#Mario is the supportive uncle who Yoshi loves but DOES NOT LISTEN TO unless the situation is particularly serious

I know a lot of us are thinking about how in the Mario Movie, Luigi’s aversion to pets may be leading up to Polterpup (who I definitely hope appears some time in the future.) 

But consider this: Luigi is the first one to stumble upon the newly-hatched Yoshi in the sewers of Brooklyn. The baby apex predator immediately imprints on him as his mother, and... well... it’s a baby. Luigi can’t just leave him there! Shenanigans ensue.
