Kant, ‘Critique of pure reason’ എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൽ'Substance' നെ പറ്റി മുകളിൽ പറഞ്ഞ രീതിയിലുള്ള വിശദീകരണത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ഒഴിഞ്ഞു മാറുന്നു. പകരം അദ്ദേഹം മൂലപദാർത്ഥം അഥവാ 'പരമാർത്ഥം' തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നതിൽ 'യുക്തി'(reason)ക്കുള്ള പരിമിതിയെക്കുറിച്ചു ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഒരു വസ്തുവിനെ വസ്തുനിഷ്ടമായി, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ 'the thing-in-itself' ആയി, ഒരിക്കലും നമുക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ സാധിക്കില്ല. നമ്മൾ(subject) ഒരു മരത്തെ(object) നോക്കുമ്പോൾ ആ മരത്തെ നമ്മുടെ കാഴ്ചയിലൂടെ filter ചെയ്താണ് നമ്മൾ കാണുന്നത്. നമ്മൾ ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ ആ മരം a priori അവിടെ ഉണ്ടോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്ന് നമുക്ക് ഒരിക്കലും തീർച്ചപ്പെടുത്താൻ ആവില്ല. നമ്മളില്ലെങ്കിലും മരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കാം, പക്ഷെ ഇത് സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കാനാവില്ല. എന്നാൽ ഹെഗെൽ 'Substance'-ന് വസ്തുനിഷ്ഠമായ ഒരു വിശദീകരണം നൽകാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണ്. 'Substance' നെ വസ്തുനിഷ്ഠമായി മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ സാധിക്കാത്തത് perception-ൻറെ പരിമിതിയല്ല, മറിച്ച്Substance-ൻറെ തന്നെ സ്വഭാവമാണ് (Hegelian speculative idealism). ഹേഗെലിൻറെ ചിന്തയെ 'പരമാർത്ഥം ആവിഷ്ക്കാരമാണ്' (Substance is subject) എന്ന് സംഗ്രഹിക്കാം. subject-ഉംobject-ഉം ഒരേ Substance-ൻറെ ഭാഗമാണ്. subjectന്object-നെ മുഴുവനായി ഗ്രഹിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കാത്തത് Substance, Substance-ഇൽ തന്നെ പൂർണ്ണമല്ല എന്നതുകൊണ്ടാണ്. മാത്തൻ 'Sex is a promise' എന്ന്‌ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. അപർണ്ണ 'Sex is not a promise' എന്ന് പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നു. ഇതിൽ ഏതാണ് 'പരമാർത്ഥം'? പരമാർത്ഥം ഇവ തമ്മിലുള്ള വൈരുധ്യത്തിലാണ്. ഇവയിൽ 'sex is not a promise' ആണ് 'പരമാർത്ഥം' എന്നു വരുമ്പോൾ 'പരമാർത്ഥ'ത്തിലെ വൈരുധ്യം നഷ്ടമാകുകയും ഈ ചർച്ച തന്നെ അസാധു ആവുകയും, sex is not a promise' 'പരമാർത്ഥം' അല്ലാതാവുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. (ഇതിനാണ് ഉപനിഷത്തുക്കളിൽ 'മായ' എന്ന് വിളിച്ചത്, hence the name 'മായാനദി' for the film.). മാത്തന് 'Sex is a ചക്ക' എന്ന നിലപാട് ഉണ്ടായാലേ അപർണ്ണക്കു 'sex is not a ചക്ക' എന്ന 'പരമാർത്ഥം' പറയാൻ പറ്റുള്ളൂ എന്ന് ചുരുക്കം! A priori ആയ 'പരമാർത്ഥം' എന്നത് സാധ്യമല്ല. ആവിഷ്കാരത്തിലൂടെ retroactive ആയി മാത്രം മനസ്സിലാക്കാവുന്നതാണ് 'പരമാർത്ഥം'. മാത്തൻ ഇല്ലാതാവുന്നതോടെ, ഭാർഗവി നിലയത്തിൻറെ ക്ലൈമാക്സിൽ ബഷീർ പറഞ്ഞ പോലെ"sex ഉം ചക്കയും എന്നുള്ള യാഥാർഥ്യത്തിൽ നിന്നും sex മാത്രമായി അവശേഷിക്കാൻ പോകുന്നു, sex