Making Fiends Headcanons #2, clarity on some things and idea(s) (Will be used for my Retold Project)
It's been a while since I made a post here, so I guess it's time for me to make another batch of Making Fiends headcanons, some of which might be used for my retold project. These will be numbered and colored for ease of legibility. This is a long read, be warned lol
Vendetta's First Friend + What Precedes the Takeover:
When I posted my first headcanons, I detailed how I believe Vendetta's fiendery began because she was constantly bullied at school when she moved to Clamburg, however, I forgot to mention that she HAD a friend before her takeover began. Her name is "Melanie", she's pretty much Charlotte in terms of bubbly and cheerful attitude, but more down to Earth and less clingy. One day at Clamburg Elementary, while finishing her classes, Melanie finds Vendetta alone on the playground as faint whimpers and cries are heard. She approaches Vendetta, unintentionally startling her as she thought no one was around. Melanie asks Vendetta why she's crying and playing alone, and she soon begins to hug and comfort Vendetta when she learns about the bullying and how lonely she's been feeling because of it. Shortly after comforting Vendetta, they both begin to talk and play a lot more together, and they soon become very close friends. Soon after a while, Vendetta tells her parents about the new friend she made, and both Viktor and Violetta are very excited and giddy to see their daughter so happy and that she made a friend. However, the bullying didn't stop, in fact, it became more rampant. Vendetta tries to avoid the constant bullying by pushing to the back of her mind and trying to take comfort in Melanie. But despite her parents and Melanie's constant comfort, it soon becomes too much for her to handle and she soon lashes out at Melanie when she tries to comfort her and runs off. After realizing she hurt Melanie from her anger, she runs off to the library, her favorite place to relax and be alone to try and take her mind off of things. While wandering the library, she finds a hidden room behind one of the shelves and discovers a book on how to make creatures known as "fiends". She glances at the book before taking it home to examine it in her room. She skims through the pages to see what she can make with them and brainstorms what to use them for. She first tries to make a few new friends so she's not alone, with Melanie being her only other friend. But then she hatches an idea, to make some fiends pull pranks on those who bullied her so that they stop. These pranks start off fine for the most part, but as time goes on, they start to turn into hostile pranks and Vendetta starts to become power-hungry as a result. During this transition, inhabitants of Clamburg begin to evacuate the town in secrecy so Vendetta doesn't send a fiend to threaten them, including the bullies she's "pranked" before. Unfortunately, Melanie gets caught in the crossfire of pranks and is hurt by a fiend Vendetta unleashed onto another bully. When Vendetta confronts Melanie and attempts to comfort and tend to her wounds, Melanie responds in terror, telling Vendetta to stay away from her and not touch her. Vendetta soon begins to cry, knowing she scared the only friend she had away. She's now alone again and is lost in her own head. Sadness soon turns to rage as she sends fiends out to terrorize the remaining inhabitants of Clamburg. When confronted by her parents, she makes a slug that shrinks her parents down to an extremely small size and leaves them in her hamster's cage so they don't try and stop her; and she makes and uses a fiendish growth potion on her pet hamster to have a bodyguard of sorts for her, now named Grudge. This is also one of many reasons why Vendetta "hates" Charlotte, it's because Charlotte's sort of a reminder of Melanie, how happy and cheery she was, and how happy Vendetta was. At the same time though, Charlotte is also the reason why Vendetta doesn't want to outright destroy her and why Vendetta has some sense of morals, because whenever Charlotte gets sad/depressed, it reminds Vendetta of how SHE was before everything began.
