, but he insisted that she stay inside while he examined her papers. She tried to open the windows, but they, too, were affected by the electrical failure. Again, she tried to exit the car, opening the door, but the officer rushed over and slammed it shut, crushing her hand. She yelled “Allahu Akbar ’alaiku” (God is greater than you are), chastising him several times for not allowing her to escape. She urged him to let her out as fire ignited in the front part of the car. He refused. He stood there, watching her burn inside. The airbag deployed, completely trapping her inside the blazing car. The police officer who stopped her claimed that she was trying to use the propane tank to blow up the car. His testimony was the only one considered in the Israeli court, and Israa’ was branded a ‘terrorist.’ She was sentenced to 11 years in prison. While serving her term at HaSharon prison inside Israel, she was repeatedly denied much needed medical attention causing her to lose fingers and her health to deteriorate significantly.

Today in class we talked about the economic incentive of living in the West Bank settlements, and how a lot of the people making up that area are highly religious, and supportive of the State of Israel.
The settlement of Ma’ale Adumim has a group of Israeli settlers that coordinated on WhatsApp, with the end goal of harassing and intimidating Palestinians, and their businesses. The group is called “Restoring Security” and they are run by right-wing municipal candidates Shiran Mirzai and Moti Peretz, who are in the Otzma Yehudit party.
There was backlash that such actions are none too different from early Nazism against Jews prior to the Second World War. The two candidates said the organization is in no way similar. I find the actions of the Restoring Security organization deplorable, and entirely destructive. There is no upside to intimidating and harassing Palestinians in the settlements, for a couple of different reasons. First, this emboldens a response from extremists on the other side of the conflict. Secondly, by conducting themselves in this way, Israeli settlers are creating bad optics for outside international influences. I think the Restoring Security organization should be disbanded.

Israel plans to build 3,300 new settlement homes in West Bank
Israel’s finance minister, far-right firebrand Bezalel Smotrich, announced the new settlement plans late Thursday, after three Palestinian gunmen opened fire on cars near the Maale Adumim settlement, killing one Israeli and wounding five. “The serious attack on Ma’ale Adumim must have a determined security response but also a settlement response,” Smotrich wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Our enemies know that any harm to us will lead to more construction and more development and more of our hold all over the country.” He said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant participated in the discussion. The decision will put in motion approval processes for 300 new homes in the Kedar settlement and 2,350 in Maale Adumim. It will also advance previously approved construction of nearly 700 homes in Efrat. Once the war in Gaza is over, the Biden administration seeks eventual Palestinian governance in Gaza and the West Bank as a precursor to Palestinian statehood. It’s an outcome opposed by Netanyahu and his right-wing government — and pushed farther from view, advocates say, as new settlement plans are advanced.