മാത്രമായി" എന്ന് പറയേണ്ടി വരും! ഇതിനാണ് ഹേഗെൽ self-relating-negativity എന്ന് വിളിച്ചത്. ഇതാണ് Hegelian dialectics-ൻറെ രത്നച്ചുരുക്കം. എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് കാന്റും ഹെഗേലും pre-Socratic തത്വചിന്തകരിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്തരായി ചിന്തിച്ചിരുന്നത്? കാരണം അവർ രണ്ടുപേരും ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ ചിന്തകരായിരുന്നു എന്നതാണ്. നമ്മൾ മലയാളികൾ എല്ലാവരും അജന്തയിൽ പോയിക്കണ്ട 'ആദിപാപ'ത്തിൻ്റെ കഥ തന്നെ എടുക്കാം. കഥ പോകുന്നത് ഇങ്ങനെയാണ് - ഒരു പറുദീസാ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുa priori. ആദം വിലക്കപ്പെട്ട കനി ഭക്ഷിച്ചതു കൊണ്ട് പറുദീസാ നഷ്ടമായെന്നും (A Fall or negation), ആദത്തിന്റെ മക്കളെല്ലാം പറുദീസാ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ട് ജനിക്കുന്നു എന്നുമാണ് ആ കഥ. Hegel-ന്റെFall എന്ന ആശയം ഇതിൽ നിന്നും വ്യത്യസ്തമാണ്. Hegel-നെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തോളം കഥ തുടങ്ങുന്നത്Fall -ലൂടെ ആണ്. അതിനു മുൻപ് ശൂന്യത (void) മാത്രമാണ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത്.

അതിനു മുൻപ് പറുദീസാ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്ന 'പരമാർത്ഥം' ഒരു retroactive reconstruction മാത്രമാണ്. ആദിപാപം ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ പറുദീസ ഇല്ല. ഒരു ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ തർക്കവിഷയത്തെയാണ് കാന്റും ഹെഗേലും കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്യുന്നത്. - transcendental എന്ന ആശയത്തെ. Old testament ആകാശത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു transcendenal ദൈവത്തെ മുകളിലും, ആ ദൈവവുമായി പുനഃസമാഗമിക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്ന 'lost souls' ആയി മനുഷ്യരെ താഴെയും പ്രതിഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു. ഓരോ കാലത്തും ഓരോ ലയണൽ മെസ്സിമാർ വരുമെന്നും faithfuls-നെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുമെന്നുമാണ് old testament പറയുന്നത്. New testament ഈ transcendental ആശയത്തെ പൊളിച്ചുകളയുന്നു. കുരിശിൽ മരിച്ചത് ക്രിസ്തു മാത്രമല്ല, മറിച്ച് transcendental deity എന്ന ആശയം കൂടിയാണ്. Transcendental god ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടല്ല ലയണൽ മെസ്സിമാർ വരുന്നത്, നേരെ മറിച്ച് ലയണൽ മെസ്സിമാർ വരുന്നതായി നമ്മൾ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ടാണ് transcendental god എന്ന ആശയം നമ്മൾ retroactively construct ചെയ്യുന്നത്. It is through this very ‘failure’ of the God to transcend, that the idea of god (as claimed by the faithfuls) still ‘succeeds’ to exist among people. ഇതുകൊണ്ടാണ് Slovenian philosopher ആയ Slavoj Žižek ക്രിസ്തുമതത്തെ നാസ്തികമതം എന്ന് വിളിച്ചത് [1]. വന്ന മെസ്സിമാർ എല്ലാം 'എലി എലി ലാമ സംബക്താനി?' എന്ന്, നിശ്ശബ്ദമായെങ്കിലും, അലറിയിട്ടുണ്ടാവണം. Godard-ന്റെ Breathless ൻറെ മലയാളം adaption ആണ് 'മായാനദി' എന്ന് അറിയാമല്ലോ. Breathless-ലെ നായക കഥാപാത്രമായ Michel Poiccard-ന് Friedrich Nietzsche-യുടെ active nihilist എന്ന സ്വഭാവമാണ് കൂടുതൽ- cheerfully and stylishly accepting the meaninglessness of life. എന്നാൽ മാത്തനിൽ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ existential crisis ആണ് കൂടുതൽ പ്രകടമാവുന്നത്. മാത്തനെ കാട്ടിൽ കൊല്ലാൻ കൊണ്ടുപോകുമ്പോൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിൻറെ crucifixionന് സദൃശമായ ഒരു അന്തരീക്ഷം ഉണ്ടാക്കാൻ സംവിധായകൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു. എന്തൊക്കെയാണ് ക്രിസ്തുവും മാത്തനും തമ്മിലുള്ള സാദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ? റോമാ സാമ്രാജ്യം ഏറ്റവും ശക്തമായ സമയത്താണ് ക്രിസ്തു ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നത്. റോമാ സാമ്രാജ്യം ഏറ്റവും സമൃദ്ധമായ സമയത്തു തന്നെയാണ് അത് ഏറ്റവും മർദ്ദകമാവുന്നത്. (Self-relating-negativity of Hegel). God seems to have 'forsaken' the people of Judea under the Roman rule. ഇതിനെ എങ്ങനെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കാം എന്നാണ് ക്രിസ്തു അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നത്. ക്രിസ്തു, Transcendental god എന്ന ആശയം ഉയർത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുന്ന old testament-ൻറെ incentive structure-ന് അകത്തുനിന്ന് റോമാസാമ്രാജ്യത്തെ പ്രതിരോധിക്കുക സാധ്യമല്ലെന്ന് തെളിയിക്കുക വഴി, മതത്തെ തന്നെ പരിവർത്തിപ്പിക്കുകയും പുതിയ മതത്തിൻറെ (new testament) ൻറെ പിറവിക്ക് കാരണമാകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. മാത്തൻ ജീവിക്കുന്നത് global capitalismത്തിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും സമൃദ്ധമായ/മർദ്ദകമായ സമയത്താണ്. Love has 'forsaken' മാത്തൻthroughout his life because everyone, including Aparna, is busy commodifying themselves (commodity fetish-ലേക്ക് വരാം) in the global market. ഒടുവിൽ, within the symbolic order (symbolic order എന്താണെന്ന് പിറകെ പറയാം) of Global capitalism and the State (police), മാത്തൻ സ്നേഹം കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിൽ പരാജയപ്പെടുന്നു. ഈ പരാജയത്തിലൂടെ തിരക്കഥാകൃത്ത്/സംവിധായകൻ retroactively, കാപ്പിറ്റലിസത്തിനകത്തെ സ്നേഹരാഹിത്യത്തെ പറ്റി കാഴ്ചക്കാരെ ഉദ്ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. ഇതിലൂടെ ക്യാപിറ്റലിസം എന്ന ideology ക്കു പുറത്തേക്ക് പ്രണയത്തേയും കാഴ്ചക്കാരെയും ആനയിക്കുന്നു. സ്നേഹത്തിന്റെ പരാജയത്തിലൂടെ തന്നെ ആണ് സ്നേഹം വിജയിക്കുന്നതും (through self-relating-negativity). എന്താണ് Sublime? എന്തെങ്കിലും ഒരു വസ്തുവിൻറെ form അതിന്റെcontent കൊണ്ടും നേരെ തിരിച്ചും നിർവ്വചിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കാതെ വരുമ്പോൾ അതിനെ ആണ് Sublime എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. മറ്റൊരർത്ഥത്തിൽ പറഞ്ഞാൽ content-ഉം