Jeremiah Chooses to Remain in Judah
1 This is the message that came to Jeremiah from the LORD after Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had released him from Ramah, when he was bound in chains, along with all the exiles from Jerusalem and Judah who were being taken into exile in Babylon.
2 The captain of the guard took Jeremiah and told him, “The LORD your God has predicted this disaster on this place. 3 And now the LORD has brought it about and has done just as he said. Because you people sinned against the LORD and didn’t obey him, this has happened to you. 4 Now, look, I’ve freed you today from the chains that were on your hands. If you want to come with me to Babylon, come, and I’ll look after you. But if you don’t want to come with me to Babylon, don’t. Look, the whole land lies before you, so go wherever it seems good and right for you to go.”
5 When he still did not respond, Nebuzaradan said, “Return to Ahikam’s son Gedaliah, whom the king of Babylon has appointed over the cities of Judah, and remain with him among the people—or go wherever it seems right for you to go.” Then the captain of the guard gave him an allowance of food and a gift and sent him off. 6 Jeremiah came to Ahikam’s son Gedaliah at Mizpah, and he remained with him among the people who were left in the land.
Gedaliah and the Community in Judah
7 All the leaders of the forces who were in the field along with their men heard that the king of Babylon had appointed Ahikam’s son Gedaliah over the men, women, children, and the poor of the land who had not been taken into exile in Babylon. 8 Those who came to Gedaliah at Mizpah included Nethaniah’s son Ishmael, Jonathan, Kareah’s son Jonathan, Tanhumeth’s son Seraiah, Ephai’s sons from Netophah; and Jezaniah, the son of a man from Maacah. They came along with their men.
9 Ahikam’s son Gedaliah, the grandson of Shaphan, swore an oath to them and their men: “Don’t be afraid to serve the Chaldeans. Remain in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and things will go well for you. 10 As for me, I’ll remain at Mizpah to represent you before the Chaldeans who come to us. As for you, gather wine, summer fruit, and oil. Put it in your containers and live in your cities that you have taken over.”
11 All the Judeans who were in Moab, those with the people in Ammon, those in Edom, and those in all the other countries also heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant for Judah and that he had appointed Ahikam’s son Gedaliah, the grandson of Shaphan, over them. 12 So all the Judeans returned from all the countries where they had been scattered. They came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah at Mizpah, and they gathered wine and summer fruit in great abundance.
A Plot against Gedaliah
13 Kareah’s son Jonathan and all leaders of the forces who were in the field came to Gedaliah at Mizpah. 14 They told him, “Are you aware that Baalis, the king of the people of Ammon, has sent Nethaniah’s son Ishmael to take your life?” But Ahikam’s son Gedaliah did not believe them.
15 Then Kareah’s son Jonathan spoke privately to Gedaliah at Mizpah: “Let me go kill Nethaniah’s son Ishmael, and no one will know. Why should he take your life? Otherwise all the Judeans who have gathered around you will be scattered, and the remnant of Judah will perish.”
16 Ahikam’s son Gedaliah replied to Kareah’s son Jonathan, “Don’t do this! First Reading Ruth 1:1, 3-6, 14b-16, 22 Naomi returned with the Moabite daughter-in-law, Ruth, to Bethlehem.
Once in the time of the judges there was a famine in the land; so a man from Bethlehem of Judah departed with his wife and two sons to reside on the plateau of Moab. Elimelech, the husband of Naomi, died, and she was left with her two sons, who married Moabite women, one named Orpah, the other Ruth. When they had lived there about ten years, both Mahlon and Chilion died also, and the woman was left with neither her two sons nor her husband. She then made ready to go back from the plateau of Moab because word reached her there that the LORD had visited his people and given them food. Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-bye, but Ruth stayed with her. Naomi said, “See now! Your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and her god. Go back after your sister-in-law!” But Ruth said, “Do not ask me to abandon or forsake you! For wherever you go, I will go, wherever you lodge I will lodge, your people shall be my people, and your God my God.”
Thus it was that Naomi returned with the Moabite daughter-in-law, Ruth, who accompanied her back from the plateau of Moab. They arrived in Bethlehem at the beginning of the barley harvest.

The Book of the Wars of the Lord (Hebrew: סֵפֶר מִלְחֲמֹת יהוה) is one of several non-canonical books referenced in the Bible which have now been completely lost.[1] It is mentioned in Numbers 21:13-14, which reads:
"From there they set out and camped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the desert and bounding the Amorite territory. For Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites. That is why the Book of the Wars of the LORD says: '... Waheb in Suphah and the ravines of Arnon, and at the stream of the ravines that lead to the dwelling of Ar, which lies along the border of Moab.'"[2]
David Rosenberg suggests in The Book of David that it was written in 1100 BC or thereabouts.
The way it is mentioned in Scripture would indicate that it was somewhat well-known or accessible to the people of ancient Israel.

They Watch Us From The Moon Drop Far-Out Single Ahead of New LP

For some time now, I've been starting my mornings with heavy riffs and old comic books from The Golden Age. Tales from the Crypt, Mystical Tales, Mystery Tales, Tales of the Unexpected, and (my most recent find) Strange Tales of the Unusual. There's just something about the simplicity, sincerity, and wisdom of those old anthology stories that puts me in a good mood.
A band suited for the same spirit of adventure is THEY WATCH US FROM THE MOON. Like Clark Kent's humble origins in Kansas farmland, this six-piece wonder hails from Lawrence, KS, founded in 2018.
Their sound, rooted in the Black Sabbath tradition, is tinged with the surprising and otherworldly. For various songs male and female voices unify or sing interchangeably, whilst instruments weave together dreamy doom metal with blues-hued stoner and space rock, making them a veritable chorus of doom.
When we last left They Watch Us From The Moon, they had just released the magical track "Return To Earth". Now, as we continue with our adventures with the spaced-out crew, we find them reaching a new juncture: "MOAB."
"Mother Of All Bastards" was written as a reflection of that in our times. The lyrical imagery paints a very dower picture of a future yet to come and our inability to stop it. Alien abduction, bases on the Moon, and all things Sci-Fi weave through the entire album. As with all science fiction, the story leads into a conversation about what path of destruction humans put themselves on to arrive to the future in such a fantastical way.
It's one of my favorite tracks so far from the They Watch Us From The Moon, beginning with that gorgeous, soulful low-end riff that accompanies earnest angelic harmonies. This six-member powerhouse, now in year 5 as a band, absolutely needs to be seen on stages around the world.

Hailing from Kansas, They Watch Us From The Moon have landed to present their first magnum opus Cosmic Chronicles: Act 1, The Ascension will release via New Heavy Sounds on May 12th, 2023.
TWUFTM are a band that has a concept behind the groove. Sci-fi space opera, a love for Bowie and Queen, brought to the fore visually, in their mashing of comic book narratives and Funkadelic style alter ego’s. TWUFTM is truly an immersive experience on every level. Cosmic Chronicles: Act 1, The Ascension is a space opera for heavy psych doommers and shoegazers alike. This is something new within heavy psychedelics, in fact it’s something new anywhere.
"On The Fields Of The Moon" is like fresh oxygen in bright sunlight - chiming lead guitars and angelic twin vocals (almost like Fleetwood Mac … imagine that) melodies draw you in like gravity itself. Complete with a space-bound chorus and a ripping guitar only 250 seconds into our flight. It sets the tone perfectly. "Space Angel" is literally that. The band's angels Luna and Nova are simply mesmerising, weaving through the heaviest of space-kraut riff grooves.

With "MOAB", the mood is darkening. 'Days of destruction, days of disease' is a warning for our times. The pace has slowed, it’s black and doom laden, yet our vocal angels still give us reason for optimism. And there, fellow travelers, we suggest that you take a moment to take in what you’ve just heard, and imbibe whatever is your drug of choice before tackling the final two ten-minute space flights. "Creeper AD" is a psychedelic trip to lose yourself in. Shifting chord progressions, cool guitar breaks and again, those vocal harmonies, entwined and bewitching. "Return To Earth" does just that, and is pretty much the summation of what we have experienced. An epic, gorgeous space symphony.
Cosmic Chronicles contains five immense tracks chock full of weight and brimming with melody. Clocking in at around 44 minutes, Cosmic Chronicles: Act 1, The Ascension never outstays its welcome. In our opinion, it’s an almost frighteningly impressive, opening offering. Welcome to the (other) world of They Watch It From The Moon. Watch the skies.

