Age Criteria: There is no upper age limit for admission to any of the programmes.

Reservation Criteria:

a) Reservation of seats is applicable for SC/ST students of any religion looking for admission to the distance course only as per Central Government norms. There will also be a relaxation of 5% marks in the eligibility criteria.

b) JMI being a minority university, 30% of the seats are reserved for Muslim students in each program, 10% of which will be women candidates.

c) An additional 10% of the seats are reserved for Muslim OBC – Non-creamy layer/ ST

The course fee for most of the postgraduate programs is in the range from Rs.7800-Rs.14000. For Bachelor’s degree courses, the fee ranges from Rs.7200-8800. B.Ed is the only course which costs Rs.30000 for two years. PG Diploma and Certificate programs cost Rs.5600-Rs.15500. PG Diploma in Geo-informatics (PGDGI) is another special course with a total fee of Rs.36200.

Central University of South Bihar to introduce seven new courses in academic session 2020-21 - Times of India

GAYA: Central University of South Bihar would be introducing seven new courses in the academic session 2020-21. The new courses are in addition to the 45 ongoing courses at the UG, PG and PhD level.

The PG level new courses are M.P. Ed (Master of Physical Education, Geography, Geology, M. Pharma (Pharmaceuticals) and M. Pharma (Pharmacology). PhD courses are being introduced in Commerce and History. According to the University PRO Mudassir Alam, the university was earlier conducting 45 courses (3 UG courses, 22 PG courses and 20 PhD programs.

From the academic session 2020-21, the Central University of South Bihar will be conducting 52 programs including 22 PhD level Programs.

As per the information provided by the PRO, the university has invited application for admission for altogether 1777 seats at the UG, PG and PhD level. Whereas 276 seats are available at the UG level, the number of seats at the PG and PhD levels have been put at 1171 and 330 respectively.

The PhD programs for which applications have been invited include Bio Technology, Life Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Physics, Education, Clinical Psychology, Economics and Sociology.

The admission notice issued by Rashmi Tripathi, the University’s Controller of Exams says that the candidates for admission will be selected through the test conducted by the Central University Combined admission exam body. Besides, 14 Central Universities, 4 state universities too are participating in the combined admission test. For UG and PG admissions computer readable OMR based entrance test would be conducted. Test for PhD course admission will be conducted online.

Established in the year 2009, the university, a couple of years back shifted to its own campus located in the Panchanpur village, about 15 kms from the divisional head quarters. Prior to that the university functioned from rented buildings located in Gaya and Patna. The faculty strength of the University is 151 including 21 Professors and 24 Associate Professors.

As per available information, hostel facility is available only for 800 students including 300 women students. Others have to arrange their own accommodation.