form-ഉം dialectical ആവുമ്പോൾ ആണ് Sublime ആവുന്നത്. അതായത്, ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കലും പ്രണയം സിദ്ധിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ആളാണ് മാത്തൻ (form), എന്നാൽ അയാളേത്തന്നെയാണ് പ്രണയത്തിന്റെ ഉദാത്ത ഉദാഹരണമായി (Content) സംവിധായകൻ മുന്നോട്ടു വയ്ക്കുന്നത്. ഭാർഗ്ഗവീനിലയത്തിൽ എഴുതിപൂർത്തിയാക്കിയത് ഉദാത്തമായ horror, suspense, romance നോവൽ ആണ് (content) എന്നാൽ അതിൻ്റെ താളുകൾ പാറിപ്പറന്ന് irrecoverable ആയ അവസ്ഥയിലാണ് (form). Nike-യുടെ ഷൂ എടുക്കുക. ആ ഷൂ ചിലപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്, മറ്റേതു പ്രമുഖ ബ്രാൻഡ് പോലെയും, വളരെ മോശം തൊഴിൽ സാഹചര്യങ്ങളിൽ പണിയെടുക്കുന്ന തൊഴിലാളികൾ ആയിരിക്കും (form). എന്നാലും nike-യുടെ ഷൂ ധരിക്കുന്ന ആൾ തങ്ങളുടെ സമ്പത്തിന്റെ പ്രതീകമായാണ് nike ഷൂ വിനെ അനുഭവിക്കുക(content). മായാനദിയിൽ ലിജോ ജോസ് പെല്ലിശ്ശേരിയുടെdirector കഥാപാത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നത് ഒരു fantasy

film ആണ് (content), എന്നാൽ നമ്മൾ കാണുന്നത് ഒരു കൂട്ടം തൊഴിലാളികളും അപർണ്ണയും blue screen നു മുൻപിൽ പണിയെടുക്കുന്നതാണ്(form). ഒരു ഉല്പന്നത്തിന്റെ (Commodity - e. g. Nike ഷൂ, ലിജോയുടെ ഡയറക്ടർ കഥാപാത്രത്തിന്റെ fantasy ഫിലിം) content-ഉം form-ഉം തമ്മിലുള്ള ഈ വൈരുദ്ധ്യത്തിനാണ് കാൾ മാർക്സ് commodity fetish എന്നു വിളിച്ചത്. Commodity fetish നെ തന്നെ ആണ് ഷിഷേക് Sublime എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. Zizek-ൻറെ The Sublime Object of Ideology എന്ന പുസ്തകത്തിൻറെ ഒന്നാം അധ്യായത്തിൽ Marx-ൻറെയും Austrian neurologist-ഉം psychoanalysis-ൻറെ സ്ഥാപകനുമായ Sigmund Freud-ന്റെയും അപഗ്രഥന രീതികളിൽ സാദൃശ്യങ്ങൾ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നുണ്ട്. ഫ്രോയിഡിന്റെ analysis of dreams-ഉം മാർക്സിൻറെcritique of political economy-യും2 ഘട്ടങ്ങളിലൂടെ ആണ് കടന്നു പോകുന്നത്. ഒന്നാം ഘട്ടത്തിൽ, ഫ്രോയിഡ് സ്വപ്നങ്ങളും (dreams) മാർക്സ് commodity എന്നതും, നാം സാമാന്യമായി കരുതിപ്പോരുന്ന സംഭവങ്ങളെ, എടുത്ത് അതിൽ അസാമാന്യത കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു. രണ്ടാം ഘട്ടത്തിൽ, Freud-ന്റെ/മാർക്സിൻറെ താൽപ്പര്യം സ്വപ്നങ്ങളുടെ/commodity-യുടെcontent-ൽ അല്ല, മറിച്ച്, അവയുടെ form-നുള്ളിലെ content-ൽ ആണ്, - എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് നിങ്ങൾ കണ്ട സ്വപ്നം/വാങ്ങിയ Nike ഷൂ ആ form-ൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷമായത് എന്ന ഘടനാപരമായ വിശകലനം. ഈ വിശകലനമാണ്‌ മാർക്സിനെ commodity fetish എന്ന ആശയത്തിൽ എത്തിക്കുന്നത്. Bourgeois ideology, എന്നത് commodity യുടെ content -ൽ അഭിരമിക്കുക എന്നതാണ്. Nike ഷൂവിൻറെ ഉദാഹരണം പറഞ്ഞപോലെ, commodity-യെ mode of production -ൽ (Content in form) നിന്ന് വേർതിരിക്കുന്നു, എന്നിട്ട് ആ ഉൽപ്പന്നത്തിൽ നമ്മുടെ വികാരങ്ങളെ ബന്ധിച്ച് (content) ഒരു libidinal economy സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നു. മാർക്സിന്റെ കാഴ്ചയിൽ, ഇങ്ങനെയാണ് മുതലാളിത്തം use value-വിനേക്കാൾ കൂടിയ exchange value ഒരു ഉൽപ്പന്നത്തിന് നേടിയെടുക്കുന്നത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ വ്യക്തിത്വം എന്താണ് എന്നത് തീരുമാനിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എന്നല്ല, മറിച്ച് നിങ്ങൾ എന്ത് വാങ്ങുന്നു എന്നതിനോട് ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടാണ്. 