2 Kings 1: 1-8. "The Upper Room."

The First Book of Kings concludes after 22 Chapters. The Gematria calls this sha'uar, a "port", but also "something horrible, swept away by the storm." The story ends with a bad man, Ahab, and his relative, Ahaziah, one long-lived, the other not, being swept away by corruption and delusion.
The text provides us with a few good eggs, the best egg being Jehoshaphat, "Who Governs in God's Name." A brave adventurer and meditator, Jehoshaphat was also blown out to sea but instead of notoriety, he found the far shore of Judaism, shipwrecked himself there, and did not return.
This is what it means to be a Jewish Royal; to know without a doubt though one appears to be physically bound here, the truth is stranded on the distant shore of Ha Shem.
Ha Shem, the storm of old who sweeps away the wicked and the righteous alike is verily the wind the sea, and the dry land on the other side.
Here begins The Second Book of the Melachim.
The Lord’s Judgment on Ahaziah
1 After Ahab’s death, Moab rebelled against Israel. 
2 Now Ahaziah had fallen through the lattice of his upper room in Samaria and injured himself. So he sent messengers, saying to them, “Go and consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron, to see if I will recover from this injury.”
3 But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Go up and meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and ask them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going off to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron?’ 
4 Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘You will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!’” So Elijah went.
The Upper Room is the space in which one attains to Ezion Geber, the distant shore along the Black Sea along which the God of Israel performs His Daily Promenade.
Ahaziah, "who grasps" was not able to let go of his habits for extroversion and he fell through the lattice work, the scriptures which explain how and why this is done.
As we have learned a real Jew understands how to view the world external to Ha Shem, "complete understanding of existence" and His own internal logic. The lattice work supports the sojourn but it cannot in any way be trusted to convey us to the end on its own.
MOAB "the father's ways" are the biggest cause of failure of the lattice work. The Torah and the Tanakh, its supporting documents, explain, the way a river bed explains to a river, how mankind follows a natural state of evolution from birth onward.
As in Eden, parents are supposed to say no much more than they say yes to a child until he reaches the Age of Reason.
During this time, we are supposed to force teenagers to resort to the Instructions contained in the Torah in order to cement the ethics behind certain rules and expectations that are placed on small kids. The result is the creation of an entity that can think, feel, reason, and perform like an adult who does not indulge in sin.
MOAB suggests the Torah and Gospels were given to Moses and Saint Mark for different reasons; reasons we concocted to suit our own purposes instead of the achievement of adulthood after the onset of fertility.
Just look at this world as a result of its decision to choose "tradition", instead of Torah. The Torah says "do not murder, do not steal, do not covet, do not lie, do not profane, do not idolize others..." and has tasked the King of Israel and the Line of Succession to ensure the lines between these and tradition do not become blurred. But blurry they are. The persons in control of this planet observe them not at all and we have found other ways, Moab, to be religious that are not working.
When this happens, especially the King of Israel, why would anyone believe in the God of Israel? Or especially when so many imperfect, devious and disgusting men who claim to believe in Him are destroying everything in their point of view?
Let us review the opening verses of 2 Kings and see how this happens to us:
v. 1: 1089, יח‎ט‎, "a private." To insulate ourselves from tradition, we need to achieve excellence with the scriptures on our own. The ship to the far shore is a one seater.
v. 2: Baal-Zebub of Ekron, "The god on the ground who resides in a high house and brings ruin." Ahaziah clearly thinks boys, bumps, and boogie are going to make him feel better about his unbelief.
The Number is 10101, yamka, "that which lives between the sea and the day."
The Seventh Day of Pesach commemorates the Splitting of the Red Sea, the climax of the Exodus from Egypt. Until “Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore,”1 they re­mained in dread of Egypt’s military might; some were even prepared to submit to slavery again rather than risk death.2 After the Splitting of the Sea, however, all fear of danger ended and they experienced true freedom.
Our Sages consider these two events, the Exodus from Egypt and the Splitting of the Red Sea, to be of such funda­mental importance that they require us to recall them every day.3 This obligation indicates that they are not simply inci­dents in history. Instead, the Exodus from Egypt and the Splitting of the Red Sea reflect two continually relevant stages in our service of G‑d.
Leaving Egypt means transcending our limitations and ceasing to be slaves by identifying ourselves as servants of G‑d.4 The Exodus from Egypt was not complete, however, until the Splitting of the Red Sea. By the same token, on a personal level, each individual’s experience of leaving Egypt is incomplete without the spiritual parallel to the Splitting of the Red Sea.
The commitment to leave Egypt, to transcend the limits of our individual selves, often poses a problem, for even those who are firmly committed to Torah practice experience the material world as their frame of reference. Mitzrayim, symbol of the limitations of our worldly existence, determines their world-view.
It is our false belief the world cannot be changed that keeps us trapped on this side of the Sea, and we are trying to reach the far side. The Torah requires us to commit to overcoming the habits that have made this world come apart and move forward as it has dictated.
We cannot turn to false aerial gods like Donald Trump or Vladimir Putin, both who have turned themselves into gods and expect this to happen.
v. 3: God tells Elijah "the returning homesteader" to reinstate His Presence. The Value is 6985, בט‎חה, "trustfulness."
Who do you trust? A pedophile crackwhore and his followers, a madman who hates everyone and everything, or God Himself?