2. Charlene's Life in Clamburg (before Charlotte) + her promise to Vendetta:
In both the web series and TV series, Charlene is shown to have a house that she and Charlotte live in, so I headcanon that Charlene lived in Clamburg many years before she went to bring Charlotte there. While in Clamburg, she would be in charge of "Charlene's Candy and Auto Parts" store, as well as make lots of tasty and sweet pastries for Clamburg Elementary. Despite helping and talking to lots of people in town, she would be pretty lonely at home even though she would talk to Charlotte on the phone daily. Alongside this, I also headcanon that Charlene and Vendetta were friends shortly before Vendetta began her fiendish takeover of the lowly town. Shortly before Vendetta started to pull hostile threat "pranks", Charlene got a call telling her about something that happened to Charlotte's parents and that she needed to pick her granddaughter up immediately. Before she left Clamburg to get Charlotte, she spoke with Vendetta, telling her that she would be bringing her another new friend. She described Charlotte as sweet and loving, though a bit clingy yet equally shy-ish when meeting new people, very talkative and bubbly, and that they would both become friends as soon as they met. But Vendetta had to make a promise to Charlene. The promise is that while she's picking up Charlotte in Vermont, Vendetta shouldn't send any more fiends and to not hurt anyone. As well as when they return, to try and not lash out at Charlotte (because she's a bit sensitive) Unfortunately, Vendetta hurt Melanie with her fiend, so she had already lashed out and sent her fiends to terrorize the town while Charlene was picking up Charlotte from Vermont (this incident and "Charlotte's First Day" happened around 1-2 weeks apart) so fiends are littered all over Clamburg. Though it looks like they don't surround the perimeter of people's houses (especially Charlene's house)
3. (Clarification) The VenChar/Charletta Ship:
Something small I wanna clarify, but whenever I ship the two (Charlotte and Vendetta), I don't, in any way, portray it as "toxic" or whatever the proper term is. I like the whole "Enemy to Lover" trope, and I feel like that could apply to this ship as a whole (even though the rivalry is completely one-sided lol). I want to give Vendetta a redemption arc so that the entire dynamic between the two characters is healthy, and so there could be a happy ending between the two because they both deserve to be happy. Here's a small WIP timeline thingy to describe how I'll go about depicting the ship throughout the project (using some of the episodes from the TV since some of those episodes will be repurposed and redeveloped in my Retold Project): In "Charlotte's First Day", Charlotte meets Vendetta and soon starts to think they're friends. After her day at school and wrecking the whole place, she goes home and tells Charlene about the new friend she made, and Charlene is happy that the two got along so quickly. After a while, the events of "Parents" play out, and Charlotte's nativity begins to slip away since she hasn't seen her parents in months and she starts to feel depressed when Vendetta shows her parents at parent-teacher night. Vendetta decides to use this opportunity to make fiends disguised as Charlotte's parents to finally destroy her. But Charlotte still naive as ever, thinks Vendetta actually brought her parents back from space and is grateful Vendetta did such a nice thing Then after this episode, "No Singing" plays out and Charlotte gets depressed because of Maggie's poem, Vendetta tries to cheer her up (only because she made a fiend to crush anything/anyone that sings, hoping Charlotte would sing) and Charlotte begins to feel more comforted while around Vendetta, so much so that she begins to feel warm and giddy every time she thinks about her. Ironically, Vendetta began to feel the same way towards Charlotte ever so slightly (tho she managed to suppress those feelings a bit).
This is a small rough timeline I thought of for how their relationship evolves as time and the project go on. I want their relationship to feel and flow normally, while
4. "The Slumber Party":
One small idea for a chapter/episode in my project is called "The Slumber Party". Later on in the project, Charlotte becomes self-aware of how she accidentally hurts people and makes things worse due to her naivety. She's afraid that people hate her so much (which isn't entirely false), so she intends to fix the town and regain the people's trust in her. When she goes to middle school, she makes and gives out invitations announcing that she'll be hosting a giant slumber party at her house and welcomes anyone to attend. Charlotte and her grandmother began to bake lots of goodies and make tons of fun activities for the upcoming event. They want everyone to be happy and to give some good faith and positivity towards Charlotte. Once everything's all set and ready, Charlene and Charlotte start waiting for people to show. But to the surprise of both (mostly Charlotte), no one shows up, and Charlotte begins to feel even worse than when she came to her initial realization. She asks her grandmother if everyone still hates her that much, so much so that they can't even call her to inform her that they won't be attending the party. During all this, Vendetta is at home with her hamster Grudge, oddly contemplating the invitation she received from Charlotte. She's trying to decide whether to go to the party or just stay at home and relax. On one hand, she could attend the party to scare and send fiends onto people, wrecking the party as a whole. On the other hand, that would be a waste of resources and it would've been super late into the night anyway, so Vendetta would be very tired. (Though she's secretly