'ഞാൻ ഒരു fantasy പടത്തിൽ അഭിനയിക്കാൻ പോവ്വാ... ഞാൻ പൊളിക്കും...' എന്ന് സമീറ തന്റെ സുഹൃത്തുക്കളോട് പറയുമ്പോൾ അവൾ bourgeois ideology യുടെ പ്രതിനിധി ആവുകയാണ്. യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ താൻ ഒരു ബ്ലൂസ്ക്രീനിന്റെ മുന്നിൽ നിന്ന് മറ്റു തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ കൂടെ തൊഴിലെടുക്കാൻ പോവുകയാണ് എന്ന ഭൗതിക യാഥാർഥ്യം മറച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു. Bourgeois ideology സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്ന മറ്റൊരു illusion ആണ് that you can work your way up. ലിജോയുടെdirector കഥാപാത്രം 'നായികയായിട്ടു മാത്രമേ സിനിമയിൽ വരുള്ളൂ ലെ?' എന്ന് അപർണ്ണയെ പരിഹസിക്കുമ്പോൾ നായികയായിട്ടു വന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും കഠിനാദ്ധ്വാനത്തിലൂടെ ഒരു ദിവസം നായികയായി മാറാം എന്നു വ്യാമോഹിപ്പിക്കുകയാണ്. നിങ്ങൾ പണക്കാരുടെ രഹസ്യം മനസ്സിലാക്കിയാൽ ഒരിക്കൽ പണക്കാരനാവാം എന്ന illusion സൃഷ്ടിച്ച് നിങ്ങളെ ideology-യുടെ ഉള്ളിൽ നിർത്തുകയാണ് bourgeois ideology ചെയ്യുന്നത്. Commodity fetish വ്യക്തിബന്ധങ്ങളെ വസ്തുക്കളെ എന്ന പോലെ സാമ്പത്തിക ബന്ധങ്ങളാക്കി മാറ്റും. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് മാത്തനും അപർണ്ണയും തമ്മിൽ തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണ ഉടലെടുത്തത് തന്നെ ഒരു പണമിടപാടിൻറെ പേരിൽ ആണ്. മാത്തൻറെ അച്ഛൻ, കുടുംബത്തിലെ എല്ലാവരെയും കൊന്ന് ജീവനൊടുക്കിയത് സാമ്പത്തിക ബാധ്യത മൂലം ആണ്, and so on and so on. Commodity fetishism-ത്തെ പറ്റിയുള്ള മാർക്സിന്റേയും Zizek-ന്റെയും വിശകലനങ്ങൾക്ക് അടിസ്ഥാനപരമായ ഒരു വ്യത്യാസം ഉണ്ട്. മാർക്സ് കാപ്പിറ്റലിസത്തെ, old testament-ലെtranscendental ദൈവത്തെ എന്നപോലെ, ഒരു true Universal (നേരത്തെ പറഞ്ഞ 'പരമാർത്ഥം') ആയാണ് കാണുന്നത്. ആ true Universal അരികുവൽക്കരിക്കുന്ന false particulars ആയാണ് തൊഴിലാളി വർഗ്ഗത്തെ കാണുന്നത്. അരികുവൽക്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ ഭൂരിപക്ഷമായിരിക്കെ അവർ 'class consciousness' ലൂടെ സംഘടിച്ച് വർഗ്ഗവിപ്ലവം നടത്തുമെന്നും തൊഴിലാളിവർഗ്ഗം പുതിയ true Universal ആയി മാറുമെന്നും മാർക്സ് പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാൽ Zizek തൊഴിലാളി വർഗ്ഗത്തെ true particular ആയാണ് കാണുന്നത്. True Universal അഥവാ 'പരമാർത്ഥം' എന്നത് സാധ്യമല്ലല്ലോ. Zizek-ൻറെ കാഴ്ചയിൽ capitalist ideology എന്നത് 'മായ'യാണ് (false Universal). തൊഴിലാളി വർഗ്ഗം ആവിഷ്‌കരിക്കുന്ന, retroactively വൈരുദ്ധ്യാത്മകമായി മാത്രം അനുഭവിക്കാവുന്ന, മായയാണ് capitalism.