here are two different roots עין ('ayin), or so it seems. HAW Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament and BDB Theological Dictionary both state that the connection between עין ('ayin) meaning eye and עין ('ayin) meaning spring or fountain is uncertain, and perhaps that is true from an etymological perspective. In practice it's no real miracle that these two words (may have) evolved into the same form since both an eye and a fountain produce water.
The noun עין ('ayin), meaning eye, produces the verb עין ('in), meaning to eye (1 Samuel 18:9).
The identical noun עין ('ayin), now meaning spring or fountain, produces the noun מעין (ma'yan), also meaning spring. HAW Theological Wordbook of the Old Testament submits that by the word עין ('ayin) more than just the eye itself is implied. "Occasionally it represents the whole process of seeing [ . . . ] of understanding and obedience. [ . . . ] The eye is used to express knowledge, character, attitude, inclination, opinion, passion and response".
hg= Hermes. The verb ερμηνευω (hermeneuo) means to interpret, explain or translate, and emphasizes the crossing of borders (i.e. between language areas or schools of thought). It's obviously related to hermeneutics, or the branch of knowledge that deals with theories of interpretation.
Elijah, the Presence of God attempts to fill the vacuum created by idolatry, the idea that a man supplant the realities asserted by God and nature and make them after his own image instead of the other way around. This process turns God into a graven image, a vile thing that causes dread when in reality He is Ha Shem and cannot be modified by the nonsense of man.
To attempt to locate Ha Shem using the direction finders in the scripture is what is meant by the use of messengers:
5 When the messengers returned to the king, he asked them, “Why have you come back?”
6 “A man came to meet us,” they replied. “And he said to us, ‘Go back to the king who sent you and tell him, “This is what the Lord says: Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending messengers to consult Baal-Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you will not leave the bed you are lying on. You will certainly die!”’”
7 The king asked them, “What kind of man was it who came to meet you and told you this?”
8 They replied, “He had a garment of hair[a] and had a leather belt around his waist.”
The king said, “That was Elijah the Tishbite.”
To end the practices of idolatry, one must acknowledge Elijah, the Homesteader. He is found within flesh and blood and conquered animal man, the leather garter found around his waist.
Our failure to recognize the Presence of God by practicing wickedness is why the world is sprinting into darkness. This is what is meant by "you will not leave the bed you are lying on."
The man that gets up, the truly religious one will be the one that lives on. His Number is 5690, ה‎וטאֶפֶס‎, tapes "the man whose words sit between the heaven and the earth."*

