He also expressed U.S. concerns about the PRC’s human rights abuses, highlighting the urgency of resolving these matters in the interest of bilateral relations.  

Focus on Regional Stability and Global Issues

Maintaining Peace Across the Taiwan Strait and South China Sea A key focus of the meeting was the maintenance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and in the South China Sea. These regions are of strategic importance, and the discussion underscored the need for continued dialogue and diplomacy to manage tensions.   Exchanging Views on Global Conflicts The two sides exchanged views on various regional and global issues, including Russia’s war against Ukraine, the situation in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and developments in the Middle East.