'തോക്കിൻകുഴലിലൂടെ വിപ്ലവ'വും നടത്തി അങ്ങോട്ട് ചെന്നാൽ അവിടെ ഒന്നും കാണില്ലെന്ന് ചുരുക്കം. ക്യാപിറ്റലിസം മായയാണെങ്കിൽ പിന്നെ അത് യാഥാർഥ്യം ആയി നമ്മൾ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നതെന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ്? മായയെ യാഥാർഥ്യമായി അനുഭവിക്കുന്നത���നെ ആണ് psychoanalysis -ൽ SYMPTOM എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നത്. 'ഞാൻ ഒരു fantasy മൂവിയിൽ അഭിനയിക്കാൻ പോവ്വാ, ഞാൻ പൊളിക്കും' എന്നു സമീറയെക്കൊണ്ട് പറയിക്കുന്നത് അവളുടെ symptom ആണ്. പ്രേതങ്ങളിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത ഒരു യുക്തിവാദി ആയിരുന്നു ഭാർഗ്ഗവീനിലയത്തിലെ നോവലിസ്റ്റെങ്കിൽ അയാൾ ഒരിക്കലും SK-യുടെയും ഭാർഗ്ഗവിക്കുട്ടിയുടെയും മരണത്തിനു കാരണക്കാരൻ ആരെന്ന് കണ്ടുപിടിക്കില്ലായിരുന്നു. യാഥാർഥ്യത്തെ അനുഭവിക്കാൻ അയാളെ സഹായിച്ചത് അയാളുടെ വിഭ്രാന്തി (psychosis) ആണ്. Desire എന്നത് unconscious ആണെന്നും consciousness ൻറെ ലക്‌ഷ്യം പ്രവർത്തിയിൽ വരുത്താൻ സാധിക്കാത്ത desires-നെ repress ചെയ്യുകയുമാണെന്ന് Freud കരുതി. Imaginary-യും Symbolic-ഉം ചേർന്നതാണ് നമ്മുടെreality.

Imaginary order-ഇൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു വസ്തു നമുക്ക് ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുകയും (ഉദാ - സമീറയുടെ lifestyle and success) symbolic order-ലുള്ള ആൾക്കാർ അത് നിരോധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ ആണ്, നമ്മൾക്ക് ആ വസ്തുവിൽ desire ഉണ്ടാകുന്നത്. Symbolic റെജിസ്റ്ററിന്റെ അംഗീകാരം നേടിയെടുക്കാനെന്ന തരത്തിൽ. മറ്റുള്ളവർ നമ്മളെ എങ്ങനെ കാണുന്നു എന്ന് സങ്കല്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നമ്മൾ നമ്മളെത്തന്നെ നോക്കുന്ന മൂന്നാമത്തെ ഒരു തലമുണ്ട്. ഇത്Real-ലാണ് വരുന്നത്. കോളേജ് കാലത്ത് അപർണ്ണ മാത്തനെ പരിപൂർണ്ണമായും നിരുപാധികമായുമാണ് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നത്. അതായത്, symbolic order-ൽ മാത്തൻ പരിപൂർണ്ണനാണ്. എന്നാൽ മാത്തൻറെ unconscious mind ന് അറിയാം താൻ പരിപൂർണ്ണൻ അല്ലെന്ന്. മാത്തൻറെ insecurity മുഴുവൻ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത്unconscious mind-ഇൽ ആണ്. അതായത്Real-ൽ മാത്തൻ അപൂർണ്ണമാണ്‌. this is going to be a collection of ‘reviews/analyses’ where i just rant about movies i just watched, mostly malayalam. more like a movie diary than anything else.

About me: i’m 30 currently and i created this blog at least 5 years ago lol but never got around to using it. I’m a malayali artist/designer living in canada currently. she/her pronouns, bi, born in kerala, raised in dubai watching lots of malayalam movies and currently living in canada, keeping up with all the malayalam movies i can watch from here.

About the blog: My lens when writing these reviews will mainly be a queer feminist one due to my identity and lived experiences. i’m not qualified enough to productively comment on casteism or class in these movies because I haven’t experienced these things as an ‘NRI’, but I will touch upon it when i recognize it in a film. Since I am going to focus on the ‘analysis’ part more than an actual review, it will be spoiler heavy and I’ll announce spoilers in all caps. This is going to be a diary style blog, where I’m writing reviews for myself, to record how i felt about these movies and my thoughts on media in general. So it may not be useful for those trying to decide on a movie. But it might be useful to those looking for a further analysis from a queer feminist perspective after watching the movie.