#DailyDevotion Sometimes God's People Are A Bad Example Not To Follow 1 Cor. 10:6-13 6Now, this happened in order to warn us not to long for what is evil as they did. 7Don't worship idols as some of them did, as the Bible says: “The people sat down to eat and drink and got up to play.” 8Let us not sin sexually as some of them did — 23,000 died on one day. 9Let us not go too far in testing the Lord's patience as some of them did — the snakes killed them. 10Don't complain as some of them did - the angel of death killed them. 11These things happened to them to make them a lesson to others and were written down to warn us who are living when the world is coming to an end. Sometime we may wonder why do we still use the Old Testament if we are New Testament people. We, after all, are not bound by the covenant God made with Israel on Mt. Sinai. Well the obvious thing is Moses and the prophets point us to Jesus as the Savior of the World. We reference it when we show how Jesus of Nazareth fulfills the prophecies concerning the Messiah. Secondly we have this from St. Paul, the people of the Old Testament are to served as an example of the LORD and his people as we are now his people in baptism. Having been rescued from the hands of Egyptians and having heard the LORD speak from the mountain his commandments what is the first thing they do? They get impatient waiting for Moses and make an idol of YHWH, two golden calves and worship with eating, drinking and playing. They sinned sexually with the daughters of Moab and worshiped their gods. The LORD killed 23,000 of them in one day. The Israelites complained about the food the LORD provided for them and snakes killed them. When the Israelites got to the Promised Land they did not believe the LORD would give those people into their hands but rather the LORD was going to let those people kill them and their children. They were going to chose another leader and go back to Egypt. Moses had to intercede for them before the angel of death killed them all. So what lesson are we to learn from all these bad examples? Don't be like them. All these acts of destruction prophecy the judgment of God's people at the end of the world. The judgment against the nations in the Promised Land are a prophecy against the nations of the world. Just as the LORD promised the land of Canaan to Abraham's descendants through Isaac and Jacob, he has promised the world to all who put their trust in Christ Jesus. Having been delivered from the world we should not seek to be entangled in it once again. Because of our weakened flesh we may still sin, but we must hate it. We may still fall into gross sins, but we must repent of them. With the Holy Spirit dwelling in our bodies let us not hand the members of our bodies which is the temple of God back into slavery of sin and fear of death. Let us not adopt the ways of the world not only sinning but approving of those who do. We should not have the facade of having Christ name and use his name to promote sinfulness. We are taught here not to grumble against what the LORD has given us. We should not fear the world and what they could do to us. We should not be enticed by the pleasures of the flesh and forget whose body our bodies belong to. Jesus Christ has bought us with his blood. We are not our own anymore, thanks be to God! He has redeemed us from sin and death. He has delivered us our old taskmaster the devil. Judgment begins with the house of God. Let us be found trusting in Christ alone, repenting of our sins, confessing our unworthiness and living God's life. Heavenly Father, give us your Spirit that we may look upon the bad examples of your people, learn our lesson from them and put our trust in Christ Jesus alone for our life and salvation. Festivals and Vows - Numbers 28-30
Hello again. It's been a few months since I last posted. I hope everyone is doing well. I've been busy with other things in life recently. I felt motivated to do another post, so here I am. Unfortunately, it's a boring one, but that's ok.
Daily Offerings:
Two lambs without defect (one in morning, one in evening)
Grain offering of about 3.5 lbs with olive oil with each lamb
About 1 quart of wine with each lamb
Sabbath Offerings:
Two lambs without defect with about 7 lbs of grain
This is in addition to the daily offerings
Monthly Offerings:
Two young bulls (each with about 10.5 lb of grain and a half gallon of wine)
One ram (with about 7 lb of grain and a third of a gallon of wine)
Seven male lambs (each with about 3.5 lb of grain and a quart of wine)
One male goat as a sin offering
Passover Rules:
Starts on fourteenth day of the first month (typically in March or April in our calendar)
One week of bread without yeast
No regular work on first and seventh day
Two young bulls (each with about 10.5 lb of grain)
One ram (with about 7 lb of grain)
Seven male lambs (each with about 3.5 lb of grain)
One male goat as a sin offering
Festival of Weeks Rules:
Present offering of new grain
No regular work
Two young bulls (each with about 10.5 lb of grain)
One ram (with about 7 lb of grain)
Seven male lambs (each with about 3.5 lb of grain)
One male goat as a sin offering
Festival of Trumpets Rules:
First day of seventh month (usually in September or October in our calendar)
No regular work
One young bulls (with about 10.5 lb of grain)
One ram (with about 7 lb of grain)
Seven male lambs (each with about 3.5 lb of grain)
One male goat as a sin offering
Day of Atonement Rules:
Starts on the tenth day of seventh month (usually in September or October in our calendar)
One young bulls (with about 10.5 lb of grain)
One ram (with about 7 lb of grain)
Seven male lambs (each with about 3.5 lb of grain)
One male goat as a sin offering
Festival of Tabernacles (Sukkot) Rules:
Starts on the fifteenth day of seventh month (usually in September or October in our calendar)
Do no regular work on the first and eighth day
On the first day, sacrifice the following:
Thirteen young bulls (each with about 10.5 lb of grain)
Two rams (each with about 7 lb of grain)
Fourteen male lambs (each with about 3.5 lb of grain)
One male goat as a sin offering
On the second through seventh days, perform the same sacrifice with one bull fewer than the previous day
On the eighth day, perform the following sacrifices:
One young bulls (with about 10.5 lb of grain)
One ram (with about 7 lb of grain)
Seven male lambs (each with about 3.5 lb of grain)
One male goat as a sin offering
Rules for Vows:
Men are bound by their vows
A young woman is bound by her vows if her father or husband allows her
Widowed and divorced women always bound by their vows
There's a lot of overlap with Leviticus 23. Boring rules about sacrifices and vows. I'm surprised that the Israelites would have hundreds of young, perfect lambs and bulls every year to essentially throw away. Typical misogyny that is seen throughout the Bible.