thinking of attending the party to at least see Charlotte and maybe have a nice chat with her, buuuuuuut she's trying so hard to suppress those feelings, and for Grudge not to notice lol). While thinking about what to do, she realizes, "Hey, why isn't there any music or laughter coming from Charlotte's house? That place should be packed tonight, considering it usually is whenever she throws a party." When she looks towards Charlotte's house, it's completely blacked out, with only the light from her TV shining through the window of her living room. Did something happen at Charlotte's house? Why are no sounds and music coming from her house? Is there anyone there at all? Why are you thinking about her so much? If you're thinking about her THAT much, why don't you go check on her? Vendetta's mind begins to go all over the place, and she soon decides to go to Charlotte's house and see what's wrong. She takes a medium backpack with lots of supplies. Important stuff like fiend mix, pajamas, blankets, flashlights, a Charlotte plush that was gifted to her (Charlotte has a Vendetta plushie, so neither of them would be alone), and tons of additional supplies. When Vendetta and Grudge arrive at her house, their superstitions are unfortunately correct. There's no one inside besides Charlotte and her grandmother, and Charlotte looks even more depressed than when she heard Maggie's poem. A simple knock at the door grabs their attention, as Charlotte and Charlene are happy to see Vendetta and Grudge attending their slumber party (or what remains from it at least). Despite how late it is (it's around 11pm by the time Vendetta arrives) they both can still have some snacks and watch so TV for a little while before going to sleep. While watching TV together, Charlotte and Vendetta held hands for a little bit and both began to blush, with Charlene and Grudge watching from close by, smiling. Before heading to bed, Vendetta suggests that the two snuggle together, since it would be nice to comfort Charlotte after what happened with the partygoers and whatnot (plus it would be nice for Vendetta to hold Charlotte close to her). As the two begin to fall asleep, they snuggle each other, with their corresponding plushies by their side. Charlotte gives Vendetta a small kiss on the cheek and a quick "thank you" before they both snooze the night away.
I wanted to try and make something that starts off sad but soon has a happy and cutesy ending that continues the story. Since this happens later in the story, Charlotte and Vendetta's relationship begins to form more naturally, showing how Vendetta can feel remorse for Charlotte and that she has a soft side to her that begins to reform.
And with that, those are some headcanons & ideas I have for the retold project I'm working/brainstorming on. I hope you all enjoyed this super long read, and I'll try to type more headcanons more often since it's been forever since the last one. It honestly had a BLAST writing so much for the project. I wanna type so much more for this fan project since I've been hyper-fixated on this show for nearly 3 years, and because the source material BARELY has any information and world-building. I really want to do this series justice since Nickelodeon surely didn't, and it sucks that they did what they did to Amy Winfrey, and this show.

Here's another Making Fiends OC a former friend gifted me. Meet "Schar Louise", an evil clone of Charlotte made by Vendetta using her DNA to give the actual Charlotte a nasty name to hopefully kick her out of Clamburg for good.
In my Making Fiends Retold AU, after a while, Charlotte realizes that she's (unintentionally) done more bad than good, and she would try to fix the damage she's caused to Clamburg so people would regain their trust in her. However, Vendetta doesn't like that one bit, so she creates "Schar Louise", a clone of Charlotte that's rude and spiteful (the exact opposite of Charlotte) that would wreak havoc and cause damage all across Clamburg, in the hopes that people would suspect it to be the Charlotte, and thus, kick her alongside her grandmother out of Clamburg for good.

And here's concept art for Schar's "D-Side" counterpart "Ketty" (Formerly another OC my former friend gifted me, named "Ketta")
(Note: D-Side Charlotte would be named "Betty")
Ketty would still be a clone of Charlotte, but she'd be an abrasive metal rock gal, wanting to rock all day long.

Here's one of many OC that a former friend gifted to me.
Meet "Venadow" (a play on the words 'vendetta' and the Latin word 'venado', meaning deer or stag)
I'm still currently brainstorming some ideas for this OC, but I was thinking about making a "Making Fiends" AU in which Venadow would be the stand-in for Vendetta. This AU will be called: "Making Fiends: True Heir"
This AU would be a continuation of the OG Making Fiends TV series. Just over a decade has passed since Charlotte moved to Clamburg, Vendetta is once again plotting to destroy Charlotte because her mean side has faded away over the years. All of a sudden, the fiend mix she's using leaps and engulfs Vendetta completely. As a result, she has a new body, a long glossy dress with eyes and teeth, and horns that are reminiscent of a deer and the elusive 'Wendigo'. Since the fiend mix (at this point ) would already be mixing with her blood, she's able to create fiends with her limitless body mass.
(This is all I have so far lol, will continue/update it later on)
(Note: This brainstormed AU is completely separate from my Making Fiends Retold AU. I might change its main premise later on if I get any other ideas for it.)
For those wondering why it says "possibly v1 redesign" in the drawing, it's because I might want to redo this base redesign and add more to it, to try to give it more of a bestial, yet familiar look to it.
