There's a moment, also exposed in the trailer, that made me think that this film would be a rural and more compact version of Memoria: there's an otherwordly taste to it, and the sound that has a similarly rupturing quality. But this is an incidental yet narratively important intrusion. The film's protagonist, naturalized from South Korea into the Danish countryside's family, encounters micro- and macro-racist remarks and behaviors, while also having to tackle his soon-to-be-retired adoptive parents' expectations to take over their farm.
